Great steak house inside the casino. Feels like one of the open air steak spots you would get in a typical casino but this one felt a little more intimate. Everyone was polite, helpful and fun to chat with. Even got a steak to go for my dog's birthday. Worth it!

Consistently good food, lovely ambience, and amazing service! I usually end up eating off the appetizer menu when I am by myself, but I can't say the French onion soup and the shrimp cocktail are good

The salmon is my favorite and that sourdough HOT bread is the best!

We love this place! The ambiance is ideal as long as you are not there on a game night. Last night was rough. The salmon is so perfect ever time. Crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The sourdough is hot and salted butter is delicious. Be careful not to eat too much before your meal comes. The Sunset meals is amazing and for $29! Amazing value!

Causal steakhouse in south Reno. Food is always great. I like the vegetables and dip they bring out as a starter. I wish they were more like a traditional steakhouse where a soup/salad is included with entree, but otherwise great experience!

The Sunset Menu was absolutely delicious. The relish plate was a unique and delightful touch. Both our entrees and dessert were incredibly tasty. The service was outstanding.

Tamarack steakhouse is called NV steakhouse. We came for Christmas Eve dinner and it was very crowded but the ambiance. is very nice. Beautifully decorated and separated from the casino, which is nice. The bread was out of this world! Maybe the best fresh sourdough that I've ever had! After that it wasn't great for me. I ordered the halibut, and it came out cold and tough enough that I needed a steak knife to cut it. I ordered sticky toffee pudding to make myself happy after a bad meal, but that was equally terrible. Shocking! Usually, desserts will be super yummy and indulgent at a steak house, but it was as dry as powder. Very expensive meal and super disappointing. Our waiter was funny and sweet and perfect. The pork chop (which we all tasted) was amazing!

That was fine so as soon as we turned around to sit in the lobby, the guy called us and said he happened to find a table for two. So we were sat immediately. This is the busiest I've ever seen this restaurant. Pretty much every table, and they have lots of tables, was full. Braden was our server and he was at our table within five minutes. Considering how busy the place was, that was awesome. He took our drink orders asked if we actually knew what we wanted to eat, which we didn't, and so he went to get our drinks while we looked at the menu. What we ordered: 25 ounce Cadillac margarita Frolic in the sand Shots of tequila (Herradura) 20 ounce prime rib, medium rare Lobster tail Jacketed baked potato Sautéed mushrooms The food arrived quickly. The prime rib was perfect. Lobster, mushrooms. Everything was just so darn good. The star of the show was the server Braden. He was friendly and a little entertaining. Even though the place was super busy, he took the time to talk with us and make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our evening. I will definitely ask for him next time we come in here as he was that good. When the food and drinks are consistent, sometimes the only difference of a good visit versus an average visit is the server. He was perfect. Still some of the best prices in town for a steak/prime rib. Comfortable. Nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back again and again. Final note: don't forget to pick up the gift card at Costco to get $20 off 100...

Ruby River Steakhouse - Reno…read more The staff was genuinely friendly and doing their best, but it was very clear they were severely understaffed. Nearly every other table was covered with dirty dishes, and behind the bar there were multiple tubs of dishes and trash visible on the floor. The bartender was very nice, but he was also acting as the manager for the night, which meant he was constantly being pulled away. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. The calamari was burned on the outside, mushy on the inside, and lacked flavor. The steak and avocado egg rolls were just okay--the filling was fine, but the sauce was overly salty. We also ordered the artichoke dip, which came with plenty of garlic bread, though it felt hastily thrown together. I ordered a prime rib around 7:00 p.m. and was told they were already out, which was surprising for a steakhouse at that hour. The final straw was the restroom. It smelled strongly like sewer, the toilet wouldn't flush because the lever didn't work, and the floor was filthy. It was honestly pretty disgusting. This place used to be a regular stop for me when visiting Reno, so it's really disappointing to see how far it's declined. I hope management can get staffing, cleanliness, and food quality back to where they used to be.

