Well - sorry, no photos... but what awesome service! My friend and I went for lunch yesterday. We did not realize we were going to order the same exact salad!!! We had the BLAT Salad! It was served over iceberg and had a bit of Blue Cheese dressing. We agreed... it was a nice portion and super yummy! We were in a hurry - but next time, we are going to go for a more relaxing meal. The service was excellent! Aside from our very nice female server, we were checked on by no less than three other server. Good food. Nice booths. Immensely disappointed with the service here on a week night. After a long road trip from Las Vegas, NV; we wanted a delicious meal in a chill vibe. Well, that totally did NOT happen. Service was deplorable - we literally had to ask where the F&CK our server was!!! When the older White woman showed up - NO apology & she was condescending & insincere. I haven't been here in a very long time. Partly because it is way down in south Reno and it just hasn't been on my radar. We have resurrected "double-date night" with some good friends and we take turns picking a place to eat. This time it was my best beloved's choice. He, without hesitation, suggested Twisted Fork - equally out of the way for both couples. It was worth the drive down there. We had a nice booth up and away from the main floor which made for a little more intimate dining. Tiffany took very good care of us from start to finish. Drink orders were taken while we looked through the menu. Some of the items I praised were still on the menu. I decided this time around to have the Ricotta Ravioli. The portions for all of our meals were very generous. The two guys had the Sole Piccata and my girlfriend had the Short Ribs. We all were satisfied and went away with leftovers and full bellies. It is a bit pricy, but the quality of the food makes it acceptable. There are a lot of options. The chimmichurri sauce on the flank steak was so flavorful and fresh. The vegetables and potatoes were seasoned perfectly and a nice combination of flavors. The service was professional, proficient and personable. The ambiance is modernity decorated with a flare for elegance yet accepting of casual. Families are welcome. I've visited Twisted Fork twice now and the food doesn't disappoint both times. Although I have yet to patronize this restaurant for other than a work gathering, if I am in the area and looking for a spot to eat, Twisted Fork would be high on the list. Airy and bright atmosphere, lots of windows and outdoor patio seating on those nice days. I tried the grilled cheese with short rib and homemade chips. The ribs were tender and the sauce savory. It was a little light on the cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich. I expected a pull of cheese when biting it but it was more like a splattering of shredded cheese on the short ribs. Flavorful overall and the bread toasty. My coworker had the Twisted Bahn Mi vietnamese sandwich. Now we are both from Northern CA and had plenty of vietnamese sandwiches there but let's do a side by side. Starting with the bread. Twisted version was a softer hogie kind of roll. Where traditional viet sandwiches use a baguette roll with a crispy outer crust and firm inside. The meat. Twisted version had shredded pork, more like pulled pork. It was slathered in a korean style sauce. Traditional viet sandwiches typically use grilled meats without any sauces. The condiments. This is where both Twisted and traditional are similar and different. Shredded carrots, daikon radish, cilantro, mint leaves are similar. What's different is the heavy use of shiracha aioli in the Twisted and traditional using pork liver pâté with mayo. So am I saying the Twisted Bahn Mi is bad? No, just stating it is not the same as traditional Bahn Mi and better to know than to be surprised. Would I order it, no because I an used to traditional. The grilled pork belly and bacon mac and cheese appetizers were great! I would consider those two as my entree! If you are in the area, give Twisted a try. read more

Went yesterday for a late lunch with my friend at The Twisted Fork. The food was amazing. We shared an artichoke ( 4 hearts). One of my top rated and most recommended in Reno. Hubby and I decided to pop in for lunch around 12:30 on a Friday afternoon We shared the Wagyu Meatballs which are a total favorite! The sauce is rich without being too heavy and the meatballs are so juicy and delicious. It comes with bread for dipping and I love the crispiness against the warm sauce. I ordered the apple and fig chicken sandwich which was bomb! The chicken was the best part! But it had arugula, red onions and apples, both red and green. The fig mustard and Brie were amazing. This is one of the best sandwiches I've had. I also got clam chowder as my side which was also really good, not too salty. The service was really great! Any of the servers who saw we had empty glasses refilled them or cleared plates. There is a beautiful outdoor patio area, it was about a 30 minute wait. Definitely time to change up their menu. It's the same old, same old, as it has been for so many years. Tired and boring. We went in to have a cocktail and something to eat, but we decided to go somewhere else once we saw that nothing had changed. Which is a shame since it's a nice place and really close to our home. My husband and I tried Twisted fork after a late night shopping outing at RC Willy's. We were nearing closing time, but the restaurant still greeted us and found