I'm finally finished with the work location out at the Tahoe Industrial Park out east of Sparks, and me and the crew are headed home. I left my personal car in Reno and we had the rental SUV that will return to Sacramento, and I'll go back to Red Bluff. We decided to have our final field work meal here at Flowing Tide 2, located right on South Meadows Parkway. We all decided on fish and chips and I heard from one local guy, this was the place to go! Parking is easy, but entering into this pub sports bar, this place is DARK! Even after my eyes adjusted, it's pretty dark in here. We sat ourselves and a server was right over. Drink orders were taken and we all had the fish and chips that came with coleslaw as well. The food took a little while to come out, but not too long. Wow, those were some nice looking platters of fish and chips! Each order had 4 pieces of fish and a bunch of chips (fries). The server brought over the malt vinegar even without asking, good service! That fish and fries were super hot, I had to let it cool a little before tasting. The fish was nice and crispy and had good and well cooked fish inside that coating. The fries were normal. No mushy peas like in England ... not that I wanted that! I'll say this is a great place to get fish and chips. The burgers coming out looked good as well. There's gambling at the bar with poker machines if you wanted that. We all liked our food and now I'm finally headed home.
Excellent happy hour deals and for a longer duration. It is from 2-6 pm each day and there is a second one as well. The beers and well drinks are half off. And there is a good beer selection including Revision beers! The happy hour food prices are great as well and the portion is still large, like the happy hour nachos. That's one of my husband's favorite things to get. There are also other deals like kids eat free with an adult meal on Wednesday. It just makes going out more reasonable. We usually have good service, that is relatively quick. We had a couple experiences where it was slow when they were busy. It seems like at some of those times, someone goes on break and it's hard for others to cover. All of the Flowing Tides are dark and I know that's there thing but that's my critique on the ambiance that I wish it was more light.
Every time I come to flowing tide for lunch it never disappoints. I ordered a mandarin chicken salad I feel like this is the second time that I've ordered this and I absolutely love it. It's a huge fresh salad, that can easily make up two meals with a side of bread. This was a work lunch where our supervisor takes us out for a special luncheon.
Pleasantly surprised at the food quality here. I thought it was just regular bar food, but they have a good variety to choose from. I got the seafood pan roast and it was delicious. I came for lunch with coworkers, and the staff was friendly and attentive. My coworker ordered the fish and chips and the plate was HUGE! It came with four fried fish. I will definitely come back with family. Lots of seating away from the bar. High chairs available for little ones too.
Someone eating there brought me back take out so I can't attest to the service or ambiance. He did however say the place was "hella cool" and reasonably priced. I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich and it came with fries and it did not disappoint. Great portion sizes on both the crispy fries and the sandwich. Huge pieces of shrimp and the bread, MUAH, this sandwich hits! To be honest when I opened up the sandwich it wasn't visually appealing, after trying it it made up for all that. I get take out a lot and 90% of the time I am disappointed but this time I have nothing bad to say.
Came for the late night happy hour without reliving my fishbowl days! Wings with fries for $7, and the service was prompt. Bonus, I like tequila on ice with pineapple, and they have thick pineapple slices! Shout out to Hannah for doing a great job taking care of me! The wings came out crispy and and the tide sauce was like a teriyaki buffalo mix. Let's call it a very mild sweet heat. Steak fries are always an easy go-to and reheat well in the air fryer.
