Such a great find! I was really impressed with Belleville Wine Bar from the moment I walked in. The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere feels warm and inviting, and I love that they have a patio as well. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing. They also have a great wine selection, but what really made the experience stand out was Nico, the owner. His passion for what he's created is so apparent, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and wine. I loved hearing that many of the dishes are based on family recipes and that a lot of the vegetables they use are grown locally. You can tell there's so much thought and care behind everything they serve. It's the kind of place that feels special without being pretentious -- great food, great wine, a beautiful space, and people who genuinely care about what they're doing. I'll definitely be back! read more

You definitely don't feel like you are in Reno when you visit Belleville Nico has created something special. The small Plates are all amazing and delicious in every way. The wine - well it never not once disappoints and the food will stretch your pallet beyond your comfort zone. read more

I had planned on coming to Belleville long before now. I have had many friends telling me how much I would enjoy coming here. They were correct. They were doing a Prix Fixe for Reno Food and Drink Week and I went in knowing my husband would do it, but I would order something else. I have always had a think against smoked anything, they had a salad with smoked salmon on top. To my surprise I tried a bite of my husband's and I would have eaten it with know issue, it was nicely done. Same with his Duck Confit pasta. They were both accompanied with wine that fit them nicely . For myself I had a lovely Brussel sprout salad with a glass of Viognier, that was recommended . Return visits to come read more

Decided to stop in here on a whim on a Thursday evening around 6pm. It was fairly busy and lively, but we were easily able to grab a seat at the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful, allowing us to try a taste before we ordered a full pour of wine. The live music was fun! It was a duo performing cover songs with a jazzy vibe. It's unassuming from the outside, you can't really see inside, but the interior has bold colors and an art deco feel. They do have a full menu, which I'd like to come back and try sometime! read more

Quaint little wine bar a few blocks west of downtown. They don't take reservations and it's minimal seats, a few small couches, and some seats at the bar. In the warm seasons, they provide outdoor seating and live music on certain evenings. My friend and I shared a few tapas plates along with some hummus and pita bread. Service was very attentive. They offer up numerous French themed items for sale so don't forget to check them out. I liked the overall vibe of the bar. Intimate, classy, and tasteful. I look forward to date night here and checking out the music on a hot summer night. read more

I love the food, wine and ambiance at Belleville. But present me with an opportunity to have a champagne paired dinner here- I'm in !!!! The owner, Nico, invited Ava, the representative from the champagne house of Champagne Jacquart from Reims, France to present four of their champagnes at a private event early November. The evening did not disappoint. It was highlighted by several factors- my favorite, was the request of formal attire. It was energizing to be fancy for one evening, and the room looked fabulous full of suits and evening wear. Ava's knowledge of the champagnes and her devotion to talking to all the tables all night was another treat. The bubbles were decadent. The paired dishes amazing. Upon waking in Nico greeted each attendee with a glass of Champagne Jacquart Brut Mosaïque. My favorite of the four. Soft bubbles and delicious. A refill of the brut paired sinfully with the fresh oysters and two types of caviar. Champagne Jacquart Brut Rosé complimented the devine thinly and generous portion of smoked salmon with arugula and the dill cream. Vol au vent de la mer was a seafood lovers heaven. A variety of seafood in a delicate puff pastry and light sauce. The Champagne Jacquart Blanc de Blanc added to the richness. The dessert, had its own story. Seems the salt was placed in the sugar container by mistake, so anticipated chocolate tart was not served. The substitution was still a delight - a tart slice with whipped flavor cream and a truffle. The Champagne Jacquart Brut Cuvée Alpha 2014 at $150 a bottle rounded out the menu. This event had no social media advertising and sold out in three days. I was lucky to have stopped in one evening for a glass of wine and dinner to discover it. Here's your chance- Nico is creating a second chance in December to enjoy the champagnes again. Check it out soon to secure your seat to a fabulous evening. read more

This is the kind of small restaurant focused on making the best of what is offered. The menu isn't extensive but has enough variety to please everyone, and everything is done to perfection. Our second time here, each time our choices were delicious. Very ample wine selection. Our party shared cannellini bean salad which was under seasoned, grilled red bell peppers with garlic, olive oil and crusty bread finally homemade hummus. Crispy duck confit bruschetta, lobster roll and Spanish sardines were the main dishes. Finished with some luscious gelato. 4 1/2 stars read more

A great nice middle high-end Line bar in a pretty decent part of Reno. It was modern and slick with not much going on. The menu options and wine pairings were fantastic with a cool little experience. Definitely a great place to wind down in your early evening with a glass of wine and delicious small plates. I had the Chardonnay with the lobster and shrimp roll and charcuterie board. read more

