I've been here once before, but it was a quick stop with a group of friends. There was a band playing, we had a few drinks and then we left. Tonight though, my husband and I arrived at around 6:30 p.m., on a Saturday. There was a nice crowd, but we were still able to get seats at the bar. Both Bartenders were friendly and very attentive, even taking the time to make conversation with us. My Husband had Wine and I tried the Cinderella Mocktail, which was really good. This would have been a 5 star review if the pricing was correct. If you are following, you KNOW this is happening too often and becoming a pet peeve for me. I think we met some new friends. Okay, for the food, we got the following: Crab Cake - Not firm enough for me. Broke apart when we picked it up. Can not recommend. I think it needed to be pan fried a little longer, similar to the french fries. Flat Bread - Spinach, artichoke, tomato. Wow! A home run! I love the crust! Made well, good proportions with toppings, fresh, etc! I will come back for this and maybe even bring my wife, lol. We started at Zephyr Wine Bar, but you know that because you are following. This is what we ordered: Flight - Sauvignon Blanc from Chili, Barbera from Italy, Beaujolais from France. Nice selection. Three glasses of Merlot, France. Two glasses of Cabernet. Atmosphere - Love the friendly atmosphere. Also crazy busy! Today the band really drew a huge crowd. A more elderly crowd, and I am told this is normal. Decent size location, like the remodel from the new owners (approximately 3 years ago...?); see pictures. Plenty of mall parking, but then again we also got here at 5pm, lol. Daily entertainment, see pictures and their website. Open 7 days a week, see their website and the pictures. But mainly for the evening crowd. Clean restrooms. But only one men's stall is NOT enough for a huge crowd like this. Always a line. Service - 5 stars, see above. I did not bring this to their attention, but they really should update the fine print; especially since this is a current pet peeve of mine!! Sunday evening, a couple girlfriends and I decided to come here for snacks and a drink. The atmosphere is always so lively when I come here. They had a band on stage, saxophone, keyboard and clarinet. Some of the older folks were dancing and everyone seemed to be having a good time. My husband and I came here recently for a date night because we saw an ad that mentioned live jazz on Sundays. When we walked in, i realized it had been a quite few years since we had last been here because it looks completely different now -- and for the better! It's sleek yet cozy with nice subtle lighting. And the stage has moved to the right side of the door as you walk in. It's a popular destination with nearly every seat taken by the time we left. My husband and I sat at the bar where we had a good view of the band. Made up of talented musicians, the band played lively jazz standards along with more modern tunes. We had a couple drinks (IPA for him, a yummy lemon drop for me). We also ordered a couple dishes to share - the Spicy Italian Salad (it was ok) and the Spinach, Artichoke, and Tomato flatbread (very tasty). The band was playing oldies (that means 60s kids) and even though I'm an 80s girl i definitely still wanted to get out on the dance floor to "be my baby" and "will you still love me tomorrow". Hubs got me a moscato (didn't look at menu just asked for whatever they had so I'm not sure!) and I really enjoyed it as my quasi dessert. After going to first Thursday at the Museum of art another friend wanted to get together and suggested Midtown Spirits Wine & bites. We showed up and the place was bustling with music and people. Thankfully there was seating in the back with the nice plush pretty purple seats. This is the spot to be on a Thursday night. We all ordered a bunch of plates, I went with the french 75 drink and chicken pesto sandwich. It was a great time, great food and great spot to visit and catch up with friends. We went here on a whim one Saturday night. Literally left Fallon (because everything closes hella early there, even on a weekend) after an afternoon on the river, and came here because it was recommended by a great friend, Cori. It's roughly an hour drive from Fallon to Reno, but if you've driven the route long enough, you know you can make it well under an hour, wink wink. Midtown Spirits Wine & Bites is located in a huge shopping/dining area. It shares the lot with some beauty salons, a handful of restaurants, a couple more bars, a thrift store, and even a gym. Even with all of the other businesses, parking was pretty easy for a Saturday evening. When we first walked into Midtown, we were 2.5/5 discouraged because: there wasn't enough comfortable seating for us (there were 8 of us), the seating that seemed available from afar was actually reserved, we were out numbered culturally, and we felt, at least, 10-15 years too young compared to everyone else there. There was seating at the bar, but we wanted to enjoy each other's company, not stare each other down from the bar. We ended up squeezing into the corner chairs near the entrance, and we only managed to fit because my petite sister in law sat on my brother's lap and/or the loveseat arm the whole night. Our waiter was amazing, by the way. I'm sorry that I forgot his name, but he was tall-ish with wavy brown hair, and he was cool and attentive, and he brought us extra pickles because he heard us raving about the pickles! The lone bartender that night made some amazing