I'm only giving 4 stars this trip, I've never had an issue with happy hour seating. There were…read moreplenty of spaces at the bar but the two hostess at the podium said it would be at least a 20 minute wait. We went back at 4:40pm as instructed and still plenty of room in the bar, but yet they still would not see us. It wasn't until I asked if we could just sit down and we would wait for the service even if they were behind at that point, they allowed us to sit at the bar and we were waited on right away with no issue. Adrian knows us and we are very good customers there. I think some things changed in management, Kevin the waiter who has been there since it opened is no longer there and you could feel a different vibe going on in the restaurant. The happy hour menu has changed and my husband's favorite Chardonnay is no longer included, but Adrian bought him a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc which was very tasty for $8. Adrian is a wonderful bartender and we enjoy his service! Sad to hear Jenna moved on too! Why is it all the good people leave, but then you have Quincy at the chandelier bar yelling at customers, not serving customers, telling you he won't serve her until it's convenient for him. Thank goodness Larry was working at the sports bar after happy hour! He is a great guy and works so hard for the casino and his customers!

I heard a little buzz about this steak house and was skeptical but thought what the heck. So glad I did because it's great. So reasonably priced, good service and delectable dishes. You need to make a reservation, they are a small staff and do not fill the restaurant and do not take walk ins if reservations are full. They actually just stop excepting people so they don't over extend themselves. I watched them turn numerous people away. Love that they focus on what they know they can handle. First visit, my husband and I shared the Escargot, mushroom appetizers and twin lobster tails and ribeye dinners. Meals are served with bread and a large fresh salad, a starch and veggie. The apps lacked a little salt and escargot had a little too much garlic that was not cooked down enough but still edible. If they sautéed or roast the garlic a little longer it would get the savory garlicky butter flavor a bit better but it also needed salt. Toast points would set this off. The mushrooms were fantastic, again it just needed a little salt. Salads were large, crisp and super cold on chilled plates (my fav) and the house balsamic vinaigrette is phenomenal. We decided to skip the starch and just had sautéed veggies and our entrees were so delightful. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned ribeye and the twin lobster tails were perfect! Both entrees were Juicy, moist and full of flavor. Service is good and personable . It's a small staff and they serve as a team. The restaurant itself is dated and could use tweaking but did not affect our experience. Visit #1 for 2 people with premium cocktails under $150 with a very good tip! Solid score. Visit #2 just a couple weeks later... this time with friends we got escargot and mushrooms again but added lobster bisque and shrimp cocktail. Delicious! Mushrooms were great, shrimp cocktail were fresh and snappy. The housemade cocktail sauce is good just heavy on the horseradish. The lobster bisque was fantastic and had tons of chunky bits of lobster. I tried the escargot again because it's one of my favorite dishes and I wanted to see if they were just off on the previous visit. It's definitely a preparation flaw. There is just too much garlic and Is just too raw and salt is still lacking. It would be a super easy fix and pleas, please, please add toast points to sop it all up! We all had twin lobster tails and got different starches to share. Fantastic Again!!!! Perfectly cooked tails. Delicious, juicy succulent tails. Garlic mash- yum! Rice pilaf- yum! Backed potatoe- yum! Salads were fresh, crisp and cold. We shared desserts and got a bananas foster and a campfire s'more. This was the worst part of the meal but still pretty good. Bananas foster is not table side prep but bananas were brûléed/candied and was the star of the dish. The s'mores were not really s'mores but were tasty nonetheless. The marshmallows were charred perfectly. I personally would forego dessert for another lobster tail, lol. We also had a couple rounds of martinis so I forgot to take more pictures past the appetizer course they were a little busier on this night so service was slower but still good. Visit #2 - 4 people under $350 with appetizers, entrées, two rounds of premium martinis and 2 shared desserts. Great job Sun Valley Steakhouse! I will be visiting again soon to try some different dishes. Excellent food, very reasonable price, good service with decent ambiance. This is a solid, solid spot and I am loving it!

My job recently sent me through Sun Valley many times a day. I saw the building, noticed the 2-story parking garage and the large, well-lit parking lot, and always something interesting on the marquee. So, on a bright Saturday morning that allowed me a day to enjoy sleeping in, I decided I was gonna finally get up to Hobey's for breakfast. I was impressed with the layout of the casino floor; a short straight walk to the Cafe entrance. A warm, inviting acknowledgment at the podium, and I'm seated right away. Within a few minutes, a super-friendly waitress is at my table pointing out their new menu... and the Breakfast Specials. I chose the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and a Side Order of B&G's; I plan to have leftovers. I made a wise decision. The gravy is your typical cafe-style, white and creamy, but I swear I could taste a little extra Chef Love. A secret ingredient, maybe. My coffee cup was NEVER empty, and I didn't feel rushed to finish my meal. It was a morning well spent.

Start by walking in the doors and immediately have to maneuver through a maze/glut of slots to get anywhere. They removed the smoke cleansing machines & now it smells & looks like an opium den. The foul odor of tobacco now permeates itself right into their dining room. They've moved every booth & table for reasons known only to the thoughtless management. They removed the seniors & youngsters items from the menu, cut the choices by at least by 50% & of course raised the prices. They even removed the recently remodeled bathroom's from the restaurant. Now you have to walk all the way back to the building's entrance to find one. Let's not dare mention the destruction of employee morale and removal of their employment benefits. Perhaps they should concentrate their growth to Las Vegas where people don't know any better or don't care. They have ruined a locally owned business with their corperate greed, lack of thoughtfulness or concern for what the local community, the ones keeping them in business, actually wants.. My experience was quite different, we had a party of six celebrating a very special occasion. Thinking this Steakhouse is rated 4 stars we thought we couldn't go wrong, that was our first mistake. Of the first 5 salads brought out they had to take em back because of the 'off' odor. Our server explained that maybe it was the radishes (not what I would expect from a four star steakhouse). When the entrées came out three people had ordered filet mignon's, which I was told was very tasty. One of the patrons had ordered New York strip (three of us confirmed that) and was given and charged for a filet mignon rather than taking it back to the kitchen and giving the patron what they ordered. It was unfortunate, but the service in my opinion was not four-star they did check on us occasionally and kept the water glasses full and 'maybe' they even asked if everything was OK. Not wanting to spend $60 for a steak (I was a guest) I ordered the seafood roast. It turned out to be a very tasty bisque, but a tasty bowl of soup shouldn't cost $35.00. Give em try if you want to gamble on a great experience. My recommendation is to go to Western Steakhouse, enjoy the much better ambience, 120% better experience for maybe 10% more. You do you, all six of us know where we'll go next time.