The food is very good. I had the Smoked Salmon Tartines, very flavorful and fresh. My daughter had the shortrib pasta and that was very good as well, cooked perfectly. My husband had the lobster roll with Cole slaw, again very good and fresh. For dessert we had the Mango gelato and the Cheese pie. Lots of mango flavor in the gelato and the cheese pie, let's just say I won't be able to eat cheese cake again after having this wonderfully flavorful cheese pie at Belleville, it is the yummiest. We went during seafood happy hour, great value and the seafood is very fresh. Very cute and comfortable restaurant, nice table seating as well as bar seats. They even have outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer. Great place, we will be back. read more

Stopped in for happy hour and opted for the lobster roll. So good and buttery and paired well with the recommended chardonnay (cant remember the name). Cole slaw was on point and not too much mayo. Very crispy and a slight tart. Little on the spendy side for happy hour but my tastebuds were happy. Nikko is the best host ever and really prides his self on delicious food and definitely knows the art of pairing wine with food 100%! Love the chill vibe of this place and service is always with a smile. An enjoyable way to finish off a Sunday evening. read more

Belleville has quickly become one of my most favorite recommendations to nearly everybody I meet. The elegant but social atmosphere combined with the eclectic and luxurious aesthetic, delicious French inspired small plates, and an exceptional wine list and staff who knows about each and every pour make this an experience that everybody needs to have in their lives. And that's coming from someone who doesn't even like wine, unless I'm drinking it at Belleville. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here and it was beautiful and special. The table for two was set amongst many other patrons, yet somehow it felt like it was just us. We enjoyed the roasted peppers, a selection of cheeses from their reserve menu, the lentil salad and a few select glasses of wine paired perfectly by Nico! My wife had been here at least three times before this and I was so happy with my first experience I totally understand why. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful place in our community and I can't recommend it enough! read more

This was not my first visit. The wife and I came back to try the Prix-Fixe menu and we weren't disappointed. The chef's preparation highlighted the flavors of the ingredients. It was exceptionally balanced. The selected Ochoa Chardonnay matched elegantly with the poulet and the salad. As I've become used to, the owner visited our table to personally check on our satisfaction and to provide some insight on the food and wine pairing. What a great dining experience. We ate a little early so the restaurant wasn't packed. I will be back for sure. read more

We had a GREAT night here, eating wonderful small plates and trying different wines -- and especially talking about wine and food with the servers and the owner. Some of our highlights - olive tapenade -- OMG! SO GOOD! We had a plate of meat charcuterie and another of cheese and we basically played with our food for two hours. Don't miss the Cheese Pie for dessert. it's what cheesecake would be if it was grown up and leaning towards savory. Blue birds everywhere, the ambiance is relaxing and enjoyable. This place has been on my list to try for months. I was finally able to make it in with a friend. We sat on a cozy couch in the back corner of the restaurant. The owner went through the menu with us and made suggestions. We decided to have him bring us a few of his favorites! The salted cod was so flavorful. I would get that over and over again. The olive-ham cake was good but not my favorite. Great selection of wines, cheeses, meats, etc. I can't wait to go back with my husband and try more on the menu! read more

Exceptional all around and I've yet to go to the Sunday Seafood Happy Hour! Hands down the best oysters in Reno, they are super fresh and briny. All of the tapas that we have tried has been so good and there are things you just can't get at other places in Reno. And the price point is great regularly and then the daily happy hour makes it even more reasonable. We are going to work our way through the whole menu (while also getting oysters every time). Also a great selection of wine, if you don't know what to get just ask what they recommend! Service has been attentive and informative every time we have been. It is clear they care about their customers. Sometimes the owner is behind the bar and is super helpful suggesting food and wine and pairings. Belleville Wine Bar is also stylish and it's super cozy to sit at tables, couches or at the bar. Definitely the best place to open in Reno this past year and also should be on all the "best of lists" in my opinion! I've uploaded a photo of the seafood happy hour (can't wait to go) however, please be aware that their menu changes regularly so don't be surprised if items or prices are different! read more

What a great experience for our anniversary! To start with, the place is gorgeous. Love all the windows, and the decor is pretty and tasteful. They were playing a fun and eclectic mix of music that enhanced the evening. The wine selection is fantastic, and the menu made my mouth water. And they have oysters!! Every Sunday starting at 3:00 Belleville has a seafood happy hour in addition to their regular menu. I have been wanting to try it ever since I heard about it and my expectations were high since everything I've had there has always been so excellent. We started with the cold shrimp with French mayonnaise. I am not a mayonnaise lover (my husband is and said it was great!). I squeezed a generous amount of lemon on mine and it was delicious! Next was the butternut squash crab soup-prepared beautifully with just the right amount of crab. Salmon tartine and lobster roll with coleslaw was next and these were my favorite dishes of the meal. All the seafood was very fresh and prepared perfectly. I love the small plates as you can try more dishes and with their excellent wine selection and recommendations it's easy to find the right one to accompany the meal. My husband doesn't like alcohol and our server recommended a sparkling non alcoholic wine which he loved. For dessert we had the French apple tart with vanilla ice cream which is one of my favorite desserts in Reno. It's so light with the apples prepared beautifully accompanied by the creamiest ice cream. Service is always outstanding here by the entire staff and owner Nico's charming presence helps make dining here a special one. This restaurant is one of the standouts in Reno and why I keep returning again and again! read more

