My husband and I were on our way to another brewery in Reno when we happened to drive by Pigeon Head Brewery. The patio was full of people enjoying themselves, music was playing, and everyone looked like they were having a great time on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We quickly found a parking spot and decided to check it out. We ordered at the counter, and the bartender was incredibly friendly. He offered me a couple of tastings, which helped me find the perfect craft beer for the afternoon. With drinks in hand, we grabbed a table outside and spent some time soaking up the sunshine, listening to the music, and enjoying the lively atmosphere. Sometimes the best discoveries are the unplanned ones! I'm so glad we stumbled upon Pigeon Head Brewery. The welcoming staff, great beer, and fun vibe made for a wonderful experience. Celebrated the early part of the day on the 4th of July listening to a Grateful Dead tribute duo here at Pigeon Head. There is a nice outdoor patio area. Shaded and traveled. Had a wheat ale that was light. Service was friendly. Nice area to chill and relax. read more

I was just visiting Reno for work, and decided to check out some of the local breweries. I wasn't overly impressed by either the venue, the atmosphere or the choice/quality of the craft beer. I guess to each their own, not a brewery I would return to, but they clearly had a loyal base who were on great terms with the bar tender and the other regulars. The bartender was nice to offer some local attractions when I asked him. read more

Another beer, another stamp, another happy customer! This was my first time in Pigeon Head Brewery although I've been in Reno my whole life, it did not disappoint! I had their Kolsch and my husband had the Black Lager and both were very tasty! We sat inside and really enjoyed the artwork and quiet. Cool craft brewery that prides itself on lagers. If you know, you know...IPAs and Ales are quick and easy to turn over in less than a month. Lagers take a lot of time and require "Lagering" and you really have to know what you're doing as a brewer to be good at this. So, that's why you see so many breweries with 12 different IPAs or Pale Ales.....easy and quick and can reuse the yeast. This place is legit. They had a blood orange pale, a jalapeño/habanero IPA, a Karen, two different kolschs, and 5 different lagers in addition to a Pilsner. They have happy hour min-Fri from 2-5 and specials everyday except Fri and sat. Thursdays are the best...$10 growler fills. I will be back!!! read more

Pigeon Head Brewery is a true gem. Been telling people for years that anyone looking for good beer should have this place near the top of their list. They specialize in lagers, but over the years their menu has expanded to include all sorts of other styles. Suffice to say, you're going to find something you love here. Some of my perpetual favorites are their Pilsner, which is a very good easy-drinking beer. Add to that selections like their delicious Black Lager, their very outstanding Silver Sage Pale Ale, and their delicious Jalapeno/Habanero beer. And don't skip out on any of their seasonal brews, either, as the crew here are always cooking up something new and exciting to try. Plus, they have a fair portion of their menu available in cans to-go, and can do growlers and growlers to order. I also just love the vibe and energy at this place. It's very chill, cozy, and friendly in the extreme. Between the fantastic staff and the cadre of regulars, it has that real "local pub" sort of feel to it. You can hang out, play a few bar games, watch whatever sport is on the TV, or go sit outside in their wonderful beer garden if the weather is nice. All this ism plus they have events on a semi-regular basis like bar trivia, food-and-beer pairings, Grateful Dead night, or food truck pop-ups. So keep your eyes on their online calendars. Prices for everything are pretty much on par with other breweries and craft bars in town, starting around $8 per pint. There is no real food available here betond a selection of chips, nuts, and admittedly excellent beef jerky. But there are some food options fairly close by to either walk to or get delivered. Parking is usually pretty easy, too, either in their small lot or in street spaces. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Pigeon Head is my favorite brewery in our region. I've been a fan of them for years, and I hope more folks can discover them as well. In the last year or so, I really feel the energy of the Brewery District has shifted east to land along the Wells Ave corridor, with these guys being one of my favorite frequent haunts. Nice selection of beer styles in this local brewery. I had the black lager which was very good. The interior is a bit dark , but the patio and beer garden on a nice day is much brighter, though a bit loud under the overpass. It's an awkward location but solid local beers read more

This was the first brewery EVER that doesn't allow kids in the taproom, told us we had to sit outside in the cold if we were going to have a drink. First of all they are not very welcoming. Beer was not all great, what a bad experience for our first brewery here in Reno! Oh well, let's go try other breweries! cheers read more

A lot has changed since they first opened. Thankfully even more beer varieties, A+. Friendly beerman. Awesome gravel floor Bier Garten outside. The beer prices are actually so reasonable for their serving size. Drive in straight parking and street parking available. Lots of art on the interior walls to look at. More of a venue to drink and talk. There is also another brewery nearby to make it a proper beer crawl but with this Pigeon's beer selection, it makes it hard to leave. read more