us a seat even on a decently busy Saturday night. Service was great this night & we received fresh warm French bread with butter and waters upon sitting down. Glancing at the menu, I couldn't help notice a new item I hadn't seen before, the saffron shrimp and blue crab risotto with peas, and green onions on the dinner menu. It was just what I was craving on this cold still snowy February night and being quite hungry, we decided to opt for the dinner menu and both ordered this dish instead of the smaller large bites , which I'm a fan of several of the items on this menu, particularly the shrimp tamal. They were out of soup this night so we opted for the Caesar salad salad that came with the dinner. The Caesar was fresh and light with a hint of lemon and we both gobbled it down. Outcame the colorful risotto with its saffron yellowish red-orange color and my husband quickly realized he didn't see the word saffron on the menu and thought it would be more of a creamier type risotto. This unique dish was flavorful and good, and I'm not sure what I was expecting because the description did fit exactly what we got, but the risotto was a bit too al dente for our taste and the shrimp and blue crab were a bit underwhelming in the dish. The shrimp were on the small side and we really couldn't see the blue crab at all to be honest, but you still did get the flavor so I'm certain it was mixed in. This was a very filling dish, so it did its job this night and we both had leftovers we took home. I'm not sure I would get the dish again, but it was a nice addition to the menu as I always like to see menus being updated and revised. We were too full for dessert so this ended our evening but shout out again to the great service and always being a reliable restaurant that has a lot of good options when you're in the area. read more

Delicious food and clean environment. It was not too busy, which was convenient. Service was pretty good and I was checked-in on often. I ordered the bread pudding, but was served the brownie. I will have to come back to try it! Additionally, the hostess placed me in a corner in the back of the restaurant. I had come straight from work and wasn't dressed to the nines as such, but perhaps they thought I wanted space from all the hustle and bustle. Though, I was able to hear back of house staff complaints about night/day shift and cleaning, which I personally did not mind much, but other customers might. Steak was delicious and a good portion for the price. The teriyaki glaze balanced out the spiciness of the wasabi and other spices well. It was cooked correctly and tender. I've reviewed them before, but not for brunch. I was leery of Mothers Day brunch, for obvious reasons. Nevertheless made a reservation for 11:15 and took our chances. Got there on time - it was packed! But they took us right away, despite the fact that I'l forgotten to notify them that one of our party was in a wheelchair, and they had to switch their plans from a booth to a table. Service was excellent; Our waitress was attentive w/o being intrusive and made sure we were well taken care of. There was a special MD brunch menu, and my wife and I both had the most incredible seafood omelet with shrimp, lobster, scallops, and and amazing sauce. My daughter had the Aztec Shrimp Tamal, which is always good. Dessert menu was amazing but no room! I dont think I've ever had dessert there cuz their portions are so large. Ambiance? It's a big space, and was full, but noise levels were not so bad. One thing I noticed - none of the staff, managers, waitstaff, bus staff, walk. They go FAST. This is one of my most recommend restaurants to anyone who comes to the Reno Nevada area. The happy hour drinks and menu are fantastic, it also has great options for lunch and dinner! Happy hour was a pleasant surprise! Twisted Fork has happy hour from 3:30- 5:00 daily except major holidays. We were seated at a booth which had a nice view of the patio and mountains! Service was amazing. Angela was friendly and checked back with us multiple times to make sure we were content. We ordered the beet salad, pork tacos and the bread pudding. Prices were very affordable $10. Each and the portions were just right. The beet salad has arugula, yellow and red beets, goat cheese, candied nuts with an amazing aioli. I also ordered a side of grilled chicken to complement my meal! Delicious!!! Finally decided to try their dinner menu (usually go for happy hour, which is also great) and it didn't disappoint! Their wine selection is great, I got a glass of Malbec for a decent price and that can be hard to find. Our service was decent, she came to check on us after most of our food was already ate. The warm hummus and pita bread was amazing and I enjoyed my BBQ Chicken pizza but did feel like they just threw on the onions at the end. My friend's French dip tasted delicious! My partner and I had a great time dining today, and Nancy was a delightful waitress , friendly and attentive . And even better the Old Fashioned cocktails were delicious. I gave Twisted Fork another shot for happy hour, and I'm glad I did. It's close to the house and I've always liked the vibe, so we came back to see how things felt on a second visit. The place was busy and poppin', which was great to see. This time, the staff absolutely stood out--in the best way. I lost count of how many smiles and "how are you tonight?" moments we got. Everyone seemed to be working hard and actually enjoying it. Huge difference