I had a nice dinner with my family to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the sausage trio appetizer which was good but was a little light for $21. I ordered the ribeye steak which was okay, I ordered it well but it came out rare, which isn't the end of the world but not what I ordered. The portion was good but the cut seemed just okay for a premium ribeye, the potatoes were just good but didn't strike me as well seasoned, but I did love the carrots and thought they were delicious. The service was great and the server brought me a free creme brulee for the steak mixup which wasn't the end of the world. Overall, I had a good time, the prices are a touch high and add up quickly, but Wild River Grille is a staple of the Reno Riverwalk and you can't go wrong dropping by.

This review is for the intimate meeting room for a party I attended. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect venue for smaller meetins. Holds 162 people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for a smaller, quieter band.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Room has a dance floor and nice, well stocked bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers were prompt. Food was great and presented nicely.

Had a good lunch at the wild river grille. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Weather was perfect and the restaurant had a good vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just had sandwiches. Kind of pricy but good.

My first time coming here and the service was friendly, with good suggestions for wine pairings. My husband and I split the salmon dish (and we were told there was a $5 charge to split the dish but extra sides would be added). I liked that they added more sides and the size of the fish was perfect after we split it. We each ordered a salad which was also a great size. The kale salad was delicious with a little heat to it, fresh strawberries, and the perfect amount of dressing. We also had room for crème brûlée. Great date night and nice to finally try the Wild River Grille!

I decided to celebrate my birthday with my friends here during their happy hour. We were a little disappointed that their happy hours changed and all their best apps were gone from their happy hour menu. I made a reservation for my group and when we walked in, we asked if we could add another person. The hostess made it seemed like it was inconvenience even though there were multiple tables open. In the end they were able to change our table with no issues. Like usual, the drinks and food we ordered were delicious. Overall a good visit! Disappointed about their happy hours changed.

I was in Reno for two nights, so I had a chance to visit one decent restaurant. I liked what the Wild River Grille had to offer. I ordered a steak and a salad, predictable, I know, sorry. My server, Enrique, was amazing, very professional and courteous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sat outside and had a nice view of the river, it was a pleasant experience overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The steak itself was grilled perfectly and the salad had fresh ingredients and was put together tastefully. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good dinner while in town.

Reservations required! Hubby surprised me and our friends with dinner and it was worth every penny! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat outside on the patio, music playing by a local musician, and the drinks and food were spot on![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]While we went in summer heat, I highly suggest going once the sun goes down behind the taller buildings (we went at 7:45 pm).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff were respectful and my filet mignon was on point. Business casual and a bit pricy, but again, we had a great experience and it was worth every penny!

Brunch is one of my favorite meals and I was so excited to see that Wild River Grille started serving on weekends! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a lovely patio so we chose to sit there. They make sure to have plenty of shade and it's so nice sitting by the river.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with bottomless mimosas and had the Eggs Benedict and wild berry waffles for our entrees. The little potato cakes that accompanied the Benedict were delicious-I'm not really a hash brown fan but loved these! Both entrees were great and our server JJ was outstanding-service is always stellar here. Bonus was a really good band with a jazzy sound started playing at 12:00-so fun!

We made reservations at Wild River Grille to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary on April 8 2026. What a wonderful, wonderful experience! Annalee was SO gracious, friendly and accommodating. I don't order Filet Mignon often, but this Entrée was literally "done to perfection". It was delicious and tender, served with cowboy butter, asparagus, on an amazing parmesan risotto cake. My wife had their New York steak special with "duck fried " Fries and Delta asparagus- SO GOOD. Imagine our surprise when we ordered Bread Pudding for dessert and it arrived at our table emblazoned with a chocolate "Happy Anniversary" decoration wish on the plate! (See photo) All in all, an awesome experience at what has to be one of Reno's premier dining locations! We can't wait to visit again and perhaps dine outdoors on their charming lighted patio on a warm summer evening.

As soon as I walked in to this establishment we were immediately welcomed, however, once we were seated we didn't get as much hospitality. It took them a while to come and offer us drinks and once we got our drinks and our food, not one employee came to check in on our food or how we were doing. Not only that, but I overheard an employee talking about an autistic person. The food was eh. But the presentation of the food was good. The only bit of attentiveness they gave us was filling our water, asking us for boxes and a check to go.

