When visiting Reno, I highly encourage anyone that is looking for a delightful and relaxing lunch spot to definitely check out "Süp". Located directly on S. Virginia St and adjacent to St. Lawrence Ave in the heart of the Midtown neighborhood of Reno, Süp has served up delicious and healthy sandwiches, salads, and soups dating back to 2007. This place has been on my radar for quite some time and I finally got to experience what it was all about. Since this is in a fairly busy commercial part of town, it can be a bit tricky to find parking. However, we were able to park only a block away and this was during the afternoon on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 12:15pm. After making the short way to the business, I absolutely loved the exterior aesthetics and layout were represented. The business itself mimics a house complete with a large front patio area that actually snakes around to the side of the house for the more comfortable Reno days. The wooden tables with plastic chairs and covered tents to shield off the sun were a very nice touch. The inside also offers very generous indoor seating complete with ample space for a single person, a couple, or a family. Their menu are digitally presented on LED TVs complete with some of their specials that are handwritten on a chalkboard. My lady and I both decided to order sandwiches to get our fuel and energy for the day. I went with their "Char-Grilled Steak Baguette"; this came complete with their bistro steak drizzled with chimichurri sauce and topped with caramelized onions, New York white cheddar & sharp cheddar cheese and served on a cheddar poppy seed baguette. My lady went with their "Reno Deli"; this offered salami, pepperoncini & pesto layered with spinach, tomatoes, provolone cheese, and aioli on toasted sourdough bread. Both of our sandwiches came with a side house salad. Once given our number (we got Tahoe St), we decided to sit outside and take full advantage of the weather (as it was a perfect 78°F). What I particularly like is that the ambiance is the perfect vibe for daydreaming, people watching, and enjoying the simplicity that a city like Reno offers. Both our sandwiches arrived in roughly 10 minutes and were presented on white porcelain plates. My sandwich was made to perfection as the cheddar baguette securely held the fillings quite nicely. There was a lot of seasoned steak as the other sauces were not too overpowering. And considering the size of this, it got me quite full as I wasn't hungry until much later in the day. I will say that if you're looking for a reputable small business that offers healthy fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, amazing ambiance in a very desirable area of Reno, I highly recommend giving "Süp" a try. Their selection of salads, sandwiches, bowls, and soups are all wonderful choices as they focus on farm-fresh ingredients. And if time allows, I highly encourage everyone to eat here as I felt right at home during my 45-minute stay. Keep in mind that they are closed on Sunday but are open Monday through Saturday from 11am-9pm. With that said and done, I am giving Süp a perfect five-star review. read more

It had been WAY too long since I'd been to Sup when a friend and I stopped in for a bite the other night. Holy WOW, it was so nice to be reminded what good, clean, locally produced food really tastes like. With all our chains becoming "Syscoized" and all tasting the same now, local flavor is so critical. Owners Casey & Christian have NEVER abandoned their mission, vision, values, or promise to this community and I, for one, appreciate it now more than ever. Went to Sup for the first time, it was a little difficult to find parking but that's to be expected in midtown. Ordered at the counter then got the food delivered to a table. I got the combo #2 with the chicken club and a cup of mushroom tom yum soup. Wow the soup blew me away! Really wonderful flavor. The chicken on the sandwich was pretty dry but besides that it was still pretty tasty. My partner got the grilled cheese and that was spectacular. The tomato bisque was just fine in my opinion, but my partner liked it a lot. A bit expensive but you can tell they use quality ingredients. Would come back to try more things! read more

