I am still very happy to report Bangkok express is our go to to-go Thai food spot! I am still a wimp and a spice level 1 is all I can handle! We've been really digging their shrimp Rangoons lately - it's a whole family favorite! The cream cheese, shrimp combo in perfectly fried balls, yum! And their sweet sauce pairs perfectly! A little bit goes a long way! Their staff is always incredibly friendly and work so hard to serve up amazing food!!

This is a nice small place to get Thai food. They are pretty fast. I ordered just the fresh shrimp rolls to go and they were out in a few minutes. The sweet rice with mango was fresh last time I came here as well. The hours on the door say they close at 9 but they actually close at 8.

This place is awesome! It's in the northwest part of town, and it's always packed, so be prepared for a wait. But trust me, it's worth it. The udon noodle with combo meat is the bomb! The shrimp are super fresh, and everything comes out piping hot, even when the place is packed. Just be sure to let them know how spicy you want it. I like it hot, so I get a 4, and it's plenty spicy. The seating is really nice, and the decor is cool. I've never had a bad experience here.

I usually look forward to stopping here at the Bangkok Cuisine Express when I'm passing thru Reno on the 80 either way west or eastbound. Wow, it's just been like 5 mouths maybe since I was last here and , damn, they must of changed cooks or something, cause the food for sure took a dive downhill. I mean it wasn't totally terrible or anything , but wasn't the stellar quality it once was. We ordered dishes I've had here before so I do have something to compare to from the last time. The insides still looks all the same and there was a decent crowd here for lunch. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao, aka. drunken noodles and the Sukiyaki Hang Noodles. Even a standard dish like the drunken noodles was just bland, well, more bland then it's supposed to be. It might be average in flavor if you never tasted how good it once was here. Same with the Sukiyaki Hang Noodles. That dish was even missing some main ingredients, like the fish that was included before. It used to be quite an intricate flavored dish and this time it was just a simple dish with not as much flavor experiences in the dish. Service was nice as usual, but with this drop in food flavors, I think I'll be skipping this place in the future. Probably head to Verdi to the Sasquatch instead.

Whenever I find myself in northwest Reno I try to go to Bangkok express. I love pad Tai and find that most places that I can find it at, the noodles are glaggy or that it's basically noodles in tomatoe sauce. Bangkok express has the best Pad Tai in town. The service is very friendly and the food is fast. The few times that I have stayed and not gotten my food to go it's been very quiet. No loud music playing but you can hear and see the kitchen but that doesn't bother me. I will say that be careful how spicey you order your food because they are not messing around. I typically get a 7 when I go to other Tai places but here I get a 5. I will say I have never gotten a dish here that I do not like. Even though I love the pad Tai I do find myself always debating on get the pepper garlic chicken.

First time trying this place, so we came for lunch. They offer a pretty decent lunch menu option. Upon entering we were greeted and informed that we could sit anywhere we would like to. The dining area was fairly spacious and clean. Our server came and took our order and answered all of the questions that we had. Our food arrived shortly after. Initial thoughts were that the colors popped, and the food smelled wonderful. The heat medium was a little less than I would normally get, but there was was a steady heat. Overall the food tasted great, and I look forward to returning and trying other dishes

Deep fried pot stickers! (Comes with 8, photo taken after 2 were eaten)

My husband was craving Thai food and this place hit the spot! It's close to our house, so it's easy to do takeout from here. We got deep fried pot stickers as an appetizer, you can choose fried or steamed. It came with 8 pieces, so 4 for each of us. My husband got pad thai and was excited that it came with both chicken and shrimp! He got spice level 8/10 and thought it was perfect. I went with spicy basil noodles with chicken and 7/10 spice. Mine was so good as well, I even had plenty for leftovers! Serving sizes were large, prices were affordable. Not our fave Thai place in Reno but certainly a solid spot!

The wood ear in it was excellent, but I've never seen it in pad thai. The thai ice tea was good, maybe a bit heavy on sweetener. I don't understand the high ratings here, based pireh on food. Thai Chili has far better flavors, and is rated lower. The wait staff/food runners lacked politeness, and never checked if we enjoyed our food or needed anyone. Sans the person filling everyone's water, we were never checked on in any other capacity. The restaurant was a cacophony of noise and conversation, I had to lean across the booth to have any chance of hearing my companion. The noise level is overwhelming if you have sensory issues at all. The decor is pretty cool.

When the tofu satay came out, it ended up being skewers of fried tofu puffs that you'd dip into their peanut sauce. It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.
