I popped into the Lounge a while ago for happy hour. The space is really big inside, and could accommodate several groups of 8-10, sitting in the couches and hanging out together. I was there at the bar with one friend. Our bartender was very nice, and offered good wine recommendations. Their kitchen is in the back and when I was there they were only offering cold dishes, that seemed pre-made. I had the deviled eggs and they were good. I hadn't been here in awhile, reason being I wasn't impressed with the service. However, I have a complete change of heart. We had a friend's birthday party and we didn't call them to let them know we had 20 people coming for the celebration. The owners welcomed us with smiles and were happy to make our visit memorable. Well it's been a year since I have visited family in Reno. I was very excited to return to the Lounge for drinks and appetizers. If you read my first review I started off with Josh the bartender being a bit standoffish. But eventually Warmed up to us, same with the owner Patti on the harsh side but then mellowed out. First review I was kind to staff there were several groups in at the time but we were being ignored so I showed them some grace and eventually our experience went smooth. But it definitely was not welcoming I had to work for it but all worked out in the end and we had good conversation, food and drinks. Not so much this time. Today my sister in law and I walked in. There was one table of maybe 5 people and a few singles. Not busy at all. We sat at the bar and had to wait a bit. I thought I recognized the owner and as she walked by me I said hi are you the owner and she replied in a harsh tone YES And continued on her way. The bartender finally came to us and we ordered. I told him we had been here one year ago and that he had made me a particular type of drink. It was Clear He had no interest in having a conversation or Connection with me. The feeling we both got was that we were not appreciated as patrons at all. The bartender even sat next to another customer at the end of the bar because it was so slow and I had to ask him for another drink as opposed to him seeing we needed one. We were the only four at the bar. So here is the deal. There are countless cocktail lounges in Reno. If you are an establishment that does not care if I'm there or not then I will go somewhere else. I'm not asking you to kiss my but I don't want the atmosphere to be tense and feel like I'm a bother. The owner Pattie did not even take the time to check In With us especially after I Asked if she was the owner. Not even a hey lady I'm Busy and don't have time for you. Check my reviews and you will see I Am very fair. We won't be returning to the Lounge. A very disappointing experience today. I gave Two stars because the cocktails were good. Edit: Pattie, the owner, reached out to me via DM. I understand Hospitality is a demanding and difficult business. Mishaps and misunderstandings are going to happen, it's the nature of the beast, but it's how you respond to those matters that will tell the tale. If you read my reviews you will see that I do revisit and review accordingly based on responses I have received from owners and management. I am not even sure how this place has a 4 stars. My husband and I stopped here on our way home from our anniversary night since it was close to home, and man, was this place entertaining. When we first walked in, I was punched in the face with very strong-smelling essential oils... interesting but fine, better than musty or dirty smell, but definitely overkill. We didn't notice a sign on a set of seats that said it was reserved, and a gentleman at the bar turned around and said it was reserved for his family... ok fine, no big deal. We moved, and after an hour and a half, no family showed up, and there was only 30 min left before closing.... The bartender was friendly but had to deliver a bottle of champagne to a couple that were on a date per the request of the same gentleman at the bar. Pretty sure it was made for just the lady since she came back into the bar by herself after leaving with her date. Awkward but entertaining to watch. The decor seems very "spa" like but the music is loud and there are sports on all the TVs. It just feels like they don't really know what they want to be so they are covering it all. Its for sure unique and if there is literally nowhere else to have a drink in south reno you are fine. read more

