There are a lot of pho options in Reno, yay! This place was close to GSR where we were staying this time so it was convenient but also very good! The chicken pho was delicious and I would return. Typical price for a bowl, around $15. They do not offer tendon or tripe so if that is what you are looking for you might want to check another restaurant. They were not too busy the evening we went so there were plenty of seats in the smallish restaurant and the service was quick. It was cozy and a comfortable vibe. We will def come back next time we are staying in Reno. read more

Tried the Pho #4 with Raw Steak & Flank Steak and Honey Walnut Prawns w/ fried rice. Honey walnut prawns were battered and fried crispy; mayo sauce was slightly sweet in flavor with a hint of lemon. Upgraded to Fried rice for extra $4. Fried rice was good with smoky toasted flavor; would have been better if they added meat in the fried rice. The pho broth was pretty standard. It doesn't have any distinct noticeable difference from other phoa I've had. They give good amount of meat and noodles. The pho here was really good and close to all of the casinos so you don't have to travel far. The service was A++++ and I would come back for how kind and attentive they were. I walked in and it smells just like my mother-in-law's house! My MIL is Vietnamese and she cooks amazing food and this restaurant smells exactly like her kitchen, her home. I heard great things about this place, and actually a good friend of ours happens to know the owner, so finally we went here to confirm people's positive experience. We ordered the egg roll and salt and pepper chicken for appetizers. Their eggroll was so delicious. It was crispy, had loads of wood ear fungus (my favorite), vermicelli noodles and so much more! Their salt and pepper chicken was so bomb because the chicken was meaty, juicy, and breading was on point. I ordered the rare steak pho and you can tell they cooked their broth to perfection. It reminded of how I cook my pho actually and how my MIL cooks her. It really tastes like they didn't take the shortcut by using phở powder. I really enjoyed their pho and will have to try more when we come back here. My husband ordered his favorite dish bún bò hue, and had me try his and tasted very good too. The only thing he commented on his was that they overcooked the noodles for it was too soft. My MIL order chicken phở and she loved it. Overall SF Kitchen gave us an authentic feel. First time checking out SF Kitchen here in Reno just off of the freeway at Mill St and Kietzke. They're said to serve both Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Let's check it out! Of course I had to try the Pho! I'm a sucker for a good Pho. So first--the restaurant was just what you would expect. A spacious dining area, wooden tables and chairs. Nothing too fancy. A chill ambiance, not too much for decor, but I didn't come there to stare at walls, I came to grub! Lol My buddy Yasir and I would grab seat in the back and chat and we'd both order a combination bowl with Flank and Rare steak. Verdict? Fast and friendly service, a steaming hot bowl of Pho with a delicious broth. I wish for more protein in this bowl please! Places like this always seem to serve you more noodles than meats, but I digress. The broth was killer and that order if spring rolls we got with that favorful pork and it's marinade... Mmm! Overall a traditional Vietnamese dining experience. How does it rank against places like Pho 999 or even an SK Noodle? There could be some friendly competition there, but all in all, I love how some restaurants strive to make slight deviations and distinctions in their dishes that set them apart. SF Kitchen does it. Came to Reno for the weekend and were craving pho. After seeing the great reviews, we decided to give this place a try--and we're so glad we did! We ordered the rare beef & flank pho, the flank steak & oxtail pho, and my mom had the sweet & sour pork with pork fried rice, pot stickers, and egg flower soup. This is our GO TO PHO-SPOT when we stay at GSR. It's like a 4 minute drive, super fast and hella good flavor. They got Chinese entrees too, if you have picky kids that don't eat soup. HEADS UP! Not a Reno local, so my expectations were pretty low for Pho in Reno; however SF Kitchen's pho was actually pretty good! Ordered #1 beef pho and shared a spring roll and egg rolls with my party. Beef Pho - For Reno I thought this was a solid 5/5, but maybe if I was in SoCal this would have been 4/5, so still good none the less. The broth had a good amount of spices, and meat portions were generous. Egg Rolls - I loved the filling of the egg rolls, a bit overcooked but not too bad. The filling had a good amount of meat and veggies. Spring Rolls - a bit boring, but nothing terrible compared to what I would get in SoCal. The location is easy to find and the actual space itself is very cute and cozy and comfortable. I was greeted by a very kind and attentive lady with a warm smile and she checked in multiple times to make sure everything was to my liking. I ordered the Rare Steak Pho and at 16.50 a bowl it is well worth it, the amount of food I got easily filled me for the rest of the day. The broth is flavorful and hot like it's freshly made. Even on a hot summer day like today it was so appetizing and surprisingly refreshing when I was finished. I've had chicken Pho but decided to try the beef pho (#2) on the menu. Our food came out-- it was perfect temperature for a cold day! I liked the taste of the broth-- I meant to try the beef broth but it's on my list for next time. Loved the meat-- tender and flavorful. The rice noodles were good-- I can appreciate that it wasn't overwhelming noodles compared to the meat. I added some Sriracha sauce for a kick. Probably the worst experience I've had at a Chinese restaurant! *I wanted to have a small cup of egg flower soup. I was told that they don't do that. I'd have to order a large bowl. They would put the rest I hadn't eaten into a container to go. So...I ordered the large bowl (+$12). The soup was unpleasantly thick, maybe a result of too much cornstarch. (Why weren't they willing to serve me a small cup as is usual in Chinese restaurants?) * I ordered chow mein. I got a bowl of noodles and pork. Except for a few slices of onions, it had no vegetables. (Usually chow mein includes stir fried vegetables.) When I requested vegetables, I was given a plate of steamed vegetables. I needed to be cut the broccoli in pieces because they were large florets. (Actually I wasn't given a knife. I had to use a fork and my teeth.) I was charged for this plate of steamed vegetables. Servers took about 15 minutes to come by and take our order and another 30 for the food to come out. However, when the food came, it was delicious. The kids ordered the kids pho and they loved it.