from my last visit and much appreciated. We ordered the Pastor Pork Tacos, Roasted Beets, Cherry Chipotle Crispy Pork Belly, and the Chopped BLTA Salad. The roasted beets were on point--full of flavor and easily the best dish of the group. The pork tacos were tasty and I'd order them again. The BLTA salad was just okay and felt like it needed more dressing. I was most excited for the pork belly, but unfortunately it was the biggest letdown--surprisingly low on flavor and pretty disappointing. Overall, the food was a mixed bag, but the energy and hospitality from the staff really elevated the experience. Arrived here for something new to have for lunch. Hubby had the San Francisco burger and enjoyed it, stated that he really liked the crispy cheese bread that they used. I had the Lemon Prawn Bucatini and it was delicious. It wasn't as lemony as I thought it was going to be, more buttery which I liked. There were plenty of prawns for me and it was a huge serving so I had enough for dinner. Only thing I could recommend would be to have some of that cheesy crisp bread to go along with it to get all the sauce. Staff were super friendly and kept the ice tea glasses full. Inside was open, clean and had plenty of seating areas. Outside had lots of flowers and plants along with a water fountain. It was a beautiful day outside to eat if you wanted to. The service was great. The restaurant itself felt a little run down. We went for brunch on Sunday and ordered the Pacific Omelette, French Dip and the kids pancakes. The omelette was bland and I couldn't find a hint of blue crab in it. The tri tip in the French dip was dry and a little tough. The side of chicken vegetable soup with bacon was very tasty. 3.5** My last review was over 10 years ago, so it's time to update. I moved to south Reno 5 years ago and so I have gone back to twisted fork a handful of times after my not so great experience. One of those times was today for lunch, having mostly been for happy hour. Sat outside on a nice patio, the chairs are padded and comfortable but very loud scraping across the ground. Good shade on a hot summer day. Met two girlfriends there who each got salad with extra dressing, but the extra dressing had to be asked for after being served. I got the pastor tacos plain with cheese. I also got some type of blackberry mocktail which was very good. That was the highlight! Service was mostly pleasant and she was familiar with gluten free items which I appreciated. My tacos were fine and taste exactly how they have over the years I've had them during happy hour. My rating is mostly because it seems like there's been no change over 10 years. It's more than plain sorta boring atmosphere that brings down my rating. Too traditional or something? It's just my style these days I'm looking for a cool instagrammable spot and not everyone is and that's ok. This works for an older crowd is what it feels like and I am "older" but maybe just don't wanna be. I will return for that drink again and I also wanna try the short rib sandwich. Came here for a much over due girls happy hour date. The wings we order were absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the slaw that they added on top. I also had a well drink and it was up to par. I was a little disappointed with the food selection on the happy hour so we did end up ordering from the regular menu as well. The service was decent. Packed for Mother's Day but service was at a good pace! Started with drinks, very tasty! Ordered my favorite, Chilaquiles on the spicy side. Crunchy chips dripping in yummy sauce egg over easy. We had the most delicious happy hour/dinner at Twisted Fork. We started with the happy hour pastor pork tacos and tamal de champinones-both so good. We then moved on to the flank steak dinner accompanied by broccolini and polenta and a house salad-all delicious. The flank steak was tender, cooked beautifully with a flavorful sauce. The salad had sliced apples, dried cranberries, blue cheese crumbles and a luscious vinaigrette dressing. I came here Friday night with one of my long time friends. We arrived around 5pm, just 30 mins left of their daily happy hour! Casual dining, but upscale dishes. We ordered two martinis, the hummus bruschetta, artichoke salad, and we split the Meyer lemon raviolis. Everything was delicious. I think the artichokes were my favorite. They were perfectly grilled and the lemon aioli was tangy and creamy. It was pretty busy that night and there was a large party seated behind us. We met up with some friends for dinner last night. We made a reservation and when we arrived, we were seated right away. Our Server came to get our drinks order while we settled in and decided on some Appetizers. We ordered the Cherry Chipotle Crispy Pork Belly and Pastor Pork Tacos. Well, the clue should've been that they were listed under Big Small Plates, because they are essentially not really Appetizers. Between the two plates and the Bread Basket I was already halfway full. By the time we ordered and at no fault of our server (we kept talking and not deciding what we were having for dinner), I rushed and ordered the Chicken BBQ Flatbread, since I wasn't that hungry anymore. On my first bite, I knew that I ordered wrong because there were so many other amazing dishes on the menu. For starters, the Chicken was really dry and it was over cooked to where the rest of the ingredients were dry as well. I blame myself for ordering wrong, but I was surprised with this flat bread.
