Came here with my dad, husband, and father in law after a long day of painting our new house. I was HUNGRY and we each got a burrito with all the fixings. These things are definitely two-meal burritos - which is the whole goal of ordering a massive burrito. The meat in all options was tender and flavorful. My dad is a huge mexican food fan and was asking about specific options. The owner came over and was speaking to him and offered us a free plate of tacos with his newest meat creation! How could we say no?! I really hope he adds this to the menu because it was the most tender, juicy, saucy, flavorful shredded beef I have ever had. 10/10 on the taco scale. My dad even said that it's the best he has ever had and he has travelled all over Mexico! My father in law is also vegan and they were careful to offer him options that matched his medical dietary restrictions. The place is cute with an adorable bar stacked with all the tequilas you could ask for and included an amazing mix of handcrafted cocktails. The habanero margarita is my favorite. My husband and I went here last Thursday (7/24) for dinner and it blew us away! The food was AMAZING. The flavors and portions were so good and they have a salsa bar! All of them were pretty good but the green and red salsa were our faves! We each got a meal as well as a Mexican Coke and it only came out to about $36! The service was great. We were treated when we walked in. The server answered our questions while we ordered. He presented the options for the entrees we were thinking of. The food came out in reasonably short time. The food... 1 breakfast burrito and 1 super nachos Pastor, no beans. Large portions for both. The presentation of the nachos was very appealing. They spread the chips out across the oval plate and covered the chips. Far more coverage area than other places in town. The pico and guacamole (a lot of both) were both fresh and full of flavor. The pastor was crispy on the outside moist, on the inside, full of flavor and there were several fatty pieces as an extra bonus. The burrito was ok, felt that it was bland and a bit dry, not from the lack of sauce on the outside. I was surprised as most of the places I have Chorizo there is much more flavor. It was difficult to tell if I was eating eggs or chorizo. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. While I do not plan to get the burrito again, we are planning on coming back to try come of the other options and/or to try their happy hour! read more

10/5/2924- In the area and had heard good things- Really nice inside with tables and booths.. Service very attentive- Self serve salsa sauces- Ambiance was great with nice music.. Went with the chicken taquitos-.. One if the best I've had.. and a lot! Tender chicken and nicely crisp.. Chicken enchilada with a green sauce, rice and beans - Better than our regular go to spot!! Cinco de Mayo and we went again. Same free chips and visits to the salsa bar. Same caring service and excellent food. Same for me, chile relleno plus a side of rice. My wife chose a street taco and enchilada, beans and rice. Each item was as good as last time or excellent for the first time. It's quite a trip from home to east Sparks but worth it. I have eaten here a couple of times. Soft tacos are very good. $8 will get you three. I have eaten beef, fish (sea bass) and shrimp tacos. Taco Tuesday with a visit. How to make a four and a half star into a five star experience? READ ON! We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. Great place, clean, room between tables, good crowd.. we were seated in a booth and give menus. Immediately received a basket of chips and DH stopped by the salsa bar. We tried three of them and they were all phenomenal. The SUPER HOT Habanero was very good - if you like the heat. We do. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer - very good. large portion. Took most home .. and I believe DH ate it for a midnight snack. We enjoyed the Carnitas Plate and the Torta - and both were more than we could eat - took half home. But the most important part - the food was super tasty. And the 4.5 to 5 stars? Our waiter brought us a little dish of a warm green salsa - he said he loves this with his carnitas. Just a touch of personal service goes a long way. I wish they had a beer/wine license - at least. It would be great to enjoy a Modelo or margarita with our meal. read more

Stopped by here last night to check out this new to us Mexican restaurant. Mi Pueblo is in a shopping area next to a gun store and a National Guard recruiting office. The restaurant is very cute and nicely decorated. We walked in and saw a sign that said order here. So we walked up the counter but the guy asked if we were eating there and then said to have a seat. The menu is pretty straightforward with the usual Mexican food. They have a nice variety of proteins as well as vegetarian options. I did notice they don't have combos like a taco and enchilada those are "ala-cart" options with rice and beans and extra $5. They bring you a basket of chips and point you to their salsa bar. The salsa bar had a avocado salsa, a chunky read salsa that had really good flavor and a nice kick, a very thin and watery red salsa that at first I thought had no flavor but ended up with a very nice mild to spicy flavor and last a habanero one which I declined lol I also didn't try the avocado one as I am allergic but my husband tried it and said he really didn't like it. I ordered a ground beef enchilada with red sauce. The meat the red sauce has good flavor. I ordered a crispy ground beef taco which was standard gringo taco but wasn't horrible. The ground beef was a bit greasy but I didn't mind. The rice was good not the best but better than other Mexican places. The refried beans could have had more flavor. My husband got the carne asada steak with shrimp as well as rice and beans. He said it was all very good and had lots of flavor he cleared his plate so I am guessing he liked it. We will be back soon in fact I'd go back tonight! read more

I heard a new taqueria opened in Sparks and that it was pretty good. I shot over about 4 pm to try out "Mi Pueblo". It's in a strip mall at the corner of Sparks Blvd and Prater Way. I was expecting a taqueria but it's a little nicer than what you would normally expect We were seated and waited on. I ordered the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. The server brought a big bowl of chips and directed us to a salsa bar with a cover to keep it cold Four flavors. Mild, medium, hot and super hot. All were good. Hot was my favorite. The super hot is habanero based so the heat sneaks up on you The fajita was awesome. Very generous portions. Instead of just a bed of sautéed onions there were tomatoes mushrooms and peppers as well Looks like this will be a regular stop for me! read more

