It was low enough key for us yet still fun, it was packed and we first sat on a corner edge by the fire the only seats open and it was overwhelmingly HOT by the fire even though the ambiance is lovely. We got super lucky when a couple of ladies left before the countdown so we moved to a table. It was still decorated like Christmas inside and it was super cute. We all LOVED our drinks mine was like a boozy (honestly was there even booze in it lol) milkshake and I tried my friends, one was a special holiday drink "sugar plum fairy" which was sweeter and yummy and other friend got a baileys based martini also very yummy. I can't remember exact names but see pics haha. Really made me wanna come back for that milkshake drink sooner than the once a year or every two years I prob make it in here. I'm here inside the Peppermill Casino, somewhere I don't usually come when in Reno. But a local friend wanted to take me to dinner at that fancy Chinese place they have here called Chi. So, after dinner he wanted to take me to this fancy Fireside Lounge for drinks after dinner. It was hella hard to find, but we did finally. It's near the Italian place called Romanza. It's supposed to be like the old school fireplace lounges the Peppermill restaurants used to have. I don't think there's any Peppermill restaurants around anymore, just this casino. My friend told me all locals get 20% off at any of the restaurants, so that's kinds cool. Inside this lounge, it's really on the dark side and there's lots of soft puffy couches and love seats. If you wanted a dark booth to make out in, this is the place! There's nice seating around the gas fireplace if you want, but those seats go fast on busy nights. I thought the music was kinda loud, but that might just be me. I don't think there's much food served in here, just fancy drinks before the making out starts! They have there monster big bowl drinks to share like a Scorpion, I think full of rum and other stuff. That thing's gonna be a headache in the morning! I love the Fireside Lounge at the Peppermill in Las Vegas and this is almost an exact replica! The only differences were no bougainvillea hanging from the ceiling and the velour booths were a dove grey. Great cocktails and very friendly servers. There wasn't an espresso martini on the menu but one of the bartenders heard us talking about them and said, "I can make you one of those!" The fire/water conversation pit is under repair right now, but you have multiple tv screens with 90s music videos. I love this place! I saw that there was a magical winter wonderland taking place at Fireside, this is my out of town families "spot" and so I was super excited to take this in. Wow, every turn and corner was covered with hanging ornaments and decor and the beautiful murals made it so enchanting. The beauty of being off on a Monday during the holidays and catching up with an old friend, this was the perfect cozy spot. They had a special holiday menu, but the one that stood out to me was the Holiday Spritz, this was truly one of the most flavorful Spritz that I have had, I took my time and enjoyed every sip. It was a Monday afternoon so service was attentive and even though we hung out for a couple of hours they were sweet with us. One of my favorite bars! This place is like a time capsule that was sealed in the 70s in the best way possible. From the sunk in the ground couches, all the way to the water fountain with fire that's in the main lounge area. In my opinion, it is a hidden gym. They offer a great selection of drinks and my favorite drink to get there is this giant one called the scorpion which includes the glass cup it came in! The drink is pretty ridiculous because it's 64 ounces and I think the original one comes with ice cream but you can request no ice cream and it is seriously the best cocktail to share with somebody because it includes gummy worms inside of it! I think it's so cool Definitely go check this place out if you're staying at the Peppermill or even by the Peppermill! There's a large fire pit with plush couple-sized couches, surrounding with fun mtv style videos playing on a number of small TVs throughout. The lights are dim and the plush seating throughout provide a super cool 70s style date night. The selection of signature cocktails were really dessert like so although I wanted to try one, I opted for an old fashioned. The old fashioned was really good so I was pleasantly surprised as this is in a casino after all. I did try a sip of my nieces orange creamsicle cocktail and it was tasty and not as sweet as I thought it was going to be. I've only been coming here on occasion, but I'd still recommend this place. The specialty drinks are pretty good but a little pricey. They don't serve food here, but most bars don't anyway. I've never had a problem with the service. Empty glasses have never stayed in the tables for very long, and the drinks are brought out pretty quickly depending on how busy it is. The line itself has a unique feature; the indoor fire "pit." It's located at one end of the bar and is gas powered. There are tvs located around the bar that play music videos while the tvs behind the bar play sports. The booths are very large can usually accommodate six people. read more

