If you are looking for chicken tenders with robust flavor and juicy, this place is it. I had leftovers and the chicken was juicy the next day. Portions were generous and the service was friendly. They no longer have the chicken sandwich but plenty of other items to choose from. Looking forward to returning to try other things on the menu.

The first bite I took of these chicken wings reminded me of my childhood for some reason. I couldn't pinpoint it out, but the taste of it gave me a blurry flashback of someone's cooking. But my oh my this place was SO GOOD! My family and I ordered a regular, a soy garlic, and the popcorn chicken rice bowl flavored as sweet and spicy. Sides were fries and veggie sticks and dipping was ranch. I really loved how they breaded the chicken. Their breading taste felt like home and memory. It wasn't all too hard, like you'll bite a battering clump but it wasn't burnt or hard, it was just right. I really would like to know how they make their batter for their wings because it's just so dang good! And the gentleman who took our order, not sure if he was the owner, but he was friendly and welcoming. Best Korean chicken wings I've had so far here around town.

I've been reading great yelp reviews about Basak Chicken. I decided tonite was the night to give the restaurant a try and so glad I did!! I live right down the street so it's super close by. I think when you go to a new place it's truly hard to decide what to get/order! Tommy at the front counter was super helpful! I always say "what is the favorite"? He said the sauce is the sweet & spicy and the soy garlic! I decided to get the chicken & rice bowl (popcorn chicken) with the sweet & spicy sauce which was so very good! The bowl is huge! Perfect meal for two! But you know me, I could not stop with one entree. Therefore I ordered my husband's favorite chicken wings. They were Gigantic and super duper crispy with the soy garlic sauce which came with baby carrots, and celery, along with a cup of ranch dressing nice touch did not have to pay extra for the ranch! Well, I couldn't help my self, I had to order the Beef Corn Dog! Tommy asked me "do you want it with ketchup, mustard, and sugar"? I said "Sugar"? Did I hear you correctly? OMG!!! It was our dessert, although it needs a bigger Frank in the decadent homemade batter! Delicious! You haven't had a corn dog until you try it Korean Style!!! Tommy thank you for all your great recommendations I can't believe you've been in your establishment for almost a year and I haven't been here sooner!!! See you again soon! I'll be telling all my Friends all about your chicken and sauce!!!

Don't usually give 5 stars for "fast food" but this place has nice seating, super friendly service, & bellylicious food! If you like fried chicken you'll love it. Big, juicy, & crispy chicken. Flavorful sauces without the feel or taste of grease. My hubby wasnt sure about the sweet cheese fries and it ended up being a HIT along with the dumplings.

Still so amazing. Such friendly service and delicious food! This time we enjoyed tenders (k spicy and soy garlic) and onion fries (fries with yummy onion seasoning!) and a beef corndog. Recommend ranch if you're going spicy with the tenders as k spicy brings some heat. Quite possibly the best corndog I've ever tasted. Keep up the amazing work! We you!

Korean chicken wings keep coming up on my recommendations so finally had the chance to try them out. Everyone was super friendly at Basak-- we were greeted by multiple staff members. The location is small -- and it's kept very clean. I let the employee know that this was my first time trying it out and he gave some recommendations. I liked the flavors --the Galbi was really good. The chicken wings are really crispy and full of flavor. We changed things up and ordered sweet cheese seasoned fries with homemade ranch--10/10. Overall it was a good change to the "traditional " wing spots-- I'd come back and try out a couple more flavors.

