We did take out. Unfortunately the wait for food was extremely long though it didn't seem very busy. The good thing is the food was fresh and delicious. While we waited, we liked the ambiance and decor/merch.

Mud dang is always a good idea! It's a restaurant. I wish I could get two more often and every time I go I'm reminded exactly why. This is some of, if not the best Thai food in the Reno Tahoe area and if you haven't tried it yet, you are seriously missing out. People always ask me why I say that statement was such certainty and it's because Chef Opal really goes the extra mile to bring our community new and authentic flavor. She started with her Thai noodle soup soups, which have been a main stay on the menu since they opened in overtime, she's expanded those offerings to include many of her favorite dishes from back home. It's hard to pull away from what's beloved, but I find myself trying harder and harder to look at the new additions and choose one each time I go. That's why I largely prefer to go in a group because it means we can order more things lol! This last time I saw a seafood curry on the menu and had to go for it. At $30 I was a little unsure if it would be quite the value but let me tell you this thing was loaded with high-quality seafood. Big chunks of crab, giant, prawns, and large pieces of calamari steak made this extra special. The sauce was a yellow curry that had a slight sweetness, and it was chock full of scrambled egg that added richness, and of course you could add as much spice as you'd like. Another home run by Chef, Opal, and a great reason to get back to Moo Dang asap!

Moo Dang fried rice

We are back and lovin' it! My plan was to have leftovers and let me just tell you the fried rice for breakfast was awesome. That all started the afternoon before with shrimp garden rolls with peanut sauce, Moo Dang fried rice, satay chicken and drunken noodles. (There were two of us just so you know). The fantastic fried rice was not new to me but had never had drunken noodles. That's the last time I make that mistake. It was a fantastic dish. Our server was helpful and fun. Same as last time, a standard for Moo Dang. Lots of booths and tables for everyone. You can also get a t-shirt on your way out!

Dang the decorations with the old Kung Fu movie posters is dynamite! The staff is friendly and attentive. This place is nestled in a small shopping square with other restaurants. It is a 10 minute drive from the airport but the food sells itself. The food and drink menu here has depth! Chicken satay is tender and juicy! Papaya salad delicious and fresh. Thai fried rice with pork was a home run. We topped this off with the mango sticky rice. They also sell merchandise for the restaurant. Will come back the next time we're in town!

First time here and I had pretty high hopes. When you walk in, the place is eclectically decorated and has a fun vibe. Service was quick and friendly, which I really appreciated. I love Thai food, but unfortunately this just didn't fully hit the mark for me. The fried rice was good and probably my favorite dish we ordered. The kra-pow spicy basil with pork belly was just okay -- the pork belly was very crunchy and almost overcooked and dry, which isn't how I'm used to having it. The pad Thai was decent, but it had a slightly strange taste that threw me off. Overall, not terrible, but not quite what I was hoping for given my expectations.

Wow, this has to be the best Thai food I've ever had! I was so full when leaving but so grateful to have such an incredible experience. The Reno CM Michael T. ordered for the table a number of various dishes and none disappointed! There was so much food but it was my favorite way to eat. Getting to try so many dishes is my ideal dining experience. The servings were massive and so many good things to mentally note that I hope my local Thai place serves. The crispy papaya salad was a quick favorite but the Moo Dang soup might have been my favorite. The flavors in every dish were out of this world! I wish I lived closer to experience this restaurant more often!

Without question, Moo Dang is some of the best Thai food I've come across! Holy smokes, I walked out of here stuffed to the brim and satisfied to the umpteenth degree. Moo Dang celebrated their 10th anniversary this year, and it's safe to say they might make it 100 more years in business if they keep this up. Reno, count your friggin' blessings! Pays to dine with royalty, and luckily the Reno CM Michael T. knows how to order for the table. The owner brought out at least seven ginormous plates of food that three of us barely made a dent in. But good god, I'm so glad I got to try so many different things in one meal. Sure, I have my favorites when I eat at a Thai restaurant. Here are a couple of things worth noting when dining at Moo Dang: Soups -- I tried the Tom Yum, the house named Moo Dang soup, and Green Curry. These were all top tier, putting to shame so many restaurants around the country. All of them were prepared with love and the flavors were simply exceptional. You might think to yourself, pork skewers and drunken noodles...how good could those be? Stop, drop, and roll people, these are also elite. The texture of the noodles were textbook, while the skewers retained so much moisture and depth of flavor. Papaya Salad is one of my favorite Thai dishes. Here we were presented with a fried version. I had no idea you could fry papaya! Shows what I know! This was incredible and unlike anything I've had before. Just sensational. The restaurant resides in a humble strip mall. The environment is homey and lively. The people are beyond friendly, and the food is nothing short of a 5-star knockout. Walking out of this place I said to myself, "I'm so lucky I had the chance to dine here." Moo Dang, you're awesome. I wish I didn't live 1000 miles away!!!

