I'm only giving 4 stars this trip, I've never had an issue with happy hour seating. There were plenty of spaces at the bar but the two hostess at the podium said it would be at least a 20 minute wait. We went back at 4:40pm as instructed and still plenty of room in the bar, but yet they still would not see us. It wasn't until I asked if we could just sit down and we would wait for the service even if they were behind at that point, they allowed us to sit at the bar and we were waited on right away with no issue. Adrian knows us and we are very good customers there. I think some things changed in management, Kevin the waiter who has been there since it opened is no longer there and you could feel a different vibe going on in the restaurant. The happy hour menu has changed and my husband's favorite Chardonnay is no longer included, but Adrian bought him a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc which was very tasty for $8. Adrian is a wonderful bartender and we enjoy his service! Sad to hear Jenna moved on too! Why is it all the good people leave, but then you have Quincy at the chandelier bar yelling at customers, not serving customers, telling you he won't serve her until it's convenient for him. After multiple visits, I can say; the atmosphere is beautiful and elegant. The staff are very professional and attentive but unfortunately the food is just ok. I've tried it on different occasions thinking maybe the food was just off for that day...... nope it's been consistently just "OK." I ordered the sea bass, and it tasted like absolutely nothing. Bland and no flavor, after adding salt and pepper it was just ok. The risotto was mushy and crunchy at the same time. I can say the mushroom gravy was great and had lots of flavor but I didn't come to eat just gravy. We also had a side of Brussel Sprouts, and I was so disappointed.... I love a good Brussel sprout, especially when they are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Unfortunately these tasted like candy..... extremely sweet and I'm not sure why, they weren't edible unless you like sweet vegetables. I personally didn't not enjoy them at all. I was surprised by how good the food and service was here. We had a small wait even with a reservation and when we came in it wasn't that busy. The waiter we had was great, his name was Oscar, very personable. We ordered the grilled oyster for appetizer, they were tasty. We had the clam chowder, this was also very tasty, it had pork rind crumbles. I ordered the short ribs with the kimchi mashed potatoes and bok choy. The portion size was large compared to what we have seen at steak houses. This was also very good. The food came out on the slower side but you may not mind if you're in good company. I can't believe I haven't updated my review. Brought a friend here for dinner. There were three of us. My friend and I had the 6-oz Filet Mignon USDA. I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. Love this place. We have been here for dinner and happy hour. Both are fantastic. I love that the menu rotates and it keeps it fresh and interesting. The prime rib burger is top notch! Albeit there was a rush, apparently right when they opened and the hostess allowed multiple people to be seated all at once, the male bartender handled it very poorly and clearly does not work well under pressure. He was simply unprofessional, use profanity, and threw a fit when asked if the TV could be changed. Duke's Steakhouse is absolutely a first class experience and they do not miss a beat! We arrived timely with our reservations and were greeted and were sat immediately. As you approach the entry the bar has an amazing display of wine bottles and the dinning room is filled with warmth and pride by the staff. Watch for the beautiful display of desserts on the way. We started with the shellfish tower for two, which comes with oysters on half shell, lobster tail, jumbo prawns, crab meat, yellowfin tuna, ceviche (which was so perfectly prepared) the ceviche had all the flavors and you can also order as an appetizer which I highly recommend. There were three of us and the Shellfish Tower was the perfect amount to share. The Burrata salad was quite good and also tried the iceberg lettuce wedge (which they will chop for you). We ordered the 10 ounce filet mignon which was accompanied by mascarpone mashed potatoes, grilled broccolini and carrots. Quality/Quantity - House Bread - This was so good that we had to have two orders and we took our leftovers to-go. Baked Oysters - So good, I can recommend them! Even my wife enjoyed it. Seared Tuna Tower - We eat a lot of poke/sushi, so I never order this. But my wife continues to love it. And theirs was better than expected. We both enjoyed it. Braised Short Rib Mushrooms - 3 to an order. Another recommended item. Actually, this