With all of the amazing gluten free reviews I think it must of been our server who started out ready to box over me asking my very first question about what I could eat. I was really excited to come here especially seeing other people with celiac leaving a review. I am very well versed in cross contact. I live me entire life managing cross contact and working through picking a meal I can eat. Some people just want to focus on the existence of cross contact. That was our server. She barely let me speak, she interrupted, wasn't answering my actual question about what kind of toaster they used and what grill the bread is heated on, etc because she wanted to repeat the existence of cross contact. Good lord. I was one second away from walking out. She was a really piece of work. She then upped the "nice" factor to call me sweetie the rest of the meal which makes me want to crawl out of my skin. Honestly, I am very flexible, I think this place may be better than my first impression but this server needs to be retrained to LISTEN to the customer and answer questions and not just make it an effort to drive people out. This is a few minutes of her time, and I have to live my entire life like this without treatment until I die, so a little kindness and active listening is really a minimal effort for a few minutes every now and then. 3 stars is generous. I took my family here and we loved the service and the ambiance was good. Our waitress was very sweet. My fiance and I both ordered the salmon omelet and were very disappointed. It lacked flavor and had very little cheese. I was so bummed because I love omelets but I won't order this one again. I wish the salmon was in the filling, rather than cooked into the egg. It would have been much better if the dill had been incorporated into the omelette rather than just a small garnish. All of our food was lukewarm. I wish I had the option for butter for my toast. We had a party of 6 and had a little bit of a wait but not bad. We took advantage of Side Chicks and had a beverage while waiting. We got a table outside, was a little chilly in the shade but it was fine. We agreed to inside or outside when we out our name in. The kids were cold. We all ordered something different. I enjoyed my country Benedict. The egg was perfectly poached, gravy was tasty and so was the chorizo patty. Biscuits are always good. Hubby had the regular Benedict with added avocado. Quick breakfast while we were out running errands today. We stopped into Two Chicks. There was about a 20-minute wait but it wasn't bad. We had a great server Ling who I want to thank for my to-go coffee which was unexpected and very special. We ordered off the small menu which are half items. I got the one egg, choice of meat, I took the sage sausage patty, a side of cottage cheese and sourdough toast which unfortunately I didn't get but that was okay. My granddaughter ordered the half eggs benedict which is exactly that on a big slice of Canadian bacon, with the side of cottage cheese and she also ordered a pancake. The food arrived quickly and we enjoyed it with a cup of coffee and some water. We love Two Chicks and we'll always come here. The portion size is definitely worth the price in my opinion. It was very busy when we went, but I could see why. We came around 11 o'clock on a Saturday and the wait was about 50 minutes long. After we came back to be seated, we ordered and the wait was long before we got our food. We really liked the Benedict. It wasn't a relatively small size, perfect for me. When you bite into it, you can taste it was very buttery. The hash browns were standard, not too flavorful, but ok with ketchup. My husband's biscuits and gravy with sausage was good but he said it was too filling. My daughter's sweet potato pancakes fell apart in the mouth and weren't too good. The restaurant is an organized eclectic restaurant that is kept clean and serviced by a knowledgeable staff that is friendly. To drink I had the Strawberry Lemonade Mimosa. This was large and delicious! It was light, refreshing, and had real strawberry purée in it. To eat I had the salmon bene and my husband had the chorizo omelette. Overall the salmon bene was good. The eggs were poached absolutely beautifully. The hollandaise was flavorful. The salmon was cooked perfectly but there wasn't much of it. Unfortunately the English Muffins the bene was served on was larger than the rest of the dish and took away from the meal. I was missing what capers or something would add to the dish-I am allergic to onions so I had mine without the pickled onions so I hope those onions would bring what the dish needs in that department. The chorizo omelette had beautifully cooked eggs and full of flavorful ingredients. The hash browns that the dishes came with were crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside with the perfect amount of seasoning to elevate them. Just went here with a friend who was visiting me from Dayton. The place is much bigger than it looks from the street. I was so happy that there was no wait for lunch. I like the menu because it has a variety and items that you don't find at other restaurants. Lots of people were there but we found a nice spot to visit. She got an Farm house omelet and the only thing she did not like was it had the white Mexican cheese instead of cheeses that melt like cheddar. I also thought the bread slice was small. I got the poppy seed french toast with eggs and bacon. The french toast is an acquired taste but I love that it had blueberries on top. It came with plain butter and syrup. Stopped for breakfast early before heading to Lake Tahoe. We were seated right away by very friendly staff. I love the open view into the kitchen. Our food came out pretty quick. I had the chalaquilles verdes with eggs over easy. It was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of heat. I truly appreciated the side of sour cream as well. My husband had the biscuits and gravy which he devoured. The biscuit was light and fluffy with a good texture but the side of sausage was a little hard to cut. I always enjoy Two Chicks every time I go! It's a great local breakfast spot that I love bringing visitors to. There's generally quite a long wait since it's a very popular place so don't expect to walk right in. However, the service is always friendly but the rate at which your food comes out also depends on how busy the kitchen gets. It's a cozy place but but definitely has a lot of room and once you're seated the service is pretty quick! When I'm not too hungry I like to order the Two Egg Breakfast with the sage maple sausage and eggs. I love that when you get toast there is always a fun butter that comes with it. When I'm a bit hungrier I like the eggs benedicts and love that you have the option to mix and match from the classic, the caprese, and the veggie. Another good choice is the chicken fried steak and eggs and in general instead of hash browns I like substituting for the parmesan-garlic fries.
