Husband and I came for a few drinks on Sunday Funday. Very cool place and the bartender was wonderful. We started with the Kiwi Be Friends and Capybara, but finished with the Consigliere and the Frosé All Day. Everything was excellent and we will be back again for great drinks and good vibes.
I was so excited to to come to this place for the bloody Mary that everybody raves about. Four of us walked in and sat down. Only 2 other people present . Arrived at 11:10 am . Server / bartender never approached us . We sat there and tried to make contact but she ignored us . Very disappointed. Money walked right out the door .
Sleek, homely, and stylish, Chapel Tavern stands among the best bars in Reno. If you sit at the bar, when you buy a drink, they sometimes give you a tarot card coaster. The designs are cool, and they have all these different versions. Quite classy. Another time I went, I didn't know what drink to get. I asked the bartender if he could make me any drink he wants. The bartender makes one of his favorite drinks, which was this option called Zona Rosa, a drink that hasn't been on the menu for around 10 years. I thought that was very cool that he just pulled a defunct recipe out of the bag. Very good customer service. I love the Zona Rosa! I don't think it's for everyone. It has a very earthy, beet-like taste to it. It maintained some sweetness that beets usually have (I don't think the drink actually has beets either), but definitely not to the extent of other sweet cocktails. Its taste really cut the alcohol, so the experience was very smooth.

I came here mid week to meet up with a few friends. The roll up door to the outside was open which made it a little less crowded. The drinks were great, but the noise level was so high that we only stayed for one drink and moved on to a quieter location. There are other bar locations that have more space to sit and are arranged in a way to be able to converse with fellow guests.
Then we went to Chapel Tavern where I experienced probably the best Bloody Mary that I have ever had. It included a grilled cheese (which was delicious), a little smoky sausage, peppers, olives, green bean, asparagus, and generous amount of perfectly cooked and seasoned bacon... and the actual Bloody Mary was amazing as well. The bar tender was extremely friendly and the place was very warm and inviting.
We always stop at the Chapel every time we visit Reno, All the drinks are - just delicious All the bartenders are friendly and pay attention to detail, the drinks are specially crafted I recommend you try it at least one time and of course you'll fall in love with this place
Reminds me of a speakeasy because it's dark inside, hard to find at night, has a random red door, and you can't really tell if it's open or not. They have a pretty extensive spirits and alcohol list and very beautiful well-lit bar filled with a bunch of bottles until you reach the ceilings. The bartenders are very friendly, service is great. There is some street parking and a small lot behind it. My only gripe is that there is no hot water in the bathrooms or seat covers and it was 20 degrees at night! Super freezing but overall a great experience I came back the best day for this hot drink which reminds me of what I think butter beer from Harry Potter would taste like. Pretty dope atmosphere with good vibes from everyone I will return when in Reno again.

Been a hot minute since I've been here, but I had the occasion to swing by Chapel Tavern a couple times in the last week. And yeah, this remains a place I highly recommend to come, hang out, and have a drink or two. First off, I really enjoy the building itself and decor. Really pleasant vibe, and also with both a cool front deck and a very nice little back patio. Parking may be an issue, as their shared lot is rather small, but there are plenty of street spaces in the surrounding neighborhoods. I also appreciate that these guys stay open quite late. I had to wait in town to head to the airport, and it was very refreshing to have a late night libation spot that wasn't just a dive bar. As for the drinks on offer, they have tons to choose from. With an entire wall of bottles, they stir up pretty much anything you like. I had an Old Fashioned, which was honestly just alright. But trying out one of their house specialties, the Thai Ball, that was pretty darn surprising, and outstanding. They also have a couple beer and wine choices, too. Plus, since the last time I was here was around the Holidays last year, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the seasonal eggnog they do each year, as that is incredible stuff. Prices seem to hover in the $12-15 range for most cocktails. And the service is very friendly and usually prompt, but can get a bit backed up during some busier hours. All in all, I think Chapel Tavern remains a place in Midtown I highly recommend for anyone who wants a decent drink. Good booze, good atmosphere. Really what more could you want.
We got into Reno last night and met friends at Chapel Tavern. As soon as we walked in, I knew we had chosen the correct bar. The music and ambience were on point. Sam was our bartender, he was very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. I have enjoyed libations at some of the best bars around the country and Chapel Tavern did not disappoint. From the barrel aged solara Boulevardier to the seasonal cocktails, everything was delicious. Sam's hospitality was definitely the cherry on top. He made our first night in Reno a memorable experience and we will definitely be visiting Chapel Tavern every time we are back in Reno. Cheers

Updated ! After 10 years it is refreshing to be able to still make memories and enjoy this place. New owners have been able to keep the bartenders and the atmosphere is the same!! Wide variety of alcohol. Step out of your comfort zone and let them make a drink for you with your favorite spirit. The wall is full of selections from around the world. They do not have a beer selection. Have your valid ID ready no matter how "young" you are. Everyone is carded. Bouncers are there at night and will make sure you get to your car in the lot if needed. read more

