    All the Meats!!!!

So I came about a month ago and I'm behind on my review . No new pics. They weren't to crowded got there about 5:30pm before the rush came in . We had dumplings for appetizers and they were delicious. We ordered various meats and they were all delicious . Service was quick too. It did definitely get busy as the night went on. The only draw back was the rice. We wanted to get some more rice and they were behind on having rice available kind of bummer. We did have rice paper tho. All in all great food good company and good service . Definitely be back . Enjoy !!!!

    Beautiful entry way!

SIU Korean barbecue is solid Korean barbecue restaurant. I've come here many times over the years and appreciate the authenticity of the menu and experience. The menu is full of cups of meat and not found at the other KBBQ restaurant and generally speaking quality is there on all of it. We enjoyed the birthday celebration here the other night, and discovered a few new favorites, including the pork GALBI, which is delicious, sweet, tender cuts of lean pork marinated in the sweet sowing which grows up wonderfully and delivers a nice char. I also am a huge fan of the Sydney slice of beef tongue that cooks chicken. Did that in a little bit of sesame oil salt or add a bit of the seasoning spice from your condiment tray and throw that in lettuce or radish wrap, and you are set. They also offer a couple of specialty cuts at dinner only like the thousand stripe and premium GALBI, which is a crosscut beef short rib. I personally think their short rib is the best in town as it comes out nicely marinated and extremely tender with just the right amount of fat versus some of the others that I've tried which have a substantial amount of fat versus meat. There was also a specialty cut of fatty pork that I cannot remember the Korean Nemo, but that took a long time to cook, even though it was in sliced, but then result was this delightfully crispy piece of meat that could be eaten on its own or added to another wrap that you were creating and was quite enjoyable. The reason for decreasing into four stars is just service. That's where the other KBBQ has this place beat. Part of a we were seated at two tables right next to each other and for some reason, it seemed one table received more attention than the other and after a point it seemed that the server just stopped coming back altogether, and they also forgot items multiple times throughout the meal left water glasses on filled and didn't clear place on the act. Normally not a big deal but you're consuming so much as a larger party and you're dealing with brought meat. You are putting your diners at risk for not helping to make sure that we maintain a clean and sanitary dining experience. Even to the end of the meal, the server did not come back to see if we wanted to order more food or bring us a check and I had to get up and go to the front to ask for it. Lastly, I was shocked that they did not have any hot sake in the restaurant to order nor did they offer any type of dessert either included or for purchase. We came to celebrate a birthday and can't be the only people that stop here for special occasions, so I would assume that there are people that want that when they're dying here and it was just surprising to hear that. Again, this is a great Korean barbecue spot and then I will certainly return to you and hope that the service experience improved so that the dining experience overall is that much better.

The restaurant is under new management. Joyce and her team are absolutely amazing! I know how to cook, so the food is always delicious, haha. The options of meat are good. A wide variety is available to choose from. The seating is comfortable, and the smoke fans positioned over each booth create an excellent experience. A person will not leave the restaurant smelling like food or smoke.

Amazing mixture of fresh green vegetables and mushrooms.

This little neighborhood gem was a big deal. We loveKorean BBQ and this place didn't disappoint. Some of the best meats we've had. Marinated to perfection and amazingly tender. The tri-tip bulgogi and the brisket bulgogi were to good to find words. Both taste bud sensations. The Hawaiian beef steak, New York steak and the Gordon steak were all scrumptious. We tried all 3. Spicy chicken galbi and the spicy pork belly were two more favorites. I can't express enough what an amazing experience this was, but one thing for certain, whenever we are in Reno we are eating Korean Bbq. Our compliments to the staff, especially Chef Kim and his assistant Joshua. Mrs Kim also made sure our visit was memorable. And many thanks to Mikey who was our waiter.

The customer service is good and awesome and the place as always is great. Just the food. They run out of food. Ugh no gob Chang or hi mul luck. They told us the gob Chang will be ready in 20 minutes and it's been an hour still no gob Chang. I'm disappointed. But we come here quite often. I hope next time we will get the dinner stuff.

    Automated servers

Very disappointed in the place. When we walked in and saw the automated servers my daughter asked if they actually used them and the host rudely said "yeah of course we do!" We told them that this was our first time doing Korean BBQ. The host sat us and didn't give us any instructions, we just had to figure it out ourselves. Some of the meat was bad and we couldn't even eat it. When I complained while checking out, the girl at the counter didn't even apologize or seem concerned. We paid $230 for 5 people DEFINITELY will not recommend or come back.

Tri tip bulgogi on the grill and miso/spicy pork belly on the side waiting to go on the grill next.

Amazing food and fun robot service that helps bring your order for an easy non-stop bbq experience. Owner is always super friendly and the staff is very helpful. The price is a little steep, but the quality and amount of food is well worth it. They offer all you can eat appetizers and meat ranging from chicken, seafood, pork and beef. We come here several times a year and love the tri tip bulgogi and miso/spicy pork belly. Definitely come hungry and I would recommend checking it out.

Delicious kbbq. The meat were great and satisfying quality. Sufficient variety for a meat lover's paradise. The pork and the beef were well marinated, tender and heck tasty. We did not order any chicken so I can't comment on that Service was fast and responsive. We went for lunch on a saturday, so I also cant speak for when restaurant is at its busiest hours. The place is cozy and nice enough for a business meeting or a date with a loved one. I recommend

The server kinda overcooked the meat a bit. Except for the beef brisket, the rest were pretty solid. The grilled cold noodles were fire! Kimchi fried rice? Eh, you can skip it. Probably the best meal I had in Phoenix. Around $50 per person

I also explained that as a business owner, he should know the laws regarding service animals. The first visit, service was warm and timely. Food was great. The second time we had gone, a few instances made our visit a bit uncomfortable due to the service and food quality. When we first arrived, the grill had white bubbles upon being fired up. The server grabbed us another when we asked but her tone while informing us it was normal was passive aggressive, almost as if our request was weird and inconvenient. She would come up later to critique our grilling because our gas went out a few times but I think the one we were sat at wasn't working well as this had not happened before here or any other kbbq spot we've visited. After this, it seemed like we were a burden. We asked for a plate to place cooked meat away from the raw ones and it seemed like the supervisor for the night came up to us for this. She asked why we would need one and then snapped that they couldn't due to something like they were already portioned. We were there 4 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be any wait up front, and yet 1.5 hours in and the server became more insistent on checking on us (they only came up twice prior to this after we flagged them down). On top of this, the food quality since the last time had declined just as much. The rice cakes weren't cooked fully and cold, the cheese for the corn cheese rubbery, and ice cream freezer burnt. For the price of $40 (where we do the cooking mind you), you would expect better efficient service and food. We will not be visiting again.

It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.