I'm not really sure if I could have asked for a better brewery. #4 Parking was amazing #3 Service the best (thanks Matt) #2 Ambiance spot on and most importantly #1 The beer was amazing, inventive, thought out, cared for...etc. I could go on and on. The Pigeon Head Pilsner is my favorite beer--hands down. If I see that a restaurant or bar has it on tap, then I will choose it nearly every time. With that being said I rarely make it out to the taproom, but when I do I am reminded that Pigeon Head makes several other types of beers, including award winning ones! The taproom is simple and cozy. The patio is almost always shady with the help of the Wells Avenue bridge. I have recently started following Pigeon Head on social media which gives me information about new beer releases and upcoming events. Events range from special releases to pop-up food events with local and traveling chefs to hosting local birding groups. Considering the wide array of events Pigeon Head hosts, I really do not know why I don't pop by the taproom more often. An afternoon at Pigeon Head's taproom with a flight of unique and award winning beers is a wonderful way to pass some time. But if you can't make it to the taproom, then I would recommend keeping an eye out for local distributors of their beer. If you see the Pilsner on tap somewhere, definitely give it a shot! read more

Great local brewery with phenomenal flagship beers and even better experimentals. Must try is the Pilsner as this is a great lagerhaus. If they have the Turkish on make sure you partake Follow their social for events. Always something fun going on - trivia, Grateful Dead or unique pairings. It is always a good time with a bunch of regulars to say hi to. Must stop when visiting Reno's Breweries!! read more

I love Pigeon Heads beer. They are small brewery tucked in the Brewery district of 4th Street. The interior is cozy but plenty of seating. I often get their flights which are only $10 for four pours. On my latest visit we grabbed some beers and one flight to try some of the newer things. I was shocked at how good the Imperial Hefe was at over 12% ABV! My only complaint would be that there is an older bartender that comes across as somewhat cranky which impacts service a bit. The other bartenders have all been great! read more

Hate to give such a low star to this place..... The bartender was super nice and she did a Fantastic job. The issue was when these random people wanted to set up food on a table we were using. They were extremely rude and the bartender didn't even come to explain what was happening. I hope that they don't have those people come back because they are ruining this awesome spot. read more

Another offering during Tour de Brews that hit the mark. Great space for a group or team outing. Maybe a Wednesday night when it's Trivia Night. Good idea! The beer tender knew all about the fresh on tap beers. I love the heavy sweet ones. Aged in brandy or whiskey barrels even better. Like the Barrel Aged Red Rye. We didn't have anything to eat this trip but have promised to come back. See you there. read more

What a great day today! 2 for 2, 5 star Yelps! Quality/Quantity - Got a flight today - Silver Sage Pale Ale, Jalapeno/Habanero IPA (my favorite, got a 4 pk), Oktoberfest Lager, and of course, my Red Rye Lager. All was good, but the Jalapeno/Habanero IPA was amazing! Decent selection overall. Atmosphere - Small brewery. But large sales. :) Well, I can buy them from Costco at times. Oh, not easy to find, well at least not easy for my GPS, they are under the overpass. Indoor, outdoor seating. Free wifi, if you can figure it out... Cool decor and art. Open 7 days a week, see my picture, Yelp, or their website. Small parking lot in front, but I came early (no HH here) so typically plenty of parking. Service - Service was okay, not good or bad. Loyalty program, see pictures. Promotions, today was 25% off cans which I took advantage of! Thursdays are the best deals in my opinion. $10 growlers! Price - $10 a flight which I think is cheap + tip. 25% off a 4 pk, which came out to a little over $10; again a good deal! Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 2014. The brewery is tucked back a little bit in the brewery district, but the recently renovated outdoor/Biergarten area has really elevated the space! The outdoor area is both kid and dog-friendly, and all around it's a nice, chill vibe. The owner seems awesome, he collaborates with local, small non-profits for beer releases and events. Sometimes there are food trucks, I'm unsure if there is a regular schedule for this. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit to this terrific brewery in Reno. I immediately liked the quirky decor, that really leans into the Pigeon Head name. The beertender was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt with greeting us and suggesting samples if we were unsure of what to try. I selected a delicious blonde ale called Honey Nut Beerios. It was an excellent choice. They have plenty of seating options at the bar, at tables in the brewery, or the spacious beer garden. They have board games, dart boards, and corn hole as well. It's a great place to enjoy a great beer! I'd definitely come back on another trip to Reno. read more

We love Pigeon Head! The beers are really good and the new beer garden is such a nice addition. The summer pineapple basil is definitely my favorite seasonal (besides the peach cobbler they did years and years ago that I dream about lol). We've been loving the flight nights they've been doing too! Outside of just loving the place to go when we need a beer we also rented the tap room for a party and all of our friends were in love. It was a great experience and we will probably do it again. read more

