I found Nevada Steak when I was looking for a place to take my boyfriend for his birthday and I was very happy that this restaurant was next to the Marriott we were staying at because I did not want to drive anywhere. I didn't expect this place to be busy when I went, but it was. We were seated immediately since we had a reservation. Our server was Angel. He was really good and took care of us really well. He explained the menu to us thoroughly, which helped us choose the right dish. The restaurant was really pretty, really nice. I think they can remove some tables in the middle. I feel like it is too crowded. But it was very festive, and they had really nice Christmas decor. We ordered the half dozen oysters, which I inhaled lol. They were good and tasted very fresh. Another appetizer we ordered was the crispy calamari, which was also really tasty, and the sauce with it was really good. We ended up sharing a tomahawk with a lobster enhancement which was perfect for me and my boyfriend. The tomahawk is from Harris Ranch and I've been wanting to try their steak which I'm glad I'm able to try now. The meat was cooked perfectly and the size was enough for two people especially with the lobster enhancement. The lobster bisque was also a good soup to try. Four of us went here for dinner for the first time on a Monday night. It wasn't that busy which made me happy. We were promptly seated in a tiny booth. Well, we are big guys and the booth was pretty tight so we asked to be seated at one of the empty tables instead for more room. It was a good choice. Our server arrived shortly thereafter and took our orders. I split a house salad with my husband and was glad I did because it was huge and very tasty. I had the NY Steak and colossal baked potato for my entree. The steak was actually a little dry. The baked potato was huge and delicious. I also had a side of bearnaise sauce that was rather disappointing. It wasn't the right consistency. It was way too thick. Almost like a paste. The service was very good and the ambiance is very nice. They actually have a beautiful outdoor patio. Been a while since we visited and we were reminded why. Let me start by saying the service was great. Our waitress did everything right. Unfortunately the cooks did not. We started with the pork belly and it wasn't good. Way overcooked and dry. 1/3 couldnt even be eaten because it was like jerky and the sauce on top was not good. A strange version of a chimichurri. When the steaks arrived my wife's was way overcooked. Mine was cooked to temp but the outside was so tough and thick I had to saw through it with my steak knife to get to the juicy center. It was odd for sure. At dessert time they were out of the crème brule and at that point we were happy to just pay the bill and call it a night. This review is for The Bar, at Nevada Steak. The Bar is part of the Nevada Steak Restaurant and Nevada Steak Lounge and you can order from both the Steakhouse and Steakhouse Lounge menu. My husband and I shared a Cesar Salad that was fresh and really tasty. We also had the Fish and Chips. The Fish seemed of very good quality, fried to a golden brown, which made it perfectly crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The fries had a good seasoning, but what I loved was how big they were. They were also seasoned and deep fried to perfection. Love these fries!!! We really had no room, but somehow ended up getting the Sticky Toffee Pudding. OMG, so good!! Our server's Sydney and Tony, were also excellent. They were friendly and gave the best service. Treated to date night at Nevada Steak steakhouse in Tamarack junction. It's been on my list since Open table recommended them based on past reservations/visits. It is a beautiful steakhouse. We had a quiet booth in the back off to the side. Thank you to the host for seating us there. They offer a sunset dinner menu and we were in early enough to order from it. They offer a regular menu and their verbal specials. I ordered the New York steak off their sunset menu with ($3 upcharge) that came with a dessert; vanilla creme brulee. We loved their relish tray! It's a must try if you come in. We ordered oysters in a half shell and split a wedge salad. The dressing was pretty salty. (The thick cut bacon was a perfect addition to my wedge salad.) I would have prefered we got our oysters before our salads as opposed of together. My steak and the prime rib special was blackened and were a perfect MR. Kudos to the chef! I think next visit, I'll have to ask about butter and ect. I would have asked for it on the side or could have gone without. My mashed potatoes and steak were drenched in it. I stole a bite of twice baked potatoes, they are a personal favorite. Vanilla creme brulee is one of my favorite desserts! I was glad to see it offered and it perfect end to a perfect date. Their wine list is beautiful and I was happy to see Prisoner's wine offered by the glass! That was a no brainer, I knew what I was going to drink. I had heard a few mediocre verbal reviews from friends and colleagues but I was excited to give this place a try for myself finally. I had a business dinner for the first time ever here and was very pleased. We first ordered a large