I love that it's made to order, and it's pretty good in general food. The variety of things on the menu makes it exciting. my biggest complaint is the price and the size of the chicken tenders. They're pretty small, but on the other hand, they may be using heirloom or organic chicken. If they are, it really needs to be more advertised because that would make the price make sense. Slim Chickens might be called "slim" because their portions leave a lot to be desired. Overall portions are too small and items are very overpriced! I ordered the wrap and it cost over $10 for the wrap alone. It came out and the wrap was max 6 inches long and very small, hardly any chicken and used too much ranch (probably to cover the dryness). It was gone in a few bites. For reference, the sauce cups are the small sauce cups that hold maybe a tablespoon of sauce. The wrap was barely the size of a snack wrap. Do with that what you will. I've been wanting to try Slim Chickens since they opened. I didn't feel like cooking and it seemed like the right time to try something new. Love the location and proximity to my home. We went through the drive through. It was a very easy process to do. The service was fast and friendly! We ordered the Chicken Sandwich platters which came with a small side or fries. We didn't order the drinks since we had some at home. The chicken sandwich was extremely salty, and the quality of the chicken definitely wasn't there. Yummy! My boy and I needed a quick lunch and he asked if we could go here, so as to not disappoint, slim chickens it was. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the food arrived and how fresh it tasted. I had the grilled tenders which were fantastic and my boy had the regular tenders. Decided to try out the new guy in the South part of town-Slim Chickens. Decided to do a quick drive thru for lunch. Love that they have a sign with a QR code so I could pruse the menu before getting up to the order window. Decided on a chicken club meal and a cayenne ranch Sando meal. Lunch at the new South Reno Slim Chickens was a very nice experience. Parking is easy, and there is a drive-thru if you're in a hurry. We chose to eat inside and were greeted by the friendly staff members. Ordering is easy, and they have lots of choices. We decided to split a Hungry Meal with an extra side (because we couldn't agree on one). The meal included seven tenders, our choice of sauces, Texas toast, and a drink. We choose fried okra and fried mushrooms. The service was quick, and the food was hot, and not at all greasy. The tenders were hot and juicy with not too much breading, which is a good thing. They're a little on the smaller end though. Fries were hand cut, hot, and salty but many were not crispy enough. Me and my son went to get some dinner . Was immediately greeted when walked in. Carter J who helped us get our order was amazing and attentive. The place is very clean and nice . We both got the Classic meal which comes with 4 tenders , toast , Fries and we opted for Lrg drink for the collectors cup. I believe limited time while supplies last. Plenty of options on sauces and also drinks . Soda and like 4 different Teas too. The staff was great. It didn't take long for our order either. The staff were all young adults--super friendly, helpful, and clearly cared about making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I don't know... Maybe they're still too new. A few weeks ago I was running errands and I was really craving some chicken after I finished a workout. The only place for quick chicken nearby was Cane's, Chick-fil-A, and the new Slim chickens in South Reno. I decided to drive thru on my way home and I ordered a four piece combo. I don't drink fountain drinks so I got a water, looks like I was charged for water because he gave me a bottle of water. Then I noticed that I was charged for the extra sauce that he said he could throw in. I didn't know they charged for extra sauces. By the time I got home, which was only less than 2 miles away, fries and so called garlic bread were soggy. This did not satisfy my chicken tender craving. read more

I'm from Northwest Arkansas originally which is where Slims originated! I was excited when Slims came to Sparks, but now I'm even more excited that we have one here in Reno! I would describe Slims as high quality fast food. They still have classic fast food items like chicken tenders and sandwiches, but the food isn't greasy and tastes much better. I always get the Chick's Plate which is the perfect amount of me at lunch time. It comes with three tenders, fries, and toast! They have a lot of dipping sauces to choose from, I like cayenne ranch the best. The chicken breading is on the thinner side but is still crispy. The fries are delicious and the toast is quite buttery. The Togo boxes are sturdy and make it easy to eat on the go. The drive-thru line is large and efficient, there are two lines and even a QR code to scan for a digital menu before you get up to the bigger menu. I came at peak lunch hours and still had fast service in the drive-thru. think this is a great addition to South Reno and I'll definitely be back! read more

New place in town so I decided to see what it's all about as I've never been to any Slim Chickens before. I'll preface this by saying that they just launched so I'll give them a little bit of grace. The staff was still being trained in some areas, particularly the drive-thru, however the woman that helped took our order at the counter was not overly excited...meaning, was kind of hunched to the side with mild enthusiasm. If I were brand new in town, I'd aim to impress and knock the socks off of people, even if it was yet another chicken fast food stop. I had a chicken sandwich, and my wife had some tenders. It took a bit to get the order, but again, I understand things are new and they are getting their feet under them still. The sandwich was good, and the bun was on the sweeter side, which I liked. The tenders were pretty much just tenders but had a variety of sauces to choose from. The location is quite convenient, and the inside was fairly typical, and clean, as it should be being so new. We drove through Slim Chickens a few day after their grand opening. It wasn't busy about 4 cars. They had two attendants taking orders. As we drove around to the pickup window, we noticed another attendant bringing orders to the other customers as they did ours before we even made it to the window. We live close and made it home while the food was still hot. I have to say we were both disappointed with the quality of the food. Most pieces of the chicken were dry and frankly lacked flavor, the same was true of the fries and the toast. All seemed to have been sitting under heat lamps. I expect that the restaurant had tried to be proactive in preparing the food so as to keep things moving. I appreciate that they want to take care of their customers but the texture and lack of flavor was a turnoff. This is too bad, the restaurant is in our Damonte Ranch neighborhood but odds are good that we won't be back. read more
