    Get to the Chopper Salad
    Amanda W.

MF International lives up to its name - the flavors are truly inspired from around the world and so unique. I love all the options they have and that you can get your food as burrito, bowl, or salad. We had a Get to the Chopper salad (10/10 recommend, packed with lots of deliciousness and those pickles were so good), a burrito that was Spanish inspired for the World Cup (also wonderful and reminded us of paella that we've had in Spain), and our kiddo had a quesadilla from the kid's menu. All the food that we tried was fantastic and the flavor marched the theme of each place it was representing. Inside there's plenty of seating and the decor is so cute and welcoming (they have flags from around the world). The staff is also very friendly. I absolutely love this place and can't wait to come back and try other burritos. Reno needed a place like this that embraced flavors from around the world and MF international is doing a phenomenal job with it!

I hidden gem in Sparks! MF international is perfect for the group or family that has varying taste buds. Each menu item is inspired by a different country around the world and can be served as a bowl, salad, or burrito. This is such a cool idea and they execute it very well! And not to mention, the genuine and attentive service! We came in on a slower day and got the opportunity to learn about this new-ish location from the manager. He took the time to tell us about his favorite dishes and how he aspires to bring cuisine from around the world to Reno! Our dine in experience was great! I've also ordered through their website for pick up. It was simple, easy, and just as delicious as in person. I'll definitely be coming back here so I can taste flavors from different countries!

    We tried the Patty Pig

My yelp elite goal this year was to try new spots so today we decided to try out MF and I got to meet Eddie the Manager and Jason one of the owners and cook. We had the special the Patty pig burrito since St Patrick's Day is around the corner which had very unique flavors. I look forward to going back and trying a signature burrito. No beer on tap, but they have unique can beers to choose from. The beer of champions was my favorite. I'm looking forward to the Triple D episode airing on March 27. It's so cool Guy Fieri came to Reno and filmed our hometown restaurants. If you're in the area drop in and try a Salad, Wrap (burrito) or bowl!

This is an interesting concept. They have a handful or so of different dishes that can be ordered as a burrito, bowl or salad. You self order and they bring your food to you. The items all looked good. I ordered the Korean bowl and a lemonade. The prices are as expected but the portions seemed smaller than I was anticipating. The flavor was good but the rice was a weird texture, almost old rice heated up with water. The lemonade was pretty good. We may try it again and see if it's a similar experience. Lots of seating so don't have to worry about that. Also it's self bussing.

Finally came in to try this place and it's so cute inside. Location is central. They have a lot of variety and make burritos, bowls and salads for all items on the menu and have international inspired dishes. I tried the Akeem the dream as a burrito and it was really good!! It's a melt your face off kind of dish though so I wish it had a little more peanut taste and slightly less spicy heat. My husband tried the Havana as a bowl and that was also really good! It had barely any mofongo and a lot of beans so the portion was also a little off but great ingredients and idea. We also tried a Girl Scout cookie milkshake and it was soo good and a Thai basil turmeric lemonade and it was amazing. Can't wait to try more stuff on the menu. The service was very good too, people are very nice and helpful

What a unique and impressive restaurant concept. You are greeted upon entering and given instructions on different ways to order and that each meal comes either as a salad, burrito, or bowl. I got an Athena bowl which is kind of like a gyro, but with a variety of flavors and heat that I haven't tasted anywhere else. Service was fast and really pleasant. Will absolutely come back again even if I live on the other side of Reno.

wanted to try this place since they moved from their former downtown location at the old Mellow Fellow, which had a charm all its own so we finally had the chance to experience their new space. Stepping in on a Saturday afternoon, we found the atmosphere surprisingly serene; for a while, we essentially had the entire place to ourselves. The interior design is nice and welcoming, offering ample seating and a vibe that makes you want to linger. as you walk in the right side has a wall of their menu items, so we decided on a diverse spread to get a true feel for the menu: The Papa Yaya Wrap, The Chilango Bowl,The New York Bowl One minor hurdle we encountered was during the ordering process. We attempted to customize our meal by adding "grilled peppers" (an ingredient featured on a different menu item) to our order. However, the house policy is quite strict: no substitutions or additions are permitted. While this ensures consistency for the kitchen, it's worth noting for those like myself who prefer a more bespoke dining experience. The food itself is the concept of cool pairings from different countries gives the menu a refreshing diversity, and the flexibility to turn any signature item into either a bowl or a wrap is a fantastic touch. The Papa Yaya Wrap: The flavors here were genuinely impressive. However, the execution was a bit uneven--the chicken was concentrated on one side, leaving several bites that were more tortilla than filling. There was also a distinct "fish forward" note in the sauce that stood out. To kick things up, they provided a house spicy sauce that tasted like a clever twist on Cholula; it added a perfect, necessary heat. The Bowls: Both the Chilango and New York bowls were flavorful, though they suffered from a common ratio issue. The base of rice was quite heavy compared to the protein. While the taste was excellent, the portions felt a bit skewed for the price point. The staff member who assisted us was absolutely stellar--personable, professional, and attentive. Despite the rigid policy on modifications, the service remained a high point of the visit as he recommended the spicy sauce. The foundation here is strong: the flavors are bold and the concept is unique. If they can balance the protein-to-carb ratios or perhaps offer an option for "double meat," it would truly elevate the value to match the premium quality of the ingredients.