variety of appetizers to include, escargot, shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell, calamari, and a relish platter. The appetizers were excellent. I did think that the escargot were pretty small and bland. I love escargot and these definitely weren't the best I'd ever had. We ordered the pork belly, crab cake and French onion soup as appetizers. The pork belly was amazing, my hubby loved the crab cake and the French onion soup was good but I've had better. We both ordered the 12 oz dry aged New York. I ordered mine a blasphemous mid-well and it was perfectly cook. I ordered the old bay fries which are actually more of jojo fries, they were seasoned perfectly and crisp. The hubby got the scallop potatoes and we were not impressed as they were al dente and not very appetizing. The bacon Mac and cheese was delicious but very interesting as it tasted like it bathed in bacon. Finally for dessert we had the vanilla creme brulee for my bday dessert and took home the tiramisu. First time to visit for a friend's birthday. The atmosphere was very comfortable, able to forget we were inside a casino. Started with the crab cake and an old fashioned. The crabmeat was well seasoned and pleasantly crispy. Dinner also included sourdough bread and a tasty relish tray. The French onion soup was cheesy and redolent with nicely flavored stock. The 8 oz sirloin was perfectly cooked to medium rare and so tasty that the brandy & peppercorn sauce was unnecessary. Ok. We love eating at Nevada Steak, it has a great warm environment that is super romantic or fun with friends. Unfortunately, our last visit this last Saturday was not good. My husband and I decided to have a date night. We both had a long week and we just wanted to reconnect with one another. First thing we did was ordered drinks - a gin and tonic and a glass of Mumms. The drinks were great. Then we ordered our meal. We both ordered French Onion soup to start with, and finally we order the 12oz Prime Rib. We decided to split the Prim Rib leaving room for dessert. The French Onion soup was wonderful. When the Prime Rib showed up, it looked great. My husband try to cut into it - telling me that they need to sharpen their knife's. Let me tell you, it wasn't their knife's. The Prime Rib was so tuff and awful! It was like chewing on boot leather. We sat their for about 12 minutes before or server came over to check on us. We told her what was wrong with our dinner and she told us that we should have flagged her down... really! We still payed for the Prime Rib. I'm super disappointed in the prime rib and the service. We have been here twice once for the Sunset Special and the standard menu. All meals come with a complimentary relish tray, bread, and butter. Inside the Tamarack Casino is this tasty Steakhouse. They have a Sunset Special Menu from 4:30 - 5:30 for $29.00. You can choose from six options and it comes with a choice of dessert. Dessert is either Creme Brulee or Chocolate Pot De Creme. Years ago many Casinos used to offer Early Bird specials. When we went most of us had the salmon. The Fillet comes with spicy lemon butter and your choice of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The fish was cooked to perfection. The potatoes and green beans were on point. Everyone loved their food and was full. Recently we met family here for dinner as they live in Carson City. I had the Halibut which was a lot spicier than I had anticipated. It was flavorful and tasty. I also chose the rice pilaf which was a very small portion. All the other options were larger. Especially the twice-baked potato. I must admit I was quite impressed with how tasty the potato was. If we go again I am getting it. My daughter had the Fillet. Bearnaise sauce is extra. She said it was good. Our wait staff was friendly and took care of us. The relish tray had hot pepper, hearts of palm, green olives, one stick of celery, one stick of carrot, radish slices, and pickles. The Sunset special is well worth it. The food was good, but not excellent not to mention pricey. While the prices are comparable to other steakhouses in the area the quality of food is not. Two wanted still water and the other two wanted sparkling water. Well we all got still water and were left scratching our heads as to why he bothered to ask and offer sparkling water. Next the server came to get drink orders going which was speedy however the bottle of rose was warm when it arrived. The server did place it in an ice bucket but it's not like it sits in that long enough to get cold the point is to keep it cold. We reluctantly put ice cubes in the rose against our better judgment. We ordered appetizers and entrees next. The bruschetta didn't have a description which we didn't notice until it arrived and was slopped down in front of my husband rather than centered to share for the table. My dad who had picked it took one and them and promptly said oh this is beets, where's the tomatoes!?!? Ok so we didn't see that the menu said "seasonal preparation" but who orders a bruschetta and expects beets and goats cheese on crostini? Thats not bruschetta! We didn't really eat it but the server never came back to check on us! The salads were served at the same time