I especially love that it's woman-owned and that there's always something fun going on, from events to little reasons to get everyone together. It's quirky AF, but isn't that EXACTLY what you want? One part legend, another lore, add in all the best parts of a dive like colorful locals, super friendly staff, and cheap drinks, plus nostalgic and vintage vibes, and an enigmatic but eventually welcoming and warm owner, and you've got the Buck Inn. When you arrive, be sure to glance just past the bar and see the sign for "Lizard Xing" and look for the attack lizards inside. If you peek outside in the backyard you may see a casket. Not sure what it's for, and maybe don't ask, but certainly check it out and look around for other fun! Lastly, make sure you look above the last chair of the bar, next to the patio door. They call it the "Asshole Corner" and it was super fun to sit a friend down their and snap a pic without them knowing! Then the server came back and asked us what we wanted. She had made some recommendations on the appetizer menu since it was happy hour. We chose the chicken fingers, the quesadilla with chicken, and the potato skins. Everything came out nice and hot. The chicken strips were not dried out. The quesadilla had a load of stuff besides the chicken; it has black beans, avocado, and cheese. The potato skins were wonderful! I'm so sad I didn't get pictures before we ate, but we dug right in.