Stopped in for lunch at Mi Pueblo in Sparks and was pleasantly surprised! The portions are generous, and I love that they have a self-serve salsa bar with several great options. I ordered the shrimp burrito bowl, which was good but needed a bit more flavor -- thankfully, the salsa bar came to the rescue and added the perfect kick. The restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly, the portions are large. The homemade salsa in the salsa bar is excellent, and the prices are very competitive. This is one of my husband's favorite restaurants. I like it, but lately the meat has tasted very smoky. I realize that I am one of the minority of people who doesn't like a smoky flavor (most everyone else I know loves it) but I do wish they'd go back to however they cooked it before because I preferred it not so smoky. I don't think that's a drawback to most people out there, though. read more

This is our new favorite for authentic Mexican food! I explored all of their salsas and found their green and red salsas were equally delicious. Next time I'm ordering a wet Burrito with both sauces. Lol The salsa bar was delicious, we enjoyed all of them with our chips. The shrimp fajitas were delicious and I stole a bite of my son's chicken quesadilla. Service was friendly and like our previous visit phenomenal! The dining room is cozy and homey! I love the way I feel when I'm here. Oh and they now serve margaritas. The food was delicious! Highly recommend the ceviche, it's super fresh and flavorful, you can tell the ingredients are fresh and of good quality. The fajitas come sizzling straight from grill with everything you need. The salsas are freshly made in house and taste awesome. The agua frescas are super yummy too! The staff was super welcoming and answered any questions we had about the food and made sure to check on us throughout the meal. My buddy and I stopped in here a few days ago because it was next to the Reno Academy of Combat indoor range. We walked in and were greeted and given a table almost immediately. Since I haven't had mole in almost 20 years, I ordered the bean, rice and cheese burrito with mole sauce. We also ordered nacho fries for an appetizer. The portion of the nacho fries were huge. It was topped with fresh tomatoes and cilantro with a dollop of guacamole and sour cream. It was good. I should've taken a picture before I dove into it. Then I got my bean burrito. It was huge, smothered in mole sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds. I think they were sesame seeds. It tasted good. I couldn't finish it all. It was big. I took half of it to go. I think next time I'll get the burrito without the mole sauce. I'm more a traditional, plain Jane guy. If you order water to drink, they fill the first cup for you. Then you have to refill your cup on your own. No problem though. They have a water dispenser on the counter. I can't wait to go back and try something else. It was really good. One of my favorite Mexican places in town. The salsa bar is so amazing and there hasn't been anything I've tried I haven't loved. The pastor is amazing but I've had almost all the tacos and they are so good, especially the salsa they put on the meat ones (seafood have a crema.) the service is always great and the owners are really nice. I've also had the bowlrito which was so much food and I've seen the burritos are massive too. Highly recommend for a delicious meal! read more

I had dinner with friends at Mi Pueblo. The food was really tasty. My friends ordered a la carte tacos and I ordered a carne asada burritto with green sauce. The burrito was huge and tasty. I brought half home! Only drawback is they don't serve margaritas because they don't have a liquor license. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the service was right on the money. Came in here for the burritos since they got such high ratings. I was greeted immediately and the server was nice and proffesional. The carne asada burrito was wonderful and the added avocado slices were large and went through the entire burrito which at most places they don't. The establishment was clean and the seats were very comfortable. read more

The food was super good. I got the kids' burrito with chicken and added avocado. It was plenty big, and I still actually took some home. My daughter had the chicken enchilada and said the chicken meat was moist and flavorful, and my husband got the chicken mole burrito he said the sauce was very good and just the right amount of sweet. My grandson had the beef taco, and he loved it. The beef had the right amount of crisp and had good flavor. My other grandson had the Quesadilla and it comes with rice and beans. Your order st the counter and then they bring yiu your food. They kept checking to make sure we were good, and they bring your chip refill. We didn't even have to ask they are mindful of their guests. They also have a salsa bar with some really good salsas, from mild to hot. It is cute and very clean inside. We will be back. Bland, Flavorless & Overcooked I can't remember the last time I've been this disappointed by a restaurant with such rave Yelp reviews. We both ordered the carne asada--generally a safe choice. The carne asada was the worst we've ever had (refer to title of review) anywhere. NEVER order the pinto beans, as they were boiled whole beans with no seasoning at all. The rice and refried beans were palatable, not just an afterthought, as is the case with most Latino restaurants. Price wasn't bad--$45 for 2 large meals--lots of leftovers that will probably ultimately be dog treats for Turbo, our Shiba Inu. The takeout was packaged very well & staff was very sweet though they didn't appear overly glad to be there. Food: 1 Service: 3 Thus the average of 2 stars. There's a new sheriff in town!!! Heard about this place from a friend who highly recommended it so I decided to check it out and it was way worth it. I ordered the California Burrito and two chicken lettuce wrapped tacos. The Burrito was just massive, one of the biggest I've seen in town and delicious. The lettuce wrapped tacos come with a generous amount of meat and the meat and also delicious. The salsa bar was also cool, you can serve yourself as much as you need. The habanero salsa was spicy but so good. The green mild salsa tis perfect for anyone who doesn't want spice but a great tasting salsa. The owner and his wife are so welcoming and nice. They greeted us upon entry and were very attentive. It's a new restaurant with a great environment, I definitely will be coming back regularly and I recommend it to anyone. read more

No smiles, no "how was everything?", no "can I get you a refill or anything else?". And the food was meh as well. It wasn't bad or anything but it damn sure wasn't 5-star worthy. This place is a solid 3 all day long. Hopefully they improve the service and add some flavor to the food. The molè sauce was bomb, but not enough to carry a mediocre burrito. We all ordered different things on the menu and we all agreed everything was very good. No fountain drinks but real Coke in a bottle can't be compared to fountain. Much better.
