Pretty good service. Lots of staff to help out and they seemed organized. Food came out fresh and yummy as always! We got Hawaiian breakfast that came with rice, spam, mac salad, Portuguese sausage which was good-- - little spicy but not very spicy. Just the right heat. Also the waffle with whip cream and chocolate chips. Went home full and happy! A couple of staff went to clean up tables and chairs so you know the place is clean, enough sunshine getting through the windows. It's a great reminder it's morning and it's time for breakfast and sunshine! Love this location. We will go back soon! read more

Another Peg's location-another winner. We've been regulars at Peg's since the early days when they only had one, downtown spot. I first heard about it when Esquire magazine proclaimed it to be the best breakfast in America. To quote the writer: "served in a skillet the diameter of a small umbrella". Obviously, there is a soft spot in my heart and nostalgia about that location, but due to it's smaller size and popularity, we decided to drive over to Sparks and check out this other Peg's (they have 5 locations now in total in the Reno metro area). Placed in the strip mall with ample parking, Sparks location is much bigger than the OG Sierra St., but not less busy. We probably got lucky , since they had two open tables, and were seated right away. A minute later, there was already a wait list. When it comes to Peg's I always order the same thing-Huevos Rancheros skillet with the side of bacon. If I was not super-hungry, this meal might have been enough for 2 and comes with all the fixings: hash browns, coleslaw, beans, pico, and a slice of fruit. Esquire article still holds true after all these years: Peg's might still be the best breakfast in the country. Add that coffee is always piping hot and refilled quickly, service quick and efficient, and it's hard to chose another place for breakfast in Northern Nevada. The only thing that could make it better is is to have a bloody mart to pair with the skillet, but there are plenty places nearby for that. Needles to say...until next time. read more

Peg's has always been one of a few spots with the best pancakes in Reno/Sparks. This morning was a not a goid morning for me. My pancake looked great; it was enormous; it was perfectly cooked, and the caramelization was spot on. However the pancake was cold! What a downer for me. I did not say anything to the waitress until I had enough and place my fork down. We had a great, pleasant server who when I casually mentioned my dilemma to her she replied, "Why didn't you tell me. I would have told them to make you another one." I replied, "They should have known it was cold if it was not made to order." From that point, we just went to another topic. IMO, this has to be a one time incident. I do not believe Peg's is cooking pancakes en masse to be served throughout their business hours. I, the pancake critic, will be back for more of your award winning pancakes. read more

Post-workout breakfast here the other day for the first time in years. It was nostalgic visiting since I used to bring my oldest here when she was very young. Definitely more during the fall for their pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes. This special is an all time favorite with my kids. Service was okay during this visit. We barely sat down and the girl came over to ask us if we were ready to order? That wasn't a good first impression. I brushed it off. We decided on a turkey Joe's scramble and a turkey loco moco with the gravy on the side. The overall experience was only four stars. Our turkey was overly salty. We'll remember when we come back to ask the kitchen to take it easy on the salt. We haven't been back in there prior to their updates, but it looks good in there. Absolutely by far the BEST Loco Moco in Northern NV. You will not be disappointed ! It's so close to "home" (Hawaii) the brown gravy and patty plus the macaroni salad ! We had a party of six. When we arrived, there was already a list to get in. We put our name on the list and waited. Once inside, we were given menus and took our time going over it. We each placed our order. Let me just say the servings are huge. The food is good and plentiful. We were all so hungry from waiting that we forgot to take photos. Let me just say that the staff was helpful and kind. The restaurant was packed and clean. We all enjoyed our food and would definitely go back. I highly suggest getting there early. read more