If you are planning a night out at the theatre, you might want to reconsider your pre-show dining destination. While Wild River Grille clearly markets itself to the arts-going crowd, our recent experience suggests they haven't quite mastered the timing required for an stress-free evening. We arrived at 6:00 PM, giving ourselves a full two hours before an 8:00 PM show. Despite the early start, the service was consistently behind the beat: * Order Taken: 6:17 PM * Salads Served: 6:30 PM * Drinks Arrived: 6:40 PM (Ten minutes after the food had already hit the table) The most frustrating part of the evening was watching the table next to us. They arrived well after we did, yet they managed to finish their appetizers and full entrees before our main courses even appeared. Our entrees finally arrived at 7:30 PM, leaving us a frantic 30 minutes to settle the bill and get to the theatre. We ended up rushing through the meal so quickly that we couldn't actually enjoy the flavors or the atmosphere. Once we brought the significant delay to the staff's attention, they did acknowledge the lapse in service and applied a discount to our bill. While we appreciate the gesture and the attempt to make things right, a discount doesn't quite replace a relaxing pre-theatre meal. For a restaurant that positions itself as the go-to spot for diners heading to a show, the lack of urgency and disjointed pacing is still a major drawback.

Everything about this place was incredible, from the food to the views to the service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated outside. The sound of the flowing river also greatly enhanced our dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the braised short rib, bison burger and seared pork belly. The flavors on everything was bomb! The short rib was super tender. The pork belly was accompanied with honey and chopped pistachios. The bison had 2 super thick patties (one of the biggest burgers I've seen in a minute). And of course once we were done with our meals, we had to round it off with dessert. So we ordered the Bundt cake à la mode - with more crushed pistachios and caramel drizzle. Perfect way to round out a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend!

Our bartender, Emma was absolutely amazing! We just got married and she took care of us. Emma gave us pointers on places to go and made our first stop the best! Thank you, Emma! Also, The Bruschetta was one of the best we've had.

That was fine so as soon as we turned around to sit in the lobby, the guy called us and said he happened to find a table for two. So we were sat immediately. This is the busiest I've ever seen this restaurant. Pretty much every table, and they have lots of tables, was full. Braden was our server and he was at our table within five minutes. Considering how busy the place was, that was awesome. He took our drink orders asked if we actually knew what we wanted to eat, which we didn't, and so he went to get our drinks while we looked at the menu. What we ordered: 25 ounce Cadillac margarita Frolic in the sand Shots of tequila (Herradura) 20 ounce prime rib, medium rare Lobster tail Jacketed baked potato Sautéed mushrooms The food arrived quickly. The prime rib was perfect. Lobster, mushrooms. Everything was just so darn good. The star of the show was the server Braden. He was friendly and a little entertaining. Even though the place was super busy, he took the time to talk with us and make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our evening. I will definitely ask for him next time we come in here as he was that good. When the food and drinks are consistent, sometimes the only difference of a good visit versus an average visit is the server. He was perfect. Still some of the best prices in town for a steak/prime rib. Comfortable. Nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back again and again. I know things can go wrong occasionally, but this seemed to be a string of events. Once we ordered, it took a while to get food. I'm not complaining about this, we were a large party. When we did get our food, all of it was either wrong, cold, or undercooked. There were no wait staff around to tell, apparently they were short-staffed that night. I walked up and got the manager, who came back to the table to hear us out. They ended up comping all of the food and by the time we had gotten this far, it was already later in the evening and we just decided to salvage what we could. Some of the food was edible, so we did what we could. We kept waiting for someone to come around to clear dishes comma but we never saw anyone. There was an empty table between us and the next table over. There was an empty table between us and the next table over, and they had started stacking they're empty dishes on that empty table. We decided, we might as well do the same thing otherwise the dishes would stay put. By the end of the meal, the entire table was full of dishes. We ended up going somewhere else later that evening to actually get some food we could eat. I'm really sad that this meal went so poorly when we were trying to celebrate a birthday. We will never be going to this restaurant again. Additional after the fact, the sign outside that advertises the business has been broken for months. One would think that if you were a serious business that you would want to fix that. It reflects on your image. It makes me sad too, because they are right across the street from the Peppermill and they could be getting so much business.

My experience was quite different, we had a party of six celebrating a very special occasion. Thinking this Steakhouse is rated 4 stars we thought we couldn't go wrong, that was our first mistake. Of the first 5 salads brought out they had to take em back because of the 'off' odor. Our server explained that maybe it was the radishes (not what I would expect from a four star steakhouse). When the entrées came out three people had ordered filet mignon's, which I was told was very tasty. One of the patrons had ordered New York strip (three of us confirmed that) and was given and charged for a filet mignon rather than taking it back to the kitchen and giving the patron what they ordered. It was unfortunate, but the service in my opinion was not four-star they did check on us occasionally and kept the water glasses full and 'maybe' they even asked if everything was OK. Not wanting to spend $60 for a steak (I was a guest) I ordered the seafood roast. It turned out to be a very tasty bisque, but a tasty bowl of soup shouldn't cost $35.00. Give em try if you want to gamble on a great experience. My recommendation is to go to Western Steakhouse, enjoy the much better ambience, 120% better experience for maybe 10% more. You do you, all six of us know where we'll go next time.

