The Vaquero Tater Tots with Parmesan and garlic
    Christine G.

Stopped by this burger spot for dinner and I'm so glad we did! The best burger I've ever had. Hands down! We had THE VAQUERO garlic Parmesan tots. They were incredible! The best time I'm in Reno this is for sure one of my first stops! The service was fantastic too!

Really great burger first time at Beefys and it was great. I got to meet the Owner and talk to him really nice guy. I still need to go back and try more but that burger I had I really enjoyed. Thank Pat.

Cute little food truck in midtown. Friendly service and amazing food. I ordered the Nevadan which is basically their classic burger. I also ordered garlic fries. The burger was well seasoned and the fries were hot, fresh and delicious! I will absolutely be back

First off I have to say that the burger was perfect. I ordered the breakfast burger. Cooked medium egg with over medium as requested, and the bacon was good. There's a place gets one star though because I didn't check the prices. When I arrive the guy charge $24.95 that's correct a burger, some tater tots and a drink. I was pretty put off by this, but just left thinking holy crap this place has gotten expensive. When I arrived home to eat my burger, I decided to look up the prices and there was a menu posted from last month by peter H. $12.50 for the breakfast burger. $6.99 to upgrade it to a combo. Total price $19.50 ...My price: $24.95. I even asked on the phone if they had a combo special he said yes they did and asked me what I wanted to drink. Even if I was charged separately, I find it hard to believe that a drink and tater tots is $12. If there's up- charge for switching fries tots, the guy can say hey I'm gonna charge you five dollars extra.

This greasy spoon is a dive that is for sure- extremely cramped inside (we were in "the nook" and some other people sat down and put a stool in front of the only way we could get out which made me nervous of a grease fire breaking out heh). But honestly my burger and the fries were quite well prepared and the components of the burger were obviously fresh/ scratch made and well sourced (I would hope so, burger and fries is over $20 here). Glad I asked before I decided on what burger to try, as I was told the house sauce was a tartar sauce.. who puts tartar on a beef patty? Is it really a tartar sauce like gherkins and capers and tarragon? Or is it a mayonnaise with relish in it? Could you actually explain it if you work there? I don't know. Service was a little clunky, the owner had a weird conversation with his server about how to serve the customer in the middle of the restaurant for all to hear which was virtually; to let them wait, that's how we do it here lol

DO NOT COME HERE AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! They are trashy. Go from eating to cooking. Waited 1hour 52 minutes FOR ONE BURGER! Forgot pickles and tomato's on the one burger. Said they prioritize first come first serve which INCLUDES ONLINE ORDERS LIKE DOORDASH AND UBER EATS. There was only 4 people in the building total (2) being my friends and it took that long for one burger than after speaking to staff they got upset and said theres a 1 hour sign wait on doors. Frozen onion ring. 28.99 for a small burger than smaller or same size IN AND OUT. Food was nasty and not because it was sitting in grease gross because staff is eating. Do NOT COME HERE. IT IS NOT WHAT IT SAYS ON TV ITS NOT. !!!!! Asked staff how long they said 10 minutes and ended up being 58 more minutes.

I am officially declaring Beefy's the best burger joint in Reno! My wife and I have been discussing over the past few months what the best burger joint is in Reno. This includes not only the quality of the burger (most important) but fries, location, service, selection, consistency, the full package! We have determined that Beefy's meets all the marks, and is now the top recommendation if anyone asks where they should go for the best burger in Reno. Pat the owner is a bit of a character and I always appreciate his attention to service and the personality he brings to the experience. A huge plus I found on my last visit, they have a new bus to expand their seating, which has always been a bit of a struggle since it's a small diner. The bus has bench type seating with a TV, heating and cooling, and some neat decor. On this last visit, I opted to splurge and got the Pot Belly Burger which was so good, with Bacon, Ham and Pastrami included. My wife went with the Nevadan and would rate it a great standard burger with cheese. The Parmesan fries were a nice treat and one basket was more than enough for us. Always good beers on tap, we both got a local IPA that was refreshing. If you are looking for an authentic Diner with the best Burger in town, stop by Beefy's and you won't be disappointed!

Back open and better than ever! The remodel looks great (bathroom is much cleaner! The islander (used to be called the awesome lady) was better than before. So glad they were able to get their doors back open!

Solid! What a great burger joint. Small but ideal for a quick burger and beer. The bus outside is a cool niche seating area. Good service and cooks were cool. Really glad to have finally got to check it out.

A plethora of their food! (A burger with actual meat)

Beefy's was awesome (I say as a vegetarian, haha)! They were so accommodating to our large party and let us have the bus to ourselves. Despite the actual restaurant not being the kind of place, size-wise, where a large party should fit easily, the staff made sure we were able to get dinner there. We were a group of 12 celebrating my brother's graduation ceremony and they did a great job getting our order in and out to us in a timely manner. They also didn't make any mistakes with our orders which is really impressive because I think that can be difficult sometimes when ordering such a large quantity of food. Everyone in our party seemed super happy with the options available, this place is very accommodating diet-wise whether you choose to eat chicken, beef, or no-meat. I tried a chocolate-malt shake, the vaquero with a veggie patty and pepper jack cheese, and onion rings. Everything was absolutely delicious! The onion rings were the perfect amount of crispy and salty. The veggie burger was delicious, a little crisp and buttery-tasting, the fried jalapeños added a nice crunch and kick. I also really enjoyed the ranch, it was thick, creamy, and the right amount of salty. To sum it up, this place was amazing and the service was excellent.

