Black Rock Desserts have some of the best ice cream and sweet treats in Reno. Their banana milkshake comes with a whole chocolate covered frozen banana! Also love their crème brûlée!

A 15 minute walk from Circus Circus, if you need a break from the casino atmosphere. Friendly service and yummy ice cream. Many options on the sundaes. Also gluten free options!!

Came here on a Friday night and there was a few people in here so the service was great and got the sample the ice cream. The ice cream is always a blast to sample and very creamy. The waffles are made fresh, they have a ton of toppings. The flavors were delicious and flavorful.

It was ok, it lacked toppings that are typically in ice cream places like hot fudge or Reeces cups, the chocolate shell is different though. Tried the brownie , it was dry and probably should be heated up, the deep chocolate ice cream was good . Overall I would not rush back. The service was great though and she was pleasant.

Really appreciated their variety of flavors! They do especially well with the fruit-based flavors.

Honest food rood review: Need a place to cool down for the summer? Look no further! 5/5 Wanted to give the business owner and his Black Rock Dessert shop a drop of recognition for this beautiful flight of ice cream! Not just was it delicious with 4 different flavors, but was priced competitively as well as priced right for the flavor! With the combinations we got, I would say the Cinnamon Toast Crunch was everything I could have asked for from an ice cream. It was delicious and just the perfect consistency for ice cream. Rich, creamy, and just overall wow factor from this cold treat. Located near the river this is definitely a spot you don't want to sleep on. I'm glad we stopped by to give them a shot, definitely made a client out of us and you'll be one too!

Best ice cream I've ever had and the workers are always amazing, super-friendly and very knowledgeable. Always a must-stop place for me when I'm in town for work.

Good ice cream, very fun and festive concoctions. The service is great and the inside is nice and cool too. The kids really like coming here and getting all the different creations.

We stopped for a small snack at Black Rock Desserts which specialized in uniquely created milkshakes, and we shared the Trash Fence, and it was amazing. They also had a lot of fun games to play onsite. They pride themselves on out of this world scrumptious ice cream and outrageous desserts handcrafted daily from available local ingredients.

Best ice cream stop in Reno! The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted him to make his own flight toppings based on the flavors I picked and it was AMAZING. So freaking good I cannot wait to be back. They have such amazing flavors and service!!!!

Ice Cream Flight- lucky charms, Mexican hot chocolate, banana, and cinnamon crunch.

What are your hours? We just tried to come on a Saturday 2Pm and it was closed.

Even though their website says they are open Tues-Sunday (Tues-Thurs from Noon to 9pm and Fri-Sun from Noon to 10pm) it appears that they are ONLY open during the evenings. I, too, took my teenage granddaughter there yesterday (Friday) at 3:00pm…

Is this place still open? According to their hours they are, but I work in the area and they are never open

Yes!!! And they were really good! I sampled them.

YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I enjoyed it and that is what makes me want to return to try the chocolate chip cookie.

We stopped in to Sierra Nevada Bakery and Creamery for a little afternoon treat after a nearby…read moreshow. I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.

Just go there in the nice summer weather and pick up a pint or a cup to eat there. Outside has plenty more seating than inside, but I do het that the winter months people prefer to be inside. Overall high quality ice cream. So many flavors. I think I have tried 20 percent of them. Staff members are the sweetest and get your ice cream promptly to you. The kings may seem intimidating, but they aren't. You go in and out within 10 to 15 minutes. Depends more on the line and how long you order.

The service here is pretty fast. As soon as we ordered, our ice creams were assembled in the back and brought to us. I opted for the dark-chocolate-raspberry with vanilla on a peanut-dark-chocolate cone. It was delicious but too much to finish after a big meal. One of my friends had the dairy-free coffee ice cream and said it wasn't very flavorful. His wife tasted it and agreed. We originally planned to eat outside because it is very noisy inside between the hard floors, music, and kids, but it was raining a little and too hot, so we went back inside to wait out the rain. There was plenty of seating but it was REALLY hard to hear anything anyone was saying because of the noise level. Great spot, excellent speedy service. Don't forget napkins, though! You'll need more than you think.

They also sell soaps and bath products shaped like realistic desserts, which I love and thought were such a cute touch. My daughter chose the pink strawberry ice cream with the pink strawberry cone. The flavor was great. It tasted fresh with real pieces of strawberry throughout and nothing artificial-tasting. I also liked that the cone itself had strawberry flavor woven into it rather than just being dyed pink or coated in toppings. I originally planned to get a second flavor to try, but the single scoop cone was over $10 so we decided to just share. We also came after seeing an Instagram post about their seasonal Lucky Charms cone and thought it included the ice cream shown in the photo, but it turned out to just be the cone. The advertising appeared to be made with AI and, for that reason, was a bit misleading when it came to representation of the ice cream available. Parking was probably the biggest challenge. The lot is very small and with the one-way directions in the lot, and around the block, it took a bit to find a spot. Inside there are only a few seats. There were four stools at a counter, and with another family there we ended up sharing a single bar stool. The bright interior makes it a place you want to hang out, but the limited seating makes that tricky. Still, the ice cream itself was very good and it was a fun outing with my daughter.

Delicious ice cream sandwiches with fresh baked cookies and scoops of ice cream as well as waffle cones and kid sized cones with ice cream. The more impressive part of Lazy Sundae is their execution. Despite crowds, they expertly churned out ice cream sandwiches and ice cream scoops of multiple flavors (Blueberry, Strawberry, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, Birthday Cake) and numerous cookies (Snickerdoodle, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip). Our order: Snickerdoodle Cookie Sandwich with Vanilla Bean - super fresh cookie with a huge scoop of delicious vanilla bean ice cream. I'm not sure if they outsource or make their own ice cream but it's high quality. Super soft and fresh snickerdoodle Cookie. Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwich with Strawberry Ice Cream - huge chunks of strawberry and a very fresh peanut butter cookie. It's delicious! Mint Chocolate Chip with Waffle Cone - Surprisingly the ice cream looks almost like vanilla and has no trace of the radioactive green color you see in most store bought mint ice cream, but the mint flavor is strong and unmistakable as well as a perfect match for the delicious chocolate chips. Overall, I was super impressed with this ice cream truck. Quality was phenomenal and every flavor was superb. Highly recommended!