Changed it up a little and had the Steamed Clams and a Salad. The Steamed Clams were very tasty, but very small. It was a little disappointing, but I guess they tried to compensate by giving more (I counted 21). I still prefer the bigger ones though. The Side Salad tasted fresh and much bigger than I was expecting. All together, I was actually pretty satisfied with my food. Mercedes was our server and she did a great job taking care of us. We actually got $10 off our meal today. The Rewards Program is very good here. They also honor Military discounts. We really like how down to earth this place is.
Went here last night for dinner. As usual, great service and a great atmosphere. I had their Taco Salad for the first time and it was delicious. If you're a veteran (Marine Corps!), they give you a 10% discount. On top of that, if you sign up for their rewards program, you get $10 off every time you hit 100 points. They also have two happy hours a day. One starting at 2pm and the other at 10pm. Their prices on everything are just right. I highly recommend this Flowing Tide in South Reno.
The service is typically good at this location and the food is consistent. The cocktails are sometimes iffy. Great place for big groups. Although, if you or your kids have strong food allergies, your food selection will be limited. They fry everything in soy bean oil (which is difficult for those with soy allergy). They use the same grill for all foods, which is not good for cross-contamination. Unfortunately one of our kiddos couldn't get a burger due to a fish allergy and the risk of cross contamination.
We got in took about 15 min to order drinks, plus another 15 to receive them. Another 30 min to order appetizers. They told us we couldn't split checks because they were busy ... there was 3 tables of people and 2 people at the bar wasn't busy at all. Gratuity is automatic , it's not gratuity if it's required to pay it. Time between the waitress checking in was about 10-15 min each time ca. I wouldn't recommend this place if you wanna go out with friends drinks are pretty expensive for a weak cocktail. The waitress at least was funny.
Ok, wow, based on the outside signage I was expecting kind of a dumpy dive bar but this may be my new go-to for dates with my husband! We were eyeing the happy hour prices for dinner out as a family sometime too (I noticed they had kid items on the breakfast menu so I'm assuming kids are allowed to dine at other times as well). The atmosphere is surprisingly upscale for what I was anticipating and tastefully done to the ship theme. The service was great, the drinks were tasty (the waitress was kind enough to relay a taste preference to the bartender and the bartender delivered on my desired "sweet and creamy" coffee drink). The price was fair (especially given the recent egg shortage which has doubled the price of eggs recently!), and the breakfast got the job done. I'd be curious to try the French toast next time and/or request some avocado and lemons with my eggs Benedict next time (I prefer when the hollandaise sauce has a note of lemon). I will say that they could revise their lunch/dinner menus. Those menus are consistent with the dive bar vibes of the outside signage, they could really elevate the vibe by making their menus more classy looking (not in terms of what food is offered, but just the coloring and images of the menu). I can't believe we've lived on this side of town for 3 years and have been missing out all this time because we assumed the place would be dumpy.
Prompt and helpful server but she seemed over-busy or in a hurry. Food was pretty good. I had a bacon blue burger and added grilled onions. My hubs ordered wings. Fair and reasonable prices on most items. I sampled an IPA which was okay, but went with a Dirty Wookie instead. The place was fairly loud inside, but cute and themed for the name with porthole windows.
This is one of our go to spots. Went with some friends that never been and we went at happy hr. 2pm-6pm was great . We got some Chicken tacos and man do they fill them up it was excellent. We also got some chicken tenders & stuffed potatoes too. A little bit of everything to share . Friend got wings and enjoyed , also the Nachos other friend got on happy hr and they are huge think it was even a half order. Service was excellent just didn't get servers name but she was great. We sat in a nice big booth for 6 of us was great. This is a great spot and tons of options . Will keep coming back . Everyone enjoyed there food Enjoy !!!! read more

