After a lovely sunny coffee date at Hub, a sweet treat was definitely the way to go, and Rolled Mountain Creamery had everything delicious! They have a large menu of premade flavor combos that are sweet and chocolately or fruity or you can build your own. I got a coffee flavored combo with espresso ganache and toffee bits and my boyfriend got a maraschino cherry flavor combo with chocolate sauce and mini choco chips! Both were so creamy delicious and flavorful. The most exciting thing to me is you can choose for your ice cream to be made with dairy milk or oat milk, lactose intolerant people rejoice!!

Good quality ice cream. I always order the Peaches N Cream. It's a must-buy with a light taste, fruity and creamy flavor, and airy texture. It's not too heavy on the sugar. They make their ice cream pretty quickly, and watching them roll the ice cream is always a spectacle. Also, they honor student discounts, which is always a plus!

Rolled Mountain Creamery is a fun place to go to try out a different form of ice cream by selecting one of their signature options or a build your own. We stopped in for some ice cream and I had the signature cherry and my husband build his own with chocolate, oreos, and sour gummy worms. Both of our ice creams were really good! The shop is small with no seating inside but there is plenty of seating outside or it's a great location to grab ice cream and walk along the river either to downtown or Idlewild Park. Overall, I would say the prices are pretty high considering the quality and quantity of the ice cream but it is cool to see them make the ice cream and to roll it up. The staff was friendly as well and assisted with any questions we had!

Cute location in a nice neighborhood right by the river. The service was really friendly and kind. Ice Cream was a tad on the sweeter side, but what do you expect from Ice Cream. Would recommend :) They share their store with a chocolate shop as well if you are in the mood for Truffles.

I came here twice. I the first time I felt the customer service was not quite welcoming, however, the ice cream was delicious. I brought my big family here yesterday and we had a great experience. I've never experiencing ice cream quite like this. They make it fresh right in front of you in an absolutely beautiful neighborhood. Truly a wonderful experience.

Fun ice cream place in Reno close to the river. We got there around three on a Saturday and had a wait, we soon discovered it's because the ice cream is so labor-intensive. Every one is made to order, starting with either a cream or oat milk base. Lots of recommendations to choose from or you can make your own. It was fun to watch them make it I had the cappuccino and my husband the Kooky dough. It was fun and the ice cream tasted good but at 9 bucks each I wouldn't make it a habit. A fun experience and it was nice to enjoy it outside.

2nd time visiting and it didn't disappoint. Staff is friendly. Got lucky walked in yesterday and got to order right away. Lots of selections on menu or you can make your own. First time had the Signature Cherry but this time tried the Somoa. Both were great but I think I'll stick to the Signature Cherry. They make your ice cream right in front of you. They have seating right outside the entrance and perfect location to walk across to the Truckee river. Go check it out--- definitely worth it!

It's been years since I have been in here with my kiddos. We came in for a sweet treat this past weekend. Cold treats are the only thing that sound good these days. On this trip we ordered a peanut butter bomb, cookies n cream with gummy worms and a yam bam for myself. My toddler loved the show of watching the rolled ice cream be made. I did pick up a few other treats from Dorindas because why not?! Sea salt caramels and caramel popcorn were perfect for a movie night in. The young gentleman working got us through their line fairly quickly. We'll be back sooner than waiting another six years to come in. My little guy is already looking forward to our next visit.

Really cute ice cream shop. My kids have been watching rolled ice cream on YouTube and have been dying to go to one. It is connected to Dorinda's chocolate shop with is cute. The staff were 3 young men who were nice and welcoming. Excited to see us which was nice. We ordered 3 ice creams, peaches n cream, cherry and coffee. All were really good and reasonably priced ( about 8.50 each). It's not as creamy as cold stone or other ice cream places but still good. There's no inside seating which is a bummer because it was raining outside and the outdoor seating was all wet but overall good experience.