Our server Forest was great he explained the menu to us and advised what was covered in the happy hour. The food was also good, the bread basket was the best. Not sure who the haters are but maybe they lost money in the casino. In the many time I have eaten there, it's always been good to great, and last night was GREAT! My buddy Mike and I make this a mandatory stop when he comes into town, so thanks, buddy, because I was gleefully pleased (and stuffed) when we finally waddled out after a truly enjoyable 2 1/2 hours. The Food: The bread basket and 2 types of butter is always a great way to start and the selection is tasty. Just have to be careful not to overindulge and ruin what follows. The pacing at Charlie's is welcome as they are not trying to turn tables quickly and allow you to enjoy each offering. Mike had the Cobb salad which is always a treat. Next up came the unexpected little mini short rib pies in a delectable crust. Three bites of pure heaven! We could have eaten 12 each and called it a night. A wonderful pallet cleanser of liquid sorbet followed as a prequel to our mains. Mike had the bone in pork chop which he gave a 9/10 to and I had the 6oz duck breast special over succotash cooked to a perfect medium. YUMMMMM!!! Some of the best succotash I've had and the duck was perfect. I ordered two sides, the roasted carrots and the baby summer squash, which again, were perfectly cooked and delicious. Now borderline too full for dessert, a glance at the menu and we couldn't resist. Sorbet for Mike and the deconstructed chocolate banana cream pie for me. I couldn't help myself and devoured the whole thing! We polished off a beautiful Willamette Valley Pinot and sat back and relaxed. The Ambience: For a casino steak house i think it shines pretty well. Fairly light and modern, and classy but not over the top. The spacing of the tables is excellent, so you are not abused by other people's conversations. A wonderful place for a date, I suppose. The Service: OK, this is where the 5 star rating really takes place. Being a great server I feel has become a lost art. Probably the main reason Mike and I make this a regular stop isn't the excellent food, but the friendship we have created with Donovan! He shines at his craft on a higher level than any restaurant I have visited. He's funny, concise, informative, etc.... Pure precision and perfection from start to finish. I'm honored to be able to consider him a friend, and it brings the dining experience to the uppermost level! Thanks Buddy. Probably a good idea to ask for his section when you dine there and you will understand. As always, will look forward to my next visit to Charlie's in a month or so. Cheers, JimG

We had made reservations and were greeted immediately when we got there and seated right away in a very nice booth . We had Jeff , Tony , Gary were our waiters and man they were top notch excellent. Very attentive and made sure we had a great experience. We ordered drinks - I had a Smoked old fashioned (see video) and wifey had a gin lemon drop. Both were delicious. We started off with Stuffed mushrooms and Lobster Bisque. I'm not a huge mushroom fan, but these were pretty good. The lobster biscuit had a lot of flavor and decent amount of lobster. For main we ordered the Trio Wagyu that consisted of Australian , American , Japanese. Sides were Lobster mashed potatoes and Brussel Sprouts . Man everything was sooooo good . Our fav of the trio was the Australian Wagyu it was so good . As a surprise they gave us some chocolates and a little cake for our anniversary. This was definitely worth it especially for. As per pics you can see the ambiance is fancy , beautiful lighting and scenic screens in the middle was cool . Will be back Enjoy !!!!

The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Our most recent visit was dinner to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. It still maintains it's casual atmosphere. The entrance has shifted to the Ridge Street side of the building. A good decision. It always felt a bit cramped to check in in the bar area especially when they are busy. Dining area is now mostly in the back room. While the setting is casual, the food is upscale - including the burgers. They offer game meats, elk, kangaroo, venison, and wild boar, in addition to high end beef and a small selection of seafood. They also have a few vegetarian/vegan options. I had the Citrus Glazed Salmon with root vegetables and squash. It was very good. The salmon was fresh and and flaky and perfectly cooked. My husband had the Rock Candy Short Rib. He deemed it "acceptable" Mine was paired with a light dry Savengon Blanc. Service was good and our satisfaction was checked. I debated between a 4 or 5 star experience - I decided on 5 mostly due to the quality of the meal. Return visit? Yes.