Hidden gem of a bar buried deep inside the Peppermill Casino. Great place to take visitors to and never crowded on weekdays. Drink prices are are of course on the high side but they have a drink called The Scorpion which is actually a bargain at $30 as it comes in a huge glass that you get to take home and has 10 shots! (I assume it's meant to share LOL or you better be staying there or Ubering home.) The really cool thing I like about this place being a Gen X is they play music videos mostly from the 90's on screens located throughout. Service is great and the plush booths and circular seating around the fire are unique. Maybe not a local weekly watering hole but definitely fun to visit once in a while especially with out-of-towners. read more

We loved it here so much, it will be our go to bar! We had a peppermill in marin years ago, so the "lava lounge" as we liked to call it, brought back so many fond memories. Our drinks were delicious, but $18 per is expensive. It's a special occasion cocktail. The ambiance is stunning. We (and others) tried to sit around the fire, but it's too hot. Back in the day, there were Peppermill restaurants (a bit fancier than coffee shops) in Concord and Fresno, CA. Both of them had bars like the Fireside Lounge. The locals regarded them as fun, a bit eccentric, and great gathering spots. There was a lot of sadness when they were closed down. I was so happy to find a similar bar here in Reno! Tucked away in the interior of Peppermill Casino is the Fireside Lounge. There are a couple of entries into this lounge, an open entry way from the Cafe and a close glass door entry off the casino floor. I stumbled upon it after midnight eats at Cafe Milagro. However there is very little signage for this place. It makes me wonder if the lounge is meant to be a not so hidden secret. Ohhhh. Step right in. It is dark with low lighting and neon. It has a signature bar. Interior decor of 1980s. This setup reminded me of the old school Peppermill bar lounges that were in most cities (before year 2000), but those days have past. There are sit down tables, bar counter... and there are step down round lounge sitting areas with backlit water enclosed fire pits. Cool place to grab a cocktail and relax away from the gambling floor by yourself, with a significant other, or a group. But for due hard gamblers, the bar counter does have electronic gambling terminals. Try one of their many signature cocktails. Pricing is of course higher than the average Reno bar. And the seating is communal and smoking is of corse allowed. read more

As guests of the Peppermill we received a 2 for 1 coupon for Fireside. It was our first time ever checking this place out and it was nice. It wasn't crowded, which made it better. We ordered our drinks at the bar then was able to sit by the fire pit that had a waitress who would come and check on you. Drinks were normally priced for a casino bar/lounge. Their ultimate mudslide was DELICIOUS! Tasted just like a milkshake, yummm! There is also 2 60oz drinks that are $30 each and you can keep the glass. We will be back to try one of those. read more

Why is there a lack of consistency for customers of color vs other customers? Von is rude and has lack of customer service. I asked for a drink and he says to me "I'll be with you because I'm just getting here". So I sat down waiting for him to get set up and he never can over to get my order, but he served 6 other walk in customers while I waited. The facility management team contacted me to discuss the details. After a synergy meeting and discussing the resolution to a better communication strategy we can to an agreement. Yes, I revisited Fireside Lounge the next day. The service and communication was extremely better. Peppermill Leadership Team, thanks for acknowledging my concerns and addressing the issue. I'll definitely will be returning to this venue. I went to the bar to a waitress that came in afterwards and asked if anyone comes to the table to take the orders and she said "Yes". I gave her my drink order and when she dropped off the drink she asked for us to pay directly. I understand that the practice, but I've watched min. 5 other customers not pay or present a credit card at the time the drinks were delivered. Just be consistent because ALL money is GREEN! read more
