We shared the wedge salad, brussels sprouts, and baked potatoes and for apps, we ordered the rosemary turnover. The positive: ribeye, wedge salad, and turnover was delicious. The good, the bad, and the ugly: Friday night, seven pm, table for 2. Nobody on patio except us, seated directly under the metal staircase to another establishment. Had to move as soon as loud with all the people going up and down we couldn't hear each other. Server is all three strikes and out immediately: "Welcome in!" "Have WE ever dined here before?" (Condescending smirk.) "We do things a little bit differently around here." The thing they do differently is that you have to order everything from a QR code. It's such a bummer because we hardly ever get to eat dinner together, and we want to spend it interacting, not using a phone for yet ANOTHER task. We order: rosemary popovers, steak, wedge salad, potatoes a gratin, and asparagus. Popovers: no rosemary, just dried parsley sprinkled on top. Burned on the bottom, very tough (likely over mixed) Wedge salad: pretty solid, very salty Steak: too salty as well, but cooked nicely to order Potatoes: this...is not a gratin. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The food ended up being excellent, but the overall experience left me feeling like three stars was about right. The ordering process was a little disengaging from the start. You can either scan a QR code to order or walk up to the counter if you prefer not to use technology. What I found a little ironic was that after ordering this way, the checkout process still suggests a 25% tip for the service. I'm certainly happy to tip for good service, but the experience felt more like ordering takeout than dining at a higher-end restaurant. For our meal, we had a filet, small wedge salad, and potatoes, along with a Jack and Coke Zero and a michelada. The steak was cooked perfectly and the food was genuinely excellent. The staff was also nice and friendly, so I have no complaints there. The biggest issue was the atmosphere. It was extremely windy outside, and the front door was left open, so we were freezing for much of the meal. They also brought out five cookies for dessert. One was soft and enjoyable, while the other four were so hard that they honestly became the comedy portion of the meal. Our total was around $90. I did not leave a 25% tip. If this were a traditional full-service steakhouse, I would have tipped more than $10 because I'm happy to reward good service. But at this price point, I expect the luxury of sitting at my table, having someone check on us, being able to ask questions, and receiving full table service from start to finish. This is an interesting take on a steakhouse that I mean in a good way. You can either order from the front register or use their QR coded menu that's available. The servers are extremely friendly and helpful. One guy noticed my New York Knicks sweater so we had a nice small convo about the upcoming NBA Finals. Compared to other steakhouse like Ruth's Chris or Morton's, you will get good value as everything is very reasonable priced. Our ribeyes were cooked perfect and seasoned well. The red wine braised mushrooms were a nice addition and I highly recommend their Cowboy Crispy Potatoes which are amazing. Their poblano sauce is great on them. What a fun experience! Excellent service from Jayden and Ashlyn tonight. They were busy the whole time yet I felt well cared for. Plenty of gluten free options, yay! The vibe was great. Music playing in the background was lively yet not overwhelming. I can't express enough how hard Jayden was working on the floor, taking out trash, cleaning, and still taking time to answer any questions I had. I haven't been for dinner, but what an awesome place for happy hour! We went as a large group for a birthday and got all sorts of things to share. We were there early in the day and there were the only group and we sat outside under the umbrellas on a warm fall day. For drinks we ordered the basil lemonade, the maple bacon old fashioned, and the barrel aged manhattan. The whiskey cocktails were really good and strong. We got all sorts of food including 2 steaks: New York strip and Ribeye, the BBQ chicken, ribs, truffle parmesan fries, onion rings, and caesar salad. Everything was good but there were a few highlights. The steaks were great with and without the sauces. In particular I really enjoyed the chimichurri sauce. Biggest little steakhouse is nice, quaint, and elegant steakhouse on Virginia St. