It was time to update my review again, since the previous owner sold this place a few years ago to start to raise his family. I'm not going to make this long winded, since my assessment is fairly simple... This is in regard to their Pho ONLY! The new owners changed the broth recipe...and it's not to my liking. It's nowhere close to being as good as to what the previous owner offered. With that being said, it's still pretty good. I'd go if I was in that area, but I won't be going out of my way to seek them out. I have no idea as to the taste/quality of any of their other food, as I haven't tried any of it. The atmosphere is still the same...no changes to that aspect. I suggest that you check it out for yourself to see what YOU think, as everyone has different likes/dislikes for their Pho. I popped in to get some soup for dinner. I can always eat wontons or pho! When I'm in South Reno, I usually stop a few doors down to Tea leaf. It has been sometime since I had been here, so I came here instead. The good: 1.) The broth was flavorful. Everyone that loves a good soup knows that's the heart of it. 2.) The male cashier who took my order. A younger Asian guy was friendly and helpful. The not so good: 1.) The not so friendly hispanic girl that was working the podium. I could have done without her attitude and bad looks. 2.) Value. Their prices are higher for a large, but there is no difference physical difference in the quantity of the soup IE wontons or noodles. 3.) The wait. I was there for almost an hour waiting. They didn't have any tables. They need to work on their kitchen's time management. Anywhere else in town, I would have to wait no more than 20 minutes whether I called ahead or just showed up. 4.) Taro milk tea boba is a no. I wouldn't order this again. It was bland in flavor and their boba pearls weren't soft or chewy. Next time I'm in South Reno, I'll go a few doors down. read more

I like this small charming shop. It has that family run feel to it, and the attention to detail in the food shows how they care. I was in the mood for pho on a rainy Sunday. I ordered Pho Gau and a Thai tea. The pho broth was savory and soothing on a cold day. Packed with rice noodles, brisket slices, scallions and red onion, it was a perfect meal. I've eaten here over the past several years so I know what to expect. I mostly get the #24- Grilled Pork Vermicelli w/ . I just like how they cook their pork and shrimp. I had to get peanuts on the side since some family members are allergic. The staff was friendly when I went to pick-up my order. I get home right after and prepared to eat my late lunch, what initially seemed like a tiny piece of burned/charred meat started moving and then I saw the 2 antennae on it and guessed cockroach. First of this restaurant is under new management. So the foods are now prepared differently. I have been to this restaurant on and off and I can say the food is definitely different- more delicious. I particularly like the fried egg rolls with shrimp. Ah yes the 'shaking beef' is made using a sweet ( not sugar sweet) sauce. I've been eating here for a couple of years. The owner, Lot is one of the nicest restaurant owners I've ever met. It is with profound sadness that I will not be returning. Here is their latest Health Department report. Pho 6775 Sierra Center Pkwy failed its late-January 2026 health inspection due to critical violations, including moldy noodles and an employee working while sick. The inspection, documented in the Washoe Eats app, also noted blocked handwashing sinks. The owner reportedly became agitated during the inspection, claiming the employee was hungover, not sick, and that the health department could not send their employees home. Key details from the inspection report: Moldy Food: Visible mold was found on noodles in the walk-in refrigerator. Ill Employee: A food-handling employee confirmed through a translation app that they had a fever and sore throat. Safety Violations: Both handwashing sinks were blocked, one with a cleaning bucket and the other with pots and pans. Other Issues: Improper date markings on pork belly and a vermicelli noodle container stored in a turned-off rice cooker were noted. The previous owners took pride in their food and service. For the first time, we tried this restaurant for lunch today. Boy, were we shocked that the food was so good! There are plenty of Vietnamese Pho restaurants in the greater Reno area, but this place stands out in the food quality. The meat was quite tasty and appears to be of high grade. Met the owner's son, Samuel, who was very engaging and added to a wonderful meal during the noon hour. The ambiance was fair, but the food/service was in the outstanding range. My husband and I wandered in this modest little shop absolutely starving to death one Saturday morning, this was just what we needed! We were welcomed by the friendly employees and our food started flying out of the pass! We started with an order of the cheesiest crab Rangoon I have ever seen. They were piping hot and the perfect way to start our meal. We also enjoyed an order of their chicken wings, which were crispy and went so perfectly with the dipping sauce. My husband had a vermicelli bowl with beef and golden rolls, he absolutely loved it and I can confirm that it was wonderful. Came here to finally check out this place with my son and husband. We first ordered spring rolls and egg rolls as appetizers. This is the only place I know that includes BBQ pork instead of grilled pork in their spring rolls. I was a little bit disappointed that 1 order of egg rolls only comes with 3. Wish it came with more because my family loves egg rolls. Anyways, I ordered the combination pho. The broth was good. The pieces of meat were a lot thicker than I'm used too which is good. She was to busy doing her sidework with no gloves on getting ready to eat food ready after I watched her wipe her nose with her shirt to carry on watching her phone and packing your food. The bathroom soap is not reading antibacterial, and when you walk through the restaurant you can see things haven't been used or touched because of heavy spiderwebs around the togo items. Recently, I got rare steak pho and spicy chicken noodles with lemongrass broth. The pho broth was no longer thin, but very dark and salty. If there were the traditional pho spices like star anise, fennel, coriander, etc, they were heavily muted by the overwhelmingly salty beef flavor. There were hardly any garnishes (onion, cilantro, basil), so it felt just like a beef soup with noodles. The spicy chicken was spicy for sure, but the lemongrass flavor was nice and prominent. I'll try the regular chicken broth next time instead of the pho here and their fried rice (they used to have the fusion restaurant where the Brazilian steakhouse is on Virginia Street years ago, that had theee best fried rice ever with Chinese sausage). The spicy broth was too much for me (duh, the picture didn't look too spicy, but I'm a wimp) in the end, but I love fragrant Asian broths. For me, ironically, their Pho isn't their strong point, but I liked a lot of their other dishes at least in the past, so that's what I'll stick with in the future. read more

