My mom and my cousin are very picky about food. It is really hard to please them. Imagine my surprise when they came home from trying Silver Chopsticks and raved about it! They said I need to try it! So I knew I really needed too! I ordered takeout. I was so impressed by how warm the food was. It took 20-25 minutes to get home and the food was still very hot! They packed it perfectly! Portions are great. One portion is good for 2 people, maybe 3. Prices are reasonable. Taste is satisfactory. Not too salty. This is the only Asian food I am currently ordering. read more

I moved in the northwest area and wanted to try a new Asian restaurant and have heard good things about this place. I walked in during lunch and was seated right away. They had a lot of seating available inside. Also, they had a lot of options in their menu but, I wanted to try a basic dish to see if I would like the food. I ordered the general chicken lunch special. Though the service was great, I didn't think the food was anything special. Honestly, the general chicken was super sweet and saucy which made the chicken a little soggy. Overall, I didn't think the food was all that good but, the service was quick and friendly. read more

Been coming here for 10+ years most of the food is really good but the first egg drop was warm had to have super waiter microwave a cup of soup ridiculous who serves soup lukewarm it soup is supposed to be hot. Mongolian beef is so salty un edible worst Mongolian beef in town would you like a handful of salt so much MSG and when you tell the waiter he tries to make a problem out of it . Just have the kitchen cut back on the salt really this will be the last time control the chefs control the waiters for customer service . I told the way to you try that Mongolian beef. Can you tell me if and he wouldn't Horrible to have to write this. read more

We love Silver Chopsticks! We come here often if we are looking for a lunch out during the week since they have great lunch specials. We love the pho and the lunch specials here - especially the mongolian beef! The lunch specials are $13-15 and come with a cup of soup, egg roll, rice and your choice of meat/veggie entree. The staff is friendly and quick to take our order and bring out our food, making it a great option for a quick, yummy and filling lunch. They have a pretty big inside and while I've never seen it packed, there are always several other tables full when we are there. read more

Silver Chopsticks - Mongolian beef, veggie chow mein, potstickers, rice - Vietnamese Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Silver Chopsticks has a been a strong and reliable lunch/dinner spot for years. Their pho broth is light, has a clear and delicate flavor which I enjoy. I really like the wor wonton soup, it's perfect for cold winter evenings. I gotta rave about their handmade potstickers!! My whole family loves them! I haven't seen any other place in town with potstickers like these? They're perfectly chewy and delicious. Twice the size of any traditional potsticker. These are an absolute must for us every time we come here:) Always top notch service! Food is always hot and good. read more

I had a delivery from them and they were great. The glazed walnut shrimp not only tasted great but also looked appetizing upon delivery. My favorite thing to order when I'm not feeling well is Wor Wonton Soup. It's my cure all and theirs was delicious. read more

Food: Honestly just go here for the orange chicken. It's crispy white chicken with a perfect flavor profile. Large serving on a bed of white rice. The sauce has orange rinds in it, so you know it's pretty authentic. The rest of the food is pretty average. Service: good. No issues. Ambiance: very casual, open space. read more

The food here was delicious. We got takeout, so didn't get to experience the inside much, but the host was very nice! We ordered the vegetable fried rice and the orange peel beef. It was some of the best Chinese takeout I've had in Reno. Appreciate that they put foil on the food, keeps it warm quite a bit longer. The beef also comes with a side of steamed rice. read more

My husband and I were on our way back to Santa Barbara, CA after visiting family near Reno. I was craving authentic asian food and found this place on Google. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. All staff were so friendly and attentive. My husband got the Vietnamese coffee. It was really good, probably one of the best ones we've had. The food was also delicious! Dined at this place tonight, reviews were solid. Ordered the Number 3 Pho combo soup and Beef Plate. Spring rolls all lettuce, very little pork and shrimp. Very disappointing. The beef plate was terrible, it was mix between pork and chicken. Almost like they dumped a bottle of Orange Chicken sauce over it. Full of useless vegetables and Bamboo Shoots. PHO was all noodles and little meat; quality terrible. Not authentic Pho at all. Broth lacked flavor. Service was excellent! Food terrible read more

SO disappointing! Ate here once before and it was fantastic, but the B Team must have been working last night. We ordered take out: Wor Wonton Soup: The broth was actually good, but the wontons were not: Filling was hard and dough mushy. BBQ Pork Fried Rice: TERRIBLE! Pot Stickers were barely average. First time we ate there we loved it! This time was so bad, I doubt we will go back. read more

I really tried to like this restaurant. The service was good. Place was clean. The problem was the food lacked taste and heat. Hot and sour soup was neither other than being physically hot. Fried rice was dry and kinda uninspired. I had the Mongolian Beef which was pretty good. Eggroll was good. My wife had Sesame Chicken which was ok. Maybe I picked the wrong menu item as I see others rave about the food. Chinese food is very subjective and I prefer either Chicago or east coast variety's. I'll come back and check them out again choosing different menu items. Prices were fair for the lunch specials. Give them a chance as it pretty much is on par with other Chinese food. read more

AMAZING food and AMAZING service. I got once a week, best Chinese food in town. I've been going weekly for years.