Thank you Adam!
Combination review of the last two visits since I wanted to see if it would improve, unfortunately it did not. First visit we got cold food and an order with missing items. Our most recent visit service was abnormally slow. The taco special was embarrassing, barely any meat on 2 of the 4. The other two were mediocre at best. I requested an extra shot for my happy hour drink and was charged $8 for an additional drink, not just the extra shot I ordered. We've been here so many times and it is sometimes hit or miss with small issues so I've never had the need to post an update but this last visit forced the issue. I don't know if they were understaffed or just not able to handle the task at hand but they definitely let us down. Not many staff seem to stick around which could also be an issue. Such a disappointment for a long time staple in the area. read more

So came to Reno for bowling and booked a hotel near this restaurant. Looking at the menu the Sandburger got my interested. My son and I walked over (btw they are 24 hours) to see what the hype was all about. The Nachos were delicious but that Sandburger was amazing, idk who thought of putting beef between two grilled cheese, I'm glad they did. Was here after 10pm so appetizers and well drinks were half off and with signing up for the rewards I got an additional $10 off. I really recommend this place very cool atmosphere and the prices are actually reasonable. Service was good!!! read more

We came in around 8:00 pm. I ordered a salmon dinner and my friend had a French dip. Our lovely server was Violet. The food came out fast. Service was outstanding and the Salmon and herb rice dinner was a Five Star Meal. The ambiance and decor were so cool. Amazing wall mutuals of ships and serpents and a pool table too! I also loved the lighthouse behind the beautiful bar. The prices were amazing. The food was so good I went to thank the Chefs, the servers and the Manager. I will come back soon and bring my family. Sooo good! I am a big time lover of the Tide! The Fish & Chips are my absolute favvv! Had a wonderful evening with friends all while listening to their sweet little son speak the entire time even after we told him kids are to be seen and not heard. He didn't care tho, gotta love him anyway! The server gal was nice, just seemed like she may have had a bit of a long night. Ohhh my Michelada was sooo good! It was later in the evening so it was very quiet inside as we were kind of away from others there. read more

If you didn't know it, Monday's are Fish and Chips special days. Priced regularly at $15.99, Monday's it's just $11.99! I'm here with a friend and we both get the fish and chips! Service is fast and efficient and brings us the malt vinegar without asking! It's a bit dark in most of this place but we find a table under a ceiling light. ... for the pics, ya know! Food arrived quickly and was served with coleslaw and fries. The fish was 4 medium sized pieces. I think I might ask for an additional piece of fish next time .... cooked all crispy and hot as were the fries. The price is right on Monday's here at Flowing Tide for the Fish and Chips, I'll come back again. read more
Quality/Quantity - Best happy hour I have been to in a long time! And I go to a lot of happy hours. Happy hour nachos - Generous portions, it was good, had to force myself to finish it all. Also try Smith & River loaded nachos with tri tip's happy hour, see other Yelp review. Happy hour wings with fries - Also generous portions, 6 wings. Many sauces to choose from. We chose the pineapple sweet thai sauce, I think... Their cups of water are also generous, I feel bad as I was not able to finish my water. Must have been like 32 oz. I also got a Revision IPA, supporting the locals. My second beer, their beer of the month - the Kilt Lifter Amber Ale, is one of my favorite beers, especially when in AZ. Also available - 2 happy hour times, daily specials, breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, rotating beers, beer of the month, etc; see pictures. Atmosphere - Great job with all the advertisement on your windows, can't miss the place. See pictures. Pool tables, video gaming, etc. Table, booth, bar seating. TV screens throughout the place for watching sports. Plenty of mall parking. Open at 9am or 10am till close. See my picture of the posted sign. Yelp and their website differ slightly. Service - Please seat yourself. Nicole greeted us RIGHT away as we sat down. Both her and the busboy were amazing. They both made sure we were taken care of. Anything we asked for, they readily and quickly got it for us. We started by ordering beers and HH bites. Did not know how generous their bites were going to be. After we ordered our 4th bite, Nicole warned us that was way too much food. And we are light eaters. So we canceled 2 of our 4 bites and still had left overs. Nicole is amazing! They also have a player's card, if you are interested in gambling. Price - $22 + generous tip. This is one of our best and least expensive meals in a VERY long time! See you soon, and look forward to visiting all your other restaurants. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success with your 9+ locations, and your affiliated restaurants. read more