I have never had a bad experience up until the other day. I ordered a BLT I specifically asked for my bread to be toasted light with a side of there yummy Mac salad when I was brought my plate the bread was over toasted the Mac salad was dry it may have needed to be stirred up or something. she took the BLT back to the cook to fix the bread he kept looking at me possibly upset but he should have never even looked at me like that at all,he should have fixed the issue and cooked on. I had mentioned that he looked pissed to my server she said no its me not you so needless to say the bread was not even now barley toasted and when I talked about the Mac she said o its the same as always ok I know its not a new recipe I have had it here lots of times its glossy looking & dry..by this time I'm now disgusted and not hungry.I understand the server was doing her best to back up the restaurant kindly but when your paying for the food and it's not done right or the salad is ronchy it should be made right the second time without the cook mad dogging you because it wasn't made how you ordered it in the 1st place.I said I wasn't gonna pay for it and ended up having to pay for a plate of food..she said do you want a box my response was no if I'm not going to eat it here I'm not going to eat it at home hello!!! 10am on a Saturday..expected a long wait but we're seated right away. The menu is phenomenal. How do you decide? I've always been a sucker for huevos rancheros, so I went with my gut. I was so glad I did. It is one of those dishes that you think about long after the meal. Hubby ordered the Belgian waffle & we were glad that's all he ordered because the huevos plate is huge! Perfectly cooked, plump pinto beans. An amazing salsa, I think? It was light, fresh, crisp, and the perfect accompanyment to the eggs, Jack cheese, and tasty ranchero sauce. The Belgian waffle was light and crisp. It wasn't cloyingly sweet and featured those extra toasty, tasty bites on the edges. Service was absolutely incredible. We never waited or wanted for anything. The new remodel looks fantastic! Pegs now look so clean and airy. There are a lot more tables and booths to sit at. They left the bar area, which is excellent for those who come in alone or don't want to wait for a booth or table. The food is always yummy and hot. My parents enjoy the food, my hubby and our friends enjoy the food, and my daughter and I love Pegs. There tend to be 5-9 of us when we want to come here, and everyone's always satisfied with their order. PS: Their wheat bread is so good! It's one of my reasons to come here and eat! read more

The food was okay and the service was great, very friendly staff. I'm from Hawaii, and the loco moco wasn't what I expected. I'm not expecting it to be top tier, but if a Yelp review says they're from Hawaii and it's the best, I would expect it to be at least an 8 out of 10. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I was invited here to enjoy some breakfast with my mother. It had been a while since I went to someplace new, so I was very excited to come and try it out. I came inside and it was quite the spacious area, lots of seating and many different types of seating too! I was greeting very quickly and taken to my seat. Waitress greetings me and bringing silverware and water in only a minute, if even! The waitress was very kind and quick with helping, even though it was decently busy this morning. I decided to order the 1/2 pound Ham Steak & Eggs. It didn't take very long to get either, maybe 10 minutes, if even. The ham was well cooked and tasted great! Nice and juicy! The eggs were alright, not cooked fully but they tasted alright. The toast was very good! Toasted perfectly and full of flavor! The hash browns were absolutely delicious! This place is the definition of a "greasy spoon." The servings are enormous, delicious, and in no way healthy. I got the Hawaiian breakfast and my partner got the Loco Moco (as suggested by our waitress). I really enjoyed my Hawaiian breakfast. The white rice and mac salad contrasted nicely with the salty eggs, Portuguese sausage and fried spam. I never eat spam unless I'm in Hawaii, so this was an indulgent treat for me. My partner really didn't like the Loco Moco. He said the ground beef was rancid O_O but the eggs were cooked well. The coffee was good and the service excellent. I wish that they had some kind of alternative milk (like oat milk or almond milk) and I took off one star because they still use Styrofoam to go containers. I get that this place has a kitschy vibe but let's leave the Styrofoam in the 80's where it belongs. read more