I was ready for lunch and Silver Chopsticks was in the strip center with UPS. They offer many entrees but I chose the lunch menu. Smaller portions of house specialities with the bonus of hot and sour or egg drop soup and plain or BBQ pork fried rice. Mongolian beef with BBQ fried rice after the egg drop soup was a nice lunch. Too often beef in dishes is under seasoned and occasionally tough. Not today! The soy sauce and green onions were the perfect complement to the tender sweet and salty beef. I enjoyed the fried rice as well. This restaurant deserves several visits in the evening preferably with a group so we could share and taste more entrees. Looking forward to that soon. read more

Had dinner here the other night with my husband and his brother and wife. The place looked clean to me. I don't know what it is with Chinese restaurants but they usually always have a table for the staff to work at. Not really sure I like that. We were seated right away. Staff is very friendly. We had potstickers and crab puffs for appetizers. We ordered Kung Pao chicken, Generals chicken, Mongolian beef and I ordered flamed broiled pork over vermicelli with an egg roll. It was all delicious. The food came out quickly and the portions were good. We paid with a credit card and my husband noticed that there was a $4.00 charge for using a credit card. I didn't see anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant that they do this. So my husband takes it off their tip. He's not a fan of that. Sorry no pictures, I'm terrible about that. read more

I went to Silver Chopsticks for the first time today because I was really craving pho! I ordered the #7 Chicken Pho and it was very good. It was a large portion with lots of veggies. I had to add some extra hoison to add some more flavor to the broth and the chicken was pretty minimal and low quality but everything else in it was very yummy. My partner ordered the #2 pork vermicelli and he said it was also pretty good but the meat to noodle ratio was way off. I have included some photos below. He asked if he could have some more meat and they said they would have to charge an extra $4 for it which was okay but I think it should've come with more meat. Overall, it was pretty good especially for the price so we will return again! read more

Beijing ribs are very tasty. Chowfun is always good. Magnolian beef portion is somewhat small but the quality is good maybe too many onions compared to amount of beef. We tell them extra beef and pay accordingly. Dine-in and take out are both available. Owners are very nice. read more

I've never actually dined-in here, just took a risk one day and ordered pick-up online. I'm soooo glad we did! Located in a little strip mall across from the Mae Anne shops, I'm not sure I would have stopped by otherwise. What this place does, and does it incredibly well, is serve a variety of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese _fast food_, which you almost never see done well together. It's not terribly authentic, but it's delicious keeping that in mind. For example, my go-to is the pad thai, which doesn't quite get the salty/tangy sauce you'd have in true pad thai, but the abundance of noodles cooked perfectly and chopped peanuts makes this a great, slightly different dish. Same thing for the pho ga. The broth is more like won ton soup broth (and is probably used for that here as well), but lots of basil, lime, and fresh bean sprouts still makes this a delicious soup. Lunch menu combo is such a great value too. Hidden gem! Definitely on the rotation for comfort food. read more

First I must say I really enjoy the food here. the problem I have is that I order online and it will give me a time to pick up but when I get there I'm waiting 30 plus minutes. Today I waited 50 minuted for two plates. Plus you have to stand in the way of the employee and people who dine in. Very disappointed. read more