I've given Sup multiple reviews because I can't get enough of them! One of my absolute favorite restaurants in town. Friendly staff. Consistent delicious food. Vegan/vegetarian options. A little salad with soul and sandwich is perfection. Tried the miso soup and it was delicious. My 3 year old loved it also. Blown away by this place. I love healthy food that's also tasty, and when it's priced reasonably, that's the trifecta for me. I got the Thai chicken bowl (minus jalapeños). Everything tasted super fresh. The brown rice and cabbage blend was just the right degree of crunchy and chewy; the carrots, red bell peppers, and edamame were crisp; the chicken was perfectly grilled (you could taste the char) and sesame seeded, and the peanut vinaigrette added a sumptuous touch of sweetness to everything. I also got a cup of scratch-made vegan split pea soup that was likewise very fresh and tasted just right. Doesn't exactly compare to a top-notch non-vegan version (no ham), but very good and satisfying. Staff was super friendly and helpful (and patient), both in explaining the ingredients of some of the soups and bringing our meal to the table. Bonus points for the great lowkey music. Minus points for the parking, though--we couldn't tell where to park other than in one of the three spots along the street (one of which was fortunately open). Every time when in Reno and I get a chance, I stop to eat here. It's located in the heart of Midtown. It looks like a little house. They have a nice outside patio that overseas people walking in Midtown. You order in the counter and you get your number and they bring the food to you. They serve sandwiches, soups, and salads. I love everything here ! I had multiple items here and they are all so delicious and fresh. All the employees are super friendly and attentive. Stopped by Süp today, a Friday around noon, and even though it was fairly busy, everything moved quickly and smoothly. We ordered right away, found a spot outside with heat lamps, and had our food in under 10 minutes, which was impressive. The food was delicious. Comforting, flavorful, and just plain yummy. One of those meals where you're happily quiet because you're too busy eating. Mmmm. I went with some family from out of town and they were impressed as well. My favorite is getting one of the combo specials. I particularly like the grilled cheese with the soup, little side salad, and a drink. And for $15.99 it's a pretty good deal. The soups rotate so you can try different things. The staff will also let you taste if you are unsure. The butternut squash soup today was excellent. There were some crotons on the top. The flavors of the grilled are mouthwatering and the bread crisped to perfection. I usually end up taking half the sandwich home. For nearly 2 decades, the daily rotation of soups paired with a fresh Cranberry Salad or comforting Grilled Cheese has been the fixture for every chapter of life. High school heartbreak, fuel with friends before our first tattoos or piercing down the road, first dates, sick days before, during, and after the pandemic, business lunches, as well as serious heart-to-hearts and carefree nights out with loved ones. Süp has been there for everything! When I think of Süp, I think of stability, consistency, warmth (pun intended), and comfort. The friendly faces have changed over the years, but every single person has made the little shop a welcoming spot for a meal of any kind. The menu has been tweaked ever so slightly over the years, but has remained constant enough that even if months pass I can count on my favorites. I will say I miss the mini oatmeal cookie that used to come with every order. But I also love the major improvements to the patio space that have come about in the past few years. The quirky art that rotates seasonally keeps the space up-to-date, and the local street names in lieu of table numbers maintains the nostalgia from decades ago. Süp is a Reno establishment that has lasted through some pretty wild changes. It is one of my personal go-to spots for soup, wholesome sandwiches, and fresh salads. It was a cold day and as I ate, I could see an old lady shivering on a nearby bench so bought her the same thing I was eating to warm her up and provide a brief reprieve. The inside had a warm ambiance with lots of lighter wood. You're given a number on a stick when you order and they bring your meal right out to you. When you walk in, Sup feels very homey, and it was no surprise to learn that the building had been a home at one point. Soup selection is excellent, as you'd hope, with options from standards like chicken noodle and broccoli cheddar to rotating varieties like Ajiaco (chicken, corn, potato) and African peanut (warming and nutty). They offer budget-friendly combos (soup with salad or sandwich + drink) for around $16, and it's a lot of food. I was pleasantly surprised by the cranberry salad, which can often go too sweet, but here is balanced by a good amount of gorgonzola, almonds and a well-crafted white balsamic (also not too sweet). Love to see options for vegan/veggie and meat both prepared well with equal attention to detail...also something that can feel unbalanced at places. Ingredients tasted fresh and unprocessed, and we went back twice in the same week for more. My only suggestion would be for them to think about crafting some equally fresh drink options, which would pair better than fountain drinks with the quality of the food. To top off the great food is the warm