7/15/26 So I have been multiple times and have some beers with the guys. This night me and the homie came to have some wings and some pizza and beer. We got the bbq chicken pizza was delicious. And OMG had the Apricot Chili Wings and they were so good. I didn't get a pic unfortunately. But they were the perfect amount of sauce and crunchy. Almost like an Orange Chicken type of vibe. We love going here. They have yograded their parking amd theblocation holds a good amount of people. If you want to xatch up with a large group you can. They also have family packs in Tuesday. Casual pizza and brewery spot in South Reno. There is a huge variety of foods ranging from salads to chicken wings to wraps (and more!) on their menu so there is something for everyone. We ordered a variety of pizzas, chicken wings, and tater tots (my fave!). My absolute favorite though was being able to dip their pizza crust in honey - we couldn't get enough of this! Overall, all the foods were delicious. And I would come back here again! I will say it can be a little stressful trying to find a spot to sit when its busy during dinner time - seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Quality/Quantity - Just like Ijji Noodle House, this is my go-to local brewery. If you are following, you might remember I used to come here every week (if not almost daily....). Just take a look at all my pictures, probably only 10% of the pictures that I should be taking, lol. Being a local, it is easy to get distracted with all my friends, guests, and family and easy to forget to "Yelp," especially after the first beer or two. My "go-to" beer is still Mars or Bust. And I usually end with one (or more) of their IPA's; DIPA, TIPA, etc... And once in a while we still get food, lol. I am starting to bring all our guests and out of state visitors here to end our nights. Ambiance - Still a beautiful place to see and visit. Open 7 days a week from 9am or 11am to 9pm or 10pm. The kid and I stopped here today to try a different pizza place. We walked up to the counter and ordered a large cheese pizza with 2 sodas. We got our pizza within a few minutes. My kid loved it. The pizza had a thin, chewy crust. Good flavor. I think they used pasta sauce as their pizza sauce which I liked a lot. My kid even commented, "This is good pizza" and gave me a thumbs up. The place had a little play area where kids can play with wooden blocks. My kid played there for a few minutes. The service seemed like it was a "serve yourself " type of place. The only thing they did was bring out our pizza. I needed a "to go" box and saw some boxes sitting in the back so I just got up and grabbed one. No one comes around and checks on you to see if you need anything else. I didn't see any cheese or hot peppers around for the pizza either. Talk about a happy accident!! I visited Schussboom Brewing Co. with my daughter today, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it's clear they've thought of everything to make it family‑friendly. Beer: We tried the Spa Lager -- an American lager infused with cucumber and lemon -- and it was absolutely delicious. Light, crisp, and super refreshing. They have a full line up and also offer flights. Definitely have to check out others next time I visit. Food: For lunch, we shared the "Go To Pizza" and their Tatanka wings -- both were flavorful and came out hot and fresh, a real step up from typical brewery bites. Lots going on at this little hot spot! We stayed as overnight guests in our RV through our Harvest History membership. We were able to unhook our trailer and make a quick drive over to Lake Tahoe, which was amazing. We returned to Schussboom around 5pm for a few cold beers and some food. The staff was amazing from the bartenders, to the servers, to the person helping us park the trailer, to one of the owners that we spoke to. All very friendly and helpful. The venue is cool, there are a variety of hangout spots, inside and out, depending on your needs. Tons of events and activities happening throughout the week with a full bar and menu. I met a few friends to catch up on a Thursday night. We hadn't seen each other for awhile so this was a great spot for us to meet up for a drink and have some food. The bar was fairly full, but not so busy that it was loud or overcrowded. The main seating area had plenty of spots left even with a number of groups enjoying their evening. We grabbed the end a of table for our group of four. I had a cider and the Mexican loaded tots. The cider was crisp and refreshing, not too tart and not too sweet. It hit that perfect spot right inbetween. The tots were warm and crispy, loaded with chorizo, pickled onions, sour cream, cilantro, jalapeños, and Cotija. The menu is fairly large and has a good selection of dishes that should accommodate just about anyone. The drink menu is even larger! Lots of in-house made brews and a couple ciders are listed on the menu screens. The bar can make just about anything else you may desire. When my friend and I got there, we ordered drinks and an appetizer, chatted for some time, then got back up and ordered dinner & more drinks. This Brewery graciously has the Harvest Host Parking. Inside and out the whole property is very, very nice. We had the Banana Hammock beer which was excellent. We had the Sticky Yaki Wings which rocked. And then we come to the Barbie Q pizza, what a disappointment!!!!!! We found this fun place for dinner called Schussboom Brewing Company, and ended up ordering way too much food. We started with the the PowPow Pretzel from Truckee Sourdough Company served with beer cheese. It was soft and delicious. We also ordered the Beer Cheese Jalapeño Tots, beer cheese, smoked bacon, pickled jalapeños, scallions over interesting Tetris shaped tator tots. They were a bit dry and did not have enough cheese. Then we ordered a large Yuppie