The burritos here slap! Tried the Chilango, the Marley, and Garros de Gallo burritos. They're all very unique and flavorful in their own right. Can't seem to go wrong with any of the burritos. Their tortillas are exceptional! I also tried the Yaya bowl. It looked beautiful upon arrival and I was excited to dig in. I did like the tangy papaya salad, it gives good flavor. But The downside for me was their rice to protein ratio was way off. I thought I saw lots of chicken but when I dug in I realized it was mostly peanuts... Don't be afraid of that protein fellas, if there were chunks of chicken on there it would have been a game changer!

    Sarah B.

I've been twice now and have really enjoyed the food! The quality of ingredients is what really shines and the abundance of flavor! I love that there is a constant special of the month that supports local non profits and some beers you can drink in house. The service is basically counter service and the temperatures of our bowls have been hit and miss but overall we have enjoyed and will keep coming back

Great place to get cool international dishes. The food was super good and the inside of the restaurant is really cool with a bunch of flags and interesting decor. The chef is really nice and went over the menu with us to help us decide. Highly recommend!

First, their GRAND OPENING is on Saturday 20 September and they told me it'll be buy one get one half off burritos! Tried the chilengo burrito, and was impressed! Big chunks of chicken (maybe too big, as they were a bit hard to bite through), and loaded with rice, lettuce, beans, cheese, and sauce. They offer burritos with international flair, bowls, salads, and more! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and their excitement and positivity about being newly open was infectious! The interior was comfortable and decorated in such a cool style!

    Daffy Bowl
    Mike S.

Stopped in here for dinner the other night. It is located where Black Rock Pizza used to be. This is like a fast casual gourmet fusion place serving burritos, bowls (burrito without the tortilla) and salads. Order at the counter, get drinks from the fountain and wait for your food. I ordered the Daffy Bowl and a duck noodle soup The soup came out first. The broth was flavorful. The noodles were a bit underdone. There was no duck meat in the soup. The Daffy Bowl was amazing and a perfect example of the fusion here. Making a burrito or a bowl and using duck instead of chicken, pork or beef isn't fusion. But using fried rice with duck skin cracklings, black beans, duck and basically the veggies from a Bahn Mi sandwich takes fusion to another level! All of their meals are like this. The Daffy was so good I'll probably order it a dozen more times before I try anything else! The staff was friendly and conscientious. I really hope they do well and prosper here. The only thing that could make this place perfect for me would be whiskey and/or Guinness on tap.

One thing we noticed right away was that the bonchon was already set on the tables before guests arrived. It wasn't a large spread--just a small tin of cheese corn and a divided tray with kimchi, bean sprouts, and fish cake--not sure how long they were left out and did look and taste dry. The servers seemed to work well together. Different team members checked on us, cleared dishes, served food, and helped other's tables. Once it got busier, they also used robot servers to help deliver food. We started with the salad with house dressing and the popcorn chicken. Both were good, and the chicken was nice and moist. For the BBQ, we ordered the Chardol, Ju Mul Luck, Hawaiian Steak, Tri-Tip Bulgogi, and Galbi (short ribs). Having eaten at quite a few Korean BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas, we noticed the portions here were a bit smaller. They also limit each round to three appetizers and four meat selections. Overall, the service was good, and we especially appreciated Eurie for being friendly and attentive. The only thing that concerned us was when another server changed our grill. Instead of lightly drizzling oil onto the grill, she forcefully squeezed the bottle, causing the oil to shoot out onto grill. It seemed like an unnecessary safety risk for both guests and employees. Our favorites were definitely the Tri-Tip Bulgogi and the Galbi. Both were flavorful and tender. The Chardol was good, but the slices were very thin and the portion felt a little small. The restaurant filled up quickly between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., so it's clearly a popular spot. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back for the Tri-Tip Bulgogi, Galbi, and the teamwork displayed by the staff.

As someone who occasionally likes to eat alone, I really appreciate that. I've visited several times over the years, including recently under the newer ownership. Unfortunately, some of my old favorites aren't quite the same. I used to love their deep-fried oysters, which are no longer on the menu and have been replaced with deep-fried mussels. The kimchi stew recipe also seems to have changed and wasn't as memorable as before. That said, they still serve my favorite gopchang (beef small intestine). When cooked properly, it gets wonderfully crispy and reminds me of Mexican tripas tacos--definitely worth ordering. I'd personally skip the bibimbap appetizer. The rice was hard, the ground beef was cold, and it felt like it relied too heavily on the gochujang sauce for flavor. Even with those changes, I'll continue supporting this business. Service was also attentive.

It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.

The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente.
