Receipt shows fees. I tipped a dollar less since he wasn't great. But feel like I shouldn't have been as nice.

I'm not sure what was more surprising - the hairs on multiple wings or the oversized leg of the pieces , that ruined me. The margarita was a silver lining, but at $18 each, it was a bit of a 'fowl' move . The service was a bit of a 'gamble,' too - I wanted to ask for more Tajin, but didn't come around til I was almost done. We were even charged for a beer that my husband ordered while he was trying his luck gambling. All in all, it was a bit of a 'tough table' to crack . The last straw was being charged a fee for using my card when he failed to notify me beforehand. I could have paid cash if told. Probably wouldn't bother to return. Not much of an ambiance. No music , no tv sound. Hostess with legs ups when we got there. And left with a mess under her chair.

Pretzel Bites

We came to The Spot to watch a basketball game and have some appetizers. Such a nice experience from the atmosphere to the appetizers. The restaurant and bar have great seating and a nice patio! The service was excellent our server and the bartender were on it and so friendly! We ordered the pretzel bites with beer cheese and honey mustard both sauces delicious, the cheese curds so good, and the mango habanero chicken wings were amazing! We will definitely be back!

Can't beat the location on the river. If you're a fan of Revision Brewing and/or Lead Dog Brewing, then you've found your go-to spot. As for the food, well, it's kinda like just some dudes decided to add food to the bar; how had can it be? Well, it's not bad, just nothing you would crave again. Oh, and a medium burger should be slightly pink inside, but this was mostly pink and cool.

The food is very good and very fresh. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs, good flavor and filled me up, perfect amount of food. The service was great very attentive and friendly. My daughter got the breakfast burrit, she said it was very good, carne asada was tender and had good flavor. We also got fries, didn't take a pic, but they are really good cut fresh from potatoes everyday. Cool vibe, great music, nice spacious inside with comfortable seating, great patio seating, with a view of the truckee River.

Chopped wedge salad

We've been here a few times. Location is great. Service staff are very nice. Ordered the Chopped Wedge Salad and special fish sandwich with fries. My wedge salad was a 3.0. Lots of chopped lettuce and raw red onions. Blue cheese was not the best. Had the consistency of feta, but tasted like dry blue cheese. Not a lot of it. Bacon was paper thin. Wedge salad should have thick bacon ( in my opinion). Salad dressing was very thick, but it was good. Ask for extra to cover all that lettuce. Husband had the sandwich and he liked it. The fries were very good. I'd give 3.5 if that was an option.

Stopped by The Spot for some food and drinks and ended up having a really nice evening! They had a one-man band performing while we were there, which gave the place a great vibe , laid-back but lively at the same time. It definitely made the experience feel a bit more special. The service was a little on the slower side, but the staff was friendly and checked in when they could. Once the food came out, it was hot, fresh, and really tasty, you could tell it was made to order. Everything hit the spot (no pun intended). The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming, a good mix of casual and upbeat. Perfect place to grab a bite, enjoy some live music, and relax with friends. I'd definitely go back again, maybe on another night when they have live entertainment!

We hit up The Spot on our last date night out, and had a great meal & made a really fun memory. We just wanted a casual bite, maybe a cocktail, so we headed to The Spot based on recent Yelp reviews. Parking DT is always a hassle, but by no fault of TS. We were able to get a riverside table, and the hostess kept asking if we were sure since it had suddenly clouded over, but we were committed. We had probably The. BEST. calamari I've had outside of the Monterey Bay area & a bulgogi steak sammie to share. Then came the rain. What started as a cutesy, demure little sprinkle turned downpour and yes, we DID agree to sit outside. We tried to tough our way thru it for a while but eventually sought shelter inside, paid our check and literally had to RUN for our car. Boring date night meals don't really make memories, but this one did! We'll def return for Happy Hour and the cocktails we didn't get a chance to try and hopefully another little rain shower for luck!

So second visit to the spot. First visit went pretty great and this time was ALMOST right on the money, but specifically the calamari was totally different from our first visit. I'll keep my rating as it stands as maybe this was an off day or there was some issues with deliveries, but the first time the calamari was crispy and tasty, and even had rings and tentacles. This time the calamari was just what appeared to be more like chunks and was pretty disappointing, but to be fair the other food was all still great. Specifically really enjoyed the cheese curds with a nice cold beer. The patio here also just can not be beaten, this will probably remain my go to for hot summer days, it's a beautiful view and it comes with great service.