The seafood HH on Sundays is such good quality and supremely delicious! Slurp some oysters, dig into buttery lobster and shrimp rolls and leisurely sip a nice bottle of wine- nothing better to chase away Sunday scaries with! Discovered a brand new wine type off the pairing list a Pinot Bianco from Italy that is a hybrid between a sauv blanc and a Chardonnay- absolutely delicious light fruity perfect for spring and summer would highly recommend. Service was great lots of explanation about the regions and where stuff came from. The devil crab eggs were a very unique spin on deviled eggs very tasty little bite. One of our favorite items too was the beef carpaccio- so thin, salty paired with the artichoke it was heavenly! The only thing I didn't like was the shrimp with mayonnaise, personal opinion mayo is too heavy and bland to pair with shrimp, should give people an option to swap mayo for like a cocktail sauce or something! Everything was high quality with beautiful presentation, definitely did not feel at all like I was in Reno- a much more sophisticated menu than any other in town! read more

This review is not about the food--it is strictly about the shocking, unacceptable behavior of the owner/management. I previously left a 3-star review detailing my feedback about the small, overpriced charcuterie portions and the lack of a complimentary birthday dessert. The owner's personal, private message response to this constructive feedback was completely out of touch, defensive, and hostile. Instead of taking any accountability for the experience, the owner chose to personally attack me. He told me the entire situation was my fault, claiming I should have asked for more cheese when I paid $64 for two boards that were already inadequate. He aggressively stated that I 'lacked courage' for using an online review system and that 'What you did is useless!' The owner then concluded by telling me that 'it is best for you to never come back!' When you leave honest feedback, this management will insult you and ban you. This level of unprofessionalism warrants a 1-star rating. I have uploaded screenshots of the owner's full conversation to this review so future customers can see exactly how management treats people who dare to criticize them. read more

What a wonderful place to come for an anniversary! My husband and I like to go out every year on the day we got engaged and this year we chose Belleville. We had an absolutely lovely time in the low lit room with candles and love songs playing in the back ground. Everyone was so nice and helpful, I think every single person working that night came to check on us at one point. We each had two glasses of wine, I myself had a rose and a bubbly both of which paired just perfectly with the appetizers we ordered. My absolute favorite thing we had was the Crab Deviled Eggs, they were simply to die for! The drizzle of olive oil was a perfect touch and it really just made them perfect. I also loved the Duck Bruschetta! Although, honestly, everything was so amazing. Belleville really made our special little night just even more special! read more

A friend of mine brought me here after a much relaxing pedi. I hadn't eaten but she had, so I was kinda iffy going to Belleville for a glass of wine and hors d'oeuvres. I knew nothing about this place but my friend assured me I had nothing to worry about. This place is just chill. It's not noisy as expected at around 5:30. The lighting is quite relaxing too. They have a nice wine list by the glass or full bottles. I found my new favorite combo I didn't know I had, rose Crémant De Bourgogne and a lobster roll. I would have never ordered a lobster roll at any wine bar but I did here. The lobster was sweet, fresh and tender. So was the the side of slaw. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and professional. We kept getting checked on to see if there was anything else we needed. Our glass was never empty. We were super happy. I want to return to try their Duck Confit and apple tart. I didn't get the names of the gentlemen that took care of us that day but you guys have a great sense of humor and are awesome! Say Bonjour to the best French wine bar around! This unsuspecting gem is located just off the hustle and bustle of downtown and is truly magnificent! We came for happy hour and enjoyed a few glasses of wine, crab deviled eggs, crab/shrimp roll, bruschetta, beans, Brie and baguette and their cherry dessert. After attending a Yelp elite event, I just had to come back and bring my girls for the seafood happy hour. It was a lovely afternoon of girl time and good food. One of us doesn't do seafood, but there were still non-seafood options for her to choose from. Overall, we tried both the crab and lobster rolls and the mushrooms tart, and the bean salad. Everything was delicious. Though we did note the slaw with the rolls was really heavy on the mayo with not much else flavor. This wasn't enough to send it back, but we did mention it to the staff. Might be a one-off situation. We will be back for sure as the pricing is terrific and the atmosphere is pleasant. Can't wait for warmer weather to sit outside. read more
