Grabbed lunch with friends. Easy to get a table for lunch for four of us. Full bar and nice wine list. Some craft beers are available. Portions large enough for some of us to get leftovers. Just off the casino floor which allows smoking. You can't smell it towards the back of the room.

Monte Cristo comes with Hash Browns and jam to dip it in!

Best Monte Cristo sandwich in Reno! If you haven't had one it's a must try! Weird and delicious! Everything else is good here! Don't know why this place isn't packed?

If you ever come here , I will laugh at you ! The menu is fabulous , but the staff is absolutely HORRENDUS! Not only are they slow, they are SLOW! Jeff Jacob's doesn't take care of his staff and they won't take care of you

My fave salmon-farro plate!

This is the diner at the J Casino where Mel's used to be. I have learned to prepare for a little wait so plan on about 15-30 before your food comes. Freshly made food, not fast food. My fave is the crispy topped salmon, cheesy farro, blistered tomatoes and asparagus one can eat to the stem meal. I love it. They have a featured lasagna special that came with a lot of meat sauce within the noodle layers. The cheesy bread sticks that came with it tasted freshly baked and was quite addicting. Kudos for the outstanding bread sticks! Friendly service and hostess. They have a bar area to eat at, too. They are on Open Table.

Tried this for the first time. Did not disappoint. We came in after 4. Was not too busy. Out waitress was very helpful in our choices. I really enjoyed a dining experience where you could have a decent conversation without yelling. Very relaxing vibe. The food was an easy 8 out of 10. The dessert was a 10 out of 10 Will be back to try breakfast next time.

The steak and eggs were good. Our server Cloey was helpful and friendly. The place is clean and spacious with plenty of parking outside.

Recently had a mini staycation at the J and was not disappointed. The service was great at the restaurant, which was very clean and comfortable. The food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. The eggs benedict weren't the best I've had, but not the worst either. The sauce was a little thick in my opinion, but had decent flavor. The sweet roll was absolutely incredible! The chicken and waffles also had great flavor. My mimosa was a little heavy on the orange juice, but again-not the worst I've ever had. All in all, I would eat here again.

Monte Cristo Sandwich

This diner is easy to get to from parking. Located right in front, so no need to walk through the Casino portion of the J Resort. Server was attentive. I was excited they have a Monte Cristo on the menu. Sweet, fried, with Swiss cheese, turkey and ham. Don't come across it very much. It met my expectations. Half was enough, so had leftovers. Compared to the one on Cafe Milano (Peppermill) menu, the sandwich is a toss up. Hannah's table had a blueberry based jam for dipping that I liked better (tasted like it was made in house verses others). But I like the presentation of the sandwich at Cafe Milano more. My friends ordered different omelettes and had no complaints. As a local, you get 25% off the bill, so very affordable.

The wife and I decided to try this place for breakfast. The hostess was friendly and our waitress was awesome! The food came out really fast and was really good! Cool laid back place also has outdoor seating if you want to go outside.

Hanna's table is an American diner located inside the J Resort. It's clean, spacious, and inviting. I especially love the stone-embedded walls and comfy booths. We've dined here a handful of times. Food is reasonably priced. Breakfast dishes are usually better here than your average diner. We've had pretty good lunches, too: their sandwiches, soups, and salads are delicious. On a recent lunch visit, I had the grilled salmon dish with creamy farro, blistered tomatoes, and asparagus... it was cooked to perfection! Service is always quick and friendly. With the J Resorts card, I'll get monthly specials.. which gives me $5 or $10 off.. and makes our visits even sweeter!

1/19/25 Encouraged by my neighbors to revisit.. Can't believe it's been a year since the first visit.. Great to see plenty of customers and staff- The menu was appealing as I always look for yogurt parfaits to start off.. Went with the granola yogurt parfait, the one egg special, the breakfast burrito and Wolferman's English muffin..( more curious of the brand name)... Presentation was colorful and neat-( although the sweet peppers were hard- would have liked grilled.. Breakfast burrito had carnitas and was consumed happily.. Glad we stopped in.

Delicious coffee! And service I always come back to this place to have breakfast even if we do not stay in the hotel.

