I'm finally finished with the work location out at the Tahoe Industrial Park out east of Sparks, and me and the crew are headed home. I left my personal car in Reno and we had the rental SUV that will return to Sacramento, and I'll go back to Red Bluff. We decided to have our final field work meal here at Flowing Tide 2, located right on South Meadows Parkway. We all decided on fish and chips and I heard from one local guy, this was the place to go! Parking is easy, but entering into this pub sports bar, this place is DARK! Even after my eyes adjusted, it's pretty dark in here. We sat ourselves and a server was right over. Drink orders were taken and we all had the fish and chips that came with coleslaw as well. The food took a little while to come out, but not too long. Wow, those were some nice looking platters of fish and chips! Each order had 4 pieces of fish and a bunch of chips (fries). The server brought over the malt vinegar even without asking, good service! That fish and fries were super hot, I had to let it cool a little before tasting. The fish was nice and crispy and had good and well cooked fish inside that coating. The fries were normal. No mushy peas like in England ... not that I wanted that! I'll say this is a great place to get fish and chips. The burgers coming out looked good as well. There's gambling at the bar with poker machines if you wanted that. We all liked our food and now I'm finally headed home. read more

Excellent happy hour deals and for a longer duration. It is from 2-6 pm each day and there is a second one as well. The beers and well drinks are half off. And there is a good beer selection including Revision beers! The happy hour food prices are great as well and the portion is still large, like the happy hour nachos. That's one of my husband's favorite things to get. There are also other deals like kids eat free with an adult meal on Wednesday. It just makes going out more reasonable. We usually have good service, that is relatively quick. We had a couple experiences where it was slow when they were busy. It seems like at some of those times, someone goes on break and it's hard for others to cover. All of the Flowing Tides are dark and I know that's there thing but that's my critique on the ambiance that I wish it was more light. read more

Every time I come to flowing tide for lunch it never disappoints. I ordered a mandarin chicken salad I feel like this is the second time that I've ordered this and I absolutely love it. Pleasantly surprised at the food quality here. I thought it was just regular bar food, but they have a good variety to choose from. I got the seafood pan roast and it was delicious. I came for lunch with coworkers, and the staff was friendly and attentive. My coworker ordered the fish and chips and the plate was HUGE! It came with four fried fish. Changed it up a little and had the Steamed Clams and a Salad. The Steamed Clams were very tasty, but very small. It was a little disappointing, but I guess they tried to compensate by giving more (I counted 21). I still prefer the bigger ones though. The Side Salad tasted fresh and much bigger than I was expecting. All together, I was actually pretty satisfied with my food. Mercedes was our server and she did a great job taking care of us. 4/12/25 So we came with a large group. We had 9 of us Friends . Jayla S our server was amazing with our large group , very Attentive and on top of whatever we needed. I ordered a Michelada., Tide Bourbon Burger W/ Garlic fries . We also had some jalapeño poppers for appetizer. My beer was delish. My Burger was good , i have had better on other times but still delish I ate the whole thing. Garlic fries were on point. Crisp and plenty of garlic. Went here last night for dinner. As usual, great service and a great atmosphere. I had their Taco Salad for the first time and it was delicious. If you're a veteran (Marine Corps!), they give you a 10% discount. On top of that, if you sign up for their rewards program, you get $10 off every time you hit 100 points. They also have two happy hours a day. One starting at 2pm and the other at 10pm. Their prices on everything are just right. I highly recommend this Flowing Tide in South Reno. read more

