We love Mo's by the river. Casual environment but very cute. They do have shade but sometimes in the afternoon the sun can be burning; I personally love the heat, but would recommend sunnies, hat and hand sunscreen. You can bring outside food to pair with the great wine selection. Mo is amazing and gives great wine recommendations. 10/10 can't recommend enough.

What a lovely little unexpected spot to find. We went after dinner and post UNR move in. Just us parental adults. As per the usual in the evening, it was quite windy, but the patio was still a wonderful place to be. We met the owner and were able to wring some special recommendations around Reno from her. She is so welcoming and lovely. Really adored talking to her. The wine here is fabulous. We drank both the Prosecco and the Italian White. Both were delicious. I love that they serve sustainable and organic wines when possible. The selection is really good. Hubs had beer, which was also a nice selection and he was pleased. The patio is pretty and welcoming. And we were able to snag a table at seven on a Saturday. Be aware, they close pretty early unless your chatterbox like us and just don't stop talking to the owner.

The seasonal summer opening makes it feel like a special treat every time we get to go. Last night we sat out on the patio, enjoying the warm evening air and sipping on a perfect glass of wine--it was the ideal date night for any wine lover. If you're in Reno during the summer, Mom's By the River is a must. Great wine, amazing atmosphere, and Mo makes it all unforgettable.

I've been wanting to come here for a while and didn't realize how many times I've driven by this area without seeing it! The winery itself is in a small house on the corner with the garage being converted into the bar area. There are a few barstools inside but most of the seating is outside on their cute patio! Despite a small indoor space, they still have a bathroom which I was glad to see. The location is about a block away from the river, so there's no river view but it's in a great location to stop when you're doing a stroll along the river. They allow you to bring food over to enjoy on their patio with a glass of wine. Their wine menu had several different types of wine to try, I wanted a Sauv Blanc and described what kind I usually like. They suggested two different types and I chose one from Spain. It was refreshing and I enjoyed it! My husband got a Chianti from Italy and he wasn't a fan, he usually loves Chiantis but said this one tasted more sour than usual. However, we both still really enjoyed hanging out here on the patio! Prices were pretty standard. The staff was friendly and easy to talk with. We had a baby with us and they allowed us to bring her in as well. Now that I know this place is here, I'll definitely come back when we are doing the riverwalk sometime soon! They also have some fun events they host, so I'd love to come back for one of those eventually!

Definitely qualifies as a hidden gem! It is located in a lovely old residential neighborhood near McKinley Center and the small commercial area that is the home to Hub Coffee, Dorinda's and Beaujolais. Mo and Glen are the owners and welcome you to their lovely patio - there is no indoor seating except for the teeny bar. They have an extensive wine list and are knowledgable about what they serve. Explain what you like - they will make a match to your preferences. Order by the glass or buy a bottle. They also sell wine for takeout by the bottle or you can order multiple bottles or a case. It is casual and laid-back. The perfect spot to meet up with friends and have a glass or two of good wine in a beautiful location. There is street parking in the neighborhood. They are also a block away from the large lot at McKinley Center.

I don't believe it. I thought I wrote my review for Mo's By the River. Today, I learned that I didn't. In any case, Mo's is a cute wine bar located in the middle of surburban Reno close to the Truckee River Walk. I was unable to check out their wine list but what we had (a couple glass of domestic red) was actually pretty good and priced right. Just admiring their set up, I made up my mind if the opportunity presents itself, I will hold an event at Mo's the next time I'm in the Reno area Thank You Mo's for a casual fun time... And we were in walking distance to our Air BnB and the Truckee River Walk..... so it only made sense to stop in at Mo's for a thirst quencher.

Five stars just doesn't seem like enough for Mo's By The River. The location, the owner, the decor, the WINE?!? All fabulous! A friend of mine and I were looking for a new spot to try and Yelp pointed us to Mo's. We had a lot of catching up to do, so we arrived right when they opened and got our pick of tables. We knew we'd be splitting a bottle and Mo herself offered up the perfect Sauvignon Blanc. It was a perfect summer wine and no sulphates! You can tell just how loved this place is. So many regulars showed up and would say hello like you were a dear friend. We spent over 2 hours here just chatting with others and sipping our wine. I love everything about this spot and will be back very soon!

