This restaurant has recently become a place to visit for us. They don't have a huge menu and I feel like that has given them time to really do their options well. So, check out the menu before a visit to make sure they have what you are looking for. Pros: Yummy appetizers, spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, pho (beef was especially good), and speciality drinks. Other items too I am sure but this is what I have sampled so fat. Con: They really toasted the bread on the Bahn mi, on all times someone at our table has ordered it, it is a struggle to eat, especially for smaller mouths/ those in braces. I got the matcha with ube cold foam, and the cold foam was delicious! However, I wish it had a little more flavor. Adding more ube would make it even better! As for the matcha, I couldn't really taste the matcha flavor. It would be nice if they used a higher quality matcha brand to give it a richer, more noticeable taste. I've been trying to fill that Vietnam food itch since coming back from Vietnam and Sip of Saigon hits the spot (coffee wise) for me. I love their iced classic drip coffee with condensed milk (cà phê sữa đá) and the iced pandan coconut iced coffee. So far I've tried the Saigon banh mi with the classic combination hams, the baguette was crunchy and fluffy and the hams were thinly sliced paired with the classic pickled daikon and carrots, a lot of parsley and jalapenos but it wasn't the best banh mi I've ever had. I've also tried the pistachio ricotta cake which was not overly sweet. I've always loved the service here with the clean tables and cute aesthetics and friendly staff. I've been coming here for about two years now. For a little bit of a background, I've never liked spring rolls and definitely not the peanut sauce. Until I came here. They have probably some of the best spring rolls and the best peanut sauce I've ever had. The best one is the special bbq pork with that crunch inside, so good. First time here...Cool place, but the owner may to come do a quality check on the food, because I highly doubt he is okay with how the food was served...had the Bahn mi, way to much bread, slight crunch on the outside, the a obviously old piece of bread. Pork belly was sliced so thin, seemed like it was reheated in a pan that was way too hot, and the salt level was insane. There was a sauce inside of the Bahn mi, had that been distributed evenly, I may not have minded the extreme saltiness. Updated! When my Vietnamese friend mentioned going to a different place for pho, I quickly reminded her that we had found a better place, when your 85, your memory does slip at times. Once we got into the area and she saw the outside of Sip of Saigon, she remembered that she had been there and loved it! When we walked into Sip of Saigon this time, most of the seating was already taken which makes me very happy to see! We both ordered the combination pho and found a table. Our pho was delivered quickly and piping hot! As soon as I had a spoonful of broth in my mouth, I was in heaven. Still the best pho I have found in the greater Reno/Sparks area. A couple of years ago we had a Yelp event here. It was fantastic and I try to get back when I can, it's a bit out of my usual area. But the hospitality and food are amazing. I was meeting some friends from the area at 10 am so I picked Sip. I got the delicious Ube drip latte hot, it was a bit chilly today, usually I prefer the iced. And I was really looking forward to the flaky fresh croissant with delicate ham and savory Gruyère cheese. Mmmmm. We took a table in the corner and enjoyed the late breakfast and weren't rushed as we sat and caught up for a couple of hours. Even as others came and went, it was still a nice quiet place to talk. It's located in a strip mall. So shared parking lot, but I had no problems getting a spot right out front. I can't wait for warmer weather to enjoy their patio area out front.