Came here as our last breakfast in Reno/Sparks before heading back home. Found Peg's through Yelp (of course) and was intrigued by the classic American/Hawaiian menu, which I figured would accommodate our whole group. Located off E Prater and Sparks Blvd, Peg's Glorified Ham and Eggs was poppin' on a Sunday morning (as expected). Our party of 5 waited about 20 minutes before getting a table. The inside is brightened by natural light and is super open, so lots of noise bounces around and it is a little hard to hear the people in my party talking. The kitchen is also very visible so I could smell the goodies they were cooking up before we even sat down. I ended up ordering: Loco moco - so delicious and the mac salad wasn't too bad either. Reminded me of a classic plate in Hawaii. Side short stack - this pancake was HUGE and super fluffy. Country fried steak and eggs - SO liked this one and demolished it. Came here recently on a Sunday around 11 and was happy to have no longer than a 10 minute wait for two people. I know wait times aren't always so short. The table was a bit small to fit everything, but we managed. I ordered a coffee and I was told the only half and half available was the prepackaged little plastic pods. I do wish they served real half and half in a glass. I love the banana foster pancakes. Absolutely full of sugar, sweetness, and satisfaction. It's a little expensive to order these with bacon and eggs (and it's a lot of food). It would be so awesome if they offered a single pancakes to order as a side option. We love getting breakfast here on the weekends - come before 10am otherwise it starts getting crazy busy! We got the breakfast burrito skillet per the waitress's recommendation and it was amazing! I should have taken a photo of inside the burrito but it had eggs ham cheese onions - so soft! The red sauce was good with it - we added some tobacco This place definitely has a diner feel with the bar seating and open kitchen (as well as tables) - if that's what ur looking for this place is it! A very small place in Reno Nevada on S Meadows ParkWay. I found it on my way to Virginia city and had an. EGG-ceptional breakfast served by Bailey S. It was amazing watching all of the staff work with each other and cover each other where needed, the service was top-notch not to mention the food. It was the best omelette I've ever had, and the side of hashbrowns was cooked perfectly along with my sourdough bread. I would recommend this place to everybody that has a moment to stop in and eat just once. There was food for one big appetite, and I ended up taking some home. 1. Items were missing from the food order (a Pepsi and requested avocado in the BLT). Another error was bringing fries to someone who ordered Cole slaw. 2. Server was unapologetic about the mistakes 3. When asked for a small to go container for coleslaw, a large one was brought. When I asked for a container that would better hold the coleslaw ( cup with a lid) I was brought a tiny cup that wouldn't hold even half of it. Was then brought a small regular to go container. 4. As for food quality, the bottom slice of bread was barely toasted and there was not much bacon for the price ($15). 5. Previous visits to this and other Peg's were awesome. Love Peg's breakfast! For food this is my favorite breakfast spot. The huevos rancheros is my go-to order. Comes in a skillet always hot and consistently delicious. Their slaw that comes with this is my favorite!! The atmosphere is the one downside of this spot. Especially since the remodel. The kitchen is open to you can watch your food being prepped diner-style. Expect crowds, some tight seating at times...and LOTS of noise and activity. read more

Peg's has been a Reno since 1999 and probably doesn't need a review. But for non locals, let me tell you, this is the breakfast place. When they opened their new restaurant in Sparks a few years ago, I worried the quality wouldn't be the same but I should've expected perfection. The restaurant in Sparks is small so expect a wait if you go on the weekends or during the busy times. But it is well worth the wait. Peg's is the only place I have found that serves the culinary delight known as the Monte Cristo sandwich. If I am not ordering the waffles, I am ordering the Monte Cristo. My kid loves their Huevos Rancheros. While the prices have gone up, the quantity and quality of the food has not changed. Every portion is huge and I often have leftovers to take home. Their coffee and soft drinks are refillable and the service is always exceptional. If you haven't eaten at any of the Peg's, do so. You are in for a treat. read more

First time at this Peg's and first at any Peg's in five years. It was a holiday weekend and the place was hopping. We arrived at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and we waited 15 mins for a table. Our server brought menus shortly afterwards. My granddaughter got a big waffle with strawberries and a hot cocoa, my son-in-law got Bacon and Eggs, which came with hash browns and toast and I got the Country Gravy Benedict, which also came with hash browns and toast. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed her entire meal. Of course, the strawberries disappeared first. My Benedict was very good. There was plenty of gravy and the hash browns came out crispy, just as I had requested. I would definitely order that item again. read more

The service was terrible today. Unfortunately it was so bad that we just won't be back. When someone comes in with a kid, it's probably a good idea to treat the kid with the same respect that you treat the parents. My daughter was treated like she was invisible. And she's 9 ! She wasn't given a menu, she wasn't given water (we had to ask) and the waitress just had a really bland attitude compared to everyone else we interacted with.