as appetizers and to the wrong persons which is not a big deal but having been in service industry I know that table orders are easy to mark who is where in a clockwise order from seat one. We were going to ask for an extra plate so I could share my salad with my husband but again the server never returned. All of this and the restaurant really was not busy at all! Finally the entrees arrived and they were at least cooked to order 3 out of 4 of us got the prime rib. The prime rib was good but not great. It was super smoky even for smoked prime rib. We make this at home regularly and it's better than what we got here which is disappointing for the cost. The server came by once to see if we were happy with the food and then never again. The gentleman that offered the sparkling water came to ask if we wanted boxes while 2 of us were still actively eating. That's annoying because it feels like they are rushing to get us out. Then the server brought the check except the book she brought was empty so we had to wait (longer than one would expect) to have her cone back so we could ask for her to bring an actual bill. All in all the bill with tip was almost $500, the service was sub-par and rushed. We felt like we had to hurry up and get outta there. The food was only ok nothing special. I actually think the steak had service is better at the Texas Roadhouse! Also to top it off the chairs are horribly uncomfortable, very high backed beyond upright and felt like I was being forced forward into my plate! I will definitely not return to say the least. The sunset menu is possibly one of the better deals in town. For $29 and a three course meal, it is tough to beat. We have been here three times now and all were very good. We sat in the lounge area today and I would highly suggest that over the restaurant for your typical dinner out. They had the games on a big screen along with tv walls surrounding the are. Today we got a 16 oz ribeye with broccolini and a Caesar salad. The Caesar was good but just an average Caesar overall. The steak was incredible and cooked to a perfect medium rare. I like the cooked garlic on top as a garnish. My wife got the lobster bisque, 8 oz ny strip and fudge Sunday which she enjoyed. It's a lot of food for $29. Our server was awesome. We've heard so many good things about the Nevada Steak House, that we decided to go there for my Birthday. Situated at the rear of the Tamarack Casino, the restaurant is nice, pretty quiet and cozy. The servers were friendly and welcoming. Our table had the Ravioli, Salmon special, Blackened Prime Rib and I had the Ribeye Steak. I was so busy taking pics of everyone's meals that I forgot to take a pic of my steak. My bad. My steak was supposed to be medium rare. I would say it was more medium. Not overcooked but not what I asked for. The steak was flavorful and tender. The mashed potatoes were a bit on the dry side. My wife had the Blackened Prime Rib. Cooked to perfection, the Prime Rib was flavorful and delicious. Her baked potato was enormous. We finished our meal with the Creme Brûlée and Toffee Pudding. The Creme Brûlée was light and delightful. The caramel sauce, drizzled over the Toffee Pudding made the dessert. The Toffee Pudding was definitely my favorite. First time to the old-school steakhouse and loved it! We chose the Sunset Dinner with a limited menu served between 4:30-5:30. It comes with relish tray, sourdough bread, choice of 5 entrees and dessert. We also added a shrimp cocktail appetizer which was delicious. The old fashioned I ordered from the lounge was very well made. The relish tray had a crisp assortment of vegetables and was the perfect start. Sourdough bread was warm and freshly baked. I had the NY steak-tender and cooked perfectly-and my husband had the chicken Parmesan with a side of spaghetti which he loved. Dessert was a choice of chocolate pot de crème or crème brûlée. We had one of each and both were so good and accompanied by warm cookies. A glass of really good port was perfect ending to the meal. Special dishes are now available as well as steak house favorites. Filet mignon is my favorite dish. Sides are colossal, plenty to share. I love the mushrooms and asparagus. Another favorite is Wedge Salad and Cesar salad. You can add protein to either. Nice wine list with some choices by the glass. I miss the minestrone soup but like the adds. About 530pm, we called and got a reservation at 730 - on a Friday?? Ok, let's see how this goes. WE got there, the place was half empty. We were given a beautiful booth in a corner. Immediately attended to by Tyler, fizzy water, menus, specials - etc. Then Taylor came by - noted we brought our own wine, drink orders, appetizers, any questions? The seamless hand-off between Tyler and Taylor was inspired. The attention was just enough. Service was - seriously? Excellent. We had the relish plate, which reminded me so much of my grandmother's dining table. Why don't people do that anymore? Such a nice touch. The appetizer - Ahi Carpaccio and the Wedge Salad to share - do you want that in 2 plates? Sure! For dinner, I had the Ribeye and he had the Pork Chops - so freakin' good. Both dishes were excellent. The scalloped potatoes were cheesy and