The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Elk Chops, Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak, Boar Schnitzel or Scottish Eggs, if you are looking for…read more"different" you can have it at the Washoe Public House. Situated in Mid-Town, it is conveniently located near the River and an easy walk to to the Pioneer Center. Have no fear, there is quite normal food fare in addition to the more exotic. We went with a large group, so we were able to sample the exotic and the more traditional. Starting with the Double Elk Chops, featured on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the Elk is a bit on the gamey side, tender with a hint of lamb taste but a finish of liver, it is not for everyone. Scottish Eggs is a soft boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep fried. It is served with a beer mustard. My friend, from England, was quick to order the Scottish Eggs. He reported that they were a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. 6/10. The Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak sounds more exotic than the taste. For this sandwich I would have appreciated a bit more Kangaroo :-) but otherwise was good. Our friends seemed to enjoy the Boar Schnitzel and the portion was certainly large, as were all the portions at the Washoe Public House. The Short Ribs were so tended and a just a touch on the sweet side. My wife liked the sweetness but as a full meal, it was a bit sweet for my palate. I had the Washoe Burger with Bacon. A solid burger. I would have preferred my patty a bit less cooked but it was fine none the less. Rich with flavor, a solid choice. The fries were good. Nothing spectacular. It you are looking for different, Washoe Public House just might be the ticket. Fantastic cuisine, located close to the River and other entertainment.

Quality/Quantity - We did the math?!?! Can you believe it has been 21 years since we have been…read morehere!! This is the very first steak house that we met our "first" Reno friends. He chose this place. And last month when we got together, he suggested we come back. It brought back so many memories!! Crazy as she also started sharing all our pictures from the past?!?! Again, so many memories. Okay, to the Steak House, I need to focus, lol. Today we got the following, all of which were cooked perfectly! Complimentary Bread with French and Apricot, Pistachio Butter - So good that all of us could not stop eating it. It is going to ruin our dinner... Palette Cleanser - Refreshing. All the wives got the Sea Bass and Salad, so I only took one picture. Are they spending too much time together...? Ate the exact same meal?!?! This is affecting my Yelp pictures, lol. The good news is that us "men" all ordered different entrees. Again, everything was all cooked perfectly. Prime Rib - 16oz, I really think I got a larger slice, thank you. Changed it up from my usual rib eye. Against my own will, I caved in for a second slice of huge thick sourdough bread so I was only able to finish half my dinner... If I did not do that, I think I could have finished my dinner. I also appreciated the two horse radish options. Oh, and a sweet potato option!!! Sold. Filet - 12 oz, my buddy impresses me that he can always finish his dinner and he ate 4 slices of bread?!?! He is not much bigger than me. My buddy also changed his options to sweet potato following my lead. Wagyu Short Rib - This buddy is a light eater like myself, but he finished his dinner. This is the second time I have seen him finish his whole dinner! I am impressed. But not sure if he had any of that delicious bread. Dessert: The ladies wanted "a" dessert to share, so they ordered a cherry crumb cheesecake (my favorite of the desserts). Then my filet buddy who is a Key Lime connoisseur gave in and ordered a "Key Lime Pie;" sorry, none of us felt this was a pie, but rather more like a key lime creme brulee?!?! It was still good, but far from his and our expectations. S'more Dessert - Lastly, the manager brought over this dessert. I don't think it was even on the menu. He asked which dessert we liked best and we all had different answers so he left laughing. Complimentary chocolates. I washed down my dinner with a glass of Shiraz. I also had a glass of wine already gambling while waiting for our friends in the casino. Table side flaming desserts available; see pictures. Ambiance - Small, but a beautiful location in the Western Village Resort, Casino. Almost hidden in a corner. Non pretentious. Restrooms - Need to go outside to the casino. The closest ones are upstairs, just follow the sign. Open 7 days a week from 4:30pm to 9pm or 10pm. Service - 6 stars. From the hostess, servers, waitress and manager. So professional, "white glove" service, respectful, etc. Thank you. Hot towels at the end of dinner; be careful, piping hot. Oh, we also never felt pressured to leave and we stayed 1 hour after closing... Thanks and sorry. We always have so much fun with this group of friends. Actually, we are having a happy hour together at Napa Bistro tomorrow with the larger group... Can't get enough of each other. Price - $416 + generous tip. Expensive, but worth it. I actually felt it was of very good value for the experience, service, and quality of food. I think we need to come back more often than every 20+ years, lol. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success for over 40 years. 1983 - Peppermill acquired.
