Pork Potstickers, Plain Fries, and Esquite Fries. YUM!

Amazing. I cannot say hoe incredible the food was after working up an appetite. It was so delicious. I love thier pot stickers and loaded fries. The chef was super nice.

I sure do feel LUCKY that the potluck is in Reno! Love this food truck. Gave them a go for the first time at food truck Fridays and was very impressed! I'm a sucker for elote so when I saw crispy wonton elote tacos - I knew I had to try them. They were so delicious. Crisped to perfection but not overly oily. We also tried the bulgogi potstickers and I am still dreaming of those potstickers. I wish I could buy them in bulk and have them at home - so delicious! This truck is totally unique to any other food truck I've eaten at, staff was great despite being busy, food came out hot and fresh. What more can you ask for.

Food trucks usually aren't as creative as I would like them to be. But Potluck is definitely one of my favorite trucks in Reno. I LOOOOOOOVE Elote and they do it so well that I ordered up myself an order of Elote Tots. No need for chicken, these tots were top 10!! We also ordered up the tacos which were a great fusion take and priced as expected. Food trucks don't really have ambience or discernible service differences because you order at a window and they give you the food and you go away. So really it's just about speed and food quality and Potluck get's great scores on both of those for me. I don't know how often they are at the location that I caught them, but it is a great spot. A big deck off Virginia Street and Martin with a number of establishments nearby to get a refreshing drink.

Good if you're craving some comfort food! Huge portion of the fries I got at Feed the Camel. Chicken and elote combo was a winner, but the entire portion was way too heavily salted, especially for such a hot summer day. Remove some salt and it would've been perfect!

Pork Potstickers w/ Sweet Chili Sauce

Even though we have heard great things about this food truck, we did not have the best of LUCK with them (see what I did there?) We visited the Potluck Truck during Feed The Camel (arguably Reno's best Food Truck event but that's for another review.) The line was decent so the guys were a bit behind, which is totally forgivable during their main rush. Since a few items were out of stock, we went for the traditional pork potstickers and an order of churros for good measure. I know that the draw is that their potstickers are hand-made from real ingredients, but they definitely tasted like the frozen grocery store variety. Filling was not bad, just not special. The wrapper wasn't particularly crisp or flavorful and they were relatively small. I think my favorite part was the sweet chili sauce that was drizzled on top... because really, who doesn't love sweet chili sauce? The churros were definitely out of a bag with regular old Hersheys syrup. I can't ding them for that though because they were still tasty enough! Overall, I think I was disappointed that we didn't get an outstanding potsticker from a food truck with that namesake. We've had amazing dumplings from a food truck before so our expectations were set very high!

Potluck Truck at the Emerson on Sunday Funday Valentines evening ~ woohoo!! andd serving up a Special Valentines Get Lucky Box this was a PERFECT meal for my hubby and I!! Get Lucky Box cam with Four (4) Potstickers, Four (4) Wonton Tacos, Side of Plain Fries and Two (2) Dessert Wonton Tacos for $25 per Box ~ count us IN!! We opted for 2 pork with peppers, onion & thai chili sauce and 2 buffalo chicken with chicken, carrot, celery, cream cheese & buffalo sauce potstickers, 2 cheeseburger with ground beef cheese, lettuce, tomato & cheeseburger aioli and 2 chicken elote with shredded chicken, corn, cojita & sour cream wonton tacos and the dessert wontons had chocolate, cream cheese with fresh strawberries ~ yummilicious goodness! (apologies for the pictures having an odd color to them, we were inside with a movie playing (insert oopsy face emoji) These were flavorful, fresh and tasty!! Potluck Truck is a yummyyy addition to the food truck scene!! Enjoyed having the pop-up option for food while we enjoyed our Sunday Funday Valentine evening out at the Emerson. Definitely unique take on wontons and potstickers with flavorful combinations to included fresh ingredients. Potluck has put passion into their small bites for tasting experience.

    Hot Cheeto Fries
    Christiane W.