yummy. The twice baked was a little dry - but it was enormous and I just finished it for breakfast this morning. The Cocktails? I had a GG Martini and he enjoyed the smokey Manhattan (signature drink) - Mine was perfect - he was even better - the use of the black walnut bitters is inspired. Dessert - oh, we really shouldn't.. My friend had the lobster soup which was very nicely presented and delicious. Before the soup we received a nice little piece of bread and a relish plate full of canapés. I had the rib eye steak and baked potato and my friend had the steak and lobster tail which was huge and grilled to perfection. Both of our steaks were cooked to the exact way we ordered. The only thing to note was the roasted garlic which was over roasted so it was not as buttery as it could be removed. They need to improve on that. As it was our anniversary they gave us a dessert and we chose the creme brulee which was also delicious. The meal was large enough to take half home for dinner. While it was expensive it was good value for money and both the beef and lobster were very high quality products. The atmosphere here really brings the wow factor, and the food, combined with the quality of service makes it even better! This review will be about our second visit to Nevada Steak, when we brought our 70-year-old grandparents with us for a nice dinner. We were easily able to make reservations online ahead of time for witnesses takehouse opens, 5:30 PM. We arrived and it was super busy but we were greeted warmly, seated right away, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet for being so busy. It was wonderful that we were still able to have conversations and to hear clearly, especially with seniors. We ordered cocktails right away and were able to make some customizations to them, without an upcharge. They brought by the most AMAZING bread (soft, warm, fresh) woth a soft salted butter and it was truly exquisite. I know its just bread, but it really set the tone for the whole meal. For appetizers we ordered the oysters, the lobster bisque and the shrimp cocktail. I'd say the bisque was our favorite! It was out of this world! Entrees- my partner ordered the Surf & Turf and I had the Attichoke and Ricotta Raviloi. Between the two, the steak was our favorite thing! The beef is from California and was seasoned and cooked so perfectly. My second favorite thing was the sauce on the ravioli. Yum! For dessert we shared the stick toffee pudding which was topped with ice cream. Our grandparents ordered the vanilla ice cream and were absolutely raving about it. When we requested boxes for our entrees, they box it tableside for you which is so nice. I can't recommend NV steak enough. There's a stunning patio in the back and a sports lounge in the front, so no matter what mood you're in, there's a setting for it. Ordered from their Sunset (aka early-bird) Menu. Server gave us a choice of potato , I ordered twice baked, wife ordered regular baked - loaded. When our steaks arrived, she asked if we wanted steak sauce, wife said house and I said A-1. Bill arrived with charge for dessert which is included in the dinner charge. This was corrected but we were up-charged for my potato ($3) wife's potato ($3), loaded ($3) and steak sauce ($3). Next day, we were notified by Open Table that they report us as a no-show for our reservation, jeopardizing our ability to our ability to use that site for reservations at a good restaurant. Celebrated our 52nd Anniversary at Nevada Steak House inside the Tamarack Casino. The service, food and ambiance exceeded expectations. We arrived a little earlier than our reservations but the very nice a professional host greeted us and seated us immediately. He asked if we were celebrating a special event, we told him it was our 52nd Anniversary. When our waitress arrived she was fully informed that it was our Anniversary. She knew the menu very well and explained all the specials and regular items offered. She was very attentive throughout the meal as was her assistants. She had a great personality and excellent customer service skills. I had the French Onion soup and it was a little on the sweet side, very tasty and nice and hot. It had amble amount of onions, cheese and bread slice. My wife had the Lobster Bisque which was very well presented and very flavorful. Prior to our soup we received a nice mini loaf of bread and a relish plate full of little goodies. I ordered the Ribeye with loaded baked potato, my wife ordered the beef filet with lobster tail, the lobster tail was large and cooked to perfection. Both our steaks were prepared exactly the way we ordered it. The only item that needed attention was the baked garlic, they were over cooked so they could not be removed like butter. They need to work on that item. Since it was our Anniversary they comp us a dessert, we chose the crème brûlée that also was excellent. The meal was large enough to take half of it home for tonight's dinner. It's expensive, however you get what you pay for, the beef and lobster was very high quality products. They did have Sunset specials that could have saved about half the cost, we decided to splurge since it was our Anniversary. Yes we will be back. read more
