My partner in crime and I had our monthly lunch get-together to start off the New Year by driving all the way down to South Reno. I have had Yosh's on my radar for a while. We were glad we made the trip. The Ambiance is casual and no frills, but also open with nice spacing between tables and lots of windows to let in the natural. There is also a lot of outdoor seating which was not really an option in January. It's a walk up and order and pay process. They give you a number and the food is brought to the table. The staff were friendly and professional. Soft drinks are self serve. My friend and I split our order. No problem, separate bills, and sperate plates. The food overall was good. We deemed the pork schnitzel sandwich delicious and the BLT salad OK. Portions were quite adequate. The plates came out in a timely manner. The only complaint we had was the tables were not cleaned off. Also, the bathroom was also in need of tending. It would be worth a return visit if I were in that part of Reno. Not sure I would drive out of my way to eat there again.
This was my first visit to Josh's. You place your order and they bring it to the table. Nancy V and I decided to share a sandwich and salad. They split it for us. Service was very friendly. Pork schnitzel sandwich was delicious. BLT salad was good not great. Places friendly. Plenty of seating .. inside only. I think, however, they need a new sign. You can hardly read the name of the restaurant. Perhaps it should be painted in white on the door like everyone else seems to have in the strip mall. Anyway, I definitely look forward to going again and trying some of their other items. Desserts looked really good, but it's a new year and we are all trying to eat a little better. Maybe next time.
I've loved everything I've ever ordered here! The salads are creative, filling, and delicious and the sandwiches are truly mouthwatering. I come here often for lunch during the week. It's close to my office and a great quick, delicious option. I love sitting on the patio when weather allows.

I came in with family on a gorgeous September Saturday and enjoyed lunch on the patio. The staff was very personable and made us feel welcomed. I ordered a Tri-TIp on gluten-free bread. It was so delicious! Topped with onions and cheese it was heavenly. The bread was a little crumbly, I think I know where they get it from locally, it could be better.

I worked at Whispering vine next-door for five years and was never truly a fan of the portions for the price ratio. However, today, I ordered when she got, which was the house salad with chicken. I ate every last bite. From the dressing to the candied nuts, and the organic spring mix, right down to the chicken, it was lip smackin' good!
Yosh's Deli is hands-down one of my favorite sandwich spots in Reno. This place has a long history in the community--originally started back in 1973 as Unique Delicatessen--and you can feel that tradition in every bite. The sandwiches and salads here are truly delicious. Their freshly baked breads (including gluten-free options) are fantastic, especially the Dutch crunch roll, which is legendary for a reason. The meats are smoked in-house, and you can taste the care that goes into every slice. They also get creative with weekly specials inspired by cuisines from around the world, which keeps things fun and different each visit. Service is always quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy--whether you're sitting inside or enjoying some fresh air outside. It's the kind of place that feels local and welcoming, because it is: a family-owned deli run with real passion for quality food. Kids love a grilled cheese sandwich on the sweet French bread. Tried Yosh's deli for the first time and it was excellent and came highly recommended! We had the Cinque Terre sandwich on the Swiss onion bread. The smoked tri tip sandwich was also very tasty! It was so flavorful, fresh, and delicious will definitely be back to try other items! A bonus for us was they delivered it next door to Whispering Vine!
Friendly service, greeted as soon as I walked in. I ordered the Dutch Crunch sandwich, roasted turkey, mayo , lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, pepperochini, oil and vinegar, and pasta salad. Over the food is good, wasn't too soggy with the oil and vinegar along with the tomatoes, like most sandwich places. I would be back and recommend yosh's deli. The place is quiet, at the time I went in around 11, just before lunch hour. The shop is near NV beer , and boutique shops.
Yosh's is amazing. A very cozy environment and kind staff. I went here before on a work lunch and have been hooked ever since. Their Reuben is FIRE! My friend ordered the BLT salad and got her daughter the Caesar salad. I tried a bit of each and it was all amazing. And please do yourself a favor and order a lemon bar. By far my favorite dessert here!
I cannot tell you how impressed I was with this sandwich!!! My husband and I were in South Reno and stopped in for some lunch and were so stoked. Both of our sandwiches were SO delicious and huge!! Next time I could definitely get away with a half sandwich. I got the veggie and added chicken and would recommend 5/5! We sat outside with our pup and enjoyed their patio. There was a decent amount of people in the shop but we still got our food super fast. The plaza the deli is in is so cute too. I was still dreaming about this sandwich to the point that I came in and told my coworkers about it and how we have to order from here for our next company function - everyone at the nurses station commented with raving reviews about the times they have been !!

