Whenever we travel to Reno we always stop at Pho 777. On August 3rd. we went to lunch, three generations -- grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter. Shortly after our meal was served my granddaughter had a medical event that required her to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. The owner, staff and customers were very helpful. I asked if they would box up our lunch and I would pay. The owner said, no, it wouldn't keep in the heat and and for us not to worry about a thing. After she received the medical attention she required we returned and had the lunch we missed. As always, we enjoyed every morsel. The kindness made a difficult event easier and we will continue to have lunch each time we return to Reno. We love the food and the "old fashioned" care. read more

I love and appreciate how hard the people at this particular restaurant work. My friends and I came in after participating in a national bowling tournament. As it is, we were dying. We were all hungry, some of us HANGRY. We ordered a huge amount of food. The kitchen did their very best to continually pump out our orders. We put in one order and then another order for other things went in. We had a large group. Some people in our group even had food allergies at the kitchen was able to work with. Our table space was I believe for about 15 to 18 people. They quickly put tables and chairs together for our group and allowed us all to sit together. The employees were so nice. I'm sure it had something to do with how much food we ordered. But also, I noticed we were there very close to closing time. I'm so glad that we were able to have a large group meal together and so much more happy, too, that the restaurant worked out and that we all left with full bellies. read more

We were in the area and decided to try something new! I would have ordered pho, but it was just a little too hot outside for soup. The service was fast and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. For such a small restaurant, they were constantly busy, turning over 5-6 tables within about an hour, which was impressive to see. The only challenge was parking, but that's pretty normal for downtown Reno. Overall, it was a good first visit, and I'd definitely stop by again to try more of their dishes next time! read more

This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of place. It has an old type of decor that kind of takes you back in time to the 90's. The Special Combination Pho was plain and tasted watered down. The chicken salad was okay. The # 28. Salty, Spicy Shrimp and Steamed rice was nothing but sweet. Tasted like orange chicken sauce. Was not salty and definitely not spicy. Service was okay. Pho 777 is your place Fo Sure Vietnamese food within walking distance of the Downtown Casinos. The place is always packed with locals and non-locals and you'll have to wait for a table during the busy dinner service. Not the cleanest of places as the tables are sticky, floor a mess from dropped food with no time for workers to clean thoroughly and small plates wet and not dried well or cleaned off. We had to request two new plates of the four that we received. The staff is super busy and friendly but seemed to be rushing to get everyone in and out. Water is constantly replenished and a good amount of napkins are supplied - to clean and dry off our plates?!? For food, I don't recommend the Pad Thai (hey, it's Vietnamese and not Thai right!), but do recommend the Fried Imperial Rolls and Shrimp Rolls. One of my favorites since college, Pho 777 is nestled in the heart of downtown Reno, near the baseball stadium. The pho broth is one of my favorites, and the quick and efficient service adds on to the experience. Tonight was a little cold, so I opted for the Bùn Bó Huê, and this was such a great idea! Alongside hot tea, it was the perfect cozy meal! The broth itself was rich, with the right complexity and flavor, that all works together to make happiness in a bowl. First off, excellent service. Thank you to the staff. The restaurant was clean and staff cleaned the tables quickly to ensure a clean spot for future guests. I wanted to note that. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue. Be careful, as this is stated as being spicy and it is. And I enjoy spicy. This dish was very tasty and came in a large enough portion I was able to save some for lunch the following day. The menu just reads "spicy soup" but it has a lot of flavor. It has beef, tofu and noodles. I'm not a tofu fan typically, but theirs had a lot of flavor and was a good addition. I also believe they included blood cubes, which was not my favorite, but a check off my ever growing bucket list. I'll include photos of their menu which is as recent as 11/11/25. Went back to get another taste of some of the best fried rice in Reno. Pork and shrimp fried rice, spring rolls with peanut sauce and crispy wonton with a sweet chili sauce. Spring rolls were wrapped in rice paper and not fried. Lots of food on a Labor Day in downtown. The place was completely packed with several folks waiting for a table. Still service was fast and we ordered in just a few minutes. 777 is of course a lucky number and if you go here you'll feel lucky indeed. You just landed in a food jackpot. I've been seeing this place around Reno for a very long time and decided to finally give it a try! The pho and the eggrolls were pretty decent, honestly nothing too extraordinary, just your average pho. I do wish there was more seasoning in the broth and meat though. Service was kind and food came out quick, it wasn't too packed either inside. However, the location is a bit sketchy. There's a couple of homeless people wandering and residing around the building, I felt a little unsafe parking my car at the lot so I decided to pay $2 for street parking instead. I am perplexed how the ratings on this place are so low. The service is efficient but not overly friendly unless you actually engage, and then they're some of the nicest people you'll find anywhere. The place isn't always the cleanest, but the tables and chairs are. With the volume that goes through on a daily basis, I don't care if there's an occasional carrot slice on the floor. But the food...is excellent and hot and the servings are huge. This place is like leaving Reno for a few minutes and going to Chinatown in SF. If you aren't into that, no problem...leave this place to the locals who love it. We'll be back over and over again. read more