If your taste buds are begging for the ultimate Korean fried chicken experience, stop everything and make your way here trust me, your life will never be the same. I've been here at least a dozen times since they opened, and each visit reaffirms why this spot is in a league of its own. Let's talk about the essentials. The 8 piece Sweet and Spicy wings paired with the Spicy Curry fries is a combo that should be illegal for how good it is. The wings? Absolute perfection. Sweet meets heat in the most balanced way, with seasoning that's bold but never overpowers. The crunch is everything seriously, it's the kind of crunch that makes you pause mid bite just to appreciate it. Inside, the meat is tender, juicy, cooked to utter perfection, and coated in that magical glaze that makes your fingers taste like a dream. These wings aren't just good they're an experience. Now, the Spicy Curry fries oh. my. gosh. These are the side that steals the show. That powdered curry seasoning hits you with earthy, aromatic richness and just the right hint of heat. Each fry is like a mini flavor explosion. My only teeny critique? Occasionally the fries get a smidge soggy. A tiny detail in an otherwise near perfect snack. And if you're feeling extra indulgent, do not, I repeat, do not skip the Korean corn dog. Two options sausage stuffed or gooey mozzarella. I am forever loyal to the mozzarella. It's massive, overflowing with stretchy, melty cheese that gives you pure satisfaction with every bite. The exterior is golden and crispy, the perfect vehicle for that sweet-savory dance of ketchup, mustard, and sugar. Imagine a churro had a lovechild with a cheese stick that's what you're biting into. Whether you're popping in for a quick snack or committing to a full meal, this place delivers every single time. Generous portions, bold flavors, and that kind of comfort that makes you already planning your next visit before you leave. If Korean fried chicken is your jam (and let's be real, whose isn't?), this is the spot that will make your taste buds sing and your foodie heart happy.

Open for less than a year and Basak is changing the chicken landscape in this area. At lunch on my visit, this counter service restaurant is busy. Stick with the crispy chicken and try all the flavors. Sweet n Spicy and the Soy Garlic are legit and flavorful. My favorite sides that I recommend is the Mandu and Potato Salad.

Honest take out review: Eat it at the restaurant but take it home if you must! The winner is the rice bowl: 5/5 for the whole experience! (Tap in for the food review down below) Some heavy hitters and some recommendations for your next order of Basak! They came in strong with some great phone skills, and it was very lively! I would say if you can, sit and eat your food as it was delicious bringing it home, but I'm sure it would've been better in the restaurant. -chicken rice bowl w/sweet & spicy: 5/5 WOW!!! My fiancée ordered this bowl and it has that everything touch to it. Savory, sweet, spicy, an umami flavor from the MSG, and mayo that's complemented by the greens for a fresh bite... absolutely breath taking of a dish! Plus service size is more than shareable for you if you're not too hungry. Otherwise this is the winner! -wings 4 w/sweet cheese: 5/5 Talk about a wing that packs a punch!!! Juicy and fresh, crispy enough to withstand the moisture from the steam on the way home... and a flavor... that says it all. I wasn't expecting a flavor to send me on a rollercoaster of an adventure. Savory but sweet, with a spicy that is dry to the bite but transforms as you combine it with the chicken. It's a great dry rub that's complemented extraordinarily by a delicious wing. K-radish: 5/5 -call it the palette cleanser, fresh and just a pickled bite you can use to accompany any bite. -k-potato salad/ 4/5 Interesting flavor that's oddly refreshing, and neutral in a smooth way... this was one of the more interesting bites of the night as you get a load of potatoes and egg in the mix, but you're met with some veggies that give a bite and a fresh nature to the dish that somehow works? It was good though. -corn dog (cheese&sausage) 3.5/5 Hear me out... this has a lot of potential for a 4.5/5 for me. Next time I will just be ordering it without the sugar and add the ketchup and mustard on the side. This gave me a very funnel cake vibe as you bite into the batter. The ketchup and sugar just add different depth of flavor that while unique, didn't mesh 100% to give you that bite you're looking for. The cheese pull though was amazing! So definitely a lot of potential for a follow up! Just know if you eat it fresh. It'll probably be a lot better than taking it home. So give it a try if you're daring. Overall, definitely recommending to friends for their chicken rice bowl! Deliciousness!!

Crunchy, juicy chicken! I ordered 2 chicken bowls ($12 each), 4-piece sweet cheese wings ($7.50), kimchi ($5.50) and 2 k- beverages ($3 each). The chicken bowls were huge! They were filled with crispy chicken, rice, greens, mayo and your choice of sauce. We did the sweet and spicy and k spicy. Both were great! The sweet cheese wings was really interesting and probably my favorite flavor! It has a thin super crunchy batter and tender juicy chicken inside. Amazing and unique flavor! The kimchi was good and the so were the drinks. A little pricey for small sides/drinks, but still yummy. The restaurant is small with minimal seating. It is super clean and has a cool vibe with Korea music in the background and posters matching the theme. The staff was also very friendly. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and they were very helpful. They seemed genuinely happy we were there. 10/10 for crispy chicken, flavor and service!

