Post-workout breakfast here the other day for the first time in years. It was nostalgic visiting since I used to bring my oldest here when she was very young. Definitely more during the fall for their pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes. This special is an all time favorite with my kids. Service was okay during this visit. We barely sat down and the girl came over to ask us if we were ready to order? That wasn't a good first impression. I brushed it off. We decided on a turkey Joe's scramble and a turkey loco moco with the gravy on the side. The overall experience was only four stars. Our turkey was overly salty. We'll remember when we come back to ask the kitchen to take it easy on the salt. We haven't been back in there prior to their updates, but it looks good in there. I've always loved an open kitchen.

I have never had a bad experience up until the other day. I ordered a BLT I specifically asked for my bread to be toasted light with a side of there yummy Mac salad when I was brought my plate the bread was over toasted the Mac salad was dry it may have needed to be stirred up or something. she took the BLT back to the cook to fix the bread he kept looking at me possibly upset but he should have never even looked at me like that at all,he should have fixed the issue and cooked on. I had mentioned that he looked pissed to my server she said no its me not you so needless to say the bread was not even now barley toasted and when I talked about the Mac she said o its the same as always ok I know its not a new recipe I have had it here lots of times its glossy looking & dry..by this time I'm now disgusted and not hungry.I understand the server was doing her best to back up the restaurant kindly but when your paying for the food and it's not done right or the salad is ronchy it should be made right the second time without the cook mad dogging you because it wasn't made how you ordered it in the 1st place.I said I wasn't gonna pay for it and ended up having to pay for a plate of food..she said do you want a box my response was no if I'm not going to eat it here I'm not going to eat it at home hello!!! There excuse to make us pay for it anyway was you could have ordered something else I said by this 2nd disappointed time I'm no longer hungry... constant kind excuses very sad.

    Belgian waffle & huevos rancheros

10am on a Saturday..expected a long wait but we're seated right away. The menu is phenomenal. How do you decide? I've always been a sucker for huevos rancheros, so I went with my gut. I was so glad I did. It is one of those dishes that you think about long after the meal. Hubby ordered the Belgian waffle & we were glad that's all he ordered because the huevos plate is huge! Perfectly cooked, plump pinto beans. An amazing salsa, I think? It was light, fresh, crisp, and the perfect accompanyment to the eggs, Jack cheese, and tasty ranchero sauce. The Belgian waffle was light and crisp. It wasn't cloyingly sweet and featured those extra toasty, tasty bites on the edges. Service was absolutely incredible. We never waited or wanted for anything. My goodness, we will be back. So many things on the menu & plates we saw being served looked so good!

Stopped at Peg's in Sparks this morning for breakfast was greeted by Jesse see it very fast and then was greeted by the server Dominic got us coffee right away and then took our order before you knew it was in front.of you It was so delicious. The place was clean the people that worked. There were all so nice and definitely will be going back soon.

    The new remodel looks amazing!

The new remodel looks fantastic! Pegs now look so clean and airy. There are a lot more tables and booths to sit at. They left the bar area, which is excellent for those who come in alone or don't want to wait for a booth or table. The food is always yummy and hot. My parents enjoy the food, my hubby and our friends enjoy the food, and my daughter and I love Pegs. There tend to be 5-9 of us when we want to come here, and everyone's always satisfied with their order. PS: Their wheat bread is so good! It's one of my reasons to come here and eat!

When I moved here from the Midwest, I was on the hunt to find a good "country" breakfast. Peg's gave me just that. It's a diner type of feel with large portions. I tried the biscuits and gravy and was absolutely not disappointed! Quick service and great food!

Wonderful food and service at this breakfast and brunch institution located in Sparks. We had a vegan special, loco moco, chile relleno and huevos rancheros. All meals were more than we bargained for. Come hungry because the portions are hefty

    1/2 Ham and Eggs

I was invited here to enjoy some breakfast with my mother. It had been a while since I went to someplace new, so I was very excited to come and try it out. I came inside and it was quite the spacious area, lots of seating and many different types of seating too! I was greeting very quickly and taken to my seat. Waitress greetings me and bringing silverware and water in only a minute, if even! The waitress was very kind and quick with helping, even though it was decently busy this morning. I decided to order the 1/2 pound Ham Steak & Eggs. It didn't take very long to get either, maybe 10 minutes, if even. The ham was well cooked and tasted great! Nice and juicy! The eggs were alright, not cooked fully but they tasted alright. The toast was very good! Toasted perfectly and full of flavor! The hash browns were absolutely delicious! Well cooked and full of flavor! Overall, this was an amazing breakfast to enjoy! Definitely recommend you check this place out! Nothing to complain about from my experience!