probably tied with the oysters as our favorite dish. Wild Mushroom Ravioli - Actually, this would have been my favorite dish if it came with more than 3 raviolis... It was really good but not really worth the $11. That came out to $3.67 a ravioli, lol. Wasn't a huge deal but definitely unexpected as its not readily stated on the website when you click social hour. We ordered two drinks to start. Mine cane and had what looked to be a bug in it. They took it back but then told me it was actually "pear puree" but were remaking for me. Not sure ive seen small black bits in a pear before but they remade it and it tasted good the second time around. Our service continued to be subpar. We ordered the crab cakes for appetizers which came out fast but then we had to wait a while for the soup and salad. Once it came out they wrongly brought us 2 soups instead of one each, tried to fix it but still brought wrong dressing. I just ate it because at that point i was getting too hungry. Our meal then took a little longer, which we were given a heads up since the cordon blue is "made to order". The food was good when it finally came out. We had also ordered the short ribs. I will say there were also some other tables who ended up just paying for what came out and left early because they couldn't wait any longer. Food was good but the service did not match the price point Duke's is charging at. We came here as a group of four with a 7:45 pm reservation from OpenTable. We checked in 10 minutes prior. We came back at our reservation time and were promptly seated. The drinks and appetizers were pretty good with no complaints from the group. My only small annoyance was that the they ran out of prime rib, which I love and was super looking forward to. Ugh. But the suggestion from the waitress of the rib eye was a good substitute. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a nice change of pace going to a steak house where the sides are included and not a la carte. Dukes is a hidden gem in Reno. I did not have high expectations but it blew everything away. I loved the vibe of the restaurant. The music was at the perfect volume and played classic songs but on violin. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. It's always an enjoyable night with Fritzie W. and great meal. On a late evening back in August we took part in a Yelp Event for Duke's Steakhouse. Everyone in attendance was dressed to the nines. It was cool to see Ashley T. there that evening. I think we just missed Michael. The staff there were professional and courteous. Their signature cocktail drinks were great for example the Lemon Drop like Fritzie had. Although I prefer Jack and Coke myself Fritzie I'd had a few sips of her drink and enjoyed it. From what I recall that evening the ambience was jovial, with laughs all around. The ambient music made the night feel very debonair. On that evening we enjoyed some of their appetizers like the Mini Beef Wellington and Oysters on a half shell along with some crab cakes and Peppered Ahi! You can't go wrong either with their Braised Short Rib Dinner, nor their Prime Rib. We have have splurged a bit. Decide to leave due to lack of menu items and as we were leaving saw another man getting served his dinner and the waiter said "we are out of baked potatoes so I replaced with mashed," and the man said "but I ordered rice..." Last issue is the regular and prime price options for the choices of steaks. Makes for an awkward experience for others when ordering when you're not the one paying! We did not make a reservation for so the two of us sat at the bar. We enjoyed the amazing happy hour, which is from 4:00-5:30. We each ordered 2 Gin Whispers because they are so good. My new favorite drink. I know we shouldn't have, but we also ordered on the happy hour menu the baked oysters and the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was way overcooked so it was hard to chew. Would not get that again. The oysters were pretty good but not my favorite. They have three other types of oyster appetizers, but they are not on the happy hour menu. We then had the French onion soup and the lobster bisque. My BF thought the French onion soup was good, but not the best he's ever had. I had the lobster bisque which was perfect. We did have to wait at least a half an hour for the soup to come after the appetizers, but it was worth it. The bartender told us that they had burned the first lobster bisque and had to redo it, which I appreciated. My BF was too full to have an entrée, but even though I was full, I wanted to try the Seabass that was cooked in a in parchment paper. Again, the kitchen was very busy and we had to wait about 45 minutes after the soup for the Seabass entrée. By that point, the fact that I was so full was really setting in and I tried to recall