I came back and made sure to tip her well, she deserved it. I asked if they served food, and while they don't, she went out of her way to recommend a Korean spot next door and Red Dog Saloon for pizza. She even said it was perfectly fine to bring food back. She pays attention to either the locals or her friends I would assume. Need to pay attention to drink costs. She tried to keep cash and gave me the wrong change then gave attitude when I wouldn't tip. With my experience tending I could tell she would over pour or not even ring up people and give free drinks away. Not sure if the owners are cool with that or not but with the great prices the bar offers I'm not sure there is a lot of profit. I had the Gambler Steak Burger with garlic parmesan fries. My brother got the Blackened Salmon Ceasar Salad. I was surprised when the waiter said "good choice the salmon here is delicious". They have wild caught king salmon delivered twice a week. We split our food. The salmon was as good or better than any piece of salmon I have ever had. It melted in your mouth. My burger was cooked medium to perfection. Super juicey and delicious. Among the best burgers I have ever had no joke; they grind their own meat. The hand cut fries were really good too. Service is friendly and attentive. Great beer selection and plenty of TVs to catch the game you are after. It's quirky AF, but isn't that EXACTLY what you want? One part legend, another lore, add in all the best parts of a dive like colorful locals, super friendly staff, and cheap drinks, plus nostalgic and vintage vibes, and an enigmatic but eventually welcoming and warm owner, and you've got the Buck Inn. When you arrive, be sure to glance just past the bar and see the sign for "Lizard Xing" and look for the attack lizards inside. If you peek outside in the backyard you may see a casket. Not sure what it's for, and maybe don't ask, but certainly check it out and look around for other fun! Lastly, make sure you look above the last chair of the bar, next to the patio door. They call it the "Asshole Corner" and it was super fun to sit a friend down their and snap a pic without them knowing! We drove over the mountain on back roads in SXS UTVs to get here, and the effort was well rewarded. I'm not saying this is a destination BUT if dives are your thing, then make it one!