    Loco Moco breakfast
    Omayra O.

This place is the definition of a "greasy spoon." The servings are enormous, delicious, and in no way healthy. I got the Hawaiian breakfast and my partner got the Loco Moco (as suggested by our waitress). I really enjoyed my Hawaiian breakfast. The white rice and mac salad contrasted nicely with the salty eggs, Portuguese sausage and fried spam. I never eat spam unless I'm in Hawaii, so this was an indulgent treat for me. My partner really didn't like the Loco Moco. He said the ground beef was rancid O_O but the eggs were cooked well. The coffee was good and the service excellent. I wish that they had some kind of alternative milk (like oat milk or almond milk) and I took off one star because they still use Styrofoam to go containers. I get that this place has a kitschy vibe but let's leave the Styrofoam in the 80's where it belongs.

Came here as our last breakfast in Reno/Sparks before heading back home. Found Peg's through Yelp (of course) and was intrigued by the classic American/Hawaiian menu, which I figured would accommodate our whole group. Located off E Prater and Sparks Blvd, Peg's Glorified Ham and Eggs was poppin' on a Sunday morning (as expected). Our party of 5 waited about 20 minutes before getting a table. The inside is brightened by natural light and is super open, so lots of noise bounces around and it is a little hard to hear the people in my party talking. The kitchen is also very visible so I could smell the goodies they were cooking up before we even sat down. I ended up ordering: Loco moco - so delicious and the mac salad wasn't too bad either. Reminded me of a classic plate in Hawaii. Side short stack - this pancake was HUGE and super fluffy. Country fried steak and eggs - SO liked this one and demolished it. Service was also alright, although there was a slight wait time between being seated and ordering. I could see why Peg's is so popular and would definitely come again!

Just this past weekend I had a chance to visit Los Altos and it did not disappoint. The ambiance felt vaguely familiar, similar to another breakfast spot closer in town, but regardless I was hungry. The wait was about 15 minutes for a party of two. We waited inside what appeared to be a busy Saturday morning with families coming in to get their fix. I'm feeling sweet and savory today. A Tres Leches French toast combo with bacon, scrambled eggs and country style potatoes. Fritzie W. loves her eggs benedict. Almost any flavor, any style, covered in a salsa de verde for her Los Altos bene. Man, the flavors. The French toast was delicious, the tres leches sauce, wasn't too sweet, but just enough to let you know it means business. So good. You can't go wrong with eggs, bacon and potatoes. Fritzie's let me try her Benedict it was really good, prepared right--flavorful, savory. Nothing prepared was overdone, the servings were satisfying and our waitress was kind and accommodating along with the manager that shift having visited our table briefly to see how we were enjoying our meal. Well, they won't be pulling this review, unless they want to break federal law as my disclaimer at the end will explain. I love the decorations, and all of the different alien stuff, and just random decorum that actually works for this place. People can also sign their name and put stickers on the wall! Anyhow, I've been coming to these for years. The one in Carson City also. I've actually been interested in buying into one of these franchises, because everyone that I've been to have been super successful, but its a cool $¼M just to get started. They have a good diverse menu, and they have mimosas by the pitcher. Of all the times I've been to these, I've only had a subpar meal one time, and that was a few times ago when I ordered the chorizo Benedict. I think they were training a new cook, but the eggs were way overcooked, but they were happy to bring me better eggs. This particular visit, Tony was my server. He is excellent! I'm pretty sure that he's waited on us somewhere down the line, but super on top of things, super happy, just a really good dude, so ask to sit with him if you want top notch service! This visit, I ordered the traditional Benedict. I'm an eggs Benedict FIEND, and every time I come here I always say I'm going to order something different, but I generally don't. I do on occasion, but this bene I ordered yesterday was ON POINT! Large eggs, poached perfectly, perfect hash browns, creamy rich hollandaise sauce, and I even ordered a side of biscuits and gravy, which were perfect. Haley brought our food to us out of the kitchen, she was super nice and told us we could rely on her if we needed anything special! Squeeze in is always pretty much a guaranteed home run. Sometimes the wait times are crazy, which is a good thing, but you can always check in online. I checked in online before I left the house yesterday, had about an 8 minute drive, and was seated within 3 minutes of getting there. But other times, I've checked in 20 minutes before arrival, and still had to wait 10 or 20 minutes. Regardless, to me it's worth the wait. Thanks squeeze in, thanks Tony, thanks Haley, we'll be seeing you again soon! To Yelp: I don't work here. I don't own this place. I'm not a shareholder. I'm not affiliated with this business other than being a faithful paying customer. Once we were seated, we got our drink orders in and the server came to greet us. They had a lot on the menu so it took a bit to look through everything. I got the pancake combo and it was good. They gave me scrambled eggs instead of over medium eggs, and the server was quick to get the kitchen to make the correct eggs. I would love to try other items on the menu because it all looks really good. The atmosphere was decorated for Christmas, and there was a mural on the wall. It felt very cozy like you're being welcomed into someone's home for a meal. It does get very loud since they have so many tables and it is all one large open space. To pay, we go up to the counter. I waited 39 more minutes and had to leave, I am hypoglycemic, and I really needed some food. I came to Jack's just so I can get some food in my stomach. It is not extremely loud here. The conversations can be heard, but they are very low key. This place is closer to my house too. I do love the food at the other place, and their menu. However, the service of that location is the worst I have ever seen here in Reno at any restaurant. Especially since I was made to feel like it was my fault that they had not asked me what I wanted for breakfast, after giving me coffee... The omelet was very oily inside, and quality control wasn't there as I found 1.) a random cilantro leaf inside and 2.) a spot of some brown goop that I'm hoping was just pan fond from possibly using a pan that was previously used to cook something else (like fajitas possibly?).... My toast was also not up to par. The wheat bread was dry and a bit brittle and the toast wasn't warm. The butter (or butter substitute?) had not melted in and was just sitting on top like a paste. Our food came out at different times too so I'd recommend if you are there with a group not doing the typical wait-for-everyone's-food-to-arrive-before-eating type of thing. The service felt mixed. Several different people came by often enough (to check for coffee refills, etc.) but some were not warm and did not greet us with a smile. That didn't feel very welcoming. The ambiance isn't impressive. The outside signage doesn't look very good just thrown on top of some older beat up golden arches, but at least the inside looked like it was flipped. I did like that the tables felt spaced out enough that I didn't feel like a server could risk bumping into me with a tray like I have felt at some busier restaurants where the tables are more tight. And random, but I did notice some Hawaiian music was playing as we entered through the set of double doors (perhaps a nod to the previous restaurant?). Overall I might give Jacks a chance again as it seemed to be a standard breakfast place (and I liked that there was no wait for our party of 6 on a Friday morning during spring break) but I will not be ordering a omelet again.

