I've been to SK at least 6 times since moving to Sparks. It was one of the first asian restaurants I tried. Traditional Vietnamese or Chinese cuisine IMO, is difficult to find here compared to the Bay Area. But that's not the fault of Reno, it's just the number of asian restaurants are so much fewer here and all the produce is literally imported. My goto when checking out a chinese restaurant is their chow fun noodles. Why? The noodles are perishable and if frozen the texture becomes a bit mushy, not firm. Was the noodle fresh, yes but with the cavet that it was probably imported day or two earlier. There are no local noodle makers in Reno. The dish was prepared in traditionally with a slight twist. Garlic, lots of minced garlic. Not complaining, as this is unusual for chow fun noodles to get amost a fourth of a garlic bulb worth. I ordered the mixed protein version with chicken, pork, and beef. There was a slight sweetness to the dish, which I am atributing it to sugar. Which again is unusual but a welcome addition like the garlic. My last visit was when some relatives visted from the Bay Area and we had lunch. I didn't want to take a chance on the food that they may not be used to, so we choose SK Noodle. Eveyone had their vietnamese Pho and grilled dishes and so far SK did dissapoint any of the Northern CA food snobs! I will be back. read more

Decided to stop in for a later dinner after our kiddos swim lesson in Sparks as most of the other local restaurants were close to closing time (it was 7:15ish). My husband works in Sparks so he stops by for lunch frequently but this was my first time in quite some time and I forgot how dang good it is! The Singapore noodles are amazing, it's one of my favorite dishes and can be hard to find and the ones here are definitely the best that I've tried. Service was great too, it was pretty busy and I only saw 2 servers but they were holding it down and we didn't wait long for anything. Will have to add SK noodle back to our dinner restaurant rotation for sure! read more

I enjoy the food here. Nice location and plenty of parking available. I have reviewed before but on my last visit I had one concern, not sure why it is important to me but it is. The food, the service, prices and ambiance I have no issue with, what does upset me each visit is the cutlery. Yes, the cutlery. It feels like the thinnest and cheapest money can buy. I have never ever thought about the cutlery at any other place but here it really bothers me. It detracts from the overall experience for me. read more

Sk noodles is located right next to raley's right off. McCarran just happened to buy. We stopped in after church and ordered a noodle bowl. It was amazing. I will be back for another one. It was lettuce on the bottom noodles and loaded with all kinds of goodies. They had a sauce you pour over it and it was just amazing. I loved it! I love this place. Come and try them. Based solely on today's order of flame broiled, bone in pork and crispy sesame tofu with fried rice lunch special. It was a bit busy for lunch time but got seated right away. Our server was by herself but she did great. Very nice and attentive lady. Food was actually decent! We had came a few months ago and I wasn't happy but today was a different story. The tofu had a nice crisp and bite to it and the pork was VERY flavorful. I'd suggest trying the flame broiled pork with the bone in! It was a rainy day and I've been craving pho so I wanted to go somewhere close. We ordered from SK Noodle on Grubhub and the pho was good so we wanted to try it in person. When we entered, they were not very busy and said we could sit anywhere. We ordered the combination pho. All the meat was good. The broth was good, but it is missing something to make it more flavorful. Still one of the better pho broths in town. You can add extra noodle for $2 and they give you a lot of extra noodle for $2. Service was very quick. It was a good music selection and a lot bigger inside than I expected. Definitely will come back to try more food on the menu. read more

This is a difficult place to rate. I ordered online but was already real close so showed up 15 minutes before the order was supposed to be ready (5 minutes after the order was placed) and the food was ready. It was just spring rolls (which I know are already made and that is fine) and a sandwich. The sandwich was already soggy, the bread is not a French roll as advertised. What saves this place is the price. $8.50 for spring rolls is cheap and definitely makes up for the fact the shrimp is all piled on each other so you get all 2 pieces in one bite. $9 for a sandwich is pretty good too. If the place was expensive, I would be more upset but I got what I paid for and would do it again. read more

I think today I ordered and ate at SK for the last time. In 2021, the cost for grilled over vermicelli noodle was $13, add egg rolls and add another $2. Today the cost is $18.60 for the same exact dish, and $2.75 to add eggrolls. There is no improvement on quality or ingredients, it's actually worse. The lettuce is brown and pink and there is more noodle than meat. I understand prices are going up for everything but paying $22 for an almost all noodle and almost turned lettuce dish does not seem right. read more