I've had their food a few times at The Eddy. Everything I've tried has been pretty amazing. So let's talk about their food: Hot Cheeto Fries: If you love hot Cheetos, you'll love these fries. It has a perfect blend of spicy, crunchy, and cheesy flavors. The fries, ground beef, velveeta cheese, lettuce, tomato, and hot Cheetos work so well together. This is a great dish to eat while drinking at the bar. Elote Chicken Fries: I'm such a big fan of these fries. I crave them often! The simplicity of this dish, the flavors, and the overall taste....makes these fries pretty magical. Fries, Chicken, Elote, and cotija cheese....bam, you got this tasty dish. After eating this, I've always wanted more. Cheeseburger Wonton Tacos: These wonton tacos are loaded with all of the flavors of a cheeseburger. So crunchy, flavorful, and delicious. Topped with a cheeseburger aioli which is fire. Chicken Elote Wonton Tacos: These are tasty. All of the flavors of this taco work so well together. Add the crunch of the wonton taco, they become slightly addicting. Squeeze some lime on top and it really elevates this taco. Buffalo Chicken Potstickers: This is a good little snack, especially when you're having a couple drinks. They're not your typical potstickers. These are crispy filled with delicious flavors. I really liked the combination of the Buffalo sauce and the cream cheese in these tasty treats. Every dish comes with a fortune cookie, which is a fun addition. Now let's talk service! The guys on the truck are always friendly and great. I experienced an interesting situation with a gal that was the cashier. I ordered a bunch of food: 12 wonton tacos and 2 Elote Chicken Fries. She even read back my order to me. When we got our food, we only received half of our order. The cook looked so confused because he made what was on the ticket. It appeared that she failed to write everything I ordered, down on the ticket. This was their last order of the night, so they had stopped making food after us. He apologized and gave us some of our money back. It was disappointing because that was our dinner and now we had to figure out what else to eat since we didn't have enough food to fill us up. Despite this situation, I will still order food from this food truck because it's that good. Hopefully next time, I'll be able to enjoy all of my food that I order.

Wow! What an awesome food truck this is! My company used them for our version of "Food Truck Friday" and we will definitely be using them again! Not only is it quick and friendly service but the food is oh so tasty! We bought one of each thing and I gotta say; there wasn't a single item on the menu I didn't like! The toffee was made by a family member and was a perfect ending to a great meal. If anyone is looking for a vegetarian friendly, exceptionally hospitable and super delicious vendor for your next gathering then look no further! Potluck is where it is at! Thank you guys for everything, can't wait to have you back! Our customers LOVED you!

Traditional potstickers and chicken elote tacos
    Shane C.

Late night cravings! Every time I see this food truck, I have to order the chicken elote tacos. I love that they use fried wonton wrappers for the shells and the crisp on the potstickers are perfection! $8.99 for 3 tacos and $7 for 3 potstickers. You can usually find them at the Stick where they also serve brunch and bar foods like wings, burgers, jalapeño poppers, etc. The service is always great and fast. I can't wait to go back and try the ahi nachos and bulgogi potstickers!

We always go for the shared plates, it's more expensive but worth it. Some things to consider before you visit: -No reservations, first come first serve. Most nights it's a 30-45 minute wait if you don't get there right when they open. We always put our name down and walk to Chapel for a cocktail while we wait. - Like many of the reviews state, it does get pretty loud. It is part of the experience. The later the night gets, the louder the music and the dimmer the lights. Don't be the annoying person that asks them to adjust either of those things. If that's not your vibe, you should dine elsewhere. - Seating is limited, not the place to have people just trickle in/ come and go. If you are dining here, everyone should show up on time. - They do have gluten free mods, but they are not available on the weekends. - I would not recommend for vegans We have tried basically the entire menu. Our favorites are the duck fried rice, Caesar, mushroom croquettes, soba noodles, ten layers of pork, pork gyoza, shrimp fritter, Tokyo fried chicken, chicken meatballs, rice tots, and mushroom jar. Everything we've tried is outstanding, even the beef tongue! Drinks are all really good, only note I have is that the wine pours are pretty small. If you haven't been here, definitely add it to your list. Easily top 5 restaurants in all of Reno!