Wow! What a wonderful find in our area. Located over in the same plaza as Smith's in the corner. From the outside you'd think it might be a dive bar, but you would be sorely mistaken. They have some high top table areas, seating area for 10 in a wine room, a bunch of couch seating areas, and lots of seats at the bar. Open the door and get ready to enjoy drinks and food. They have a fantastic menu of appetizers plus flatbreads and sandwiches. The drink menu is just as impressive with mixed drinks, beer, and a fantastic wine menu. Bonus, they have two in-house sommeliers that will not steer you wrong. I will definitely go back to this place many times. You wouldn't know it from the outside but this place is cozy. It has bar seating and a good number of oversized chairs and some couches which are good for snuggling with your date. Food is good...we had the BLT flatbread and Reuben both tasty. Another cool thing is that you will find the owner Patty around and she makes the food. Visited Lounge on Wed evening for their wine special of free tasting of two wines which were quite good and well presented by the bar keeper ( whose name I failed to get). As usual, staff is always friendly and knowledgeable on wines etc. last night we had a great time sipping wine, playing a board game and nibbling on the delicious deviled eggs they make. The drinks were great! We got the Volsted and bf got the great gatsby old fashioned and a beer. We were surprised to see DT beer on tap! It's located inside a strip mall which I did not expect but the inside transports you to a legit lounge bar similar to one you'd find in a major city. We also got the Apple desert type flatbread app which was yummy! Service was extremely slow on a Friday night as only one person seemed to be working the entire place (including the bar!). I've been here a few times already since they've opened and I used to have mixed feelings about Lounge; however, this last experience was quite pleasant. I met someone here and service from Josh was top notch. I asked for a gin martini and it was amazing. I think he used Gray Whale gin, which I've never had. He was super friendly then offered us a nice white wine that he was hyping up, we agreed and ordered a bottle. They were out of their deviled eggs on the menu but we ordered the gorgonzola and walnut flat bread and that was pretty good. Wanted to find a sports-bar in South Reno to watch Chiefs v Eagles 11/20, but still be able to have a regular conversation without shouting over noise. This place has a nice feel to it - an upscale sports-bar without being pretentious. The highlight is the bartender, who is also a wine sommelier. We ordered a veggie flatbread and artichoke dip for appetizers - he recommended the rose to go with them. Wow! A sip before food, not impressed; after taking bite, amazing how it changed the flavor! The place has plenty of parking and there's nothing else with the same ambiance in South Reno. They have a good selection of spirits and even some light food items. Uhm not so sure about this place. I've been only one times before. Long before Covid. I know that has changed A LOT of things in the restaurant/business world. Hubby brought me here on a Monday as the sign said open. As noted it's a bit of a strange location, but the interior really is beautiful. I think we got there about 3:30 and walked in to the place all to ourselves. Nobody was behind the bar, we kind of saw half of someone lingering in the back. About 6-7 minutes of just sitting there (also got uninterrupted pictures of the place so that was cool) a lady walked out and asked if she could help us. It was the most unwelcome greeting I've had in a long time. I asked if they had butterscotch schnapps as that is what I was craving, they do not so I just ordered a white Russian as a martini. My husband ordered a Shirley temple as he is not a big drinker. She like half laughed/scoffed at him in the rudest way when he ordered that. I was pretty angry when she did that and felt like leaving right then and there. Not to mention sounded like she had been coughing in the back room before coming out. However she then ended up asking me if I would like vanilla vodka in my drink and I said yes. I thought that was nice she asked. She made our drinks and we ordered a pepperoni flat bread. Seems she may have been the only worker as she went in the back and stayed there, all the while coughing more which really stressed me out. Wondering if she was tainting our food honestly, hate to think like that but the vibe we got was not good. While drinking my drink it was okay I kind of didn't like it but it was drinkable, I noted to my husband that it tasted a little too much like a coffee espresso drink and that I had never had a White Russian that tasted like that - maybe the vanilla vodka had thrown it off. Of note, I do not drink coffee I don't like it. The pizza then came out looking delicious, And it was. It was very very good with lots of pepperoni that had a great kick to it. Once we finished that we were ready to go. Nobody else had come in yet and it was just very awkward. She warmed up s bit knowing we were leaving and asked how my drink was, I said it was good - she pulled out a bottle and said "I used this instead of kahlua" - it was espresso liquor. It was strange to me that she asked if vanilla vodka was ok but didn't ask if his espresso liquor was ok. I would have said no to that. Cry face. Anyhow I think she was happy to see us go and we were happy to go. The reason for 3 stars is the flatbread and the atmosphere/decor. Seems like it could be an amazing place, we may try it on a weekend night instead of when nobody else is there but I also was pretty turned off by the whole experience, however again i do know things are weird. I'm not sure if that was the owner we encountered. I came upon a review about a year ago that touched on same thing as me, a very unwelcoming feeling. Very strange as that initial interaction set the tone, would have been nice if she had come out introduced Herself and acted like she cared. :( read more

I don't understand their snoodiness. Then I gave the guy a $9 tip on a $29 tab, and he rolled his eyes at me for asking for $5 change. What does he expect, a $14 tip for ignoring me? I've been to this location many times and as it turns out, this is my first review. I have to be honest, that's what you expect, as do I. I travel around a bit and often bring my own wine, and happily pay a corkage fee, no matter the rate. It's a win-win in my opinion. I was surprised to learn that the owner actually dislikes when folks bring their own wine in. I get it, most of the other restaurants/ wine bars probably don't like it either but isn't that what the corkage fee is for?? I have a particular brand I favor along with being part of a wine club... anyway if you don't want to accept bringing your own wine in, just say so up front rather than "surprising" your guests with your "feelings". The owner shared with me they "don't like it when people bring in their own wine". Point taken. I left a 20% tip, ordered the most expensive item on the menu and was very pleasant. However it is unlikely that I will return to this venue. There are plenty of other places where I can enjoy my wine, pay a fair price, and not be bothered about it. Good day to you! read more

The food is always good and for a cocktail bar they have a decent selection. Patti and Josh have always been friendly to everyone whenever we have been there, adding to the open and friendly atmosphere there. I've been here on several occasions for different events. My first venture to the Lounge was for Nancy's GNO, a fantastic night is their private wine room. Just the right amount of space and quiet area for the crowd. Again another event in the wine room was with local wine enthusiasts, and again great service and perfect for our group. Lately on Sunday afternoons our group is playing DJ Trivia. Now we are in the main lounge area, which is comfy with several small furniture groupings. The variety of wines by the glass and bottle are great. There is a page of craft cocktails in the menu and usually a few specials posted on the board at the bar. Nicely, there is a menu of small plate snacks to share and accompany your drink choice. In the main lounge there is a stack of games available to play while hanging out. Was on the lookout for drinks and appetizers, Lounge was recommended highly by a friend. They have a nice menu with different drink options, as well as a simple appetizer menu. The lighting is low, the atmosphere is mellow & easy for conversation. The seating includes the bar, as well as couches arranged to accommodate either couples or larger parties around a table. They also have a small assortment of board games (cribbage, chess & a few others). This would be a great place to even bring your own board game to play. We started with a couple of their Manhattans - which were perfectly delicious. The charcuterie tray included a very nice selection of meats & cheese, as well as olives & macadamia nuts - it was perfect. The caprese salad was fresh & very good! The bartender suggested Old Fashions for our second beverages, also perfectly delicious! The bartender was very friendly, engaging & offered great suggestions. I happened upon The Lounge after a long day of work in Tahoe on the way to Reno. Was welcomed in by friends of the bar that shared very sweet hospitality.