drinks. They all came out so pretty and perfect, and they all tasted great. We all agreed that she was absolutely gorgeous, and she totally stood out from the rest of the staff. We started off with waters, which was nice, because hanging out on the river, and having previous homemade libations can make you pretty parched. It was good water, too, not tap water or Arrowhead water. Our drinks included a couple of Manhattans, some Old Fashioned's, a Cosmo, a French 75, an Espresso Martini, and a Salty Dog. Second round had more French 75's and more Manhattans. We ordered A LOT of food, but there was 8 of us, and we went there with the intentions of eating and hanging out, so... Our food order included the Potstickers , BBQ Chicken Flatbread, Sirloin Sliders, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Burrata and Olives, and the Pesto Chicken sandwich. For bar food, we were impressed. Everything looked great, and nothing was soggy or greasy or overly salty. The pesto was incredibly fresh, the sirloin was tender and very easy to bite into, everyone loved the pickles and the olives, and the flatbread was the overall favorite and was obviously the easiest one to share. Every plate was returned empty, as was every glass. There was a live band that played a good mix of older songs (60's-80's-ish genres). There was one specific group of friends on the dance floor dancing to pretty much every song, but they had more liquid courage than we did (I spotted many wine bottles on their tables). The restrooms, located behind the bar and to the left of the stage, are well kept and well lit. The ladies restroom has at least two stalls, but my sister in law and I still had to wait our turns. It's a curse no matter where we Ladies have to go, I guess... Would I return to Midtown Spirits Wine & Bites??? Probably not, to be honest. It's really not the crowd for me. But Midtown Spirits Wine & Bites is pretty solid! The food, drinks, decor, music, and staff: all great! 4/5! read more

Came back here to listen to Saxman on Sunday, and it was PACKED by 4:30 p.m.! Just goes to show you how a great band can bring in the people. We met some friends and found some seats in the corner. The cocktails were amazing as usual, and we got some food that was recommended for groups...the charcuterie plate. After having more cocktails, we tried the chicken pesto sandwich...deelish. The combination having great music with a packed house and attentive bartenders and staff along with great food and drink made this a memorable evening. This place has been on my list for a long time, I'm sad it has taken me this long to try it! The outside does not do the inside justice. It is located in a strip mall and doesn't look very appealing from the outside. Parking is easy since there's a big shared lot for multiple businesses. The inside is dark with purple lighting and matching purple velvet couches. They have a large bar in the middle which is surrounded by high top tables and the couches for hanging out. They have a huge wall of different wine bottles surrounding a TV that is showing sports games. There's even a little stage tucked in the corner for live music! They had a jazz band there playing Christmas music on the day we went, they sounded fantastic! Our server told us they have live music 7 days a week which we thought was so impressive! They have an extensive drink menu with pretty much anything you could want, including flights. There's also a food menu if you're hungry! We shared a couple bottles of wine, both of the ones we tried were smooth reds that were very affordable. We had a great time hanging out and sipping our wine while listening to the live music! Service was really good too, people came by to check on us frequently despite us just having drinks and sitting at some couches instead of an actual table. The mixed nuts are a great options if just wanting drinks and something light. I really enjoyed the arepa but wish it came as more than 1. The loaded dippers were okay. Not my favorite. Overall, i think foodwise its a little overpriced and small portions. I understand the single use recyclable/compostable dishware but feels like it brings down the higher end vibe they are going for with the menu and decor. Went here for a night out with 8 lovely ladies and had a great night. We sat in these very comfortable couches by the entrance. It was right next to the live music/dance floor so that was a lot of fun. Our waitress was great and kept checking in with us for refills on drinks and food. We had several of the lettuce chicken wraps, the chicken skewers and the tomato basil soup with grilled cheese sandwich. The lettuce chicken wraps were very good and a generous portion of chicken in each. The grilled cheese was on a delicious sourdough, baguette-style, and was perfectly paired to dip in the tomato soup. The bread was so good we actually ordered a few more for our table. Our drinks included an espresso martini that was beautifully presented and tasty. The classic martinis were also a hit with us as well as the whiskey that my one friends kept raving about. We also really appreciated our waitress allowing us to keep our food and drinks on separate tabs at the end of the night. A lot of places don't do this anymore and it really is a nice service for a large group and can be a deciding factor as to where we visit. We will certainly be back again as it wad a fun vibe. So first time there last night, my friend and I went to see about them we follow and upon walking in the first