We were greeted upon entering. It's a cute little space and I looked over and saw two men working very hard and quickly in the kitchen. The gentleman that took our order was friendly enough. I ordered a Korean cheese corn dog with ketchup, mustard and sugar, an order of dumplings, pickled radishes, a plain croffle, and two drinks. That ran us about $24 with tax, it was a very affordable meal. I didn't want to push it and over order. I did want to try their popcorn chicken and wings. I ordered based solely on my cravings today and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious. I loved being able to order pickled radishes, that was a refreshing addition to my meal. I can't wait to come back. My son enjoyed his croffle and asked if when I bring him to get his haircut if we could stop by more often. We are already looking forward to our next meal! read more

Sorry late review (2 weeks ago 1/14/26) First time trying this place--such a cute little restaurant with about 4-5 tables. There was only one other couple dining in, and it was their first time as well. The owner was very pleasant, and it seems he and his brother also do the cooking, which gave the place a nice family-run feel. I ordered the 16-piece combo ($30) with two sides, which allowed me to try four different flavors. I went with two of their more popular options--Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy--along with K-Soy and Galbi. I really enjoyed the two sides; I chose the potato salad and mandu (dumplings). The first bite I took of these chicken wings reminded me of my childhood for some reason. I couldn't pinpoint it out, but the taste of it gave me a blurry flashback of someone's cooking. But my oh my this place was SO GOOD! My family and I ordered a regular, a soy garlic, and the popcorn chicken rice bowl flavored as sweet and spicy. Sides were fries and veggie sticks and dipping was ranch. I really loved how they breaded the chicken. Their breading taste felt like home and memory. Finally!! A Korean chicken joint in Reno/Sparks!! And it's locally owned! The pictures I took of the wings don't do it justice, because in real life their chicken is large, juicy and perfectly crispy. They also drench it in sauce so every inch is covered so no need for a dipping sauce. They have several flavors to choose from such as: garlic soy, K spicy, K soy, spicy soy sweet and spicy (yangnyeom) and dry rubs such as sweet cheese and spicy curry. I got a 20 pieces of wings with these flavors: garlic soy, K soy and sweet and spicy. I don't have the highest tolerance for spicy, but the sweet and spicy wasn't spicy at all for me. The other two sauces also had a touch of sweetness to them, but it didn't take away from the soy sauce flavor. We also had the Korean corn dog and the sweet cheese seasoned fries that both weren't photographed because they ended up in our stomach long before we got home. The Korean corn dog can be accessorized with ketchup, sugar and mustard, but is honesty good on its own already. The seasoned sweet cheese fries were good, but was a dry rub which I wasn't expecting. All were very good, but the garlic soy seemed a little light on that luscious garlicy sauce. The sweet & spicy are the Rosetta Stone. Hubby really liked the sweet cheese, but to me it was giving cool ranch Doritos. Good, just not my personal fave. The sides are BOMB! They call kimchi "Napa salad" so if you're looking for the classical accompaniment, don't be put off by what sounds like what a skinny girl orders in wine country! The K-tater salad is AMAZING! The garlic was my favorite of the two but both had impressive flavoring, although i didnt taste any spicy in the soy spicy. I was worried the soy would make it salty but that was not the case. They had a wonderful crunch as well. I went with onion rings as a side and was not let down there either. The only area this spot might be lacking is the ambiance and decor, as it still has an unfinished look about it. Heard a new Korean wings restaurant recently opened in the area so my sister and I came here on a Wednesday night for pick up. The ease of placing to go order online was awesome, very convenient now a days. We were able to place our order and head out from northwest reno as it was going to be 17 minutes for the order to be ready. By the time we got there it was a before 8 pm and there were 2 tables with people finishing up their meals, which was a good sign being that it was later at night. The vibrant walls made it welcoming. We were greeted almost immediately and was able to pick up our food without waiting. We ended up last minute ordering side dishes before we left! I hope to come back and try the food at the restaurant as the food cooled down by the time we came back home to eat. I will say the wings were pretty meaty. We held off on getting anything spicy in case my kids or step mom wanted to try the food. We ordered the Korean corn dog with sugar, fries seasoned with curry, and 8 wings with k-soy and sweet cheese. Overall, the food was more on the sweet side, a given for some korean food. I'm going to keep this short & sweet for all of those haven't tried this place. It's okay food, personally I'd never spend my hard earned here! The chicken isn't bad, it's also not amazing. I will say it's better than Raising Canes chicken, the food just tastes good because I didn't pay for it! Try for yourself & maybe your tastes buds will it enjoy it more than I did. Something that is under rated and sparce in Reno is some KFC ( Korean Fried Chicken). Well, now we've got the real deal. This unassuming store front is the place to be for a good lunch. When you walk in the door you are greeted by friendly staff that will welcome you up to the order counter. After we ordered, the food flew out of the kitchen. The chicken was hot, crispy and fresh and every sauce was a winner. Although, the real winner of the day was the Korean Corn Dog. The cheese pull on it was next level, truly a thing of beauty with just the right amount of sweetness. Holy Chicken Wing! I stopped in while in town for work & had a hankering for some wings. Selection is concise, yet it's a spectrum for a variety of flavors/tastes. I'm a big guy, and my order was 8 wings with the side of fries... and it was too much food (I haven't been SO happy in such a long time). We dropped by Basak Chicken to have a bit of a "snack". When we arrived , the restaurant had a few diners but not overly crowded, so we immediately walked up to counter to place our order. We ordered a Korean corndog, some drinks and a 16-pcs order of chicken: half spicy curry flavor and half soy garlic. While my brother and sister waited for the food, my niece and I went next door to get some boba and when walked back in, the proprietors were nice enough to let us keep our drinks. The Korean corndog was massive with a combination of savory and sweet flavor from sprinkling of sugar. The chicken was perfectly cooked, both flavors tasted good but I prefer the soy-garlic flavor more. It has a great umami flavor. Overall, our second visit to Basak Chicken was better than the first; we're definitely fans of this place. read more

We love us some crispy Korean Fried Chicken and as that goes, Basak knows what they are doing! Everyone was friendly and helpful. They were quick to help us choosing a flavors for lunch. We absolutely loved what we had. The sweet and spicy had the perfect spice level, the soy garlic was wonderfully garlic-y and the K Spicy had the kick we were looking for! All of the chicken was so perfectly cooked and wonderfully crunchy. The cheesy corn dog is a total must and the Korean corn dog was also amazing! This cute little shop is a 100% can't miss and we cant wait to come back for more! read more
