Visited Mt Rose Wine on a Friday from 5-7pm with a group of 25 ladies. This was my first time there but I have been wanted to try it out for a while. This wine bar has a variety of wine from all around the world. Some expected wines from France and California, but also some more obscure ones from places such as Austria, so there is something for every taste! You can both order a wine by the glass or buy a bottle, which they will open for you to have onsite and that you can also take home if you don't finish it. Their prices are fair for a bottle and I wish I had done that instead of ordering a glass. The service was great! We had a huge group, yet the server was super patient and provided great recommendations to everyone. She was running around the whole time to take care of us and other patrons, but always did it with a smile on her face. I never felt rushed. They have limited snack options for purchase but allow you to bring in your own snacks as well. Finally, the space. It is on the smaller size but we were able to fit our group in without issues, while still leaving some open tables for other patrons. They also provide service on a handful of outdoor tables. The only minor issue is they had live music which felt quite loud in such a small place, but when asked, they were able to lower the volume a bit which was very nice of them! read more

Located in the Hayden Summit, next to the ice cream place. Outdoor seating area is reserved for customers. I think the wines are a little pricey and most I have not heard of. That's ok as we have a lot of wine available in our region. We had a Quinto do Infantado and a Le Chant Rouge. We were close to closing time so not much time to browse unfortunately (our fault). It usually has quite a few people when we visit. I think if the wines were more reasonably priced we would visit more often. The walls are filled with all sorts of choices and varieties. Upon waiting for our ice cream order next door we decided to pop in and check it out and wow, we spent a very memorable hour or so with the owners Tony and Amanda. To our surprise the place was very inviting and the crew was fabulous. After having a warm welcome, a glass of wine, and good conversation, we left feeling like we made friends! As I was (and still am) a member of too many wineries in CA. Quality/Quantity - Good size location. Many wines to choose from, well known brand names and small batch wineries. Atmosphere - A medium size welcoming wine shop. Bar, counter, table and outside seating. Plenty of mall parking. Open 5 days a week from 2-7pm Wednesdays to Saturdays, 1-5pm on Sundays, and closed Mondays & Tuesdays. Service - Meet Lacie today, so nice and welcoming. Told her I just walked by (while my wife was shopping) and had never seen this place before. As it was too early for me to drink (can you believe I just said that?), she let me look around and take pictures. Have to re-review as they have new owners, Anthony and Amanda. I must say, they make you feel like family when you step into the place. Love the new additional seating arrangement as well as the expanded hours. The TVs, showing scenes from places around the world as well as having cocktails available adds to the experience. This was not my kind of place. Like a warehouse converted into a winebar, very cold and not very comfortable furniture. Super reflective surfaces made for an echo chamber environment. didnt feel like a place to hang out and relax. They had a lot of nice wines on the retail side but served weird wines that some wern't so good at the wine bar. Didn't seem to have the kind of vibe I was looking for. I love to go in for a glass of wine after a long day at work or a nice Sunday afternoon. Mt Rose Wine is bright and beautiful and the owners Doug and Lacie are delightful. They talk with everyone and are so warm and inviting that you feel like you are part of one big family. The wine selection is different from so many other wine bars, and has price points for all types of buyers. They have some really fun snacks to share, but my favorite is some sort of twisted pretzel with a spicy flavoring. I love that they are so involved in the community and have already done a number of events to help sponsor different groups, including Veterans. My new favorite place to drink wine in Reno (Craft in midtown is 2nd). The owners are phenomenal. They know their wine and have a great selection to taste and to buy (all at reasonable prices). I love that they have wines I know and love as well as stuff I've never tried. Also they have tasting events where you can learn about a winery or type of wine. I love these kinds of events as they create community. The space is also super cute inside and they have outside tables. Perfect spot to take a break from shopping at the summit or after a day of skiing or just because it's fun to drink wine! read more

Is mount rose win co even open? They have awful hours that they switch often and to top it off when you call to talk to anyone they never answer and don't have a voicemail set up. Great selection of moderately priced wines. They tend to carry lesser known wineries and interesting wines instead of just the big names you can everywhere. Wine Club is a great deal and great for trying new stuff. read more