I love vietnamese food and this is the one place that my entire family loves!! I usually get the rare steak pho or the flame grilled pork Vermicelli bowl. Both check all the boxes! The spring rolls are good, the hot and sour soup is fantastic, the wonton soup made my husband a liver of vietnamese food. Even their more chinesw style dishes are good. Plus the service is great! This is one of my GO TO Vietnamese restaurants in Reno/Sparks. SK Noodle is very clean inside and fast service. Portions are large and flavorful. I love their grilled Pork over vermicelli noodles. It was clean, it looked organized and it was a great take out experience! Service was OP and I can't complain about the facility to order and take my food. -Combination beef pho: 3.5/5 I love me some good pho! If you like a saltier broth, then this is the spot for you! Ingredients tasted fresh, and some helped bring down that saltiness flavor that you get from the broth. The meatball was salty through the whole experience. I didn't get much of that extra flavor experience that I like with my broth. It was missing that depth you look for in pho. 1 point from the salt levels being a little higher than I wouldn't liked, and .5 from the depth of the broth not being there. I would have loved to give this review a 4, but there was a lot of salt in this batch of pho broth that made it hard for me to justify the flavor as it over took the depth you look for in a rich broth. read more

sooo yummy. Hubby gets the #4 extra meat, beef brisket and meatballs. I usually get whatever pho has the beef brisket, and order without noodles. Their chicken salad is the BEST. They stopped warning me that it's not a typical "american" chicken salad because now they know me haha. It sits on raw cabbage and the dressing is light and does come with crushed peanuts so be aware if you have that allergy. I can eat that danged salad every day. The portion size very small, noodles didn't taste fresh and there was a tangy taste to it almost like it was old. Other places I've been too are much better but this place is close to me. First time trying out this place. My friend and I decided to try out this place for pho (because nothing beats a nice hot bowl of pho on cold winter days) out of convenience. It was closest to where we were so we said why not. It was a cute and cozy little place and l loved the environment. But unfortunately, that's about the only thing we liked. It was cold out, so we were REALLY looking forward to hot bowl of soup, but instead, we got very lukewarm broth. Flavor was okay, but the noodles were undercooked. We also ordered egg rolls, but that too, was disappointing. It wasn't very flavorful, it was also lukewarm, and it didn't have the crisp I love. Prices seems to be higher than the average, but the foods we got wasn't worth the price. Stopped by for my favorites: tendon and tripe pho and general's chicken. My kids always eat pho ga. If you follow my reviews, I check in here quite frequently whether I'm picking up takeout for dinner or dining in for lunch. Service hasn't been an issue ever, but their food is consistently good. I love the bigger tables and having extra space in their dining room. It's a pet peeve of my mine to feel like I'm sitting on top of the table next to me. Luckily it was a quiet afternoon. Was looking for a quick bite before heading home. Stumbled here after shopping at Raley's. My husband's beef chow fun came out way earlier than my pork over rice dish. I don't like it when our dishes come out at different times. While I was waiting for my dish to come out I was able to try my husband's beef chow fun. It's a little more on the sweeter side but I think it's pretty good. Finally when my dish came out I was shocked about the meat portion. It was a pretty generous amount. The rice was a bit hard. Let's start with the good-- our waitress was so nice, very friendly and funny. And it's the first time we've seen a kids' menu at a pho place! My daughter ordered a kids' rare beef pho and it was a great size for her! The Generals Chicken had good flavor but only came with 3 pieces of cold broccoli on the side. My pork and shrimp salad was good (healthy, just what I was in the mood for-- heavy on the sauce but good flavor overall). The kids' pho, while a great size, was very lacking in flavor and the noodles were a bit overcooked. Grabbed some noodles today for a quick work lunch. I got the vermicelli with pork and egg roll. The egg roll was very good. I enjoyed the filling and it was crispy. The vermicelli was cooked well. I enjoyed the sauce to put over the top. The carrots were too vinegary and the pork was very fatty. I kept spitting out pieces - but the flavor was very good. Perfect amount of salt. It looked like a regular restaurant inside. The person who took my order was kind and the food came out exactly how we asked - which is great for a large group. They gave me so much lettuce and the saddest portion of carrots to go with it. Like where's the rest of the vegetables? The vermicelli was only a handful. Soft and soggy. Egg rolls were soft and soggy no crunch or crisp. For the price I was paying it was not worth it and the flavor was very underwhelming! Also got the wonton soup. Or should I say lettuce soup. Wouldn't eat there again.. broth for soup had a horrible smell