So confused by anything other than five stars for this place. I feel people are too pedantic and critisize for the smallest of things. I thought I would go to Toucan Sam's Buffet on Saturday night. Mistake. So I looked next door and found Red Bloom. What a great find. First of all, all the reviews note speedy and effective service and they were correct. Spot on. A spaceous, clean and efficient place. Now the food. Started with the tempura shrimp and Chinese broccoli. Wow!! The shrimp were large and succulent. The batter was perfection and the oil was fresh. I mean wow wow wow! The brocoli was very interesting. Served with a tasty sauce with garlic. So good. Wife had the pork belly adobo. Holy beans was this good. I would go as far as to say--best pork belly I've ever had. The servings are massive. This is easily a dish for two. I was blown away at this tender and tasty dish. All large plates come with a big bowl of rice fyi. Wowzer. I ordered the Szechuan chicken, it had two hot peppers to indicate very hot. It wasn't. It was seasoned perfectly, don't be shy, try it. The bowl is huge, again, plenty for two. Bell peppers, onions, and tons of tender white meat chicken. This is one tasty dish. Again, also a big bowl of rice. Wow again. Overall, this place was AMAZING. I love being surprised like this, especially after the let down of the mile long buffet line. update: went on a busy weekend sunday recently there were only two servers one on each section it took 20 mins to make non alcoholic drinks, the ancients drink and a lychee tea 30 mins for the food to come out this was a long time for the wait dim sum was ok sui mai was good, the best out of all shrimp har gow fell apart and was not presented well sauteed chinese broccoli was ok mediocre service hurt this review i suggest to hire maybe one more server to cover as a floater, as food and drinks were not delivered in a timely manner definitely more headcount to cover grounds read more

"Went to Red Bloom in the Atlantis for my wife's birthday and honestly, the food was a huge miss. The service was great, That's about it. My Thai coconut ramen had zero coconut flavor and was tangy maybe even like a Mustard flavor -- literally the worst ramen I've ever had, couldn't even finish it. Wife's Szechuan chicken wasn't spicy at all, despite the menu, and they only gave us one tiny bowl of chow Mein for the whole table even though we ordered two entrees. Everything was super bland and just... not good. For the price, I'd skip it We also ordered three appetizers and they were a miss. The crab rangoons were rock hard, like they were air-fried instead of fried -- I thought I was gonna chip a tooth. The shrimp-stuffed crab claws and potstickers were just meh, and the potstickers definitely didn't taste homemade. Only thing that was decent was the calamari. We chose the lunch special of Beef Bolgogi Bowl and a special they were doing for Reno Food and Drink Week. Servive got a little slow as we saw most get served that had gotten there after us. We decided to try this place during the food and drink week. One of us ordered the dish for food and drink week, and the other ordered from their regular menu. We were seated right away, and our server toon our order not too long afterwards. About 20 minutes after ordering she said our food should be out soon. Another 20+ minutes passed and our food app arrived, followed shortly after by the entrees. Our server apologized for such a long wait and she offered to make things right to ensure that we were otherwise happy, which she did. We've been exploring different dim sum restaurants and recently tried Red Bloom inside the Atlantis in Reno on a friend's recommendation. The service was on point and attentive, with the staff making some great recommendations. Although the food was good, it doesn't make the top of our list for go-to spots. They offer a lovely selection of fine teas and herbal teas that complimented our meal. We started with a unique appetizer of Shrimp Stuffed Crab Claws that was OMTasty!! The Make-Your-Own Pork Belly Bao Buns were an interesting twist, though not quite what we had envisioned as we prefer traditional dim sum. The 1/2 Peking Duck, Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai, and Sautéed Chinese Broccoli were delicious, but the star of the meal was finishing with the Ginger Crème Brulée, which had a delightful hint of ginger and definitely topped off our meal. Red Bloom is an alternate name for the red tide, the deadly algae that infects shellfish. Not sure which member of the marketing team okayed this, but someone may want to rebrand. The food is either mediocre or very bad. Shrimp Hargow are fine, Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings are bland but are nice and crunchy on the outside. The Vietnamese Chicken Salad is atrocious - everything is flavorless, and everything was incredibly soggy, like it had sat there and soaked. Mongolian Beef and Beef Bulgolgi are interchangeable in flavor and appearance, one slightly sweeter than the other, but both are stir fried and just fine. Service is slow, but I try not to be too harsh about lunch on a Tuesday, but I can't understand their timing. We ordered a small carafe of sake at the beginning of our meal, and we had to ask about it repeatedly until it came as our dessert. Unfortunately, we did not order dessert so we were stuck awkwardly sipping sake with no food to eat with no explanation for the delay. I don't think it's the staff - the lone server was clearly trying, I just don't think management puts much effort into maintaining this particular restaurant. read more

Everything was excellent. Went for the lunch special and got General Tso's chicken. Showed 3 peppers for sponginess and it was perfect not too spicy at all. Got a Hot and sour soup as the side which was delicious and perfect heat. Even spicier than the chicken but it was perfect. We came back for lunch today to give this place another go and I'm glad we did bc we really enjoyed our experience. Our server Reyna was on point!! Excellent service! I brought my family back with me again. After taking our order they asked if we would also like silverware! That makes me so happy! I tried the crouching tiger cocktail. It was very refreshing however we could not taste any coconut rum whatsoever? It did taste of a high end lemonade, a zinger! I ordered the da lat pho once again and simply asked them if they could cut the meat off the bone for me bc I struggled trying to do it myself before. They did:) and it came cut into pieces which made it so much easier to eat and enjoy this time. I get the appeal of having the bone in the presentation but them doing all the messy work made it so much better. My hubs got the Thai curry coconut ramen. He asked for chicken but they accidentally gave him tofu. When we mentioned it they happily brought a side of chicken for him. He enjoyed it but said his fave was their kimchi rice. We got Sui Mai, Edamame, and Fried Prawns for appetizers. They were good, but standard nothing spectacular. For dinner my fiancé ordered the Mongolian Beef (Comes with a side of white rice) and I ordered Kimchi Fried rice. When I say the flavors were on point and hit the spot, take my word for it. The best kimchi fried rice I've ever had was in Vegas, so to find some in Reno that is just as good was shocking, it's the best kimchi fried rice so far in Reno. I enjoyed that. The portions are big and required a to go box, but I left completely satisfied and only spent $56 for all of it. Will be returning very soon. read more

I'm hooked on the Thai curry chicken noodles soup.i also got to ha e a large bottle of peligrino on ice with lemon.