The house salad was AMAZING! It was full of leafy greens, cranberries, croutons, candied nuts and a really yummy vinegarett. The Reuben was good too. Pastrami stacked high with Swiss on a marbled sourdough bread. Always a staple sandwich. The meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes was different. Not my favorite, but I wanted to try something new. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Definitely check them out if you're in the south end of town.
Highly impressed right from the start, this is an absolute must visit! The patio is so beautiful, spacious and dog friendly. The indoor dining and front counter is well designed, organized, and inviting with lots of room. The staff were all so nice and helpful with suggestions and information about popular menu items. The food was absolutely excellent, I am so excited to continue coming back here. There are so many more items that I need to try! I was very happy with my half sized smoked Tri-tip sandwich. It was the perfect amount along with a small side of potato salad which was so fresh and to die for. I'm a sucker for chopped grilled onions and Havarti cheese, so I'm happy that came on my sandwich already. Thank you Yosh's crew! I'm happy that you're here in my neighborhood.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We had a private event- a family celebration dinner- at Yosh's and everything was amazing. First, the food was great. They have a separate catering menu that includes a wonderful variety of entrees and sides. It was served buffet style with staff available to help serve. They set up the tables for us and we just brought our own flowers. The space was beautiful and perfect for what we needed. Most importantly the service was amazing. Josh and Kristina were so helpful and accommodating. I recommend them for any event you do. The price was very reasonable too! Thank you Yosh's! read more

My fiancee and i have been here a couple times and it has always been a good experience.. the restaurant is a good size inside with plenty of seating and they have a patio outside with a handful of tables. The staff is always nice and helpful. We like to ask for suggestions they are happy to help. One of my favorite sandwiches is the French dip on their Swiss and onion bread.. the beef is tender and not super fatty. The au ju is flavorful, not too salty and doesn't leave some coat of something on your tongue.. the swiss/onion bread works so so well with everything.. the flavor of the Swiss cheese goes well with the au ju. We've had a few different sandwiches. my fiancée loved the meatloaf one and we both love the recent weekly specials.. This week is the chicken curry salad sandwich and last week was the Carolina pulled pork.. I lost my mind with that one.. so so flavorful. I couldn't stop eating it. I forgot it was a weekly special and we got it on the last day. So so sad.. wish it was a regular on the menu.. They have a list of sandwiches but you can also make your own and choose which bread you want on any of them. The thing I love about them is you can order a half sandwich. Sometimes a full sandwich is a little too much and other times you just want a lite meal.. Cant wait to swe their next weekly special. read more

They've been around so long, we forgot they existed. We were in the area, and my wife said let's go have lunch! We dropped by on a Tuesday at 1:00pm, and they were spot on with everything! My wife had a French Dip with provolone cheese on Parmesan Pesto bread. I must say that the au jus that comes with it should be bottled and sold by the gallon! The carrot cake for dessert was divine. I went with their awesome Meatloaf with grilled onions on a "Swiss Onion roll"... Chef's Kiss! I have to encourage you to try their Loaded Baked Potato Salad - incredible! With the volume of customers at lunch time, they still have a spotless dining room - inside and outside! read more