Parking is fairly easy, with plenty of street spaces nearby, and an easy walk if you're already hanging around the neighborhood. The service was friendly and fairly prompt, and even for a weekday night the place was bustling, leading to a bit of a backup. Cool vibes all around, and it's neat to sit at the bar and watch the chefs do their thing. Though it does mean this is a little bit on the noisy side. Look at the menu, and there are tons of tempting options. As the name suggests, their specialty here is small plate off the grill or out fo the fryer. But they do serve really good-looking ramen, too, which I will make not to try next time I swing by. I at first went with a quick bite of grilled chicken thighs, which were just amazing! They were juicy, eprfectly seared, with some grilled green onions and an amazing sweet soy sauce. I also went with the yakionigiri, which are balls of rice that are grilled, brushed with sauce, and topped with a sort of mango slaw. A bit uncommon, but wow, these were also just so delicious! Also had a glass of sake, though they have a full bar should you want some other sort of beverage. Prices here are, I feel, a little on the higher end for small plates. However, I think it is definitely worth coming and trying this place out at least once or twice, just to expereince some of the good food. I'm sorry it took me so long to finally step through the doors, but I am certain I will be back again to try more of what's on the menu.

The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. In case you're not aware, though the name of this restaurant references a specific city in northern China and the menu has dishes from across the country, their specialty is the spicy and numbing cuisine of the Sichuan region. If you've never had this before, when you see dishes listed as spicy, they may be very different from what you're thinking. It's certainly can be a polarizing experience, with many loving this flavor and many not into it at all, but the broad menu makes this a great call for everyone. Now I love dining with others who are familiar because it lets you explore the menu through their eyes and enjoy selections made by others with taste diverse from yours. My friend picked several dishes I would've never noticed or ordered blindly this time, and I'm so happy about that. We enjoyed the cold Woodear or black fungus in chili oil, classic snow pea tips with garlic, as well as the quintessential Sichuan cumin lamb, but the other three dishes we had were 100% new to me. Those included Sichuan snails (unshelled in an oily spicy stir fry), scallops with garlic and vermicelli, and crispy spicy intestines. The snails were a win. These are small and somewhat chewy morsels that get wok fried with fried chili, chili oil, peppers and onions. The texture is similar to sautéed calamari, but a bit firmer, and the sauce coats everything with that signature numbing heat. The scallops were the big miss. This dish typically comes in the half shell with fresh scallops, but here they're using a lower quality scallop (likely frozen) and a lot of pre-minced garlic (like you'd find in a jar). It looks impressive but the scallops had absolutely not flavor and the texture was rubbery too. Skip this one for sure. The intestines were the surprise. I've had fried intestines and they crunch like a chip and have no distinct flavor that lets you know what you're eating. These were sliced on the bias and wok tossed until super crispy on the outside with a delicately chewy interior. The sauce really amplified the flavor and this all made for a great bite within the whole meal. All in all, this is a home run. If you haven't been, I urge you to check it out, as it's one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around.

Thanks to Kenji's the reception was very good given the circumstances, it definitely turned out better than the port of subs we had discussed prior to talking to Joe.

Decided to take a longer lunch break and drive to this restaurant. I was a little nervous coming in…read moreas I thought it appeared very busy and had previously read it can be busy during a lunch rush. Thankfully to my surprise, it was the reflection of the barbershop next door and the restaurant had patrons but not swamped! I ordered two pork tacos, with a side of mac salad and a diet coke, which came out $11 after tip and tax. What a steal! The pork was tender and the size of the mac salad was generous. They include sesame seeds and julienne carrots to their mac salad, which I liked, but others may not. Several more people came in and ordered after me, so for a Thursday afternoon is was steady. I will definitely be back to try out more menu items.
