Solid edition, the chain lineup in South Reno. Normally this wouldn't be my choice, but I've got young kids and they are all about the chicken tenders. Luckily, the ones here at Slim Chickens are fresh and well seasoned, and it come with a range of delicious Housemade sauces that made for a great experience each time. Unintentionally the spot has become our go to value meal when the kids are pleading for us to take them out for lunch for dinner. The Sunday special where a kid meal is $1.99 with the purchase of an adult meal has become a once a month treat. Having the app also has exposed to other unique offerings and their newest menu addition too. They've been doing a lot of solid digital marketing in the general vicinity as well and I often find great value offerings through that channel as well. Most recently that was discovering the 20 piece boneless Hall, which for $10 was enough to feed both of my kids or me a little snack and one of the kids as well. Four stars is because sometimes the offerings shown online are a little tricky to find either in the app or at the kiosk in store. I've had to start orders on the kiosk, then abandoned them and then head to the cash register where the friendly staff is more than willing to jump in and help me locate exactly what I'm talking about. They've never seemed to not know about a promotion which I do really appreciate. The chicken tenders are usually well cooked and crispy and juicy, but I do find them a bit on the salty side personally, some of the sauce is also fall a little bit flat. I tried the cayenne ranch last visit and thought it barely had a kick or any flavor beyond being just a loser style ranch dressing. The fries are really weird. I think they need some work unless I say something specifically I feel like I always get the end of the bachelorette prize they're warm, not hot but they're limp and often quite greasy if I ask them well done or Crispy I feel like they get overcooked so I just don't know at this point how to best enjoy the french fries here. All that service is always 100% and the staff is always able to put a smile on your face. My kids ripped through the sauces and the staff never hesitate to hook them up with extra one or two and they always treat them with the same respect, they would treat us at the counter, which I greatly appreciate. Slim chickens overall was edible but if you're expecting meals similar to Raising Canes- you'll be very disappointed. Slim Chickens might be called "slim" because their portions leave a lot to be desired. Overall portions are too small and items are very overpriced! I ordered the wrap and it cost over $10 for the wrap alone. It came out and the wrap was max 6 inches long and very small, hardly any chicken and used too much ranch (probably to cover the dryness). It was gone in a few bites. For reference, the sauce cups are the small sauce cups that hold maybe a tablespoon of sauce. The wrap was barely the size of a snack wrap. Do with that what you will. I've been wanting to try Slim Chickens since they opened. I didn't feel like cooking and it seemed like the right time to try something new. Love the location and proximity to my home. We went through the drive through. It was a very easy process to do. The service was fast and friendly! We ordered the Chicken Sandwich platters which came with a small side or fries. We didn't order the drinks since we had some at home. The chicken sandwich was extremely salty, and the quality of the chicken definitely wasn't there. Yummy! My boy and I needed a quick lunch and he asked if we could go here, so as to not disappoint, slim chickens it was. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the food arrived and how fresh it tasted. I had the grilled tenders which were fantastic and my boy had the regular tenders. The kids meal is $1.99 on Sundays with the purchase of an adult meal - that was awesome! So for about $15 weeks each got a meal and a drink. Decided to try out the new guy in the South part of town-Slim Chickens. Decided to do a quick drive thru for lunch. Love that they have a sign with a QR code so I could pruse the menu before getting up to the order window. Decided on a chicken club meal and a cayenne ranch Sando meal. Lunch at the new South Reno Slim Chickens was a very nice experience. Parking is easy, and there is a drive-thru if you're in a hurry. We chose to eat inside and were greeted by the friendly staff members. Ordering is easy, and they have lots of choices. We decided to split a Hungry Meal with an extra side (because we couldn't agree on one). The meal included seven tenders, our choice of sauces, Texas toast, and a drink. We choose fried okra and fried mushrooms. The service was quick, and the food was hot, and not at all greasy. We had to wait a few minutes to let it cool, which gave us a chance to enjoy our perfectly tart lemonade. The staff came around and checked on everyone to make sure they had everything they needed. I have been to this location several times it has