and thoughtful service. Each time I've gone, questions have been answered knowledgably, with care for the food and what seems like a genuine desire to match you with the right options. It took me a couple of tries to "warm up" to Sup. Unless I have a really bad experience, I always try to go a few times before I write a review. Each time I went, I seem to like it more and more and identify more and more favorites. It's such a great go to place for soups and salads. I always get the largest size but the intention to bring it home and then end up usually eating it there. The African peanut stew and the chili are my two favorites but everything is good even the fairly straightforward chicken noodle. The cashiers always have a smile, i've never had to wait more than a few minutes to order and since most is prepared in advance, it's quick . The cranberry salad is also a winner. There were so many onions (huge chunks) i had to remove nearly half of them--and I really enjoy onion on my sandwich--see pix. The bread was disgustingly dry and chewy. Wife--toasted veggie. First off, good luck parking here, as with most places in Midtown this can be quite difficult during busy times. They do have a couple spots in the back that are worth a try checking. But don't give up it's worth it! After about 15 minutes of circling we were finally able to come to warm our tummies on this chilly day. First thing I noticed was the bread is phenomenal, that paired with the generous amount of steak has me wanting to come back for more! So first off, the local beer selection is actually pretty awesome, they had me sold immediately at 8% craft cider!! The wife and I ordered 2 different cups of soup and split the steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was not at all what I would have expected, only a few everything slices of I guess deli style charred meat, BUT everything was pretty dang good and this is a really cool location. The sauce on the steak sandwich was pretty bomb and the bread was to die for, I'm a bit of a bread snob. Very chewy and crisp. I'm just not too sure I would be coming here during any of the warm times of the year. We happened to just have enough time to squeeze in a lunch on a rainy day so this really did hit the spot. People working were friendly and the food came out pretty quick, so service gets good marks for sure. This place is deceptively small on the outside, but has plenty of seating both inside and out. I have ALWAYS loved Sup since being here in Northern NV. It's been quite a while since I have been at Sup , but after my most recent visit, I am reminded why I like this place so much. I came in on a cold snowy/rainy day, so it was the perfect day to have soup. Honestly because it has been such a long time since I've been here, I didn't remember them having the combo options before and I didn't really take the time to see if they have made changes to their menu, but I ordered what I always remembered being so good: The Broccoli Cheddar, The Turkey Pesto, and their salad. This is the #1 combo on their menu. I didn't have a chance to see if maybe getting the cookie they used to serve with their plates was separate, but I do remember the reason I used to also love going to Sup was for that cookie they had, so I was a little sad that it was not on my plate when I got my food, but everything else was still so good. It was a pretty quiet day and was not as busy since I came in when it just opened so I was able to sit by the window watching the snow while I ate. I still recommend Sup to this day for those that are stopping by Reno especially if wanting soup on a cold day. It is and always will be a favorite Reno eats for me. read more

We just happened to pass by and boy oh boy, their soup was so good. My favorite is carrot ginger, my niece ordered tomato bisque and my sister was tortilla chicken. Tried out Süp for lunch today. It was a perfect rainy day for soup and a sandwich. My husband had the Mushroom Farro soup and a half Pesto Turkey. I had the Tomato Bisque and a half Club. Loved this spot. Only negative I have is parking is a problem but otherwise worth a try. I'd go back. The steak sandwich was delish, salad that came with it was also delish. I tried the broccoli cheddar soup- wasn't my fave BUT it seemed to be homemade- didn't have a processed food taste at all so I really appreciate that even if the taste wasn't my fave. When we entered inside their was a nasty stench that flooded the building so we sat outside so we didn't have to smell it and only 1 of their outdoor heaters worked. So we ate in the cold because that heater was serving another guest and we weren't in proximity of it to feel much. The other 2/3 of them didn't work. Also the tables outside we wiped down ourselves since it was dirty and no one out there cleaning them. The place has hope and could be a better experience for you .