I think this has officially become my new favorite breakfast spot and bakery. I had previously…read moretried their baked goods which I absolutely loved, but had never dined in for breakfast or lunch until now, and I'm so glad I did. We ordered a mix of items for the table: the lobster eggs Benedict, the chorizo omelet, and a panini (two breakfast dishes and one lunch option), and every single bite was delicious. There honestly wasn't one thing I didn't enjoy. It's a little tricky to find if you're not familiar with the area, but they do have plenty of parking, which makes it easier once you get there. The staff was friendly, kind, and incredibly accommodating. We came in with a large group of eight, and while it's typically a self-seating setup, they went out of their way to help us find a table that could fit everyone and made the whole experience seamless. I would absolutely recommend stopping by for breakfast or lunch and definitely don't skip the baked goods after.

We had been looking for a new place to try for brunch and Josef's on Plumb was suggested to us by a…read morefriend, who joined us for a mid-morning Sunday brunch. We sat ourselves per their request, with lots of options for seating (high and low 2-tops, low 4- to 6-tops, and patio seating), and were brought some menus shortly thereafter. We requested some waters and asked the server about some of the menu items, which she was incredibly helpful with. We put in our drink orders and finally decided on some food items to order (lots of great breakfast and lunch options to choose from), which our food order was take by a different server. Our food and drinks were brought out by separate food/drink runners while our server(s) were helping with other tables. The food and drinks were delicious! We had some vanilla lattes, a breve latte, and tried the green apple mimosa, made with fresh squeezed green apple juice - a unique and refreshing option for a mimosa! The mixed berry crepes were large and filled with berries and whipped cream. The smoked salmon Benedict was incredibly flavorful with the charred asparagus, sautéed spinach, poached eggs, hollandaise, balsamic drizzle, and capers atop brioche bread. The waffles were quite simple but still yummy. Unfortunately, our server(s) did not come back to check on us and we had to flag someone down for more water and for our check after our plates had been cleared for quite some time. This was the only downside we experienced on this visit, but look forward to coming back with hopefully more attentive service.