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the staff and seated. We had a reservation, so we were seated immediately. It was our first time here so the staff let us know that the restaurant was a little different and that we would have to place our order via QR code or at the bar. There aren't traditional waiters. Everything on the menu is a la cart. While the food isnt the most expensive, it is not cheap either. I ordered a ribeye and my daughter ordered a new york. Both were in the $35 to $40 range. I also added a side of brussel sprouts that cost about $4. The food was brought out quickly and was cooked just as we asked for. The only issue I had with the ribeye was that it wasnt the thickest steak I have ever had, but it was cooked well. After our meal we were given a complimentary cookie that was warm, gooey, and delicious. A meal for 2 with one side and two sodas was over $100 with tip. Is it worth it? I dont really know. Texas Roadhouse would be about $30 cheaper and the steak would be very similar and you get sides. The ambiance and staff were very nice though so ymmv with the biggest little steakhouse. read more

Surprisingly this was my first visit to Biggest Little Steakhouse since they opened. My wife and I were on a long walk to a concert at RPM and needed a spot for dinner. We cam across this spot and decided it was time to try it out for dinner. We found a spot at the bar and were served directly by the bartender. We ordered some cocktails to start, my manhattan was a nice classic pour and tasted great. My wife and I split a Wedge salad, and Ribeye Steak, and potatoes Au Gratin single side since we were looking for a light dinner. Everything was delicious, the steak really surprised me by how tender and flavorful it was. We were there on a Sunday night so we were also able to watch SNF. The decor and ambiance is casual which I appreciate for a more laid back steakhouse experience. The service was great throughout the meal and we both left feeling satisfied and pleased with the overall meal and experience. We were regulars here from the very beginning, but after watching this place steadily degrade, our visit this past Friday was the final straw. What had the potential to be a standout local steakhouse has turned into an absolute joke. ​The Early Days vs. The Setup When they first opened, the experience had real heart and charm. The owner was there constantly with his young son running around, low-top tables and intimate candlelit settings filled the room, and a musician played live guitar in the corner. It felt like a warm, fun, family-driven environment. ​The service staff back then was exceptional. Brian was an absolute 12 out of 10--he didn't just recite the entire menu from memory, he could tell you exactly how every glaze was made, how each cut was cooked, prepared, and how it would be served. He made your mouth water before you even took a bite. Brandon (whom the owner's son affectionately called "B-Dog") was another fantastic server we loved seeing. He was a young guy working hard to make it work, showing immense passion, energy, and natural ability, and we were genuinely excited to watch him grow. ​Even then, the ordering concept was bizarre. You walked up to a counter to order, pay, and were prompted to tip before receiving any service whatsoever--which is frankly obnoxious for a steakhouse--and then handed a plastic number to take back to your table like you were at a Carl's Jr. Having to order drinks separately led to constant confusion, with people often leaving without settling drinks because nothing was tied to a traditional running tab. Still, we overlooked the setup because Brian, Brandon, the owner's presence, the atmosphere, and the food made it worthwhile. ​The Downward Slide Over time, management stripped away the intimate low-tops for rows of high-tops along the walls, completely killing the fine-dining ambiance and replacing it with the feel of a generic, loud bar. While they blamed a lot on COVID, the decline started before that and has only gotten worse: ​Everything on a QR Code: They allegedly have physical menus, but we never saw one. There are no menus handed out, no passionate staff walking you through the cuts, and zero personal interaction. Every single item--steaks, sides, and drinks--must now be ordered and paid for directly off a QR code on your phone, completely eliminating whatever hospitality was left. ​Nonexistent Service: On a prime Friday evening reservation, we were greeted by a teenager at the counter dressed sloppily. Instead of being seated, we were told, "Take any one of those tables," with a vague wave of a hand. Minutes later, someone dropped by only to say, "Scan that QR code to order," and walked right away. ​The Wine Fiasco: We ordered a bottle of wine, but were brought a single glass of wine instead. When we followed up and asked for three additional glasses so our table could share, the server came back, plunked an already-opened bottle on the table along with the glasses, and said, "I think I just opened this bottle for you, so it should be good." That is not how dining is