Moo Dang is one of my reliable Thai staples in Reno. The Tom Ka is comforting and rich without being heavy, the Moo Dang soup hits that savory-sweet noodle perfection, and the green curry is the kind you crave on a random Tuesday. Portions are generous, prices don't make me cry, and the staff has always treated me well. It's not quite fireworks-level for me.. maybe I haven't unlocked the dish yet, but I can always count on walking out satisfied. Solid joint!

Moo Dang sits in Midtown in a big shopping center with plenty of parking. We went on a Friday early in the evening and were seated right away. By the time we headed out, the place was packed with people waiting, so going a bit earlier on a weekend helps. The space is roomy and has an easygoing feel. Thai photos and posters fill the walls, and the mix of tables and booths makes it comfortable for groups or a quick dinner. Service was great from the start. Everything came out quickly, and the staff stayed friendly and attentive the whole time. The food was the highlight. The Lad Na had a warm, savory sauce that coated the soft noodles nicely, and the vegetables were fresh with a good crunch. The Kra Pow Basil pork had a clean basil flavor and a steady heat that made it really satisfying. We finished with the sweet rice mango, which arrived warm and tender and wrapped up the meal in the best way. I would absolutely recommend it.

Tom Yum Fried Rice

Big fan of Moo Deng (the baby hippo in Thailand) and Moo Dang! Was pleasantly surprised to find an authentic Thai spot in Reno, and this spot is definitely popular for good reason! When you walk in, you're greeted with a cute street cart with dangling cooked meats (which I presume is used for food festivals/catering) and a very authentic scent of Thai dishes. The interior is very unpretentious and simple, and despite having a busy flow of customers, the restaurant is large enough where it's pretty easy to get seated quickly. Food does take a while (as in 20-30 minutes) to come out, but it's definitely worth the wait! We ordered some basic staples - tom yum soup, pad Thai, and tom yum fried rice. The pad Thai was my favorite, with a flavorful sauce and succulent prawns and chicken. The tom yum soup and fried rice are also solid, albeit a bit too savory (for me) and too tomatoey (for my boyfriend). Overall, great spot for authentic Thai cuisine with large portions and very affordable prices!

Drunken Noodles

One of the best Thai food in Reno, coming from someone from the bay. Staff was very friendly and was working fast. The space seems more traditional feel and that they're spaced out a bit more so it doesn't feel busy. The price is right.

We finally tried Moo Dang for lunch after hearing about how good they are. I must say that we waited too long to try them! Moo Dang is such a cute establishment with Thai posters all over their walls. They were busy with patrons so it took a few minutes before we were greeted with menus. We tried their Tom Yum soup, Drunken Noodles with shrimp, and Mango Sticky Rice. The Tom Yum soup was intensely flavored: spicy, sweet, savory. I loved how pronounced the lemongrass and basil was! The Drunken Noodles were really good, too. Great balance of flavors and ingredients. And, the mango sticky rice was excellent: the mango was ripe and sweet, the sticky rice was soft and flagrant. Overall service was good. They refilled our water glasses and were friendly. I can't wait to try more of their dishes.

Moo Dang truly has some of the most superb comfort food in all of Reno. It is consistently good and always top of mind if I need a quick bite. The spring rolls were huge and meaty with tons of lettuce and delicious peanut sauce. My panang curry was creamy luscious and the tofu was crispy and plentiful. I left super full with plenty leftover. Food came out piping hot with no wait at all. Love coming back time and time to moo dang it always hits the spot and it is such a comforting meal each time.

Thai Chili is a sleeper for sure, as it looks pretty Ho hum from the outside. Once inside, however, it's really homey. It's a little overcrowded with mismatched stuff, but it WORKS! I loved the ambiance for its non traditional, non sterile atmosphere. Now for the food! While maybe not 5 stars, it's a solid 4.5. Everything we had was top notch, with a couple of things being absolutely outstanding. Best of the night were the Curry Puffs, dipped in there insanely excellent peanut sauce (not too sweet and almost like a hint of chili oil) The Springs Rolls were a close second and my Mango Curry dish sparkled. Great Yellow Curry!! My son had a noodle dish that was also incredibly tasty. Have to say it may take me some time, but exploring their very extensive menu will be a pleasure. A big shoutout to Kylie, whose smile lit up the room and was accompanied by her fabulous service. Don't let the nondescript exterior stop you from trying this place. I am disappointed in the lack of consistency with plating and amount of food that is served. I would not eat in the restaurant in the future, but prefer take out. It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.