And the meat is literally ground beef!! Keep in mind, I paid $19 for this

It was such a beautiful day.... where can we eat outside?…read more I found "The Spot", its in the old Smee's location on the river. When we showed up, we asked if we could sit at a table outside, the guy was a little overwhelmed, he said "I can sit you in 10 mins". I said "can we have this table". OK, but....just know I'll be with you as soon as I get caught up, I'm totally fine with that I said. . He bought us a couple menus to look over. Then a table on the railing with shade opened up, I didn't care about the table was dirty with dishes, so we decided to move. I love to look at the river and watch the people go by. The server said, I'll be over soon! He was never so happy when Sierra showed up to help him out. He came over to our table I said "I hope you don't mind, I moved to be in the shade, I know I'm one of those pain in the ass customers". Then he started joking with me and it was the perfect ice breaker. My server and part owner's name is Casey! He is an awesome guy and such a hard worker to ensure his customers are taken care of. I love that. We had a couple beers, he has quite the selection of beers on tap, he supports the community breweries such as Lead Dog and Revisions. My husband had the breakfast burrito $13, it was huge with homemade tortilla chips with salad and guacamole. I had the fish and chips. You get three large pieces of fish, fries and yummy coleslaw. I love how they put the tater sauce and ketchups in personal cups for you that shows class. My fish was absolutely delicious better than the old Smees and especially the new location. You get a nice meal for $20. They have indoor, outdoor, bar seating. They have a little merch area and a gaming bar if you feel lucky. I know the Open Championship Bowlers are in town, if you're looking for nice comfort food "tavern style" location this is the place for you on the Reno Riverwalk 50 N Sierra. It upstairs.

Either way this worked out, as we decided to split a smash burger and hubs beer was on the football list of drinks. I got an IPA..it was only 8 dollars normal price. The place inside is small, and it was cold outside, yet people still weathered the outside to see the river. The bartenders were doing a great job with service. Out food was very good and we loved the French fries. It got chaotic at the end, as a bar crawl of some type showed up and overwhelmed the staff...not their fault. It got very rowdy in there so we left. I will come back during better weather. I only suggest you fix your website to be more current.

We had a show to attend and the timing was changed unbeknownst to me so it quickly became a rushed dining experience. Even though it was all cut a little short, it also left a lot to be returned for! Absolutely can't wait to go back for another fabulous pineapple drink experience and phenomenal food happening. Also, Joe, our incredible table-side libation magician was beyond phenomenal all the way around. He left us with a great impression, big smiles, and with that I'm definitely looking forward to another visit very soon! Service is important and our server along with Joe nailed it. 10 out of 10- but next time we'll plan a little better and stay a lot longer.

The lamb was sooo good and the mint chutney was honestly one of my favorite parts. For entrees, we had the fontina and truffle ravioli and the beef wellington. The ravioli was really good, especially with the butternut squash puree. The beef wellington was a little underwhelming, just didn't quite live up to the hype. Ended with dessert cocktails and I loved that my espresso martini came with lady fingers, such a cute and tasty touch. Overall, I'm really glad I got to try it. Definitely feels like a special occasion spot and I'd come back again!

It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

The cauliflower was one of my favorites, roasted perfectly with great flavor, Fondue was creamy, hot and delicious, meatballs were super moist and bursting with flavor. The olives were dry and tiny and hard to enjoy due to pit. The backpack was ok but not great. Now, the pizza! It was absolutely perfect. Thin crust, perfect amount of cheese and toppings. I enjoyed the bee sting pizza, hot and sweet, and I love the combination. When I go back it will definitely be pizza, salad and cauliflower. The sever was a sweet young man. He was attentive to our needs and patient with all our questions. The restaurant is a good size, the bar area was busy and filled with conversation and laughter, the booths looked cozy, we chose a table near windows for outside lighting. The outside tables looked great for getting some warmth and fresh air. Many options and different settings. Sorry, I forgot to take pics.

Before you go in, there is signs that says expect a 20 minute wait or more for a burger. If that is an issue for you, this isn't the spot for you. I've gone here a few times. The most recent time with my parents and aunt. I was a bit skeptical taking them to a dive bar for a burger since I wasn't sure how they would react to it. I didn't know until after the meal that they had a whole back section that would have been a lot better of an experience for them. They have a lot of tables and room back there whereas the front is either a bar, one table, or more a a lounge set up. There is also a outdoor area, but it had been a bit windy and sprinkling throughout the day so that isn't an option. I've done the Frenchified burger and the chile burger. Both times i opted for the fries over the chips and feel like I need to try the chips. Burger comes with two patties, a great bun, than the rest is up to you on which you choose. The fries are what I would consider shoe string fries, but maybe slightly thicker. I'm usually not a fan of shoestring fries, but I polished them off easily both times. My parents and aunt are harder to please. They like ingredients that speak for themselves and don't like too much sauces. All 3 of them really enjoyed it and I'm sure they will all be back. They have been looking for a good burger in Reno and I think this was it for them.

The grits were a bit runny (I prefer dryer grits) but tasty. My husband said the chicken tasted good, but was a bit overcooked. We shared a Tiramisu for dessert. And, there were a lot of local beer options on draft. - My wife and I split both the Vegan Breakfast Tacos and the After School Special. The grilled cheese sandwich was pretty normal, but the tomato basil soup was especially good. - As we were the only folks in the place, service was very attentive.