supposed to go. Uncorking a mystery bottle in the back and bringing it out half-handled is outrageous for a steakhouse. ​Zero Hospitality: We had to hunt down staff just to get water and ask for our own to-go boxes. Not a single employee stopped by to check on the meal, refill a drink, or provide basic table touches. ​Pushing Guests Outdoors: They constantly try to seat people outside regardless of conditions--even right now, with active regional fires making the smoky outdoor air completely unhealthy to sit in. ​Drop in Food Quality: For the first time since coming here, the meal was legitimately bad. The food was sloppy, rushed, and thrown together without care, fitting the new bar-room aesthetic rather than a quality steakhouse. ​The Missing Heart of the Restaurant: The familiar faces that made this place great are entirely absent. The owner isn't around, and neither Brian nor Brandon have been seen on our last several visits, even on a peak weekend night. It feels like the passion completely walked out the door. ​The Parking Hassle: Parking has become a nightmare. The neighboring lot charges for parking, and unlike surrounding businesses, there is zero designated parking in the back for restaurant guests. ​Final Verdict We've brought friends here in the past and ended up embarrassed by the slipping standards. Paying fine dining steakhouse prices to seat yourself, order everything off your phone via a QR code without ever seeing an actual menu, get served mystery open bottles of wine, fetch your own amenities, eat rushed food at a high-top, and receive zero service is unacceptable. Several weeks ago we decided we wanted to spend our anniversary dinner at BLS (b/c our first visit was so epic) and we had an experience that was the EXACT OPPOSITE of our first experience. TL;DR - my bf refuses to return. Here's what went right - the steaks were once again cooked the way we liked them and the Brussels sprouts were on point. The misses? Buckle up. It was later in the evening so there were empty tables. We were seated at a 2-person high top by a lukewarm staff. Unlike our first visit where we were greeted warmly, provided menus and served, this time we were told to order at the counter or on the app; if we had any issues with the app, we would receive help. Not sure if we missed the restaurant's concept the first time, but hey, we're adaptable. We ordered through the app so we could use a coupon emailed that day. Perfect timing, right? Nope. When we had issues with the app, my bf went to the cashier for help. We couldn't complete our order through the app so he had to place our order with the indifferent cashier who didn't honor the discount. We ordered 2 apps + our steaks and when the 2 apps arrived and placed, our table was fairly crowded. Our meals came shortly afterwards and the plates were precariously crammed on our table. I counted three empty 4-tops we could have been offered, (but weren't) and by then we just wanted to eat quickly and scram. To add insult to injury, the ratio of syrup to carbonated water for their Coke products is extremely low and yes, I tried two different products, thinking the first one was a fluke. Super disappointing. We rushed to eat our dinner and thankfully redeemed our anniversary by having dessert at a place with a better vibe. Sorry, BLS, I removed stars for our recent visit. Even if the concept is supposed to be fast, casual dining, the lack of hospitality or effort to assist us this time around left such a bad taste in our mouths. This might be the Biggest Little Steakhouse in Reno, but they definitely have some of the BIGGEST happy hour deals I've seen! We passed by this spot while driving in Midtown, and we're so glad we didn't make the mis -STEAK of not giving it a try. Everyday from 12-5 PM, they have huge discounts on sides, selected cuts of steak, and drinks (cocktails and wine for $6), making their menu super affordable and honestly very good bang for your buck considering the quality! We ordered the truffle fries, which actually had a strong essence of truffle, Conundrum by Caymus, their house lavender cocktail, ribeye ($26) + grilled shrimp ($10 add on) and Thai salad, which was not on the happy hour menu ($16). I actually enjoyed how they cooked the fries, steak and shrimp (albeit a little oily for my personal preferences), although I would say the portion of shrimp is definitely not worth the price. The Thai salad consisted of a hefty portion of half uncooked noodles (neither crispy nor cooked through) that I ended up pushing to the side, although it did have a good portion of steak. I love Mai Tai's. I've had several, especially lately. This one was not that good. Didn't taste anything like a Mai Tai. :-/ Another frustrating thing was that they didn't do a "traditional" take your order at the table/wait