Pigeon Head is still a fantastic brewery. I had to get my fav, the Silver Sage Pale, but we also tried the Pilsner, the Black Lager, and the Kolsch. For me, I think the best breweries can make a solid Pilsner. There's nothing to hide behind in Pils and I like mine clear and crispy. As much as I loved the Silver Sage, I would also gladly drink Pigeon Heads Pilsner on the regular. We also bought several 4 packs and while they didn't last long, they were fresh and delicious and that says a lot about the quality and consistency of this brewery. Pigeon Head really just continues to hit the mark and is definitely one of our go to's when in Reno. We also had great service and a lot of fun hanging out :) I first tried the Silver Sage two years ago and I STILL talk about how unique and delicious it is. This place is special and if you are a lager lover...don't skip it. Can't wait to go back! read more

Stopped in to try a limited edition beer, got to try their Berry Tea Kolsh which was fantastic. Loved the flavors of the berry and tea, it definitely worked well. I just got a cider that wasn't from this brewery so nothing to gloat about but enjoyed the Kolsh very much. Service was decent, didn't chat too much but provided good service. The inside of the brewery is cool, I liked the wooden tables inside. Be aware though it's located in a sketch part of the city so you may run into some unexpected personalities. But check this place out, definitely good drinks! read more

They always seems to have a new brew on deck and ready though sometimes the small batches go fast so you need to visit often to make the most of their talented brew masters. Another Reno brewery. It happens to be near lots of others east of downtown. Pigeon Head has a nice variety of styles. Has something for everyone's tastes, and it's a cool place for hanging out. They have pretty good prices. I have tried this a few times with the girl and the last time was one afternoon. One of the good things about this is you can go here and then go to a few more breweries because there's a lot. This is one of the best ones. Atmosphere is very cool. The styles they have are all some type of lager. Even so they have lots of different flavors. Get something light or heavy. A few include coffee, porter, and rye among the styles and these were all good. They don't have a huge beer menu but you can find something. I like the Turkish Coffee Black Lager. It's about $6 a pint. This is a Schwarzbier infused with local Magpie Pica Pica coffee and spices. It's a very fucking strong beer. There's hints of allspice, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, coconut, and vanilla. Sure has lots of flavors. They may have dumped in a whole spice rack when they created it. Finding it can be hard. It's kind of hidden and you need to look for it. They don't have food usually but sometimes they have snacks and other times there's food trucks. read more

A patron at another local brewery recommended Pigeon Head for a good selection of "lighter stuff." After a few tastes, my wife and I both decided to buck that trend and go with their Wee Heavy and Turkish Coffee Lager. Both were spot on! The bartender was friendly and helpful with our selections. The location was a little concerning as we were on foot and the local homeless population was seemingly staged around every corner, but my risk aversion decreases with beer quality and PH made the trek worthwhile. read more

The atmosphere and service were great. We shared 2 flights=8 tasters. I came in excited to see what else they had to offer as the Pilsner can be found all over town and often is my draft beer of choice. Personally, I was disappointed. Of 8 beers, non were undrinkable, but non resonated with me. From the black lager to the award wining sage pale ale, nothing stood out. And I wanted it to, as Thursdays are $10 growler fills and Sundays 25% off all cans. Overall, cool place to hang and have a beer. read more

Where did Pigeon Head Brewery come from? Founded in 2014? A secret! OMG... you have to look them up, order online and find the place. It's on 5th Street near Wells. Looks like a speakeasy! Call from your car when you park. They bring you your beer and are very cordial. Order Red Rye- a German dark beer that is smooth as anything we've tasted! Really! We also got crowlers of Black Lager, Pilot Porter, and India Pale Lager. Stay tuned for the updates. I can't address the entire beer menu, but what I had I really liked. Admittedly a beer snob, I like IPA's; I should have had a flight but I opted for a pint and two tastes, all good! Their Fly By Night IPA was as good as any I've ever had. If you want something with a kick (besides alcohol) go for the Jalepeno habanero. Last but certainly not least was the IPL (L for Lager) which, if you like hoppy beers, was super smooth and not as bitter as some IPA's. Too bad the casinos don't support the local beer community more, they really need places like this and not the usual fare! We went to a steakhouse in Midtown that had Pigeon Head on tap...Cheers! read more

Fun place to go, sit around and drink a few beers. They have a great selection of their beer on tap so you are sure to find one you will like. Lots of seating outside and inside. The two times I have been there, they had a food truck outside so you can order some food with your beer. It's a laid back place, easy to find location, and I am always able to find a place to park. read more

Established in 2014.