thing we were greeted with was a man telling us and handing us a clipboard with the paper on it saying that there was now a $20 food drink item minimum Required in order to stay so in saying that we ordered and he says to us that we're sitting on the couch by the door by the way and he says to us before we even order while I need your credit card so my friend gives him her credit card and we're looking at them like we haven't even ordered yet I said why are you getting the credit card now and he says well you're sitting by the door and I said what and he said you're sitting by the door and I said we're not those kind of people we're not gonna just walk out mind you there's an outdoor seating area so after that awkwardness of him stating that in front of other people, we place our order he goes in away and another lady approaches us and informed us that there's a $20 minimum long story short that happened to us 3 to 4 different times at night and three hours later as a bound wrapping up my friend doesn't have her credit card back yet so I'm walking around trying to find him. I finally find him and I'm like hello. We need her credit card and he goes and I said and what I said you've had it for over three hours. He's like OK really extremely rude so I go back to my friend. I let her know that it looks like he lost it cause he's feeling his pocket. He's looking around the bar area and then ends up over at the cashier then he comes over and says my friend so are you done ordering? Are you gonna order anything else now mind you in the three hours that we were there never once will recheck on again never once will be brought a box for our pizza to take home our leftovers never one city offered to fill our water or sodas, and so neither did any of the other women who asked us and informed us that we needed to pay a $20 basically to me. It was like a cover fee in food or drinks so to say that we would never go back there again is absolutely 100% right and the food was horrible. It was cold that crabcakes were frozen soggy absolutely disgusting the sauce taste like tartar sauce not a good tomato sauce and the pizza was ice cold actually wasn't pizza. It was flatbread pizza so then he brings the card back and he says oh I'm sorry and as we look at them, we're both saying to myself my friend and I to each other. I mean that now you need to call and see if there's any charges on your card because he lost your card left it somewhere around the cash register for the last three hours in hindsight, she would've never given him her card. Now do we realize that this guys did not know what they were doing at all in anyway the band was awesome, but definitely would never ever go back there, and it was an embarrassment to say the least. and also, how do you keep track of who's spending $20 and who isn't besides humiliating them in front of people you eat something you expect your plate to be taken away oh and by the way they were served on paper plates so talk about soggy and gross but add to that a regular as I'm waiting trying to hunt down her credit card tells me wow it's busy tonight. I said yeah are you a regular and he's like yeah I'm a regular and I said so do you get charged $20? He said I don't know what you're talking about so maybe that was just a thing to do to the newcomers but really you have them a clipboard with the new rules on there when we asked for a menu so unprofessional I'd be embarrassed on this establishment when we are locals by the way at least over by 50 years never ever had this experience before. read more

Kept walking past this place down the street and finally decided to check it out since they're open on Mondays. The interior is a comfortable lounge vibe, very welcoming. Live music Wednesdays- Sundays, we were told! The staff is friendly and attentive, Marley was very helpful! The owners were also quite friendly. We tried a few cocktails and all were amazing! The margarita was so good!! All fresh squeezed juices and the option for a spicy version which was delicious! The frothy espresso martini was also a favorite. Finally checked this place out after hearing good things; however, it was underwhelming to say the least. Packed on a Saturday night, which was to be expected with the live music & beautiful weather. My boyfriend held down the two seats we snagged while I went to the bar to order. On a busy Saturday there was ONE person behind the bar, so I waited a bit as others had been trying to get attention/service before me. The wine list was impressive. Partner likes cab so I ordered a Truchard from the list (about $40/bottle). The lone server came back saying they're out of the Truchard but had two alternate suggestions around the same price, one of which was a Justin Paso Robles cab. Server informed it was $44/bottle. As I still had their wine list I flipped to the cab section and pointed to the EXACT same wine listed for $39. Server confirmed that yes that's the one but it's $44 in their system, so.... Oh, but he'll be sure to point it out to the owners so they can update it. Having worked in retail, service & wine industries myself, I was surprised he didn't offer to honor the lower price stated on their menu. But I'm not the type to make a fuss in general, and certainly not over $5 on a busy Saturday night, so I just paid the $44. Now that I know their prices are inaccurate, and their system will charge you a higher price than what's printed on their menus, and the staff seemed to think patrons should be perfectly fine with this...
