French Toast Is the best along with the peppered bacon.

My husband was feeling like rib dinner so he went an got take away from BJ!s. We haven't done take out there for a while. It was $44 for a rack of ribs and 2 sides plus corn bread. I remember back in the day when I first started going there it was like $14.99. Times sure have changed. I wish the ribs were more tender, the pork wasn't falling off the bone, but flavorful with the medium sauce. We had the potato salad and coleslaw. I remember when the sides came in much larger containers. We received 3 small pieces of corn bread, which is so yummy! I like the lunch special better, 3 nice size ribs and two sides with corn bread and a drink for less than $20.

Another amazing experience! Service is fast, friendly and informative. The aroma of fresh barbecue just permeates the air. It's fun to watch them work the "pass" where all the fresh cooked food comes out. It's an art!

Lunch special with ribs, pulled pork slider, and Kickass Fries.

This place is a Reno institution, and if you haven't had their food, you're missing out. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, perfect for a barbecue place. Everyone was really friendly. Our server, Kelsea, greeted us and took our drink order soon after we sat down. We both ordered one of the lunch specials that came with two ribs, a pulled pork slider, Kickass Fries, and a drink. It arrived quickly and was a lot of food. The ribs were meaty, the pork slider was overflowing with tender pulled pork, and the Kickass Fries were, well... kickass. If you've never had them, they're fries covered with a generous amount of pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and cheddar cheese, with sour cream on the side. If you order them off the main menu, they can also be customized several different ways. We were really happy with both the food and the service, and we'll definitely be back in the near future.

First time to BJs did not disappoint! Easy to find parking in this lowkey building right off 80. We went on a Saturday and had no wait. Service was attentive and very prompt. We got the brisket pretzel and 3 meat sample platter. The pretzel was amazing, crispy, and the chopped brisket was tender. The brisket was the star of the 3 meat sample platter as well - the sides were fine (beans and sweet potato crumble) but the meat was the real star. Fun interior, has the right vibes for a local bbq joint. Will be back to try the burgers!

Another first time try for me. Went in for dinnner. Had a great vibe walking in. Seated promptly and had our drinks. I chose the 2 meat platter with coleslaw and mashed potatoes n gravy. The meat was great. Especially the brisket. It just melted in my mouth. Coleslaw was crisp and creamy. The mashed potatoes were cold the gravy was hot. The server took it back and the second attempt was the same. Overall I enjoyed my dinner. Can't wait to go back for breakfast.

We had lunch there today to get our fave calamaris. But the funny thing (and frustrating) , was they failed to deliver it as our appetizer because they had problems in the kitchen. Someone must have not put the tab or maybe it was forgotten. Appetizers are suppose to be served before your entree. Anyway, things happen and we've been there several times and it does not stop us from going there. I ordered Shrimp Scampi. It was pretty good, though i'm not a fan of angel hair. But having that aside, it was decent taste but i wished they'd marinated the shrimp or else it would not have so much taste when mixed with noodles. I say 7/10.

Great Service, food, and atmosphere! Stopped by for some breakfast this go round and they did not disappoint. Well worth it so make sure to get out and support the local eateries that help make Northern Nevada the special place it is. Hey but don't take my word for it check it out for yourself.

This breakfast is delicious! I was blown away with the options. Everything I read made my mouth water. They also have great deals on mimosas! Which I am a huge fan of. The service is impeccable! Everyone kind and attentive! Felt like I was back in the south! The restaurant its self was rustic and felt homie. I truly enjoyed my time there.

What a wonderful evening at BJ's barbecue in Sparks Nevada, they were nine of us in our waitress was beyond great. She made sure we had all our orders and in all our drinks and kept calming around to make sure everything was all right with us all the food that we had we all stated it was delicious the ribs, the salad that pulled pork sandwiches they had a potato with pulled pork, sour cream and the kids all ate it so we definitely book could be going back because the place was crowded but our service was still outstanding. Thank you BJ's for a wonderful evening.

    Corned Beef with Coleslaw
    Rob Y.

My friend and I were wanting Corned beef being as though it was St. Patrick's Day . BJ's is a well known local favorite and I hadn't been here for a very long time. My friend practically lives on sandwiches so I trusted her judgement here. I have to admit I hadn't had a Corned Beef sandwich in a very long time. BJ's hadn't changed inside since I was there ions ago., which is fine. That down home Western theme works well with BBQ. We both ordered the Corned Beef on Rye which included a side, mine I ordered coleslaw and hers with fries. The waitress was very pleasant and provided us with extra napkins which we definitely needed. Our eyes popped out of our heads when the sandwiches arrived, they were generously piled with the beef on a nice marbled rye. It took a minute to cut it in half. And as I bit into it was tender and delicious. I spread on this great ground spicy mustard which made it even better. The coleslaw was really good with just the right balance of tart and sweet. Both of us could only finish half and Togo boxes were in order. I will make a comment about the price, over $20 dollars for that sandwich, but It definitely was enough for two meals and we both left extremely satisfied.

Great choice for your next BBQ meal. Ample parking is available. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. There are lots of options on the menu. The prices were fair for the amount of food we got. My husband and I went for lunch. We sat at the bar and had prompt friendly service. We placed our order and the server said the the food would be right out. She wasn't kidding!! We got our hot, delicious food within what seemed just a few minutes after we ordered. My husband ordered the Crazy Ass platter and I ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich with a side of mashed potatoes. We both opted for the mild sauce which didn't disappoint. We were both full fairly quickly and brought leftovers home. We will be sure to come back soon to try other items on the menu.

    Chicken Salad
    Valisha L.