TL DR: if you're lactose intolerant, the only alternative as a base is oat milk. I've learned today I'm not a fan of oat milk rolled ice cream, I miss their coconut milk base. Their service is exceptional. I had one of the friendliest and most patient staff members explaining all of the options and seasonal flavors. (Please consider tipping them for their hard work.) If I had to rate this place based on service alone no question it's a 5/5! The taste of the ice cream is what brought my rating down. Service: as stated above the service at this location was exceptional ! She was so patient and kind. It had been a few years since I've been to rolled so I had forgotten how the process works. Because of my lactose sensitivity I asked her what flavors worked and went well. She took the time to explain the options and did it without any sort of attitude or frustration. I also appreciated her honest and well thought out suggestions. 5/5!!! The location is neat, clean, and they have some nice chocolate items for sale. There's no in door seating but I didn't mind the outdoor seating. Taste: I've had oat milk products/ ice cream before and haven't had issues with an after taste. I also like matcha, so I ordered the matcha oat milk rolled ice cream without boba. While the initial taste was okay, I found that there was this weird aftertaste to the ice cream. In terms of sweetness it was a great balance of not being too sweet, but I couldn't get past that aftertaste. 2.5/5 I thought the price was also a little steep. I had some rolled ice cream a few weeks ago in Canada and it was about half the price. But I am aware that they're in different markets, countries, and have different suppliers. Also inflation, so I can't fault them for that. If you're seeking a more traditional ice cream or gelato price point wise that would be a better option. However a major pro is their plant based vs milk based is at the same price point! That's very considerate! Overall, I don't think I would go back for their oat based products. Something tasted a little off and I just couldn't put my finger on that aftertaste...Maybe I'll try their ice cream with a lactase pill (milk based product) in the future.

Love the location of this ice cream shop. Right across the street from the Truckee river and another Dorinda's partnership you can get great chocolates and ice cream at the same location! I had the Rocky Road really good but a little more marshmallow than I would have wanted which made it so thick and sticky it was hard to navigate. But still delicious!

    Tori Y.

SO GOOD EVERY TIME! I did the make your own with raspberries, graham crackers and a brownie. It is a little bit of an expensive ice cream, but it is an experience! It's also in a great location where you can go and sit on their patio or eat your ice cream near the river.

hello there first time here at rolled mountain creamery if you're looking for parking, there are parking around the neighborhoods service was great, daniel helped provide alternatives and assisted with any menu questions I custom ordered the taro base with pecans, coffee, caramel swirl and a cherry on top. 4/5 taro was light and savory, while the rest stood out more in flavor. great rolled ice cream technique, soft and melts in your mouth and if you're outside in the heat. be warned eat quick outside in the seating areas. I recommend this spot, if you have not checked it out. cool little shop area in the corner with hip rustic vibes.

The scone was a little too flaky, in my opinion, but was still very tasty. It didn't look like a lot of food, but we were both very satisfied. I am definitely going to bring my Mom back for this. Also, the mini cakes here (not included in high tea) are absolutely gorgeous. They are not too sweet, and remind me of what I used to get at cafes in Japan. I hadn't yet had a chance to try their chocolate, and this was an amazing opportunity to not only try a wide variety (mint meltaway, peanut butter cup, espresso bean, chocolate pretzel), but to also make some by hand! Visitors were allowed back into the kitchen, where we washed hands and donned gloves, and were then given a tutorial in how to dip and decorate dark chocolate salted caramels. Mine were not too bad (I'll keep my day job), but they absolutely tasted delicious. All of the chocolates had a very fresh and distinctly non-mass-produced taste. Dorinda's clearly offers high-quality candies, while also coming up with some amazing flavors like the rice crispies and the strawberry balsamic. (I got to taste the actual olive oil used for this, and I will have to pick some up next time I'm in Truckee). The biggest surprise was their cherry cordial. Cherries are my top 2 favorite chocolates, and these are absolutely the best I've had (better than See's, Godiva, etc.). Perfect blend of dark chocolate, tart maraschino cherry, liquid center, and the bit of fondant icing...and noticeably freshly made. Thank you Dorinda's for the opportunity to discover your chocolates and to get a glimpse into the magic behind these delicious candies. TIP: You can also pre-order and pick up your Frost Giant Creamery (small batch, locally sourced, made from scratch) ice cream here.
