Every time I get dumplings here, they are good. Solid food and nice atmosphere. This spot is elite when the weather is nice.

We stopped by here after walking around the BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival. I had visited quite a while ago and remembered the dumplings being very good. This time, the dumplings were okay, but I remember them being better during my previous visit. I also recall them serving noodles, which were not available this time. I couldn't help but wonder if they are no longer making the dumplings from scratch, as several reviews suggest they may be using the Mila frozen dumplings available at Costco. I didn't confirm that myself, but it did make me curious. That being said, the dumplings were still decent and definitely hit the spot. The real draw of this place, however, is the outdoor venue they share with Abby's Hwy 40 Bar. It's a very inviting space to enjoy your food, relax, and watch some TV. The World Cup was on during our visit, which made for a fun atmosphere. I'd probably want to confirm whether the dumplings are made in-house before ordering them again, but the outdoor setting alone makes this a pleasant place to stop and spend some time. read more

We're visiting Reno and wanted some quick bite, so we stumbled on this place. There's parking in the back and it's affiliated with the bar, so parking allowed. We saw the choice of 5 for $7 or 10 for $13 xiao long bao dumplings and thought "that's a decent price point", hence we came. It's actually a food truck btw. They are straight up up-charging on frozen dumplings (Mila Dumplings) + bao buns you can buy from Costco. Insanity. Never again. read more

I think the business needs to mark their hours as flexible since I have been on two separate occasions during their listed as open hours and both times they were closed. There was a Burner Decompression event that was a lot of fun, with a lot of bars serving drinks, but where was the food? At the Dumpling Queen! Service was fast, and the food was good. While waiting for my spouse's late-night arrival at the airport, I decided to order dumplings and hang out in the patio area until it was time to go to the airport. The staff is SO friendly--both at the bar and food truck. Food was ready pretty quickly and was delicious. It was a beautiful evening, if a tad chilly, and everyone was so nice around the fire pits, where the coziest blankets rest on the wooden Adirondack chairs. My pup was with me, so of course, she made friends with everyone outside and got lots of pets from new friends. Highly recommend this spot for late-night drinks and eats. Really cute concept. It's located in a food truck nestled by hwy 40 bar and has a really nice patio setup. They have a projector, fire pits, and lots of seating. Dumplings and noodles from an Airstream trailer converted into a food truck? OH, YEAH!! What a concept...as of this writing, I've been by a few times and I plan to drop by on a regular basis whenever I'm in this area... Located in the "backyard" of the legendary Abby's Highway 40, one of the area's long standing "dive bars", this is quite the concept and a welcome addition to the local food scene. The ambiance is very welcoming...there's a couple of tall tables in front of the trailer that you can stand at to eat, as well as a raised long fire pit with comfortable wooden "beach style" wooden chairs around the pit and there's a few various short and tall tables scattered around the backyard. In cold weather, just take your food inside to enjoy the atmosphere and warmth of the bar. Getting your food is very simple...you walk up to the ordering window where menus are provided, place your order, then you pay and they hand you an electronic "beeper" that lets you know when to go to the pick-up window, where they have napkins and chopsticks available for your use (if you're not a chopsticks user, they also will supply you with a fork). Service has always been very prompt and the food comes out quickly...and always with a smile and a great attitude. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a discount on your order. I've tried a wide variety of their food... Their Xiao Long Bao Dumplings are available with Classic Pork/Shrimp & Pork/Chicken (you can order quantities of 5 [$7] or 10 [$13]). If you want pre made, store bought dumplings, this place ain't half bad. But don't go in expecting the dumplings to be hand made. The taste wasn't bad, but they are up charging for dumplings you can buy frozen and make at home. The outdoor seating is nice, sharing the parking lot with a bar. I'm sorry but the dumpling were actually pretty bad, there was just something off with the texture and taste and how watery they were. I have had grocery bought dumplings that were infinitely better than these. Wow! Such a great find while watching live music at The Abby Highway 40. The menu had many options and we tried the pork dumplings and the pork and shrimp dumpling. Try the dumplings with the chili crisp sauce (if you like a lil heat). We also had the bbq pork bao buns and the Dan Dan noodles. Everything was delicious. The staff are friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. It's a cute lil food 'camper' that was putting out great food to many people throughout the night. They were out of the ginger sauce and wish I would've had it with my dumplings. I had it with the chili crunch and was still pretty good. We waited around 15 mins or so and wish our dumplings come out warmer. (I blame it on the outdoor summer breeze). The outdoor courtyard was pretty empty when we go there (it was perfect actually) and I loved the ambiance of the fire pits and various seating areas, music and the bar next door. I found this dumpling place on Instagram and is so excited to try them out! We parked in the back and there's an open gate you can come in through. It goes straight to the dumpling food truck. We ordered the set of 10 pork and 10 shrimp&pork dumplings with all 4 different types of sauces (Black Vinegar & Ginger, Chili Crisp, Hot Mustard Aioli, and Soy Sauce). The pork soup dumplings are very flavorful, but I do wish there was more soup in each dumpling! The shrimp&pork dumplings were very good too! The dumplings did not break so there was more soup inside. When you first bite into it, the warm soup burst in your mouth with the flavors! The staff told us it was a 15 minute wait for everything. However, one of their steamers broke while it was cooking one of our orders and the guy offered us 5 extra dumplings because of the wait. This is amazing service! The aesthetics of the outside area gives a warm and welcoming feel with the extra large TV, pergolas, and fire pit seating. The areas around the fire pit was dirty from previous people spilling their sauces/food/drinks. I hate the cold, but sitting outside next to the fire pit was warm. I love their (2) BBQ Pork Buns! I wish we would have also gotten dumplings this time, because the Spicy Pork Noodles (Dan Dan Mian) are SPICY SPICY!!! We ordered the pork & shrimp dumplings with soy sauce and black vinegar w ginger. We weren't really a fan of the vinegar ginger sauce but the soy sauce worked just fine. *** Warning! If you just pour the sauce over the dumplings, the tray does not hold the sauce & the sauce will leak from the bottom. It spilled a little over my jeans but thankfully I had a napkin under to catch most of the sauce. The dumplings are cooked to order but for some reason ours were a little cold.. and we waited about half an hour for them. Came here with some friends hoping to enjoy some dumplings and hang out. It was mid December, and we had a good bit of snow coming down. At the time that we went, there weren't many covered spots available but that was a okay. I wasn't disappointed! Ordered a boatload of them, along with all the requisite dipping sauces. They have a shockingly robust beer selection which I was happy to see! Food came out decently quickly, but I noticed something while I was waiting which was what caused me to deduct the starts that I did. As we were waiting for our food, we saw folks bringing in dumplings. Not in nondescript bags, or in trays as you might expect. But brightly colored, mint green and blue resealable bags. They appear to be using prepackaged, frozen dumplings. I had wondered how they got such uniform shaped dumplings in a variety of flavors, and when I saw someone carrying a bag of MìLà brand dumplings into the back of the airstream trailer. Given the price they're charging, I'm not willing to support them in the future. So, if you'd like the same flavors at home you can make them yours at a rate of $40/50 dumplings and a steam basket. The beer was enjoyable, and the chili crisp was nice (Lee Kum Kee brand, if you're wondering), and I still had a nice time. read more