the entree if they hadn't started it, but I was told they had. The Seabass did come and it was amazing. It was creamy and flavorful and the fish was cooked perfectly. I really wish I was full enough to finish all the side vegetables but just couldn't do it, however, I did manage to eat all the fish. The customer service at the bar was superb. Our bartender was destiny. She was very attentive and thorough and friendly, even with it being very, very busy. Delicious! A great place for a date. We had a 730pm reservation on a Friday and were promptly seated. Duke's is beautifully decorated making for a very exquisite dining experience right from the start. Sarai was our waitress and she was perfection. Attentative and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the prickly pear margartia. Loved it. Next I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare, with chimchurri sauce and mashed potatoes and the clam chowder as an appetizer. Now, my mom makes the best clam chowder but this came pretty darn close and that is saying A LOT! Rich and creamy. It was also so filling I asked them to box up half otherwise I wouldn't have room for my entree. My steak arrived and as soon as I cut into it I said, oh this cooked just right! The chimchurri sauce was an excellent complement. My date had the boneless rib eye with peppercorn red wine sauce, loaded baked potato and house salad. He said the rib eye was tender and very good. I sampled his sauce and it was very flavorful without being too heavy on the pepper. Highly recommend. Caden and Kevin helped us with our substantial amount of leftovers. They even gave me a fresh batch of clam chowder and the sauces. Everything was perfectly packed for transport and made a great second meal the next day. Duke Steakhouse has that classic steak house feel with modern decor. The experience is further enjoyed by seeing servers prepping different dishes table side. From the moment we sat done our server was very attentive and informative about the specials and menu. They immediately brought out a bread basket with 3 kinds of bread and each was delicious and warm. For my main meal I had the 16 oz choice Ribeye requested at medium and a side of mushrooms. I also got the soup of the day to start off which was the clam chowder. The clam chowder was super tasty and d one of the best i ever had on this side of the Mississippi. Unfortunately about a 3rd of the steak, on the tail end, was overcooked hover the cap and piece of filet closer to the cap was perfectly cooked. Overall it was a really good steak with good flavor as it is cooked over a wood grill. The mashed potatoes were also super tasty and the mushrooms were really good and well cooked. We both were off work a little early and thought....let's try Dukes for their Happy Hour! We love us a good Happy Hour to get a feel of a place. Especially when the place is a higher end dining experience like a Steakhouse. We arrived and were taken directly to the bar. A very nice and wide bar with tons of different bottles ready to be mixed into a cocktail. We of course were there for happy hour so I tried the Howard Hughes "Aviator". It was a perfect sipping drink. Not too sweet and even though it was loaded with booze it didn't taste too boozy. I loved the lavender color as well. From there we ordered up all of the things on the menu that piqued our interest. The chefs special salad that night was a chopped salad with corn. We also got the weekly special of BBQ shrimp on a bed of mashed potatoes. Their famous mini Beef Wellingtons as well as the Seared Aha were the items that we just had to try. To be honest. Nothing wowed me from all of these choices. They weren't bad in any way, but just not to the level I would expect from a steakhouse of this caliber. The shrimp were fine and the potatoes under them were pretty good. The best of the dishes was probably Seared Ahi. We did eat it all. And we saved just enough room to share a dessert. And that dessert was the STAR of the night. Raspberry Bread Pudding. It had little chocolate straws on the top as well as a little dollop of ice cream. It was so perfect we were talking about it the next day. The place was pretty busy so the service was fine considering they seemed to only have 2 people taking care of the entire bar. Would I go back? Probably not unless someone else wanted to go. And I definitely would probably just order off the regular menu. read more

Service was excellent and friendly. Oscar was very efficient. I recommend making a reservation. It was a nice and cozy restaurant. The bread was delicious. Fried calamari was a bit salty. New England Clam Chowder was very tasty. Main dishes are prime rib, rib eye and chicken cordin Bleu. All were very delicious. The entire crew was top-notch. We will definitely come back. read more