and taste I tried to eat half the noodles but couldn't get through it. To be fair the noodles smelled weird too so unsure which is the culprit but nonetheless will not go back. I paid $25 for inedible food. Had to throw it all away. ...and yet another stop in my continuing hunt for my new favorite Pho joint in the area! This review is for their Pho ONLY! In case this is the first review of mine that you've read or if you haven't read my latest Pho reviews, let me explain. A few years back, I visited EVERY Pho joint in the area looking to find my favorite and what lived up to my expectations, as well as satisfying my taste profile, having eaten this food all across North America. It's one of my favorite foods... I finally found my favorite back then, but the owner sold it last year and the new owners have changed the recipe...I don't like it as much, so the hunt resumes. Located in a strip mall in Sparks, this place is bigger than it looks on the outside. Lots of tables with both bench and chair seating. The 2 times I've sat down to eat there recently, I saw a LOT of people coming in to pick up take out orders...looks like they do brisk business in that department. BUT...before I tell you about the food, I have to get one thing off my chest about the ambience...because there is no ambience. That's why they get only 3 stars. I've said it before in other reviews...every restaurant needs a "musical identity"...i.e. background music. It can be ANYTHING, as long as there's something playing in the background at a reasonable volume...not too loud, not too soft. Let me elaborate...I'm a professional musician and radio guy...my life revolves around music...but, even for people that aren't like me, music in a restaurant sets a mood and fills a room with warmth. They have small speakers up on the walls with nothing audible coming out of them. The place is devoid of ANY warmth at all. A little bit of low volume music would give this place some charm. It just feels uncomfortable...people don't even want to talk because the room is SO quiet. All you hear is clatter coming from the kitchen. OK...enough about that...let's get to the food. My "go-to" is Combination Pho. I love the melding of all the textures and flavors of the different proteins. Both times I visited, I ordered the #1 Dac Biet ($14.50) [Combination (rare steak, flank, tripe, tendon, beef ball) rice noodle soup] They give you options to upsize it: (Extra Noodle+$2, Extra Meat+$3, XL+$4) I ordered the standard size. Nice sized bowl of tasty broth (on the lighter side), nice amount of correctly cooked noodles and veggies, reasonable amount of the standard meats...but they suffer from the same problem that almost every other place I've been to around here usually does...not enough meatballs, tripe or tendon. Proportions are out of balance with the other meats, noodles and broth. 2 pieces of meatball...about the equivalent of just over a half a meatball...seasoned well with good flavor. Basic amount of tripe and tendon...cooked well with nice textures...enough so you can say that it's in there, but not up to the standards of the many places I've eaten at over the years...again, the proportions are out of balance. I'm going to upsize with the extra meat option next time to see if those minimal amounts become reasonable in the larger portion (yes, I will go back, especially since it's not far from where I live). Decent amount of the standard accoutrements that usually come with Pho (basil, bean sprouts, lime wedge, jalapenos). Usually you get fresh cilantro with the other accoutrements, but not here. There's a small amount just barely visible added to the bowl. I'll also ask for more cilantro and jalapenos on my next visit. I always add Hoisin, Chile Sauce, Sri Racha and Chile Oil...AFTER I taste the broth as they serve it. Their Chile Oil is mostly just oil, with hardly any marinated Chile flake in it. The ladies that serve the food and run the counter are nice enough, but once the food hits the table, they're nowhere to be found and you get no more attention. Another minor point...the 2nd time I went in, they rang my card up for someone else's order when I went to the counter to cash out! Almost $60...when I had obviously been there eating for a while and only ordered the Pho. A little more attention to detail and being more observant, as well as aware of their customers would help. Like I said, I'll go back in...let's see how they do in subsequent visits...it might affect their rating...in either direction! read more

Ordered Uber eats delivery for Friday night Chinese takeout; Chow Fun beef noodles crispy and a fried wonton appetizer. The delivery was fine but when I opened my containers I was a little confused so I added both the crispy noodles and the beef-noodle sauce. The sauce came hot but not the rest of the order although when you order from food delivery apps you won't always get the most fresh foods. The fried wontons were a huge disappointment for me as they were overcooked, hard and dry to eat. I couldn't take more than a few bites of the order of 6. The seasoning on the chow fun was bland like it needed some spice or pepper. I instantly reported my distaste on Uber for the quality of the flavor and presentation. 2 stars for the Uber eats driver for finding my location downtown. read more
