This... We ordered one classic cheesesteak. ONE cheesesteak. Ordered it at 2:40 pm. After waiting 35 min, still no cheesesteak. Thinking they may have forgotten our order or it was somehow misplaced, I asked how much longer it would be. Was told there was still a wait, but no specific time was given. We waited another ten minutes and still nothing. Went back up to the counter and asked again. Was met with major attitude and was told they're very busy. I looked around... Including us, there was one guy waiting at the counter and one girl who already had her sandwich. And there were zero Door Dashers the entire time we were there. There were NO other ppl that came in the entire time we were there. Ummmm.... It was crickets the entire time. Then all five employees came to the front as we were asking for our money back and we were met with some kind of weird, out-of-bounds rude behavior, saying things like, "Well if you think you can do better why don't you come back and run the grill?" To which I said, "Sure! No problem. I private chef on the side and can probably teach ya a thing or two. You cannot just fire on one sandwich every ten to fifteen minutes." After no cheesesteak and quite a bit of arguing, we finally got our money back. Lastly, it's worth noting, the place was super dirty. Used napkins on the floor, tables not wiped down. Counters not cleaned. Ketchup packets left on tables. Garbage clearly hadn't been taken out in a long time. So, let's just say, the Health Dept has been notified; the conditions are atrocious. Literally the worst place I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot! It's a shame... all of the other Capriotti's locations I've been to have been clean, ultra quick, and the quality of their products have been awesome. This one? Run. Run away fast and far! Gosh I hate writing this review. I've put it off all year long. My partner chooses the sandwich shop, Capriotti's because he loves it. A lot of people seem to. We've had it three times: twice used with Uber Eats and tonight the partner picked it up on the way home. Twice we ordered two sandwich. Always one fancy sandwich and always a fairly plain sandwich (turkey, mayo, lettuce, pickle). Some of us have reasons to pay for all the toppings but not use and waste them. Every single uber drop off was wrong. And always the easy sandwich. Things you cannot take off. Partner pays and never complains because he is happy. He can tell me, bummer, then eat mine day 2. Tonight, he picked it up. I added just ham to this. I didn't ask for club, not for Bobbie, just plain small sandwich with only turkey, ham, mayo, and this time to maybe be sure they know it's a plain sandwich, the lettuce and pickles on the side. He got to eat his sandwich, for the 3rd time, I got an inedible sandwich. You cannot take off oil, salt, pepper... I'm not complaining lettuce was on the sandwich (since that was just in hopes to get it done in a way I can eat). The pickles were on the side. I'm giving a star for that, thanks. Opened the sandwich. Looking forward to it, and once again, can't eat because of the extra added. Because my partner was there and should have stopped the sandwich makers (assuming you watch them make it), I'm taking off no stars and blaming him. But third time is a charm. Tip: if you can eat everything, go for it. Smells pretty good. But go get it. Make sure it's right, don't leave to anyone, the business, or the delivery to get what you want. PS. We have NEVER asked for money or sandwich back, but again, the person who gets to eat doesn't realize the business should know this is happening or they can't fix it. We had Capriotti's catered for an event at work. I was so excited to try it as I've heard great things! I had the chicken chipotle crunch sandwich and was surprised at how large it was. The sandwich was delicious, and I brought home the second half for my husband since he has also been wanting to try these sandwiches for a while. I had mine at noon for lunch and he had his around 6pm for dinner. He was a big fan of the sandwich too and loved it! Unfortunately, we both got very sick from eating this sandwich. We know for a fact that it was this food because it was the only new thing we both ate that day and we BOTH got sick. Mine started at 2am, and his started at 8am (6 hours after me, which was the same amount of time that passed between when we both ate the sandwich). Even another coworker who had the same sandwich as me felt sick the next day. I assume it had to be the chicken because nothing else on the sandwich should've made us this ill. I was so sick that I had to miss work which never happens. I was vomiting for literally the entire day and couldn't keep anything down, it was the sickest I have been in years! It lasted a full 24 hours which correlates with a classic case of food poisoning. My husband felt the same way and we were both completely miserable. It's safe to say that we will never trust anything from Capriotti's again after this incident and will not be returning, despite how much we liked the food. read more

While the cooks in the back, two of them, yap at each other instead of realizing the need for their help to make business faster is elsewhere. On 2/2/26 I ordered CAP'S Chopped Italian salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette for delivery. When I received my order it had absolutely no Italian meats but did have a very small amount of chicken. Also the Balsamic Vinaigrette was a red vinegar. It tasted awful. This was my first time ordering from Capriotti's and was my last. Delicious Sandos with that back east vibe to the place. The staff was cool and helpful. We came in drunk from the casinos hungry and they got us fixed up right. I went with the classic Bobbi which is a thanksgiving plate reconstructed into a sandwich. It usually comes with cranberry sauce but I'm not with it so I got mine without. But I'd definitely recommend if you do like it. Completes the sandwich. Parking is a little tight as the have a small ass lot. Not to bad to walk to if your putzing around the casinos. I am from Delaware where Capriotti's was a local favorite for obvious reasons. I often bragged to Reno friends how cool it was to be able to get an authentic East Cost cheesesteak in Reno. Boy the quality has gone downhill. I recently ordered a cheesesteak and it had virtually no hot and sweet peppers on it. I called the store and they just made excuses. We are only allowed To put a small scoop of peppers on the small they said. Well, until the quality comes back, I'm done with them. I have been eating their food for over 35 years. So sad. read more

