Talk about a happy accident!! I visited Schussboom Brewing Co. with my daughter today, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it's clear they've thought of everything to make it family‑friendly. Beer: We tried the Spa Lager -- an American lager infused with cucumber and lemon -- and it was absolutely delicious. Light, crisp, and super refreshing. They have a full line up and also offer flights. Definitely have to check out others next time I visit. Food: For lunch, we shared the "Go To Pizza" and their Tatanka wings -- both were flavorful and came out hot and fresh, a real step up from typical brewery bites. Extra Perks: One of the coolest things is their outdoor garden area, which seems perfect for larger gatherings. They also have a rooftop space and a dedicated kids' area with kid‑friendly shows -- a huge plus for families. Events: They offer daily events, and we saw they have a fun lineup coming up -- including a singles night, a Mother's Day brunch, and they even serve breakfast. Lots of reasons to come back.

Came here for Father's Day Brunch. Sorry I didn't get ant pics of the brunch food. I didn't think it was the best. It was decent for sure. The price seemed fair. Their food on and other day off there regular menu is really good. The service was good, nice and friendly. Cool spot with nice outdoor seating, they even have an upstairs. Very roomy and good place to meet up with friends and hangout.

Love this place. They've continually grown and adapted to add more to their business, food and beers are absolutely great but hard to choose from the beer because of so many great options. The outdoor seating upstairs and main level are great options as well as the indoor space. Ambiance is great and the staff takes the time to explain the food and beers when deciding. Definitely give them a try.

Not only is the service consistently kind, attentive, and just plain awesome, but their menu is extensive - offering a little something for, literally, anyone. Definitely not just a brewery... Absolutely love this place!

I met a few friends to catch up on a Thursday night. We hadn't seen each other for awhile so this was a great spot for us to meet up for a drink and have some food. The bar was fairly full, but not so busy that it was loud or overcrowded. The main seating area had plenty of spots left even with a number of groups enjoying their evening. We grabbed the end a of table for our group of four. I had a cider and the Mexican loaded tots. The cider was crisp and refreshing, not too tart and not too sweet. It hit that perfect spot right inbetween. The tots were warm and crispy, loaded with chorizo, pickled onions, sour cream, cilantro, jalapeños, and Cotija. The menu is fairly large and has a good selection of dishes that should accommodate just about anyone. The drink menu is even larger! Lots of in-house made brews and a couple ciders are listed on the menu screens. The bar can make just about anything else you may desire. If you want a great place to chill with some drinks and great food on the south side of town, check it out.

I tried brunch for the first time. We love coming here for pizza so we've always wanted to try their brunch. It was amazing!!! Everything was house made and you could tell - so fresh and delicious! We will be back for brunch

I'm obsessed with their wings (they're huge), their pizza is great, and they've got the best rotating DIPAs in town. They're innovative but true to the way beer should be - crisp, refreshing, and easy to down. It's always clean and I appreciate the local Ski Town vibe. Great for groups, a sports game date at the bar, a retirement or birthday party, and more. Also, staff is on top of it and personable. Fun place overall.

Another 5 star visit to Schussboom, it's just the absolute best. Extremely friendly staff, kick ass pizza, killer beers, and amazing sides to much on. Don't even get me started on the ambiance here, Schussboom is a total vibe, very Reno, perfect for those cold winter nights. I can't recommend the Mozzarella cheese wedges enough, they don't have them all the time but when they do, holy crap... GET THEM. I still have also yet to have a singe pizza here that I don't absolutely love. See ya soon Shhh-boom.

This a great place for groups and families to get together. Everyone can order their own food & drinks without the confusion of breaking down the check. Pizza looked incredible and the fries nice and hot.

My best friend and I came here for their monthly "Off the App and Into the Tap" last Tuesday. This was our first singles event we have both ever been to. It was nice having a friend for something like this. It was quite busy! Lots of people, more women than men to be honest. You come in and you show your purchase of tickets or purchase tickets at the door. You are told to put on a name tag and are given a free drink ticket for a complimentary "confidence shot." They had pizza and salad in the back. You were welcome to buy additional drinks at the bar or counter. They had some small little ice breaker activities (cootie catchers) and also beer pong, flip cup, and corn hole. Not sure if I would do this event again but it seems extremely well organized and lots of people show up if you're looking for new connections

This is such a chill and relaxed environment. I like that we could keep our tab open not only for drinks, but also for food. When my friend and I got there, we ordered drinks and an appetizer, chatted for some time, then got back up and ordered dinner & more drinks. It was nice not having a server and picking up the food from the counter because we did not feel rushed to leave and we weren't interrupted by anyone. The food was very, very good. My friend had the focaccia grilled cheese and said it was delightful. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was the perfect amount of spice and the Gorgonzola & blue cheese dressing paired nicely with the hotness of the buffalo. I'm looking forward to coming here again to try more of their drinks on tap and their food. Thank you for the nice time!