One of the better Korean restaurants in town! I think Basak Chicken has quality-tasting chicken with some flavorful sauces. The place has a few tables to sit down and enjoy the food. The staff are friendly and quick with the order. I and my friend ordered the 8 piece chicken wings with the Soy Garlic and Cheese sauces. Both were very good, though I was much more impressed with the soy garlic. The meat was tender and hot. The radishes added a good sour contrast to the sweet and deep wing flavors. The potato salad was okay. Its texture was too grainy and mushy than I wanted. Otherwise, I will definitely come back. I was impressed with the food here. Total order was around $30-$35 for two people.

Finally!! A Korean chicken joint in Reno/Sparks!! And it's locally owned! The pictures I took of the wings don't do it justice, because in real life their chicken is large, juicy and perfectly crispy. They also drench it in sauce so every inch is covered so no need for a dipping sauce. They have several flavors to choose from such as: garlic soy, K spicy, K soy, spicy soy sweet and spicy (yangnyeom) and dry rubs such as sweet cheese and spicy curry. I got a 20 pieces of wings with these flavors: garlic soy, K soy and sweet and spicy. I don't have the highest tolerance for spicy, but the sweet and spicy wasn't spicy at all for me. The other two sauces also had a touch of sweetness to them, but it didn't take away from the soy sauce flavor. We also had the Korean corn dog and the sweet cheese seasoned fries that both weren't photographed because they ended up in our stomach long before we got home. The Korean corn dog can be accessorized with ketchup, sugar and mustard, but is honesty good on its own already. The seasoned sweet cheese fries were good, but was a dry rub which I wasn't expecting. Overall everything was great, but next time I may not buy a 20 piece because the wings were large. Can't wait to try out different flavors next time!

As someone who occasionally likes to eat alone, I really appreciate that. I've visited several times over the years, including recently under the newer ownership. Unfortunately, some of my old favorites aren't quite the same. I used to love their deep-fried oysters, which are no longer on the menu and have been replaced with deep-fried mussels. The kimchi stew recipe also seems to have changed and wasn't as memorable as before. That said, they still serve my favorite gopchang (beef small intestine). When cooked properly, it gets wonderfully crispy and reminds me of Mexican tripas tacos--definitely worth ordering. I'd personally skip the bibimbap appetizer. The rice was hard, the ground beef was cold, and it felt like it relied too heavily on the gochujang sauce for flavor. Even with those changes, I'll continue supporting this business. Service was also attentive.

We went on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was probably about 45% full, so it was busy but not overwhelming. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly worker. I let her know I was meeting friends, and she allowed me to go find them and take a seat. The restaurant itself was nice, clean, and had a comfortable atmosphere. Our server was also very nice and brought us menus while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. Once everyone got there, we started with a few appetizers. We ordered the fried dumplings, popcorn chicken, and I got the kimchi soup. The soup was delicious, and the dumplings and popcorn chicken were both really good too. Honestly, I could have ordered multiple rounds of those alone, but we were there for Korean BBQ and did not want to fill up too much on starters. For our first round of meats, we ordered beef belly, bulgogi, spicy chicken, and garlic pork belly. The food came out quickly, and it arrived on a robot, which was pretty cool. All of the meats were great, but the garlic pork belly and bulgogi were definitely the standouts. For our next round, we ordered those two again along with Hawaiian steak and chicken galbi. Once again, everything was tasty. We finished our final round with more beef belly, New York steak, and miso pork belly. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed. To my surprise, our server noticed that one of my friends had brought me a birthday gift bag, and the staff came over and sang happy birthday to me. That was a really nice touch and made the night feel even more special. Overall, this was a good experience. The food was fresh and flavorful, the service was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the birthday surprise was appreciated. I would definitely come back.

I kind of regret doing that because my lips are actually numb from all the salt regardless. It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.