A friend had suggested this place for a weekday get together. I have come down to the area for the Yelp Dorinda event but maybe this was not there back then. This place is like a garden oasis where if you have a good book and a drink you will be all set! It's very serene and they have decorated it like a secret garden. The owners shared that they live onsite and added on the bar to it, it was actually really cool. There was a bunch of red and white wines, as well as beer. I had asked if there was anything sweeter and was suggested a Elderberry Spritzer which tasted like Summer in a can. This place was great to soak up the sun, relax, and just visit. Definitely recommend, as they let you bring outside food or delivery in which was great!

This is such a friendly, charming place to enjoy a glass of wine. The patio is comfy and full of lush plants with plenty of nice shade provided. Such a beautiful place to visit with a friend or loved one and love that the staff is so helpful but doesn't rush you. One of the prettiest locations in Reno with the river right across the street.

A real hidden gem in Reno! Such a cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine and some conversation. I love the concept, and the owners have cultivated a welcoming atmosphere. I stopped by with a friend on Wednesday and picked up some food at the Feed the Camel food trucks around the corner. Perfect spot for a summer sip.

This is what Reno is all about! Down home hospitality and great location. Mo and Glen make you feel like one of the neighbors, and these are the best neighborhoods to have! They have an eclectic wine list featuring Organic, small batch wineries that are Dry Farmed and low or no sulfites. Just bring your own food or you can order from Mountain Mikes, Gambia, and others. My husband and I enjoy wines from all over the world, and were thrilled to see some of our favorite varieties at Mo's. We rarely see vinho verde from Portugal... and we were certainly able to enjoy it sitting outside on a mild, overcast Spring day. On a bike ride I stopped to see what this great spot was. Mo and I ended up chatting for a bit. She told me about her beer, wine selection plus the bring your own food options. I came back later with a friend to try a few selections and had a great time. It feels like you have been invited into someone's home. read more

Nice little wine bar. In the heat of the summer misters would be a nice addition to help keep the patio and guests a bit more comfortable. Sangria might be another great offering as a chilled drink during hot afternoons. read more

My favorite wine spot that is tucked away near the hub. The owners are so gracious and positive as are all the wonderful guests. The wine selection is affordable and amazing. Love their wine club and events. They will open Memorial Day weekend. You can order food in and all seating is outside by fire lamps or fire pit. They've even got a few blankets. This is my fave wine spot most every weekend. Don't tell too many because its a gem you'll want to share with close friends and will end up spending hours there. read more

A lovely, welcoming, and relaxed place to hang out, Mo's feels like you're stopping in at your neighbors' house for wine, only you contribute to the wine as a collective. The owners are warm and seem genuinely happy to have you there, and the wine is high quality and chosen carefully. When we weren't sure which bottle to buy, we were presented with five different bottles and specifics about each one. After that, we sat out on the patio while Olive the dog and a sweet cat wandered through. I can't think of a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon, and I'll be a regular customer. read more

I came, I saw, I immediately joined the wine club. Mo and her husband Glen are the owners and the quaint little patio and wine bar is attached directly to their house. The rumor is that this place started as a way for them to just entertain some of their friends with wine events and now it has blossomed into something truly special. They're open for select hours Wednesday through Sunday (when they're not hosting private events) and also put on special events that go out to their wine club members before the general public. Their opetions are super unique and for the most part can't be found at other spots in Reno and they do a great job of matching wines to your tastes (and meals that you may have brought with you). Speaking of meals, they don't serve any food, however, they have partnerships with some local spots for discounted deliveries and also allow for anyone to bring in their own food. It makes for a great date night and provides lots of opportunities to make new friends if you're into that sort of thing throughout the evening. read more

Lovlely place to relax and drink some wine. The gentleman that owns/works there was so nice and hospitable. My mum and sister were over from the UK, we took them here, in Sept, and they said it was one of the highlights of their trip. read more

What a hidden Gem just off keystone and nearby the river! we had a group Happy Hour event there and Mo and Glenn were super! I will return and highly recommend YOU check this venue out because it's cozy, comfortable and has great Rosé !!! read more

The owners are great and very personable. Enjoyed my entire evening there. Great wine selections. The overall atmosphere of the outdoor seating tucked in a quiet neighborhood is very relaxing. I highly recommend visitors to the area whom want a nice experience to include MO's as an evening retreat. read more

It was quite busy and very hard to get an order placed at the bar. As we were waiting for the remainder of our party, we grabbed a table top outside and someone from the bar came and took our order which was really nice since we couldn't squeeze in at the bar. I'm not sure what it was for but there was a huge cake that was cut up and passed around which we got to partake in which was kinda cool. They also had a live band playing which added to the overall vibe. They have bar food and a great outdoor seating area with a fire pit. Can definitely see myself making many visits especially in the summer time!

