I'm a sucker for a good bar-burger. The older and divey-er, the better. Beefy's didn't disappoint. They have a well developed burger menu with all the fixings plus all the sides and fried goods you could hope for. I ordered the Bacon bleu cheeseburger. Medium. It was perfectly cooked on a decent bun. I was very pkeased. Sidebar: a good burger needs a good bun. This bun was ok. Could have been better. Maybe even grilled. It sufficed but.... Onion rings were fresh, hot and crispy! Perfectly cooked. Overall I'll be back. Plus this venue has hosted our Michigan State Alumni group for watching games etc. in the past. Fantastic building, great decor- enclosed dining area in back , which also serves as the entrance. Building is so small and tight, you probably can't open the front door. Was greeted immediately and asked if ordering for here or to go. Handed a menu and was able to order quickly. Ordered the Nevadan, onion rings and chocolate malt. This was a real burger. Still consistent food and service. The seating is limited, but the staff accommodation still offers outdoors and indoors. I am from out of town and had been looking for a good burger spot. This place is really good definitely worth checking it out if you are on the fence. I got the onion burger and some chili cheese fries. Blew my taste buds away. I was really happy with the service the waitress was really nice and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my time in there. The ambience reminded me of a spot near the beach, it's a little tight inside but gets the job done. I havn't been here in a long time. Used to come here when it was Landrums,, and came here not long after it became Beefy's . After reading a fellow Elites review, I decided to try it again. There have been some improvements over the years. There is now an outside seating area, and luckily the inside is air conditioned! The friendly small diner vibe lives on! Mr Beefy himself was there, and took my order, while chatting with guests he clearly knew well. The menu has extensive burger options, sandwiches and Dogs. I got the Stetson with added jalapeños, and it was great, perfectly cooked and the blue cheese was robust and flavorful. The menu boasts "make any beer a float!" What a great idea! Adult beverage and dessert all in one. I chose Guinness as my beer, and I was not disappointed. Can't wait to come back and try a different beer float and burger! read more

this is a subpar on all fronts the food was not good. the one person that was taking orders for overwhelmed the taste of the burger was fair you have to go inside I had a can of soda and tots which between the the jet items and the burger came out to $24.95. This was an absolute deplorable experience on all fronts! The tater tots were fine, but for a can of soda and maybe 35 tots (not even that many), and a burger that was $24.95, it was dismal and just absolutely ridiculous. The person working the register was unable to open the register, so I technically ended up paying $40 because I had to leave because I had an appointment I had to get to. He called the owner/manager/whoever numerous times never got a response. Told him he could just void out the transaction. He doesn't have a manager override. Poorly run business, completely unacceptable! And has the appearance of being unclean and unkempt. Flies flying around the building on the outside. A unique and fun spot to grab a burger, beer and an amazing milkshake. I love how they repurposed a minibus in a dining area. I greatly appreciate the service from Pat who really romanced the milkshake machine squeeze out the last drops of a tasty maple syrup bacon milkshake. Yes, you read that right, bacon in a milkshake. What an experience. The bacon pieces do tend to clog the straw, so some spoon work will be necessary to finish the shake. They carry an eclectic variety of bottled microbrews. The fries were the better part of the meal but not outstanding. The burger was average to small in size, yet I didn't even finish it due to the lack of flavor and general ick over the sog. Highly disappointing due to the relatively high cost. Service was pleasant. A little slow, but it was fairly busy. Ambiance was lacking. I was lucky to get a parking spot in the tiny lot in the back. And it seemed that the back door was the only entrance, but I didn't venture to the front. There were picnic tables in the parking lot; they have it set up sort of cute. However, it IS the back of a restaurant with all the storage and trash bins, and there were a LOT of flies. Just nature, but not my first pick for where to dine. Found this place after another place we tried to go to couldn't open due to mechanical problems. Came to find a really small diner. Check-in is in the back, & you wait for someone to come out. As we discovered, going into the really tight quarters to try to find out exactly how things work doesn't actually get you