been consistent with its a low quality product and it's disappointment. The food here whether it's in person or drive-through seems to be overcooked and cold . The service here seems to be nonexistent. The staff here is just going through the motions. Our family get-together led us to try the newly opened Slim Chickens in South Reno. With seven of us, including children, it was a pretty big order! We got a mix of classic meals, a wing meal, a chicken and waffles dish, a crispy chicken sandwich, a cayenne ranch sandwich, and a kids' mac and cheese. Unfortunately, our order was missing a couple of things: the chicken for the chicken and waffles, and the kids' mac and cheese. When we informed them about the missing items, they brought them out right away. Since they're a new location, I can understand that a large order might have been overwhelming. Just tried the new spicy tenders! They are terrible! I love spicy and these were nasty tasting, HOT but not in a good way! Even with garlic sauce I couldn't stand them. Given that they weren't cheap, I used a napkin to rub the spice powder off and that still didn't work so I washed it w and managed to eat them. You can bet I will never get them again. Stopped here for lunch while working today and it's pretty good! First, the drive-thru was super speedy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the 4 pc fried tender meal that comes. It comes with tenders, fries, 1 piece of garlic toast, and drink. For around $13, I feel like it's well-priced for what you get. The tenders were hot and juicy with not too much breading, which is a good thing. They're a little on the smaller end though. Fries were hand cut, hot, and salty but many were not crispy enough. Toast is good but I feel like a thicker "Texas" toast would be better, this one was like a normal slice of bread. Service team kept busy making meals, cleaning dining room, delivering meals and checking on customers. Chicken sandwich came with a ranch sauce which is delicious. The Tender Mac Bowl is delicious. The addition of the chicken gave the Mac-n-cheese just the flavor boost it needed. Chicken and Waffle is good, but the waffle lacked that crunch that I was looking for. The staff were all young adults--super friendly, helpful, and clearly cared about making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I don't drink fountain drinks so I got a water, looks like I was charged for water because he gave me a bottle of water. Then I noticed that I was charged for the extra sauce that he said he could throw in. I didn't know they charged for extra sauces. I love that it's made to order, and it's pretty good in general food. The variety of things on the menu makes it exciting. my biggest complaint is the price and the size of the chicken tenders. They're pretty small, but on the other hand, they may be using heirloom or organic chicken. If they are, it really needs to be more advertised because that would make the price make sense. I'm from Northwest Arkansas originally which is where Slims originated! I was excited when Slims came to Sparks, but now I'm even more excited that we have one here in Reno! I would describe Slims as high quality fast food. They still have classic fast food items like chicken tenders and sandwiches, but the food isn't greasy and tastes much better. I always get the Chick's Plate which is the perfect amount of me at lunch time. It comes with three tenders, fries, and toast! They have a lot of dipping sauces to choose from, I like cayenne ranch the best. The chicken breading is on the thinner side but is still crispy. The fries are delicious and the toast is quite buttery. The Togo boxes are sturdy and make it easy to eat on the go. The drive-thru line is large and efficient, there are two lines and even a QR code to scan for a digital menu before you get up to the bigger menu. I came at peak lunch hours and still had fast service in the drive-thru. think this is a great addition to South Reno and I'll definitely be back! read more

New place in town so I decided to see what it's all about as I've never been to any Slim Chickens before. I'll preface this by saying that they just launched so I'll give them a little bit of grace. The staff was still being trained in some areas, particularly the drive-thru, however the woman that helped took our order at the counter was not overly excited...meaning, was kind of hunched to the side with mild enthusiasm. If I were brand new in town, I'd aim to impress and knock the socks off of people, even if it was yet another chicken fast food stop. I had a chicken sandwich, and my wife had some tenders. It took a bit to get the order, but again, I understand things are new and they are getting their feet under them still. The sandwich was good, and the bun was on the sweeter side, which I liked. The tenders were pretty much just tenders but had a variety of sauces to choose from. The location is quite convenient, and the inside was fairly typical, and clean, as it should be being so new.