The space isn't huge, so the events are limited to 30 people. Just right to get star treatment from everyone. No pretentious wine snobs or chefs, everyone discussing the highlights of the food and wine. Besides the dinners, Archive has also been hosting blind tastings and other fun wine discovery night. The Caesar is nothing to write home about. It's fresh and from scratch, but it's just a Caesar. The duck duo came with both duck confit and duck breast. The duck confit was unreal. So tender and so flavorful. The duck breast was a bit tough for my liking, but I really enjoyed the sauce they used on the dish. Most of all, I was shocked by how good the dessert was. We ordered the cast-iron chocolate cake, and it was unbelievable. The sauce that bubbles away in the hot cast iron was spooned onto the rich cake and topped with vanilla ice cream. Nothing better! I miss the old Liberty that used to offer daily specials and killer deals on pasta and pizza, but the new Liberty ain't so bad. It might be a bit more pricey, but still a reasonable option for a nice dinner out in Reno.

The charcuterie board was amazing and something I'd definitely order again. The filling of the lobster roll was good but I wasn't a fan of the bread. Our server was prompt, personable, and so sweet, we enjoyed her very much! I love the different seating options and that you can look around at all the wines they have within the building. Our first experience was wonderful and I can't wait to return to try more flights and menu items. I feel this is such a nice place to celebrate, relax or enjoy a date night. Strolled into this VERY COOL joint just off Virginia St. in midtown. WOW! What a pleasant…read moresurprise. They have just about everything that you can't find anywhere else's when it comes to spirits. They carry a lot of wine as well but since I'm kind of out of the wine world these days I can't comment on their offerings. Beer wise they have 4 on tap and 4 wines by the glass as well (2 red, 2 white). The walk in cooler is stocked full of all sorts of goodies. From sake to sours, hefeweizens to non-alc, they have them all. Local beers and a large selection of German imports. I was like a kid in a candy store. Additionally, I happened to walk in when Jim Gaffigan was coming in to do a bottle signing of his new Fathertime Bourbon. Funny, as I'm attending his show at the GSR tonight too.

She was running around the whole time to take care of us and other patrons, but always did it with a smile on her face. I never felt rushed. They have limited snack options for purchase but allow you to bring in your own snacks as well. Finally, the space. It is on the smaller size but we were able to fit our group in without issues, while still leaving some open tables for other patrons. They also provide service on a handful of outdoor tables. The only minor issue is they had live music which felt quite loud in such a small place, but when asked, they were able to lower the volume a bit which was very nice of them!

At the end of the meal I had a white chocolate espresso martini. I was disappointed with the martini. This tasted flavorless like water and lacked any essence of espresso martini. To eat we did the cheese plate. We added beer cheese to our order for the pretzel. Holy cow! This cheese board was so large, not to mention delicious! The cheeses and meats were diverse and flavorful. The plate also came with artichoke hearts and pickles which provided a refreshing acidity to the plate. The pretzel was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and lightly salted. I am very picky about pretzels (to the point where I don't eat them) and this was my favorite! This was the most delicious pretzel I have ever ate. The cheese plate also came with a delicious stone ground mustard, what seemed to be a lingonberry jam, and the beer cheese we added. The lingonberry jam which was out of this world and the beer cheese was complex and flavorful. I have my eye on a couple of the pizzas so I definitely will be back soon for another meal (and pretzel).

It was a nice day, so we were able to sit outside, enjoy our tacos and drink and just hang out for a bit. Overall, a great little stop when you're craving some tacos!

I like a little freshness on my burgers, so I was missing some lettuce and tomato. Fortunately, I substituted a salad for the fries and ended up piling most of it onto the burger. Next time, I'll just ask for those toppings to be added. The poutine, however, didn't quite live up to the versions I've had elsewhere. I'm not sure if they used white cheddar curds, but they were almost completely melted instead of retaining that signature squeaky texture. The gravy was just okay, and I don't think shoestring fries are the best choice for poutine since they don't hold up as well under the toppings. Overall, I'd definitely come back--especially for the wings and another burger.