acknowledged. After asking, we were finally told to find a table outside and given menus, found a kids menu to get ourselves. You either eat inside in cramped counter area or outside at 4 picnic tables under a big pop-up canopy. The outdoor area is in a back parking lot & several men walking in the area tried to talk to us, which was uncomfortable. We were kindly spoken to by a friendly staff member who was doing the rounds checking on everybody. Our waitress was proficient enough, but I didn't feel as though she actually gave a care. We ended up getting the pizza burger, the paniolo, a kids hot dog meal, and a side of poutine. The burgers (that don't come with a side) were smallish, pricey, but delicious. The hot dog was underwhelming for the price. The poutine was ok, not that flavorful. The fries in general needed to be cooked more because they weren't crisped up at all. I was disappointed that a sign said milkshakes weren't available on a hot day. My verdict--I wouldn't care to eat here again, wouldn't get a kids meal, but the burgers were quite tasty. Loved beefy before it closed for the remodel and loved it after except for the burgers are much smaller and you get less fries and the burger that we had today was very salty, which is a real bummer for us. Not sure how long this place has been around, but it has the feel of one of the OG burger joints in Reno. The burger selection is wild--they've got every combination you can think of. As you can see in older pictures, this place has changed. It's not just new management. The pride, taste, and quality of the food are all gone. I ordered a Philly Cheese Stake, and it wasn't even wasn't even worth taking a picture of. A basic bun, a small handful of meat that seemed microwaved, and I had to search for the cheese. We chose inside and sat at a corner bar, very cozy In my previous review I said I wanted to try the wings, so glad I did!! Was a little nervous about zesty garlic Buffalo. I'm usually a traditional Buffalo sauce girl. This sauce was great and plenty of it!!! I could have done without the green onions on top but I was able to remove them easily. I really want to give this place a 5 as I love a good neighbor dive. Let's start with the service, It was great. We were greeted by the owner and the place had a cool vibe. The food was ok. A place should not asks you how you want your burger cooked when they can not deliver, ordered medium and came very well, I order one of their canned beers but they were out of that, took about 10 minute to figure that out. My wife had to wait about 15 minutes to get her lemonade as they did not have a clean glass, they told us that. Over all the food was ok, we may try it again if we are in the area. read more

Very small parking lot, but I easily parked on Holcomb For $27 we got the lobster burger which had lobster in the burger as well as a lobster tail with drawn butter, fries & a drink Much more affordable burgers available, we just had to try this once. They have many hotdog options, sandwiches, and sides Lobster burger was their December monthly special, so call ahead and see what their special of the month is And the most important part is that it was a pretty decent burger. Didn't think I'd be able to finish it, but I did. By the time we got the food home zucchini fries were wimpy .. but that pretty much happens to all fries in transit. I hate leaving this but we did try to call to resolve and no one is answering the phones although we know they are open. Such a disappointment today. First, they were cleaning the ice cream machine today so no shakes. Second, after ordering two pizza burgers to go and waiting outside about 10 minutes for them, the young lady (who is very friendly and polite) came out and said they were out of marinara so no pizza burgers. We rolled with it, each of the boys ordered a different burger and I wasn't even going to mention that my son ordered a burger that was $2 cheaper, whatever it's all still good. Another few minutes, she brings us out to go order, I check to make sure there are two burgers and an order of garlic Parmesan fries. I see two burgers stacked on top of a thing of fries so figure we are good and we head home. Get home to indeed find the fries smashed under the burgers and they are very plain, no garlic, no Parmesan, fries. Which now I've overpaid by at least $5 because the garlic fries are about $8 for a single order. Tried to call to see if they could email us a credit back but no one is answering the phones. The boys still loved the burgers though, with my son saying it was better than In and Out. I should also mention as we were sitting there waiting for the food another guy (owner??) came out saying he couldn't find the to go boxes anywhere so they were out of those too. Just seems like they are a little disorganized there these days. I'm sure we will be back at some point because my son and his buddy love this place.