I got the Chicken Salad. On the menu, it said "smoked chicken". So I was thinking because it's a BBQ restaurant, I'm thinking it's pulled chicken. This is the deli chicken meat. This salad was 20.00. The service was fine, but the salad was disappointing. Only if I can give 0 stars

    Beef Brisket and ribs

Craving bbq? This place has you covered. Great food at decent prices. It was a little crowded when we went so I'd recommend calling beforehand. We ordered a little bit of everything. The ribs were great as well as the brisket. The corn bread stood out as well. We'll be going back for sure soon.

Forgot to take a picture before digging in. Sweet potato crunch and bbq beans along side the chicken, brisket, and ribs.

The wedge was super fresh, the blue cheese dressing was lite with fresh crumbles of blue cheese, the chicken was grilled and had a hint of citrus. The staff and restaurant were lovely as always, and you really can't beat the views from dining on the outdoor patio overlooking the Marina. If you have general hesitations when it comes to buffet food, you can put them at ease when at the Water Bar, as even the typical 'filler food' like salad and mashed potatoes were out-of-this-world good. I'm not kidding when I say their buffet-style Caesar Salad was better than any made-to-order Caesar I've had. Same goes for their garlicy mashed potatoes, they were heavenly! The poached prawns were prepared perfectly, and the snow crab legs and claws were delicious and easy to eat (if you're used to shelling your own crab). The soy-glazed salmon with wild rice was surprisingly flavorful and melted in my mouth. Even the mac & cheese was rich and creamy- I can't think of a single item I tried that was sub-par. I ended the meal with a slice of carrot cake that I kept thinking about long after I left. It was moist and well-spiced with a very decadent frosting, the perfect end to a delicious brunch. I will say, we weren't aware the cost per person for the buffet was $80 (it wasn't displayed on the buffet menu, our server didn't share this when telling us about the buffet, and we didn't ask). We have no regrets on opting for the brunch buffet, as again all the food was truly incredible. However, an $80 price tag will likely keep us from opting for the brunch buffet again in the future.

I didn't try the ravioli but on to the worst of all.... My spaghetti bolognese. It was so salty and the noodles weren't spaghetti at all. It was similar to ramen noodles. I was pretty disappointed and only had a few bites. Seems to me like the cook may have put a ton of effort into the gnocchi and could have focused more on that spaghetti. I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the name of our waiter. He was such a delight and made sure we had a great time. This was a meal I will remember for a long time. Thank you to the staff at Duke's Steakhouse. When we showed up, we asked if we could sit at a table outside, the guy was a little overwhelmed, he said "I can sit you in 10 mins". I said "can we have this table". OK, but....just know I'll be with you as soon as I get caught up, I'm totally fine with that I said. . He bought us a couple menus to look over. Then a table on the railing with shade opened up, I didn't care about the table was dirty with dishes, so we decided to move. I love to look at the river and watch the people go by. The server said, I'll be over soon! He was never so happy when Sierra showed up to help him out. He came over to our table I said "I hope you don't mind, I moved to be in the shade, I know I'm one of those pain in the ass customers". Then he started joking with me and it was the perfect ice breaker. My server and part owner's name is Casey! He is an awesome guy and such a hard worker to ensure his customers are taken care of. I love that. We had a couple beers, he has quite the selection of beers on tap, he supports the community breweries such as Lead Dog and Revisions. You get a nice meal for $20. They have indoor, outdoor, bar seating. They have a little merch area and a gaming bar if you feel lucky. I know the Open Championship Bowlers are in town, if you're looking for nice comfort food "tavern style" location this is the place for you on the Reno Riverwalk 50 N Sierra. It upstairs.

My mom had an appointment off of Wells Avenue and we're pretty hungry by the time it was over so I…read morelooked on Yelp for some lunch options. I was definitely in the mood to try something new. After some searching The Spot is what caught our eye. Located by the river and where Reef and Smees used to be. including what you ordered or used, Since this was a new spot we decided to just order and share a ton of appetizers. This included: cup of cream of mushroom soup, pretzel bites, spinach dip, poutine fries and Brussel sprouts. 2/5 were a huge hit where the orders we would not try again. Cup of mushroom soup: cup size is a good appetizer portion, good mushroom taste but WAY too salty. Would not order again. Pretzel bites: SUPER YUM! Slightly crunchy at the corners and fluffy inside. Perfectly bite sized and great dips (cheese and mustard). Loved these and would absolutely order again. Spinach dip: not a fan. The one thing I did like about this is that the dip portion was extremely generous, but I was not a fan of the taste. For me it was like slightly watered down sour cream. You have the options of chips or baguette. We went with baguette and for the first time in my life, the dipping vessels were very scant compared to the amount of dip so if anyone orders this, I would recommend it with chips. Would not order again. Poutine fries: YUM! Definitely a shareable portion. Thin fries topped with yummy breaded cheese curds and piping hot gravy this was my favorite thing. The gravy was perfectly salted and I loved the breaded cheese curds. I do wish the fries were thicker, like a wedge cut but honestly these were insanely good. Will order again. Brussel sprouts: made with bacon which is always a must for that yummy flavor. Also drizzled with balsamic which is a win in my book. These were very tender and delicious but very oily or greasy which kind of gave me the ick but flavor was definitely there. Will not order again. We were seated immediately upon arriving and waters were brought out. Orders were taken quickly and food came out quick! However after the food came out, no one came to check on us, see how we were doing or clear plates. We were always having to flag someone down for refills, napkins and the check. It wasn't busy. The inside is clean, has a large bar area and outdoor seating. Also lots of TVs. I don't think I'll be returning, but I do recommend the poutine fries and pretzel bites. Things to note: Have to walk up stairs to enter. No private parking lot, have to street park and a lot of parking is metered. 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Saturday & free on Sundays / holidays.
