Nice bar on Keystone! Loved the atmosphere, decor and big TVs for sports watching. Good Happy Hour prices for well drinks and canned beers. HeyHey Chicken food truck was in the parking lot so a Sunday beer and chicken Nuggetz were perfect while watching baseball.

Well come on down to this lil neighborhood bar if you are looking for a tasty spirit, in a fancy glass without the pretentious attitude. John the kind barkeep will craft a signature Triple Play as you take in the cool vibes and history of Shanty's. If you are lucky enough to sip some suds with one of the Dolan dads you might get the story behind one of the sepia shots on the walls. A new bar with an old soul. The Manhattan did not disappoint

Very cool bar! I love dive bars but this is more elevated. Gorgeous design...love the bathroom. (Girls will appreciate) super friendly, efficient bartender. Great beer selection in addition to a full bar. We'll be back for more!

What used to be Mama's Bear, Shanty Dolans sounds like a familiar place in Reno. Full bar, couple of TV's, gaming and a few baseball memorabilia on the wall. An Irish dive bar with potential outside of downtown. Definitely with popping by for drinks after work or a location to come by to start off your night on the weekends.

My favorite place to get a cocktail in Reno…read more They have a unique "Old Fashioned" with buffalo trace bourbon, moroccan sugar, coconut, tobacco bitters, dehydrated pineapple. It really does not taste anything like an "old fashioned" but it's very good and my usual go-to. Ambiance is cool. Has a very Edgar Alan Poe vibe mixed with an alchemist/speakeasy. They have a small patio as well. Service: top-notch mixologists/alchemists.

Love the quality of the drinks as they absolutely put effort and time making quality drinks with quality ingredients. It's relatively small inside so I can only imagine it could get packed in there. We had several drinks and every single one was perfection! The bathroom is the cutest and they have the coolest speakeasy door that the employees use to get to the back (not for the customers). My rant..I'm not from the area so I had NO idea what this place was when I walked by. It looked cute so my husband, myself and child walked up the steps and they sat outside while I went to check it out and see if this was a bar/club/ restaurant. I walked inside and instantly got the death glare from an employee. I instantly said omg I take it this place isn't kid friendly.. he rudely said no. I wanted to clarify and confirm even outside ? He said no. I apologized and they left but the vibe and way he said it was definitely off putting. My sister and I decided to stay for a drink while my husband/child went to walk around. Usually I don't give bad costumer service a chance.. but I realllllllly wanted a drink that one of those others customers were drinking. If this place had better costumer service. It would be a 5

While there, I picked up the binder containing the Whiskies list. Oh, my fricking Stars and Stripes...the whiskies list....! Was... Extensive. There were lists of bourbons, ryes, scotches by region (Speyside,Islay, Islands, etc) They had blended whiskies, flavored whiskies, and Irish whiskies. This was one of the most comprehensive lists of any place I've been. Gotta appreciate a good library whisky bar that allows you to try new regions without springing for a whole bottle.

Neat Whisky Bar is a concept bar within the Terrace Lounge. I'm not even sure Yelp allows that,…read morebut we'll see. Who says the only thing that matters is material. It goes something like this. Unless you look for it, it's Terrace Lounge, a corny casino cocktail lounge with some corny, terrible lounge singer. Most people there are visiting gamblers. They don't give a shit about craft cocktails or esoteric Scotches or bourbons. They order a gin and tonic or Maker's Mark and call it a night. But if you look carefully, you discover Neat Whisky Bar, and voila, it's suddenly a cool, hip whisky bar with 150 whiskies on the shelf. I guess it's pretty hipster that the bar is so obscure it has no material existence and Yelp may not even allow it to be reviewed. Wow, that's pretty hipster. I don't even think Chapel has that many whiskies although I keep imploring them to list their goddamn liquor. You know people just order whatever the hell is popular and corporate like Bushmills, Jameson, Maker's Mark. Those asshats at Chapel have Elmer T Lee and Rowan's Creek, but you'd never know unless you ask them. Anyhow, much applause to these guys for listing their whiskies and even better, at the back of the menu they provide a pretty decent short review of dozens of their whiskies. EVERY bar should do that. Educate your customers! I never knew so many Irish whiskies use bourbon barrels. Also, it's spelled whisky if it's from Canada or England and whiskey if it's from Ireland or America. It's called Scotch if it's from Scotland. No, it's not bourbon if it's from Kentucky. It's bourbon if it's made according to the rules (at least 51% corn, aged in new charred-oak barrels, made in America, bottled at 80 proof) so you can make Nevada bourbon if you wanted. The prices tend to be on the high side for Reno like $9.50 for a Maker's and $8 for Buffalo Trace. They say they pour 2 oz which I guess makes up for it, although most bartenders if they like you will pour 2 oz. The only really rare bourbon they have is the Pappy 15 year for $18, although they do have a lot of independent bourbons, surprising for a casino that prides itself on corporate bullshit beer and liquor. They have awful and small ice. I wouldn't get anything on the rocks here. They only had several cocktails listed and not many classic cocktails. I get the idea they're flirting with change but not making any commitment. Besides the people smoking at the bar and not giving a sh t that there were 150 whiskies, the only real annoyance was the goddamn singer who was virtually screaming and screeching. It was unbearable. Then she started singing Christmas songs and I had to leave. Christmas songs are terrible enough sung well, sung terribly, they're a form of torture.

We had two very different tastes (vodka and tequila) and she nailed both drinks perfectly. The bar felt clean, welcoming and comfortable even with its edgy vibe. I also loved the tarot cards they provide! I think they may have been intended as coasters (lol) but I kept mine as a souvenir and now use it as my bookmark. It's become one of my favorite little keepsakes. Location and parking: it's on a main strip right on the corner with a small parking lot but there's also accessible street parking in the neighborhood. I highly recommend it and will definitely return anytime I'm in Reno

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. The joint was nearly empty aside from a couple at the bar. Plenty of seating for our large group in the large, comfy couches. They also have cool built-in seating around the perimeter of the bar, though not nearly as comfortable as the vintage furniture. The menu is sorted by glass type. A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. We ordered the Imperial Japanese Chicken Wings, the Frenchified Burger, and an order of poutine. The star of the meal was the chicken wings with the wasabi ranch dipping sauce. The seasoned shoestring fries served alongside were also excellent. The burger was very good, but it was essentially meat, sauce, and cheese. I like a little freshness on my burgers, so I was missing some lettuce and tomato. Fortunately, I substituted a salad for the fries and ended up piling most of it onto the burger. Next time, I'll just ask for those toppings to be added. The poutine, however, didn't quite live up to the versions I've had elsewhere. I'm not sure if they used white cheddar curds, but they were almost completely melted instead of retaining that signature squeaky texture. The gravy was just okay, and I don't think shoestring fries are the best choice for poutine since they don't hold up as well under the toppings. Overall, I'd definitely come back--especially for the wings and another burger.