First timers here! Was greeted by a middle aged woman who was wearing a manager shirt. Extremely rude! When I told her my first sub, she asked me multiple times if I was sure because it was a "big portion and a 24$ sub". I was sent an order so I ordered it as I read it and when I asked for a particular type of chip (mind you the chip rack is behind the counter) she said "nope! Don't have those. What you see is what you get!" In such a rude and bothered tone. She rushed our order (we were the only people in the restaurant) and when my dad asked to simply remove ONE ingredient, she was huffing and puffing making a big deal. After we started to walk away she makes a sarcastic remark about our order being all Italian subs, (maybe they're hard to make? Not sure.) she has continued to make comments about the subs as we sit here right in front of them. She was EXTREMELY rude to DoorDash drivers. One driver came in and said "I'm not sure why it says to contact the customer but it's asking me to tell you" the same manager responded, "why would I call her? Why would I call her? I'm not going to call her." Talking to her like a child & the driver was clearly uncomfortable. Customer service: 0/10 will not be returning. Very unpleasant setting. The cook says "5 minutes". Nearly half an hour in and they had not even begun to prepare my order. I was one of 2 people in the store. The cashier and the cook appeared to be having an argument. To her credit the Cashier acknowledged the failure on the part of capriottis. I said this experience merits 1 star of 5 and she agreed. As of this writing this location seems to be having problems. Id recommend another location or a different restaurant altogether until this one gets their act together. If that changes I will update this review. read more

I am allergic to mayo though so I ask them to put cranberry sauce on the bread instead and they have put mayo on it 9/10 times. They will remake it but it's a bit of an inconvenience! My experience was so bad. Bethany the shift supervisor I think maybe GM is just rude for no reason. Rude and still made the sandwich incorrect is diabolical. I understand busy days but if you don't like what you do change it. Working on Sundays isn't fun, I get it because I in fact work Sundays myself. But do I take it out on the customers? No. I ordered 2 sandwiches and made one a combo with a drink. She didn't like that I changed my mind on the bag of chips that she just has to grab. Ordered 18" pastrami sandwich with extra meat and cheese and it still had 2" of empty bun on both sides of the sandwich. They did not put extra meat on it. They charged $9 for extra meat and cheese. I ordered with Cole slaw on the side and then remembered they are stingy when asking for it on the side. So I paid for a side of Cole slaw in a second transaction. When I got my order they only gave me a little amount of Cole slaw in one container. When I said I did t get the extra Cole slaw she argued with me and said it's in the bag and I had to tell her it was only a half of a container of Cole slaw. So she said if you really want more I she could give me more. It was embarrassing to get questioned for something I paid for. The sandwich was 31 dollars with extra meat and cheese which they didn't put extra meat on it. Why would they be stingy when they charged so much? Its been a tough September. From the very beginning of it, my dad went in the hospital (Renown in Reno). Then they transferred him to Stanford (Palo Alto, CA), for emergency surgery. None of the family could get there. Dad passed away after 2 emergency surgeries. I am doing okay. And so far, mom is too. But we are taking it day by day. Mom and dad have a wedding anniversary in September. It is the 59th anniversary, this year. I wanted mom to be treated to something she really likes. Well, the sandwich place she usually gets a meatball sub, doesn't serve those anymore. I told her that she needed to try Capriottis! So she said she would. I got her the meatball sub and I got the half sub and salad combo with American Wagyu. We were both very satisfied! In fact, mom can't wait to try them again! She wants to try more sandwiches! Including the Slaw Be Jo :) My mom never got to eat out much. My dad wasn't that adventurous. I look forward to sharing my Yelp experiences and adventures with her! I've driven past this place for almost a decade without ever knowing the goodness that lies within. Then, by word of mouth I found out that this place offers vegetarian subs (and not just any old boring lettuce, tomato, onion variety of sub either). Cappriotti's offers not just one, but TWO different styles of vegetarian cheese steaks. I opted for the "chicken" style cheese steak and added pickles and lettuce to it. Holy guacamole, this thing was so delicious! I definitely recommend adding the pickles to this behemoth because it is very rich and filling, and the pickle definitely added the light crunch I needed. I'll definitely be back to try the Impossible "meat" cheese steak soon. I was out and about today with my boo and near Sierra St and 8th St. My go to Capriotti's sandwich spot is usually the location on Plumb Lane near the Reno Costco. However, we were practically on scene at this location and I decided I'd grab my Missy a sandwich. You veteran Reno residents know that traffic these days on any late afternoon, nonetheless a FRIDAY is nothing to play with. One false move will quickly lead you to sitting in a vehicle in our little concrete jungle for an unforeseen timeframe. On a Reno traffic update, the Nevada DOT is advising the new and improved I580/I80 AKA spaghetti bowl interchange will have its last phase completed in the year 2039. I quickly ran into this Caps. One of the employees shouted out we have a customer at the register. I soon realized that the boys working this location though young, understand that communication is key in this industry. I ordered the grilled Italian, changed the cheese to American from Provolone, and added a tomato. Other than meats, cheese, and the juicy tomato the boo sickle only eats her sandwich straight plain, no special sauce, no salt n pepper, just straight plain...you would be surprised how often this order is created wrong. As I completed the order I asked that the grill master cook the meats a little crispy! I observed the grill master cooking up those meats and boy was he hitting the grill cutting up those meats. I'd say he's ready to submit an application for Iron Chef. Last but not least, the worker who took my order went back to the grill master and confirmed this sandwich was plain Jane.