Although, if you or your kids have strong food allergies, your food selection will be limited. They fry everything in soy bean oil (which is difficult for those with soy allergy). They use the same grill for all foods, which is not good for cross-contamination. Service from the waitress was very friendly. Food came out very fast. Wish it was as good as it sounded. Tacos tasted old (tortillas specifically), potstickers were meh at best. I'd like to say the drink saved the meal but cannot because it was so sweet. Won't be back On top of that, I had a "rocks bump" on my drink order. Asked what that was and she told me it was for the ice!!!!! WTF?! I did not ask for nor was I given an option for ice and I did not request extra ice. Ok, wow, based on the outside signage I was expecting kind of a dumpy dive bar but this may be my new go-to for dates with my husband! We were eyeing the happy hour prices for dinner out as a family sometime too (I noticed they had kid items on the breakfast menu so I'm assuming kids are allowed to dine at other times as well). The atmosphere is surprisingly upscale for what I was anticipating and tastefully done to the ship theme. The service was great, the drinks were tasty (the waitress was kind enough to relay a taste preference to the bartender and the bartender delivered on my desired "sweet and creamy" coffee drink). The price was fair (especially given the recent egg shortage which has doubled the price of eggs recently!), and the breakfast got the job done. I'd be curious to try the French toast next time and/or request some avocado and lemons with my eggs Benedict next time (I prefer when the hollandaise sauce has a note of lemon). I will say that they could revise their lunch/dinner menus. Those menus are consistent with the dive bar vibes of the outside signage, they could really elevate the vibe by making their menus more classy looking (not in terms of what food is offered, but just the coloring and images of the menu). We came in around 8:00 pm. I ordered a salmon dinner and my friend had a French dip. Our lovely server was Violet. The food came out fast. Service was outstanding and the Salmon and herb rice dinner was a Five Star Meal. The ambiance and decor were so cool. Amazing wall mutuals of ships and serpents and a pool table too! I also loved the lighthouse behind the beautiful bar. The prices were amazing. The food was so good I went to thank the Chefs, the servers and the Manager. I will come back soon and bring my family. Sooo good! I am a big time lover of the Tide! The Fish & Chips are my absolute favvv! Had a wonderful evening with friends all while listening to their sweet little son speak the entire time even after we told him kids are to be seen and not heard. I've been to a few Flowing Tides over the years and they're usually pretty good but some GI issues limit my dietary options from time to time. It's a good month for me so it opened up a lot of options. We had some trouble deciding what we wanted so we ultimately chose to "build our own buffet" and ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, the Pot Roast and the Shrimp Acapulco. I miss red meat! A good pot roast can be like a choir singing.. Penne Sunsetta is a delicious and reliably safe dish but you can only eat it so many times. I'll start on the positive first. The pot roast was divine. The menu touts a tender pot roast with a mushroom burgundy wine sauce. I took half of the mashed potatoes which was also covered with this gravy. Maybe I just got lucky but i got the creamiest mashed potatoes. The not so great - the Shrimp Cocktail had great potential. The menu said it came with five prawns, avocado and cucumber in cocktail sauce. It did come with a large cup of cocktail sauce mixed with cucumber pieces but there was something off about them. They tasted bitter and I think they were missing their middles, mostly thick peels. The shrimp were big and flavorful. There was half an avocado sliced and placed on top almost whole. The sauce was tasty but since it's mostly sauce and cucumber it did feel like it was mostly garnish. The bad. The Shrimp Acapulco says on the menu it has garlic butter, sautéed shrimp, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, & parmesan cheese on a bed of fettuccine. We swapped out the fettuccine for linguine. It came in what looked like a tomato based juice. If there was butter, it was not enough to overcome the water that it was in. There was a slight amount of the whites of green onions, no Cilantro that I could confirm with certainty, no parmesan and slight bits of tomato. The worst was that it had a lot of heat, incredibly spicy! Nothing in the ingredients listed should have made it that way. I did see some red pepper flakes but as a garnish they should have been easy to pick out (and they were not on the menu) but even those weren't plentiful. It was perplexing but more so disappointing because I avoid spicy. The months of consequences I can potentially endure from even a bite or two is why I scrutinize the menu so well. My friend attempted to eat it but it was almost too hot for her as well and she doesn't mind a bit of heat. She would have taken it home and eaten it but I think the waitress misunderstood that when I asked for the penne, it wasn't going to be instead of but in addition to and when I ordered the penne, she took the shrimp away. Meanwhile, I was only eating the mashed potatoes and the pot roast. The whipped potatoes that came with the pot roast along with the gravy was almost decadent but my friend had taken half. I really wanted more so I ordered a side of potatoes expecting the same potatoes and gravy. When the potatoes arrived, I covered half in the accompanying gravy but found out too late that the gravy and the potatoes were not the same. These potatoes had skins (I can't eat skins either, I know. I'm not much fun!) but also the gravy was thin, a lighter brown and had almost no flavor. My friend tasted it too and agreed, it was relatively flavorless. I asked our poor server for the gravy that came with the pot roast instead and she returned to tell me (obviously via the kitchen) that it was the same gravy. So if you do go, get the pot roast and ask for extra potatoes when you order. Those do not have peels and red wine gravy is rich, thick, flavorful and you can't go wrong with extra potatoes with the pot roast. Apparently as a side, you can't go home again. I love giving local businesses 5 stars and I really wish I could this time. Our server was incredible, friendly and very patient with our issues. It's the possible health or allergic consequences of unknown ingredients that takes this location down to 3. And if it's garnishes, the need to give it "color" or just a rogue cook playing fast and loose with a recipe...hopefully they will work on that. read more

If you didn't know it, Monday's are Fish and Chips special days. Priced regularly at $15.99, Monday's it's just $11.99! I'm here with a friend and we both get the fish and chips! Service is fast and efficient and brings us the malt vinegar without asking! It's a bit dark in most of this place but we find a table under a ceiling light. ... for the pics, ya know! Food arrived quickly and was served with coleslaw and fries. The fish was 4 medium sized pieces. I think I might ask for an additional piece of fish next time .... cooked all crispy and hot as were the fries. After we ordered our 4th bite, Nicole warned us that was way too much food. And we are light eaters. So we canceled 2 of our 4 bites and still had left overs. Nicole is amazing! They also have a player's card, if you are interested in gambling. Price - $22 + generous tip. This is one of our best and least expensive meals in a VERY long time! An interesting place that is both a restaurant with pretty good food and a full on bar. The young crowd was in the bar area and the older crowd was on the other side enjoying dinner with the number of families there as well. The service it was great. I wish I remembered the name of my server. A couple of downsides... 1. When I got there, they were three guys standing outside the front door smoking. 2. There was no greeter when I walked in. Our daughter recommended this place to us. My husband and I brought my Mom. We ordered the Pot Roast, Fish & Chips, and Blackened Salmon dinners. Portions were good size and we all enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was sweet and very attentive, service was on point. Ambiance was a Pub atmosphere so a little noisy but typical for how busy they are. We love coming to this Flowing Tide. They are very consistent. A friend of mine went to another one. It wasn't the same she said. We had their happy hour and an additional side salad. Their white balsamic vinaigrette is bomb! And she brought a variety of sauces for our happy hour chicken. Their happy hour wings are super delicious also. Yvette, our server is very attentive and friendly. She brought us a variety of sauces, which was super nice. Very family friendly. They have a pool table.