One of my favorite spots in Reno. Great beer. Great pizzas. Great wings. They have a large menu so you can usually find something for everyone. The vibe is bright and colorful and fun. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They also have events in the back patio area that are worth going to. Love this place.

Mediocre pizza, sorry we ate some.

They specialize in lagers, but over the years their menu has expanded to include all sorts of other styles. Suffice to say, you're going to find something you love here. Some of my perpetual favorites are their Pilsner, which is a very good easy-drinking beer. Add to that selections like their delicious Black Lager, their very outstanding Silver Sage Pale Ale, and their delicious Jalapeno/Habanero beer. And don't skip out on any of their seasonal brews, either, as the crew here are always cooking up something new and exciting to try. Plus, they have a fair portion of their menu available in cans to-go, and can do growlers and growlers to order. I also just love the vibe and energy at this place. It's very chill, cozy, and friendly in the extreme. Between the fantastic staff and the cadre of regulars, it has that real "local pub" sort of feel to it. You can hang out, play a few bar games, watch whatever sport is on the TV, or go sit outside in their wonderful beer garden if the weather is nice. All this ism plus they have events on a semi-regular basis like bar trivia, food-and-beer pairings, Grateful Dead night, or food truck pop-ups. So keep your eyes on their online calendars. Prices for everything are pretty much on par with other breweries and craft bars in town, starting around $8 per pint. There is no real food available here betond a selection of chips, nuts, and admittedly excellent beef jerky. But there are some food options fairly close by to either walk to or get delivered. Parking is usually pretty easy, too, either in their small lot or in street spaces. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Pigeon Head is my favorite brewery in our region. I've been a fan of them for years, and I hope more folks can discover them as well. In the last year or so, I really feel the energy of the Brewery District has shifted east to land along the Wells Ave corridor, with these guys being one of my favorite frequent haunts. Anyone looking for good beers and good vibes should come check them all out. Cheers, all!

Cut and pasted from their website: "Slieve means "A…read moreMountain" in Irish Gaelic, their family roots." Quality/Quantity - Been an extremely long stressful day! So I NEEDED a break from the day to just relax and stop thinking! I gave my wife a few options, a few breweries to choose from (or for me to just go alone, which she would not have let me drink and drive, especially all the way from North Reno). So she/we chose to go to Slieve as I have not been there yet. Actually, all 3 choices were breweries. The good news is that there are more and more new breweries opening. The bad news is that there are more and more good breweries closing, in ALL my hometowns... My first time in a nano brewery; cool. Today I got (and tried the following), all Slieve brands; support local: Oh, I did not know you had a happy hour M-F from 2-5pm; I just missed it by 13 minutes... Should not have spent so much time outside taking pictures for Yelp, lol. Pale Ale - Good, but I prefer more flavor. This is currently my second "go to" beer after reds. Jimbo Porter - Better, but then I tried the Cookie Monster! I also did not taste the coconut. Cookie Monster - My favorite of the beers, so much flavor. And I am NOT usually a sweet beer drinker. It was not an overwhelming stout, probably due to the sweetness, but you can definitely taste the chocolate and slightly coffee and caramel flavors. I would get this again, but it would always have to be my last beer due to the flavors. Beers that I need to come back for when available are: Your reds, IPAs and of course your "Trinity Tripel." Ambiance - On your "about" page on your website, it says you are still looking for a home for your brewery...? Is that accurate or does that page need to be updated? Cool space, indoor and outdoor seating. Bar and table seating. 2 bars, one the back, probably only used for events. Semi private room when you walk in. Ping pong, darts, games, cornhole, cool decor on walls throughout to read, etc. Open 7 days a week, see their website. Yelp's hours/days differ slightly. Event spaces are available; see their website.. Service - Good. We were also greeted by Shannon when she and Phillip came in later for a drink or two... Phillip was too busy drinking to say hi, lol. Price - $8 a beer. The typical cost for good craft beer. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2022 with your nanobrewery; I wish you the best and am glad you own the building to help you weather some "storms."

It was still pretty crowded which was nice to see, so we grabbed a spot at the bar. The bartender was friendly and quick to serve us. We ordered some draft beers, they had a good selection available. We then ordered the Crab and Artichoke skillet as an appetizer, and the Stuffed Avocado salad and Fish and Chips as our entrees. The skillet came out first but shortly after we received our entrees. That was actually a good thing because they were a good compliment to eat all together. It was more than enough food for 2 people and everything was delicious. The stuffed Avocado salad was interesting and it was delicious. The fish and chips were good, the fish was more of a tender which was actually nice because it wasn't greasy. Not sure I would order it again because there are so many other good options on the menu, but it was good. The artichoke and Crab skillet was excellent as well. We both left satisfied and impressed by the overall quality and service, already planning to go back again when the patio opens because they will let you have dogs which is always a big bonus!