The outdoor seating is nice. I was worried it'd be cold but they had a nice fire going which kept us warm. The dumplings were yummy. I first ordered 10 of the pork and shrimp and I really liked it. They steam them right outside so it can take a bit to come out. I wish they would give us spoons so that we wouldn't lose too much of the soup in the dumplings. The chopsticks were good at picking up the dumplings and not coming completely undone though. Skin wasn't too thick or thin. 10 for $13 wasn't too bad of a deal. I then ordered another 10 of the pork and shrimp along with 5 of the classic pork to go in order to have some leftovers. The classic pork was definitely better. It had good flavor. I'd go back just for the pork ones. I didn't try the chicken one and it says a vegetarian option was coming. I really hate posting reviews like this, but it is very hard to recommend a place that serves the same dumplings that are in my freezer.. Up-charging for frozen dumplings you can buy at Costco is a wild move to me. The entire restaurant is based on selling frozen, bagged food. Don't get me wrong, the dumplings from the brand they buy are alright, but by no means are they restaurant quality or of homemade quality at all. The sauces and the noodle dishes are also from the same brand as well. If you are going to call yourself "Dumpling Queen" and then sell frozen, pre made dumplings, I feel like it is a little insulting to the genuine handmade, hand folded dumplings being served around town. It feels a little insensitive and definitely preys on the people who don't know any better about real, quality xiaolongbao that would then think this is the standard. I wouldn't be trippin on this place if they were just honest and upfront about what they are doing. Nowhere on their website does it say they are affiliated or serving Mila dumplings. I respect the hustle, but this is no different from me buying Hot Pockets and opening up a calzone spot called Calzone King. read more

The dish has a savory, nutty flavor with a kick to it. The only thing I did not like with this particular dish was how greasy it was. Lastly, I had to try the Bao Bun. Honestly, a bit disappointed. Dumpling Queen is a neat setup. The food operation is done out of an Airstream trailer in an epic outdoor patio area. Despite the small cooking area the food was delivered quick and hot. While the dumplings and buns were delicious I can't shake the feeling the dumplings were a pre-frozen option like Mila. Not a knock, they are good, but handmade dumplings would be a different level. The patio area nestled between too bars (and Lead Dog across the street) makes this a one stop shop for an evening night. I like what they're doing here at Dumpling Queen. The stationary food truck compliments the outside seating area of the bar next door. It has a large shared outdoor space with a huge gas fire pit along and plenty of chairs with a big projection screen hanging from the wall to watch movies. I'm used to eating XLB soup dumplings with a soup spoon and unfortunately these weren't soupy and even eating them with a chopstick and having the dumpling skin break, there wasn't any soup spilling out. Good flavor but wished it was a little more juicier. I have to give a 3.5 star for the food. The young guy serving me the food was pretty awesome! As he was steaming up the food he shared life stories with me and even drew little characters on the food plates to give it characteristics. I thought that was pretty cool.