I finally took the time to dine here with my family today. Since they offered both Vietnamese & Chinese dishes, we ordered from both menus. I ordered the Pho Combo (#1). It normally comes with rare steak, meatballs, brisket, tendon, and tripe. I was really excited to eat this because I love trying new restaurants that have Pho on their menu and since this place had great reviews my expectations were kind of high. However, that wasn't the case. Before I even put all the fixings in my pho, I like to taste the broth because that's just how I judge any bowl of pho that I order. My first taste of the broth had this weird taste to it and I was not a big fan. There was a really sour after taste to it. Sadly, I only ate maybe half of my bowl as I just couldn't get over that taste. It also lacked any kind of beef flavor at all. The meats were just ok. Now, for the Chinese dishes. They were much better than the Pho. We ordered the Cantonese dinner for 2 people since there 4 of us (2 adults & 2 kids). It came with your choice of soup, some appetizers, BBQ pork fried rice, and your choice of entree which we got as Sweet & Sour shrimp and house chow mien. I actually enjoyed eating the Chinese dishes. The BBQ fried rice was really delicious and one of my favorite types of fried rice to eat. The chow mien was also really good. Both had really good flavor. I normally eat my sweet & sour dish with pork, but shrimp was a good alternative. I appreciate that it wasn't breaded because sometimes there's more breading than meat. The shrimps were also pretty big size. The hot & sour soup was ok. Needed a little more acidity to it. The egg drop soup was basic. The appetizers was mediocre. Service was good and they are attentive. They would come to the table and ask if we needed anything periodically. Refills on water. It was great. Overall, I would come back for the Chinese dishes only. I was just really disappointed with the Pho. read more

We love this place! The food is really well priced and it's a large serving, enough to have leftovers for the next day. A lot of different vegan and vegetarian options available too. The staff is always really friendly and kind and I think their prices are great for what you get. We frequently just call in an order and get it to go, but I've dined in there a handful of times as well. Definitely worth checking it out! read more

I love this place. Service was excellent &the food was delicious. Great portions and reasonable price.

Always happy, helpful service and good food. One of our favorite places, it never disappoints.

Worst food ever, don't waste your time. Pho broth is not good it's the worst I've had and I've tried a lot of pho. The broth makes the Pho and it takes a whole day or days to make. It had to many rice noodles, not sure why. The schezwan beef was gross, it taste like store bottle sauce and frozen premade breaded beef. Service was ok but the food needs to be made authentic and you need to make sure is made in house with real ingredients you can make your menu smaller to make it happen otherwise you're not going to survive as a business. read more

We came here before their cut off time for dine in (8:30pm). We order the pho dac biet and beef chow fun. The beef chow fun had wok hei, well seasoned (not salty), and beef was tender. The noodles were not the super wide noodles and there was a lot of sticking (like it stuck together in clumps). Overall I'm happy with the flavor and this dish even with the noodle clumping. The pho broth was flavorful, not salty, and didn't require excessive sauce. The meats were tender, except the tripe (it was very chewy). The portion ratio of meats to noodles were perfect in my opinion. Overall I'll be back. I'm happy with the quality of the food. read more

We've been meaning to try this place for quite some time but never made it... until today. Oh my goodness, it was SO delicious! We'll definitely be back. First off, they do daily lunch specials every day (except Monday when they're closed) from 11am to 3pm. So, we were super excited to try 4 different lunch specials and everyone was happy with their choice. Lunch specials come with soup (either egg drop or hot sour soup, and both were delicious), an egg roll (which was cooked perfectly and was super tasty), and either plain white rice or bbq pork fried rice (again, both were tasty), along with your lunch entree of choice. We had the L1 Vegetable Delight, L20 Sweet and Sour Shrimp, L25 Pad Thai with Shrimp, and the L28 Sesame Chicken. Everything was quite tasty and just what we were craving. We'll definitely be back! read more

"That was perfect!" "That exceeded my expectations." "Wow, this is such good quality." ^^ these are just a few of the comments my fiancé made about Silver Chopsticks. He grew up eating different kinds of Asian food and felt the food here was pretty authentic. For an appetizer we ordered the three flavor sizzling rice soup. The 3 flavors meant shrimp, chicken, and one other meet (maybe it was pork?). The chicken was softer than any chicken I've had before which was so tasty. We split two entrees: honey walnut shrimp and general chicken. Both were very lightly breaded. I always get worried when I order these items that they're going to come out like popcorn shrimp, but they weren't like that at all! The shrimp in all of our items were good quality. Each entree had enough to split. We honestly probably could've just ordered one entree since we bought the soup. Instead, we were able to bring home food for one more meal. Service was also great! Everyone was friendly. They gave us extra bowls and plates to split the food. Our waters were always filled. And they kindly smile and thanked us for coming on our way out. We will definitely be back! read more

Nice neighborhood spot in Staples parking lot. Nice selection of lunch items includes egg roll and choice of hot and sour or egg flower soup and steamed or fried rice. My son ordered the Mongolian Beef with steamed rice. The beef was tender and flavorful but the steamed rice was a little dry - no big deal. I ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice. The chicken tasted good but was overly fried in strips and somewhat dry. The fried rice was also very dry. Overall, not a bad experience and I would try different selections next time in order to support this neighborhood business. read more