on you. There was a stupid barcode scanner to order on our phones. Did NOT like that nor was it user friendly. I got irritated with the process and ended up walking to someone at the register to order. This place has one of my favorite happy hours in town and it's 12pm-5pm every day. They did remove the Filet Mignon option for happy hour, but they still offer the Ribeye and NY strip at a good prices. My steaks are always cooked perfectly here and the sides are good for the price and portion. The best value are the cocktails for $6, that's tough to beat! I recommend the Midtown Mai Tai and the Barrel Aged Negroni. They have several tables available and about 10 seats at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and took our orders quickly. Never had to wait long to order more food or drinks. I can't comment on the rest of the menu or table service since I only come here during happy hour and sit at the bar. Sad days! So we tried to eat here 2 weeks ago (Sunday eve) about 8:15 pm. The guy at the door told us they decided to close early. Said they were changing the stove or something. Kind of odd to close at 8:15 pm. Fast forward to Saturday evening May 24: we arrived at 9:15 PM. We were greeted by Angela. She said are you guys having dinner? Because we are going close the kitchen early (on a Saturday?) she didn't want to say that they had a couple of big parties and the cooks were tired and she wanted to let them out early. That's a strange thing to tell a customer. Another group of three men came in after us, and she was quite brash with them also. She informed them that she was trying to close the kitchen early and that since we (my wife and I) just sat down then she could definitely serve them as long as they hurried... and not hurry in a polite way, but more like it was an inconvenience to her because it was her who wanted to go home... not about cooks. For the table next to us, one person ordered online, Angela actually said ' I wish you guys would've all ordered together, this is caused such a problem. Later, I could hear her apologizing to the cooks because apparently she made some mistake. I heard her say ' I am sorry I should've done it that way' any supervisors or managers read this, she can verify with the cooks. These are just not things you say to customers. You don't tell them that they made a mistake using the online ordering system. You don't tell them to hurry because you want to send the cooks home. And you definitely 100% do not tell your customers that it's been busy and you don't want to close early.... The only saving rate is the food is off the hook! Great food.. one other issue, I ordered a mai tai and Angela told me she could not do a Matai because she ran out of pineapple foam and it takes too long to make more foam... such a strange experience. None of the normal managers were here. They were very good at quality control, and making sure that people felt welcome. They never made you feel like you were imposing on them or any special request was inconvenient to them. Small and dimly lit. While they have a limited amount of draft beers they do offer a full bar. Only a few items on the menu but the filet I had was delicious. This is a tale of a potato. Yes, I get it, this is a steakhouse. But, I haven't had a steak here yet. I work next-door and I've only had a couple of things to eat here on the fly. I will be posting a future review on the steak but I felt it necessary to review what I have had. The first day I ate here was the onion rings. Albeit a little pricey, they are the best onion rings you will ever have. They are awesome. Large, crispy, side of ranch or ketchup, I had both. A wow. But then last week I forgot lunch, but I didn't want steak. So I checked the menu and saw they had the fully loaded potato. If you know my reviews you know my wife is the steak eater, I usually get chicken at a steakhouse. Yeah I know. But, always my favorite part of the meal is a loaded potato. Well let me tell you, this place has the best loaded potato I've ever had in my life. And that is saying a lot. My former favorite loaded potato was at a steakhouse in California that is no longer in business. But fear not, as they have been replaced. This was the potato to beat all potatoes. Oh my God it was so good and so loaded with bacon, cheese, and green onions. It is a meal in itself, and I had a second one on Saturday. Yes, I will take the Wife there so she can get a steak and I'll review that, but I am telling you this was freaking awesome. But it doesn't end there. The wait staff is extremely nice and efficient. And to top it off they give you a cookie. And man is that cookie good. Seeing I work next-door I'll be back many times and try many of their things, probably even a steak at some point. But I'm telling you, if you love