I've been to a few Flowing Tides over the years and they're usually pretty good but some GI issues limit my dietary options from time to time. It's a good month for me so it opened up a lot of options. We had some trouble deciding what we wanted so we ultimately chose to "build our own buffet" and ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, the Pot Roast and the Shrimp Acapulco. I miss red meat! A good pot roast can be like a choir singing.. Penne Sunsetta is a delicious and reliably safe dish but you can only eat it so many times. I'll start on the positive first. The pot roast was divine. The menu touts a tender pot roast with a mushroom burgundy wine sauce. I took half of the mashed potatoes which was also covered with this gravy. Maybe I just got lucky but i got the creamiest mashed potatoes. The not so great - the Shrimp Cocktail had great potential. The menu said it came with five prawns, avocado and cucumber in cocktail sauce. It did come with a large cup of cocktail sauce mixed with cucumber pieces but there was something off about them. They tasted bitter and I think they were missing their middles, mostly thick peels. The shrimp were big and flavorful. There was half an avocado sliced and placed on top almost whole. The sauce was tasty but since it's mostly sauce and cucumber it did feel like it was mostly garnish. The bad. The Shrimp Acapulco says on the menu it has garlic butter, sautéed shrimp, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, & parmesan cheese on a bed of fettuccine. We swapped out the fettuccine for linguine. It came in what looked like a tomato based juice. If there was butter, it was not enough to overcome the water that it was in. There was a slight amount of the whites of green onions, no Cilantro that I could confirm with certainty, no parmesan and slight bits of tomato. The worst was that it had a lot of heat, incredibly spicy! Nothing in the ingredients listed should have made it that way. I did see some red pepper flakes but as a garnish they should have been easy to pick out (and they were not on the menu) but even those weren't plentiful. It was perplexing but more so disappointing because I avoid spicy. The months of consequences I can potentially endure from even a bite or two is why I scrutinize the menu so well. My friend attempted to eat it but it was almost too hot for her as well and she doesn't mind a bit of heat. She would have taken it home and eaten it but I think the waitress misunderstood that when I asked for the penne, it wasn't going to be instead of but in addition to and when I ordered the penne, she took the shrimp away. Meanwhile, I was only eating the mashed potatoes and the pot roast. The whipped potatoes that came with the pot roast along with the gravy was almost decadent but my friend had taken half. I really wanted more so I ordered a side of potatoes expecting the same potatoes and gravy. When the potatoes arrived, I covered half in the accompanying gravy but found out too late that the gravy and the potatoes were not the same. These potatoes had skins (I can't eat skins either, I know. I'm not much fun!) but also the gravy was thin, a lighter brown and had almost no flavor. My friend tasted it too and agreed, it was relatively flavorless. I asked our poor server for the gravy that came with the pot roast instead and she returned to tell me (obviously via the kitchen) that it was the same gravy. So if you do go, get the pot roast and ask for extra potatoes when you order. Those do not have peels and red wine gravy is rich, thick, flavorful and you can't go wrong with extra potatoes with the pot roast. Apparently as a side, you can't go home again. I love giving local businesses 5 stars and I really wish I could this time. Our server was incredible, friendly and very patient with our issues. It's the possible health or allergic consequences of unknown ingredients that takes this location down to 3. And if it's garnishes, the need to give it "color" or just a rogue cook playing fast and loose with a recipe...hopefully they will work on that. read more

A local chain that has good food. A great selection of salads, pub fare, burgers, fries, etc. If you like to gamble they have a few machines and advertise regular payouts. Service was friendly and fast. Beer was cold. This chain is one of our "go-to's" as they are close and convenient to us. read more

We love coming to this Flowing Tide. They are very consistent. A friend of mine went to another one. It wasn't the same she said. We had their happy hour and an additional side salad. Their white balsamic vinaigrette is bomb! And she brought a variety of sauces for our happy hour chicken. Their happy hour wings are super delicious also. Yvette, our server is very attentive and friendly. She brought us a variety of sauces, which was super nice. Very family friendly. They have a pool table. It is bar lake setting but they do have seating over on the other side of the restaurant for families kids, low tables. check it out.! read more