I keep coming back! Food never disappoints. Great local beers on tap too. I find myself always sitting at the bar watching football with my husband, but the outdoor patio seating is amazing, right off the river with beautiful views and the sound of the river flowing. Seems like they have a lot of local live music too. Great location and friendly staff. I'll be back at "The Spot" again soon!

Me and my girlfriends ordered a bunch of appetizers and all of them were a hit! Service was great! Our server was hilarious! You also can't beat the view of the river if you sit outside! Great vibes too! Gotta keep these great businesses in downtown open!!

Another nice late night meal at the spot, I can always count on the Spot for late night eats at a great location. The service was great, food came out quickly, and overall it was a wonderful evening!

Burnt Rueben
Teri F.

Food was ok my Rueben bread was burnt and no flavor to meat. When I told waitress and manager they offered to recook but everyone else already started eating so I said no. Waitress on the other hand was nice view was amazing. Cook no bueno.

Carne asada tacos with chips, salsa, and guacamole. No salsa or guacamole, barely any chips, minimal Caramelized onions.

Oh how I wanted to love this place, but it was not a great experience. Let me start by saying I rarely give less than 3 stars. I was so excited to try The Spot because we finally have a more affordable place with river views downtown. I made a reservation for a Thursday night but the patio is first come first serve. We snagged the last patio table and had a wonderful view! They brought a high chair for our baby and things started off great. We ordered some cocktails and beers, took a little longer than expected to have them brought out but no big deal. We ordered an appetizer which came out at an appropriate time. We got the calamari, it was good but a pretty small serving size. Thank goodness we got an appetizer because the experience went downhill from there. We got there at 6:30pm and our food did not come out until 8pm! We finally asked around 7:45 how much longer it would be and they said at least another 10 minutes. The waiter told us they only have one cook in the kitchen, so it's very backed up. This was surprising because the whole patio was full and they had live music, so how could you not be prepared for the dinner crowd with just one cook? We waited an absurd amount of time and ended up spending a full two hours here which was not the plan since we had a baby with us. When the food finally came out, the tacos that came with chips, salsa, and guac according to the menu were laughable. There were literally 5-6 chips on the plate and no salsa or guac. The waiter told us the cook "86'd the guac" meaning it wasn't being served with this dish anymore. We later found out it was because the avocados were still frozen. He did bring out a side of chips and some salsa for me. I got the carne asada tacos, the meat itself was delicious! However, the tacos were pretty sad with not much else on them. There was cilantro but the Caramelized onions that were supposed to come on them were basically invisible, I think I only saw one piece out of all three tacos. Everyone else at the table had great things to say about their food, thankfully. We had guests with us and they were full and satisfied with their meals, when they finally came. I would say all of the blame is on the cook and the horrendous wait times. Our waiter, Riley, was actually great at checking in on us and apologizing for the wait. He helped us try to keep things lighthearted as the wait time progressed, knowing it was out of his control but he still wanted us to have a good experience. If you're going to make your waiters be put in uncomfortable situations like this where they have to be the ones facing the upset customers because of your cook, they deserve a raise. Riley was wonderful and I wish this review rating was able to reflect his service. However, the terrible wait times and the sad dish of food that was brought out for me cannot be more than 2 stars. The excellent river view and affordable prices make me want to come back to give them another try, especially since so many reviews are hit or miss--several 1-2 stars but also many 5 stars. I still don't think I'd risk it if this was my experience on a Thursday, not even a busy weekend. I would come back for drinks on the patio but hope they make some big changes in the kitchen before I try to order food here again.

Food is good. Service is good and friendly. The TVs are not synced so watching a high profile game at The Spot is really frustrating.

Love the quality of the drinks as they absolutely put effort and time making quality drinks with quality ingredients. It's relatively small inside so I can only imagine it could get packed in there. We had several drinks and every single one was perfection! The bathroom is the cutest and they have the coolest speakeasy door that the employees use to get to the back (not for the customers). My rant..I'm not from the area so I had NO idea what this place was when I walked by. It looked cute so my husband, myself and child walked up the steps and they sat outside while I went to check it out and see if this was a bar/club/ restaurant. I walked inside and instantly got the death glare from an employee. I instantly said omg I take it this place isn't kid friendly.. he rudely said no. I wanted to clarify and confirm even outside ? He said no. I apologized and they left but the vibe and way he said it was definitely off putting. My sister and I decided to stay for a drink while my husband/child went to walk around. Usually I don't give bad costumer service a chance.. but I realllllllly wanted a drink that one of those others customers were drinking. If this place had better costumer service. It would be a 5

A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!