Founded by locals Edward Silveira, IV and James Mann in cooperation with Chief Falcon Bryan Holloway, who brings his brewing mastery to help us become the finest Lager House in the land! Several Fine Ales will also always be on tap for your drinking delight! However, I snuck in just before their closing and was able to enjoy a round of drinks with a birthday group. Today I got (and tried the following), all Slieve brands; support local: Oh, I did not know you had a happy hour M-F from 2-5pm; I just missed it by 13 minutes... Should not have spent so much time outside taking pictures for Yelp, lol. Pale Ale - Good, but I prefer more flavor. This is currently my second "go to" beer after reds. Jimbo Porter - Better, but then I tried the Cookie Monster! I also did not taste the coconut. Cookie Monster - My favorite of the beers, so much flavor. And I am NOT usually a sweet beer drinker. It was not an overwhelming stout, probably due to the sweetness, but you can definitely taste the chocolate and slightly coffee and caramel flavors. I would get this again, but it would always have to be my last beer due to the flavors. Beers that I need to come back for when available are: Your reds, IPAs and of course your "Trinity Tripel." Ambiance - On your "about" page on your website, it says you are still looking for a home for your brewery...? Is that accurate or does that page need to be updated? Cool space, indoor and outdoor seating. Bar and table seating. 2 bars, one the back, probably only used for events. Semi private room when you walk in. Ping pong, darts, games, cornhole, cool decor on walls throughout to read, etc. Open 7 days a week, see their website. Yelp's hours/days differ slightly. We got there a little early to pick our spot at the bar. We were greeted by Shannon the owner. She is a lovely lady and later met her husband Phil. They have owned Slieve's for about three years. They have a spacious building and super clean! The staff are friendly and accommodating. There is no food on the premises to purchase, but you can bring your own food or ordered inn. It was fun to sample Girl Scout cookies and taste beer. We started with 6 tastings but they threw in a couple extra. The event was well organized and the Girl Scouts were there to sell their cookies. I was a Girl Scout 50 years ago. I think a box of cookies was $1.00 - $1.25. I paid $7. Times have certainty changed. The brewery is in an interesting location that I never knew existed before, but now I do and look forward to my return. Thank you for making our day fun and memorable!!!

Service was good. I love a great patio, and this one was large, comfortable, and offered great shade. But do note if you are there to talk with friends, you are at a very very busy intersection. The traffic noise was loud at times. I would still dine on outside given the choice. There's lots of immediate parking around the building and nearby.

Since most brews are seasonal, we asked what was available, tried a beer apiece and found each was aromatic and mouth-watering and nose-tickling. We noticed others playing a board game who pointed out to us where we could get one, so we played while we drank. Dog-friendly. Disabled-friendly. Has non-alcoholic options. The customer service was adequate. No automatic gratuity was demanded for our attendance here. The bill matched their posted prices. (It's an illegal Deceptive Trade Practice when the bill doesn't match posted prices) No one at this business took my picture without my permission or publicly posted it without my permission. No one at this business offered to commit fraud to reward me or pay me or compensate me for posting 5-star reviews of this business. FTC forbids the use of fake testimonials as are illegal under Section 5 of the FTC Act (15 USC 45 as they are using unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce. I ordered a BBQ burger at the counter and added an extra patty as well as some chicken tenders and fries for the kids. Service was quick and friendly. I've never had an issue with Armando's service! Truly- the quality of the food here can't be beat. Freshly ground meat, selection between beef, elk, and bison, and high-quality ingredients all the way down to the produce. Sometimes a thick, juicy burger is just what you want. You won't find a puny smashed patty here. Only delicious, perfectly cooked, thick patties. The extra $6 to make it a double is totally worth it. I was even impressed by the fries! Super crispy and well seasoned. The chicken tenders were not overcooked, as you find at many places. The chicken was still very moist while maintaining a crispy exterior. Great choice for your butchery needs, but also a great place to grab some very tasty lunch!

This restaurant really put in so much effort to make their interior very welcoming and gorgeous! Service 5/5 - our hostess was always checking in with us as soon as we arrived! From start to finish, we were always helped and taken care of! Food 4.5/5 - I ordered the set course menu (+some starters!) and it was so worth it! The seafood was so fresh, the only things I would pick on is 1. The dressing on the roasted carrots wasn't something I enjoyed. 2. The mussels tasted of sand! I loved the fresh bread and butter and would highly recommend the scallops! Overall, I love this little gem of a find and would come again!

We also added the scallops and seasonal pasta, both of which were absolutely delicious. I couldn't leave without trying the baklava soft serve, and it did not disappoint. The only thing I would have changed was the rotisserie chicken skin--I would have loved it to be a little crispier. The service was excellent, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and aesthetic of the restaurant. That said, if we hadn't shared the Family Meal, dining here could get pretty pricey on an individual basis. Overall, it was a great experience.