This review is for the new second location of Pho 777. We ended up at their new location because when we first stopped at the original location, it was closed for remodeling. The new place is great! Big windows and the newness of everything has really made the this dining space feel more updated and better. (The 2nd street location remodeling project will update that spot too when it's done!) Food was fantastic as usual! We ordered shrimp fried rice, veggie fried rice, shrimp pho and ,#26--a plate of rice, veggies, tofu and chicken, beef and shrimp. My favorite dish on the menu. (I did notice it was smaller sized compared to the serving portion at the original place.) EVERYTHING was flavorful, fantastic and delicious! We shared the dishes family-style and everyone loved the dishes. 5/5 for this fabulous dinner. So great to see José waiting on tables. He is always welcoming, attentive, professional, kind, caring and overall the best person. Highly recommend. We've been going to Pho for over 20 years and we are devoted fans! We thought it was great. It was our first time there and literally let maps pick a spot for us lol as we couldn't think of a place to eat that we could all agree on. Went on a Saturday afternoon, were seated immediately, food came in a reasonable time, and the restaurant was clean. Staff were all on top of bussing tables and waiting on customers. We had the wontons, which were good; the pad Thai, which we all enjoyed (even my discerning 12 year old); and the ribeye with the fried rice which was good but the least favorite of the three. We usually come to Pho 777 for their pho or their wonton soup with fried wontons, and they're usually really good. Yesterday, though, the wontons had an odd aftertaste--nothing terrible, but definitely not the quality we've come to expect from them. On the plus side, customer service is normally solid, and we appreciate how quick the food usually comes out--rarely a long wait. The 2nd location (303 3rd St) just opened and is quite nicely designed, but it's very cramped with far fewer tables than the 1st location. Parking is terrible mostly street parking, and it's difficult to find a spot, just like the original location. Service is fast; they bring water as soon as you sit. However, if you don't order quickly, the servers may move on to the next person without telling you they'll come back. Some servers speak a bit of Vietnamese, and a few are original staff from the 1st location who have been working there for years. Food Ordered: - Bò kho (beef stew with bread): Very salty, with lots of guts and carrots but very little meat. The bread was extremely hard ("special" bread). - Bún thịt nướng chả giò (vermicelli with grilled pork and egg roll): Somehow came with shrimp instead of just pork and egg rolls. The dish was very dry, as if it had been cooked for hours. The fish sauce had almost no flavor. - Phở tái bò viên (beef phở with meatballs): Very bland, with no homemade phở aroma. The beef was cheap, thinly sliced but tough and hard to chew. Meatballs were fine. - Phở chay (vegetarian phở): Had some flavor, but the owner said they normally use beef or chicken broth unless you specifically request vegetarian broth. Overall, the location is beautifully designed, but the location and parking are inconvenient, and the food quality is mediocre compared to the 1st location. I would not waste my time coming here. I came here twice. The first time I came during the afternoon, the food was decent, but when we were trying to split the checks they messed up the charges. Second time I came at night time and the food was unappetizing. Same issue with payments. We tried to split the check amongst the group and we were not getting charged correctly. read more

Very quick and decent pho spot to visit in Castle Rock and they always give me a big bowl of pho broth for the side if asked. Fast paced and I always see people go in and out, mostly in group of 2-6. I like their spring rolls. Large portions. I just wish noodles were more silky but a lot of pho places in the States don't use the silky noodles so I can live with that. there is no competition in Castle Rock. So I hope this place gets even better and stays long-run! read more