We visited this place because my husband loves burgers, and I like fries. We sat inside without realizing they have these awesome bus tables outside. It's such a cool concept, having tables inside a bus! The atmosphere was really fun, with a nostalgic American vibe from the past. My husband, who's pretty picky about burgers, absolutely loved his. He mentioned he'd definitely go back to try another one. I enjoyed the fries and the delicious sauce they served us as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Loved my juicy onion burger, but the fried zucchini was so unique and delicious! The thick slices of zucchini kept their bite and were fried in a buffalo sauce batter, delcious to dip in the ranch! Friendly service as well

If you're looking for a good burger I definitely recommend Beefy's. Service is great, the restaurant is clean, and the food you order is exactly what you get with no surprises. The bus in front of the brick and mortar looks like a food truck, but it's been converted to sit and eat inside along the windows. The breakfast burger and mozzarella sticks were really good. My only complaint was that the garlic fries arrived more on the cold side and seemed more soggy than crispy.

I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

We ups recommend both of those. This is the problem--we ordered to go so we could take back to work. The first bite of the burrito was charred. Tasted that way. This burrito should have had only cheese, eggs, bacon, and potatoes. It was missing cheese (which, ironically, may have made the completely charred bacon doable). You'd think it'd be even easier to make, not having to cook sausage, too. This bacon was not just burned. It was inedible. Because the restaurant was now closed and we couldn't leave work, I had nothing but a horrible taste in my mouth. It looked so good. I like crispy bacon, the burrito was hot. this used to be an absolute favorite spot of mine. i actually had this reciew sitting in my drafts…read morewhen it closed: "best spot for a late night diner meal. great milkshakes. breakfast served at all times. food is alright, but definitely hits the spot if you're out in the middle of the night." however, with the re-opening, the diner closes at 2pm. there is a bar area that is open until 11, which has a much smaller menu and not the same charm. went for dinner the other night, the food was fine. it was much more of an okay sports bar menu. they were out of some things too. there are only a couple milkshake options. the gold 'n silver shake was amazing, but they don't give you the full diner-style tin anymore! the service was also fine. i'm looking forward to going back to try the re-opened diner side, but with the new hours, i'm not likely to go much anymore. i'm disappointed that a once regular spot of mine is now much less available. reno has very few late night dining options, and now we've lost our best one.

DON'T GO HERE until they get better staff!!! Kitchen / food runners lack integrity and the front…read moreof house staff is even worse! My girlfriend had an allergic reaction to the avocado toast after requesting no tomatoes. The server said the kitchen put tomatoes on it so she was having them remake it. They obviously just took the tomatoes off and sent it back out since her lips started swelling half way through the meal. After we got home an hour later my girlfriend had a severe stomach ache and threw up violently for about 15 minutes. Our server was one of the worst servers I've ever had. I regret that I gave her $5 on a $45 tab. I'm a bartender at a restaurant and have been in the industry for 10 years. It took over ten minutes to get water ( a nice lady came by ). Finally after AT LEAST 15-20 mins our server came by and talked to us for the first time and took our order. She specifically asked my girlfriend if she wanted her chocolate milk with everything or before, she answered before. My girlfriend asked for no tomatoes on the avocado toast since she has a mild allergy. Things that went wrong: - Server walked by numerous times ( no chocolate milk ) - Food took a long time ( not the biggest deal to me ) - The food runner came out with what looked like my exact order except it had hash browns instead of home fries, walked right past us, tried to deliver it to the table next to us. Complained about table numbers to the guests at that table then went on to try and give it to another table then gave up and went back to the kitchen - 5 mins later, still no food or chocolate milk - Server sees us and says she'll go get chocolate milk - Food finally gets delivered, we are missing the avocado toast, the server said she is having them remake it because they accidentally put tomatoes on it ( we say okay and aren't worried about it ) server also says to my girlfriend, "I'm just not sure how picky you are so I'm having them remake it" as she walks away. This kind of stunned my girlfriend. My order, the steak and eggs had hash browns after all. I didn't really care so I didn't say anything, no one checked in on us anyways. There was a smear of something red on my plate the size of a thumb. My dish had nothing red on it so obviously the food runner wasn't wiping off her hands. - hash browns were burnt black underneath - there was no spoon with the cottage cheese, my girlfriend ate it with her fork while waiting for the rest. - the avocado toast arrives, no toppings at all on it, again dropped off in a rush, my girlfriend told me it was supposed to have onions on it. She decides to eat it since no one checked in on us. - half way through both our dishes, chocolate milk finally gets delivered by our server, she kind of slammed it onto the table, avoided looking at us, didn't say anything, literally her head turned the other way and walked away in a rush. - my girlfriend says she thinks they just took the tomatoes off the avocado toast when she was half way through because her lips start having a reaction. She also says it tasted sour. I tasted it and also confirmed that it was likely avocados that were under ripe. - another server randomly comes by and slams two dishes onto our table, complaining about how hot the plates were, then readjusting her hands before taking the food to another table. - it was actually comical how bad all the staff were - our server closes out the table next to us, they complain about something, the server response is that they lost 2 chefs in the past couple days - server comes by after I'm done with my plate and gives us the bill - we both want to get out of there so I pay. The server then tries to chat with us briefly as I'm paying (not about our food or experience) Where was this service and attention during our entire meal?? I know she wasn't that busy because I could view the entire section as well as the server station where she was most the time. - my water never got refilled I left thirsty - we leave and go hang out at The Hub by the river, an hour later my girlfriend starts to get a really bad stomach ache. We go home and she starts throwing up violently in the bathroom. She didn't eat anything before and felt fine before we ate. We are not sure if it was the tomatoes or the avocados being under ripe or a combination of both. Long story short we are not going back for at least a couple years.