One of my favorite spots for a quick lunch during the work week! The bahn mi is served on a crispy roll, flavorful meat, pickled onion and carrot, and fresh cilantro. For just over $5 it is a perfect amount of food for lunch and so flavorful! The fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce are always a favorite dish at any Thai/pho restaurant and the ones served here and delicious. Would not be surprised if they just threw raw noodles into the bowl and cooked it like cup-of-noodles style. The starchy taste made me sick. The soup was bland. We were out running a series of errands around town, and it was lunchtime. We wanted a takeout banh mi, so looked up on Yelp. This place was about 4 minutes drive from where we were, so we drove over. In honesty, we actually thought we were walking into "Tealeaf Cafe" but it turned out that it's a different restaurant just in the same mall. Funny. We walked in, placed an order of three banh mi-s, and were told it'd be about 20 minutes. So we walked over to the huge furniture store, looked around, then came back. Had to wait another 15 minutes. Interestingly, the young male server was very nice, pleasant, and efficient. We've been hit by very terse services at Vietnamese restaurants in the past, so it was a nice surprise. But the service is slow; the same guys who were already seated at a table when we initially walked in were served with their phos after 30 minutes. There seems to be an efficiency issue there in the kitchen. However, the phos and fresh spring rolls looked really good. We have to come back for the pho. Banh mi was good; nothing spectacular, but pretty solid. read more

Went last night and had the most fantastic garlic shrimp noodles! They have a lot of items on the menu so if you don't know what you want, it can be difficult to choose or you fall back on your usual (mine is usually Pad Thai which is very good here too); however, they now use their big screen TV to highlight many of their dishes and I immediately saw two dishes I wanted to try, the garlic shrimp noodles and the lucky ramen (next time!).