Got the 21. Thought it was gonna be like Cambodian dry noodle but it was gravy noodles which I wasn't crazy about. I had a few bites and left the majority. It came with soup. I didn't get a soup spoon, perhaps I'm supposed to drink it from the bowl? I borrowed my husband's spoon when he was done eating. The soup was refreshing. I can taste hints of rice noodle in there. I wondered if rice noodles were blanched in there or not. Mh husband has the pho which he finished. It said it was all right. This spot, you can park on the side streets. Parking meter is 2 hours max for $2, I believe if I remember correctly. It is next to a weed dispensary. It was fairly slow at about 3PM. We were in Reno for a dog show and I was craaaaving some pho. I regularly eat pho at least once a week, and just because I was out of state, that didn't stop me from finding a good spot. We actually have been to Pho 777 last year and remembered it was pretty good, so it was a quick decision to head over. We were greeted with the smell of boiling broth (which is one of my favorite things about a good pho place) even before we opened the door. It was around lunchtime on the weekend, but the restaurant wasn't too packed, and we were seated quickly and given water as well. It's a no-frills vibe inside the restaurant and the servers were friendly. It was a no-brainer for both of us to order the #1 Xe Lua, or combination pho. We didn't have to wait long for our steaming bowls to arrive to the table. What I liked most about the broth from Pho 777 is that it was clean and clear. While it might not have the intensity of flavor as "oilier" broths, it was solid and still flavorful, and hits the spot. Depending on my mood, I do not always want a richer broth, and that day I just wanted something simple that satisfied my cravings. While it might not look like it in the photo, there was also a good amount of meat in the bowl, and I was satisfied. The noodles were also cooked well. Nothing is worse than overcooked noodles. Chili oil was provided upon request, and was deliciously spicy. Additionally, their bowls are priced very affordably. I was perfectly full after finishing my bowl, so I'd say their portions are good for the price. Pho 777 also serves other dishes (such as rice plates and vermicelli noodle bowls) if you are not in the mood for pho. I saw others ordering various other dishes and they also looked pretty good. While walking around downtown Reno after, we also noticed signage announcing that Pho 777 was about to open a second location, so it's great that business is doing well! I'd definitely recommend Pho 777 for anyone who wants an affordable place to enjoy some solid pho without needing to drive elsewhere and leave downtown Reno. We will be back! read more

Came by for a bowl of warm broth and meat to cure my sickness. I got the rare steak and beef pho with extra veggies. After just coming home from Vietnam I was excited to try all things Pho and find a place that rivals my experience in Asia. This Pho was delicious. We were taught that each family have different spices and some of my favorite Pho has the same spices as spiced cider. Cinnamon and cardamom and I am proud to say that this Pho had similar flavor profiles! It was warm and spiced and smells absolutely beautiful. The meat and noodles were plentiful and filled me up nicely. I even took home the broth to drink the next day to help my sickness. We recently visited this place while we were in the area. Staying at Silver Legacy, it was a quick walk over to this location. Very convenient, I believe it was only a 5 minute walk from the row. It does seem like a whole in the wall, but do not fret. When we entered, we were seated immediately. They help our party of 6 quick, and served us not too long after. The majority of us order soup. I was staying across the street at the Reno suites, and I'd heard good things about this place so I decided to come over for dinner. Everybody was friendly and helpful, I was seated right away, the place was very clean.. I started out with the spring rolls. Shrimp, pork, and vegetables, in rice paper. I always order these if they are on the menu of a place I'm eating, because I love the freshness of them. Here, Overall, they were very good. They came with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. The pork was just a little bit dry, but the dipping sauce definitely made up for that. The shrimp were delicious. For my main course, I had the number 21 noodle dish . Shrimp, calamari, roast pork, meatloaf, (they called it meatloaf, but it was more of a Vietnamese meatball.). And fresh vegetables. You can have it with egg noodles or clear noodles, I had it with clear noodles. It also came with a delicious broth with herbs that you mixed with the dish. It was very good. It was a bit spicy, but within what I can handle for spice. As happens so many times, I tore into the noodle dish so fast, I forgot to get a photo For all I got, the prices were reasonable. I took one of my spring rolls, and half of my noodle dish back to my room for later. I basically got two full meals out of my dinner. . I want to come back and try more of the things on the menu. Noodles overcooked, soup bland and missing more beef bone flavor and staranise. Watered down. This place used to be really good. I asked for a side of mayo because I like mayo and it looked a little dry. Sandwich was average but I will say they don't skimp on meat or toppings, with the extra mayo and a drizzle of my curry sauce it was a solid 4. It has been a while since we visited here. We used to eat here a lot, however the area has deteriorated quite a bit and with the dispensary near there, parking is a bit difficult. We were driving by, wondering where we were going to eat and that there was parking in the front. They were a few homeless people in front of the liquor store, a little daunting, however harmless enough. The server that we did on us has been here almost since we started coming here. She remembered me immediately and greeted me warmly. What we ordered: #22 Mi Xào Mêm (mixed meat and fat noodles) Barbecue pork chop Pork and shrimp on fried rice They were not many people in here, so the food arrived fairly quickly. Food was good. Though it did seem to go downhill a little bit. The shrimp and pork was a little greasy. My son really enjoyed his number 22. Although it seemed more starch than meat.