a baked potato like I do, go no further. I see people eating outdoors here all the time and they're all happy, so come and check it out. You won't be sorry. And don't forget to order that baked potato! OK part two. I took my wife there tonight. She had the ribeye and I had the ribs. The ribs were incredible. They have a really great rub and they are obviously slow roasted to perfection. Fall off the bone perfection. Comes with a little side of barbecue sauce which is really good, but truthfully I don't need it, they were so tasty on their own. I will definitely try them again down the road. But the ribeye steak. Wow wow wow. My wife got the chimichurri with it, and I am telling you this is one of the best steaks you will ever have. It is so flavorful and so soft. It is truly amazing. Although I am not a steak guy per se, this is one of the places I will definitely order a steak and enjoy it. I was truly amazed. Food...the steaks are thin, not cooked evenly and gone completely down hill. I understand that you are probably paying more for your meat but then offer 2 sizes. Whenever we go snowboarding, we stay at GSR in Reno. Since casino dining can be pricey, we try to go out to Reno proper for food when possible. During our most recent trip with the kids, my husband found this interesting steak place to try. We shared a few different items: cheddar biscuits - YUM! truffle fries - who doesn't like these?! ribeye NY steak balsamic glazed brussel sprouts - my favorite side at any steak place Our biggest complaint was that we didn't get the sauce that we asked for with the steak & also the meat was a bit more done than medium rare as there was no pink at all. Given the name, I was a little skeptical when my friends told me we were going to have lunch here. It 's definitely a sports bar vibe and the staff are okay, though a little slow for my liking. They have a happy hour and the prices are out of the world. I believe it was 26 dollars for a ribeye? It was excellent quality though, which I'm so happy about. The sides were okay, I'd say skip the mac and cheese. It was just plain macaroni with sour cream, bacon and chives on top. I will be coming back next time I'm in Reno. read more

Great food and cocktails! I ordered the wedge salad, which was a great price at $12. My husband got the steak and potatoes Au Gratin. I had some too and it was amazing. The steak was a big size and cooked perfectly the way we requested. The portion size for the potatoes was small though. Easy service. We sat at the bar, but for table seating you can put your order in by walking up or using your phone. There are plenty employees around to provide service too. Good food, small menu with just the right amount of variety, not overwhelming. The service is good, they come to the table and explain the process and take your drink order. They give you a physical menu and there is a QR code menu on the table. You can order through the QR code or go up to the counter and order. They do deliver your food to the table. They check in on ya to see if there is anything further you need and clear your plates as needed. A little on the dark side with not much lighting, and few tables, a small intimate restaurant, making a reservation is recommended. Nice decor, very relaxing environment. read more

Great service, everything came out promptly. The staff was welcoming and gave few recommendations.

First the positives. Nice space, friendly bartender and wait staff. Prices are reasonable. Now, the food. Everyone liked the salads with add ins. The wedge with beef tips got very high marks, as did the Caesar with beef tips. My ribs were delicious. Not so good or well cooked were the steaks. Ribeyes were raw at center, both tough and grisly, NY was raw at center. Mac and cheese was flavorless, béchamel was very raw tasting, gritty and flour not incorporated well. Very hard to park. We ended two blocks over snd midtown is sketchy, especially at night. Something going wrong with sewer system and it wafted through our dinner. Wine was expensive and very limited by the glass. I guess bottom line is that I would not go back. A chain place would beat this anyday and at $370 for 7 folks when only three had a cocktail, and 3 had salads as entrees, just not a good bet. Kinda feels like someone's passion project- I hope they improve on the steak, because that should be easy. Starts with buying good quality. Next is don't cook ribeye or NY from frozen. All three steaks ordered medium rare and all three obviously raw at center. One sent back, two just left on plates. As a cattle rancher, I can say, their beef was not high quality. Improve the steak, even if it means charging more, cook it right, get basics like Mac and cheese up to snuff and you may have a little gem...don't and you'll be gone soon. read more