Yoshi's today for lunch. I love their Gobbler, but today it was disappointing. I ordered Dutch Crunch bread and it arrived looking like nothing I have ever seen. Add to that the bread absorbed everything in the sandwich making it a soggy mess. When we commented on it, we were told they have a new baker who is working on the breads! My friend ordered the same bread and her sandwich was soggy too. Not a good experience today. read more
We were in Reno recently and looking for a good place to have lunch. We're glad we found Yosh's! Here is what we noticed: - Lots of seating indoors, and also some out front (too cold for us on the day we went, but it would be great when the weather is warmer). - You order at a counter, they give you a number, and then deliver your food to your table. - Lots of specialty sandwiches, as well the ability to customize one. We didn't see the lunch combos (half sandwich and soup or salad) before we ordered, but we'd order one of those next time for sure. - My wife and I ordered two half sandwiches, which was plenty of food. Both sandwiches were excellent: the Cinque Terre was probably our favorite, but the Portobello Mushroom was also really good (and it had a little kick). We got the Dutch Crunch bread on one and the Sweet French bread on the other...both were really yummy! Bottom line: We plan to go back sometime to try some of the other interesting looking offerings. read more
Yup. It's been four years on the road and we're scouting locations in town this week. Some memories never fade. Let's just say I didn't need a Yelp search to find today's lunch destination. Same great atmosphere, same great vegan chili and the staff are somehow nicer. Not sure how they could be, but they are. That chili packs a small jolt. Absolutely love it. While I'm not a big meatball sub fan, I gave this sandwich a whirl and it was terrific. Add those wonderful dills and the homemade iced tea, Yosh's is still a winner in our book. 09/24 read more
My first time trying Yosh's and I don't think I would return based on this experience. My husband really likes this place. I'm not big on sandwiches but figured I'd try it since he was going to pick up food for him and a friend there today. I love a good French dip, so I went with that! It came with au jus for dipping and a side, I went with tuna salad and it was good. I was pretty disappointed in the sandwich because one of the pieces of bread was totally burnt. It was hard to even taste the meat since the burnt flavor was quite overbearing. I was surprised to see they would serve a sandwich on bread that was so burnt instead of just remaking it. For that reason, I don't think it deserves higher than 2 stars today. read more

GO. Truly, go here. We are big DDD followers and went to Reno 2 years ago and I did not plan well and we missed going here. This trip it was my mission! Unbelievably the shop has been closed 3 months and reopened the day before my trip! Service was excellent the place was clean and has a beautiful patio (forgot pic) in a nice semi shaded area with lots of greenery. Food was excellent, I needed to try that dutch crunch bread and it did not disappoint! My husband had the tri tip which is hard to fond in the midwest where we reside and was amazed at its flavor as well as the Swiss onion bread. read more

Busy lunch spot on a weekday but able to get a table outside. Ordered the half sandwich and salad. I wanted to try the gluten free focaccia but they were out of it so got another gluten free bread instead. It was pretty dry and not much pesto on it but the turkey and veggies were good. The salad was the house salad. I enjoyed the dried cherries and dressing but didn't care for the grilled onions in it. Overall not a bad lunch but would get something different next time. Pretty pricey here, for two lunches with drinks, I did like the fresh teas and lemonade, it was over $30. read more

A few days ago I went to Yosh's I saw their episode on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and the place must have had some hype at the time, which is why my coworker chose to work there. The last time I tried the sandwich with my coworker it tasted amazing, so that's why I decided to come back. Honestly, this visit didn't live up to that. Right when I walked in I didn't feel very welcome because the girl at the counter seemed like she didn't want to be there, which made the whole vibe a little off. Finding the restaurant was a challenge too, the sign is really small and I ended up circling the area a few times before I found it. I ordered the smoked tri-tip sandwich on Dutch crunch. The bread was burnt on top, way darker than it should be and the tri-tip, grilled onions, and cheese weren't warm or melted. I expected it to be served hot, especially since the last one I had here was. I'm not sure if this one had been sitting for a while but it definitely wasn't served right. I also tried the tomato and sweet pepper soup because it's a popular item and I wanted to see what the hype was about. The menu says it contains nuts, but honestly it just tasted like plain tomato soup. I didn't really notice any pepper flavor or nuttiness and it was completely smooth with no texture, so it didn't feel like the soup they described. Overall, the sandwich looked good in photos, but between the underwhelming food, burnt bread, soup that didn't match the menu, and the unwelcoming service, it was a disappointing visit. Maybe it was an off day, but it definitely wasn't what I expected from a place with this reputation. read more

Came here on my lunch today and ordered the Veggie sandwich and a cup of vegetarian soup...... Let me start off by saying I'm so mad I didn't try this place sooner. Hands down this is the best veggie sandwich I ever had. I got a half on Dutch crunch. I don't eat cheese but it comes with pepper jack. Still amazing!! The soup is tomato based with carrots, celery, red peppers, asparagus and kidney beans. I'm a very happy camper. Shockingly I only paid $10 all of it. Customer service is great and my food came out quickly considering it was lunch hour. I will be back!! read more

Oh, wow! The Korean Pulled Pork sammich is phenomenal! Exterior and interior are clean and in great repair. Seating is tables and chairs. Walls have photos. Staff are friendly and very informative. (What bread do you recommend? Sweet French of crusty Dutch.) Service is fast. The sandwich! Wow! Most, tender, perfectly seasoned, superior condiments--they done great! I HIGHLY recommend Yosh's and especially their Korean Pulled Pork Sammich! read more