Pizza which has Pesto, marinated chicken breast, sweet cherry peppadews, artichoke, heirloom cherry tomato, and feta. My partner also ordered two flights of their beers and enjoyed them. This place is annoying as you have to stand in line to order and then they bring the food out to you. The hilarious part of this story is that we were meeting a friend, who flew in from Dallas, and he had been to Schussboom Brewing on a previous trip to Reno. You order drinks and food at the cash register, then find a table and wait for your food and drinks to get called. Drinks you pick up near the cashier / bar area and food you pick up in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. Both the food and the drinks were amazingly delicious. My Greek Salad was one of the best ever. And the beers, yum! Pizzas are a popular choice here, and the restaurant was packed with people and families. My best friend and I came here for their monthly "Off the App and Into the Tap" last Tuesday. This was our first singles event we have both ever been to. It was nice having a friend for something like this. It was quite busy! Lots of people, more women than men to be honest. You come in and you show your purchase of tickets or purchase tickets at the door. You are told to put on a name tag and are given a free drink ticket for a complimentary "confidence shot." A friend and I came here for lunch. My rating is somewhere between OK and good. I had heard and read the positive comments from my fellow Yelpers and honestly, came away a bit underwhelmed. The food was good, but not spectacular. We sat in the bar area and except for the very large group event, it was comfortable. You order at the bar and pay upfront. Our food was brought to our table. I had to hunt for flatware. Napkins were available at the table. After perusing the HUGE menu, we decided on sharing the pulled pork sliders and the Caprese Sandwich. The sliders were ok. Nothing swoon worthy. I liked the two different sauces. The honey mustard was great. The house made focaccia bread made the sandwich a step above. I would come back just for the bread. We have been visiting Schussboom for years, it is one of our favorites(especially after a big ski day at Mt.Rose) in Reno. Staff is consistently wonderful, food is unique and yummy, beer is great, the kid zone is a special bonus, and we love all of the community events we have been able to attend. We hosted a party in their upstairs outdoor patio area, it was such a special spot to celebrate with spectacular views. This is our 2nd visit to Schussboom and again it didn't disappoint, our previous visit was during one of their special events so it was very busy, tonight was much better. The Service is exceptional, the staff is very attentive and helpful, they have a large menu and larger beverage selection. The restaurant is a large open setting, long bench style tables, like you experience at a ski resort, there is a area "kids zone" with toys, wood blocks and large with kids programs playing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor had several heaters to keep everyone comfortable. This evening we enjoy the Apricot Chili, Hot Wings and Pepp Rally. We actually finished our order when the wife saw the Loaded Mexican Tots and commented how I love tots but didn't order them, oh I did then, they are crazy good. Came in on a saturday evening and it wasnt too crowded. You order from the bar/counter and they give you a buzzer or wait until your name is called. Food did take a bit to come out for being sandwiches. We had a minor hiccup where mine had to be remade due to having an ingredient that I had asked to leave off. But they were apologetic and got my remade sandwich out quickly. The food was very tasty. We didn't have any beers but i will say the biggest portion of there selection is IPAs. A year has passed and probably more than a dozen visits to Schussboom have along with it. South Reno is so fortunate to have this restaurant. With the number of families in this area it is so wonderful to have a space that is safe and comfortable for kids of all ages. We love coming here with friends on Fridays to end the week and catch up. The kids love the food and the ability to run around the dining room and also enjoy the kid zone in the back. The adults enjoy the flexible open seating, large selection of their beer and guest taps and their full bar and cocktail program plus their menu which includes house made pizzas from mild to Wild, big juicy chicken wings, and a whole host of flavors, fresh and healthy salads, and big shareable portions, and most recently the addition of some beautiful desserts. But I also love that this is a restaurant that you can enjoy any day of the week and any part of the day with great options for lunch, brunch and of course dinner. The staff is always super friendly and helpful in guiding you towards the right items on the menu. The kitchen is tiny but mighty and does a great job of keeping up with the insane levels of demand that hit the restaurant at peak times. And overall, this is always a good experience for our family. Sure, there are some drawbacks to the open seating like having to wait and find a table , and the counter ordering isn't always the most efficient, especially with kids, so you do have to be prepared when you get up there, but these things are minor and I really enjoy this place a lot. My favorite things to order I've got to be the sandwiches at lunchtime and the wings when I come in for dinner. Pro tip is to order them naked, because they come breaded by default. While I do like the out of crunch sometimes of the breaded wing, I generally prefer the naked wing with a little extra sauce on the side. Their dry rubs are fantastic, but so are all of their sauces, and they fry their wings of crispy so that they don't get soggy when they get sauced! read more