We visited The Chapel Tavern in Midtown Reno and it was genuinely one of the best experiences ever. The bartender was fantastic and made the visit memorable by creating custom drinks based on our alcohol preferences which was such a fun and personal touch. We had two very different tastes (vodka and tequila) and she nailed both drinks perfectly. The bar felt clean, welcoming and comfortable even with its edgy vibe. I also loved the tarot cards they provide! I think they may have been intended as coasters (lol) but I kept mine as a souvenir and now use it as my bookmark. It's become one of my favorite little keepsakes. Location and parking: it's on a main strip right on the corner with a small parking lot but there's also accessible street parking in the neighborhood. I highly recommend it and will definitely return anytime I'm in Reno read more

We got into Reno last night and met friends at Chapel Tavern. As soon as we walked in, I knew we had chosen the correct bar. The music and ambience were on point. Sam was our bartender, he was very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. I have enjoyed libations at some of the best bars around the country and Chapel Tavern did not disappoint. From the barrel aged solara Boulevardier to the seasonal cocktails, everything was delicious. Sam's hospitality was definitely the cherry on top. This is THE place to grab a cocktail in Reno. Not a "drink" or a "cold one." A cocktail. The floor is concrete, the ceiling is open rafter, and the tables are wood. It might sound cold, but the people who gather here make it a warm, inviting place to while away the hours with friends. Reno has some great bars, but this is the pinnacle of barcrafting. One of my favorite spots in reno. Chapel is always a good time if you are looking for a quality cocktail. There is a small parking lot, but spaces can be hard to come by depending on the time of day. My husband and I live in midtown and always walk over. If you are interested in a hand crafted cocktail or trying some nice whiskeys... this is the place for you! You will never be disappointed! Their cocktail menu also updates with the seasons, so you will have a unique experience no matter what time of year you visit. The bartenders are amazing! And the atmosphere is superb! Next time you are in midtown, swing by Chapel! read more
Great bar in Midtown and little known brunch spot on the weekends. Fully loaded Bloody Mary is brunch! Amazing selection of spirits, especially the bourbon and whiskey collection. Bartenders are truly artists, they'll make whatever you want, especially the house specialties. Good/great beer selection as well. This was a quaint little spot we stumbled upon when walking around. It was easily accessible, chill atmosphere, and the bartender was pretty attentive. There were about 8 of us, but he made sure to pay attention and offer suggestions or service when necessary. The spot seemed to have quite a few selections for craft beer, but their spirits were also quite impressive. My husband got a neat bourbon pour based on the suggestion of the bartender while I opted for a Blanton's Gold. The pours were reasonably priced so we decided to splurge. We also had cause to use the restroom, which was pretty clean. And although the outdoor patio was open, we preferred to sit in the AC. All in all, I could see myself returning. Great vibe and the service was pretty amazing. If I'm ever back in town, I'll make sure to stop by. read more

Cute little corner bar in Midtown. It was my first time there. We were early for dinner at a nearby restaurant so we popped in to have a pre-dinner drink. They have shelves and shelves of different alcohol. Guessing there is not a drink they can't make. They also offer beers and wine. Bartender was friendly and she made sure we liked our drinks before we went and sat at a table. According to their drink menu they have a good variety of house infused liquors. My only regret was not looking at the menu before I ordered!! It's kind of a rustic hunting/country theme. Had plenty of seating for large groups as well. read more
There are plenty of bars in Midtown. If you're looking for one with lots of spirits and craft beers, check this place out. When I come back, I'm definitely going to sample a craft cocktail. The interior is spacious and open. This would be a good place to host a group event. read more

Order: 'DEEP COVER' Black IPA - The Brewing Lair Chapel is cool AF!! Beautiful interiors & always a wide array of local rotating craft beers to choose from, along with a huge wall of whiskey and whatever else your heart desires. Right now I am so about The Brewing Lair's black IPA. Lots of indoor & outdoor patio seating. And billiards for you gamers. Darts too I think.... !!! read more
The bartenders are really friendly and helpful when navigating the cocktail menu. The pour is liberal and reminds me of a Vegas pour. The music is chill and the crowd reminds me of a backyard get together at my house. I'm not sure how roust this place gets late at night, but I'm sure the vibe is fun. I think Chapel is a great place! I never make it down as much as I would like but given the warm weather I had a strong craving for a frozen drink and I kept seeing their frose's on their instagram being offered for a little longer so I wanted to make sure I went while they still had them. I ended up meeting up with a friend, and I ordered a frose which was served in cute glass bottle, and followed that up with a Glass slipper. Both drinks were great, the glass slipper tasted like apple juice with a kick. Best of all is their ambiance, it was a friday after work, so there were plenty of seats to choose from. My favorite is the one right in the middle facing the patio and Virginia. I think this was a great choice to unwind, and the service was nice. read more
One of my favorite cocktail bars in Reno! I definitely enjoyed going here on a week night, as you get to be able to sit at the bar and get a tarot card and really embrace a speakeasy vibe more so than on weekend where I have had it take much longer to get drinks. With that being said each drink I've ever had here has never disappointed!! They are all crafted to perfection so I'd rather the bartenders take their time in crafting the cocktails. Their menus rotate with the seasons too to always keep things spicy . read more
