It's been years since I have been here but this spot maintains its eclectic feel and crafty cocktails. Popular bar with nice food options around ( next door and walking distance) We came for the particular food truck tonight and also grabbed a cocktail. Glad to see they are busy and business seems good. A great meet up spot and events happening regularly. Recommend you stop in and enjoy this fun bar and talk to some nice locals!

A long time go to favorite for cocktails. Whether it's date night or party night, you can't go wrong. Old Victorian vibe, fast service, fresh fruit in drinks. Toss it back and stay a while.

No food but the most amazing drinks! Marcos made us a 10/10 Gordon's cup that was so refreshing! He provided the best service and was so friendly! Will be back to see him again! The ambiance was perfect for a night out!

Bar 1864 is in Midtown, just off California Avenue, and within walking distance of plenty of other bars and restaurants. The space mixes Victorian style with an old saloon feel, filled with vintage touches and cozy seating. There are comfortable couches and lots of room at the bar. Every time we've been, the service has been excellent. The bartenders are friendly, attentive, and know their craft. They have a great selection of beer and liquor, along with creative house cocktails. The whiskey list is especially impressive, with some unique and hard to find options. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the kind of place where you can settle in for a while. Definitely worth a visit.

After seeing the pics, I wanted to come for the ambiance. As soon as we walked in, the bar tender gave us his attention and we felt welcomed. Which was super cool. We took a drink menu while enjoying the huge comfy couches and then ordered the lavender lemon drop and the clear and present danger, which we both recommend. This place is just so chill and was exactly what I needed after sushi and axe throwing. My advice is come, chill, drink and take a load off...oh yeah, and repeat!

We tried this place on a Saturday night after a recommendation from a friend. Really cool vibe. It had an 1800 vintage feel. All seating is couches or old chairs arranged in small cozy groups. The bar and cocktails were fabulous. We worked with the bartenders on creating different drinks and the cost was reasonable. There is no food available, but we will definitely add it to our cocktail rotation. Great time and a great find.

My favorite dirty gin martini, with an art piece I purchased from a local artist, of a dirty martini.

This is THE cocktail bar of all cocktail bars in Reno NV. I They can make a dirty gin martini better than anyone else in this town. They consistently update their menu. The service is amazing. There's a reason this place is packed every weekend and has a solid group of regulars everyone knows. We love it here

1864 is the classic cocktail bar and one of my favorites in Reno. It's got a chill laid back ambience with neat historical decor and a diverse and unique cocktail menu. It's on the pricier side, but that's part of the charm to come in and sit and enjoy a nice drink while enjoying the company of others. The seating areas are always nice to enjoy conversation in comfort with dim lighting and a quiet backdrop. They have a TV but it wasn't on, and I don't think I've ever seen it on, which I appreciate for a lounge cocktail bar like 1864. The bartenders are always friendly and attentive and I have never waited too long for a drink. 1864 is one of my favorite local bars, glad to finaly get a review in and will be back again soon!

Yummy drinks here!! Came here with a friend day after Election Day. I was questioning my judgement about coming out this evening as drinkis tend to make my friend yell, cry, and call me vile names. Not sure why she insists on talking about things we will never agree on. Luckily the bartender, upon arrival, was telling us and the few patrons, this was a politics free zone! Woo hoo! Interesting old appearing place, even smelled old and damp. I joked with my friend that I didn't know Febreeze made an "old damp" room fragrance. Gotta love a bar with a stuffed buffalo head too! Great drink menu! Had several delectable drinks. Will be back.

Stopped by many afternoons recently for reading clubs, friend chats, trivia nights, or date nights! Every time I am excited about the cocktails and the bartenders are equally happy to help out! My favorite is the Parangat Punch! Which is perfectly sweet but still has that alcohol taste. I always recommend dropping in!

Such a fun laid back bar with good service. Love the atmosphere... old time decor and lighting. Lots of varied comfortable seating options. We chose a comfy leather couch with ample table space. Feels clean and classy, nice spot for conversation and good drinks. And the drinks are GOOD. The egg whites on top were fluffy and added so much to my dessert drink choices. My favorite was the lavender lemon drop... although I would have preferred a bit more lavender flavor it was an excellent and enjoyable drink overall. Will be back!

We had been here a few times before but not recently. The other day, we called to confirm what their website advertised about happy hour because we had a recent bad experience at another place. We were looking for a place to meet up with family for drinks yesterday before they drove back to Truckee and 1864 Tavern ended up being the perfect spot! I went in first by myself while waiting for the others to arrive and immediately felt welcomed by the bartender. Turns out it was Dylan, one of the owners! He was warm, kind, friendly -- completely opposite of the experience we had at the other place we checked out. I love that this place celebrates Nevada and that they try to keep their inventory as local as possible. While waiting for my husband and in-laws to arrive, Dylan offered a couple tasters to me after I told him I am a fan of ciders. I ended up getting the Ace Guava Cider - it was refreshing and delicious! I brought my drink over to one of their comfy couches while waiting for my husband and in-laws to arrive. 1864 Tavern has a an old-timey, Victorian vibe which captures the spirit for which it was named - the year Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Nevada a state. I love that there are several seating areas scattered throughout comprised of couches and chairs facing each other with tables in between for your drinks. Your party will feel like it has a relaxing space to chat while also being part of a bigger, lively environment. We all had a great time - many thanks to Dylan for being so attentive to us all. My husband and I know we will come back soon - there are some creative craft cocktails on their menu that I'd like to try!

Love this spot! Came here on a date and we had hot buttered rum. They specially make their own and I was told it was a secret it was absolutely delicious. We also had a couple other cocktails too. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgable. We had a great time !

It's supposed to be like the old school fireplace lounges the Peppermill restaurants used to have. I don't think there's any Peppermill restaurants around anymore, just this casino. My friend told me all locals get 20% off at any of the restaurants, so that's kinds cool. Inside this lounge, it's really on the dark side and there's lots of soft puffy couches and love seats. If you wanted a dark booth to make out in, this is the place! There's nice seating around the gas fireplace if you want, but those seats go fast on busy nights. I thought the music was kinda loud, but that might just be me. I don't think there's much food served in here, just fancy drinks before the making out starts! They have there monster big bowl drinks to share like a Scorpion, I think full of rum and other stuff. That thing's gonna be a headache in the morning! It was fun staying for a round of drinks, we got one of the darker booths ... you know for making out! Check it out, if you can find the lounge!

What a major local gem in Reno. It only took one visit for…read moreme to become a fan of this coffee shop/bar in Midtown. You can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the place. The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno). Both bars are set up in a way that allows for meeting others and socializing. Check it out. It's a good time. Notes *Catch live jazz music on Wednesdays here for free. *free street & neighborhood parking *bagels & cream cheese available at the coffee shop *they have fun with their seasonal drink specials. I dig it.

Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!
