The diviest dive bar with the friendliest people and the cleanest bathrooms. Barrio burger is a plus!

Thank goodness for following fellow Yelpers & their activity! When I saw J R's (Reno local) check in here - the name caught my attention! I had to see what Filthy's was! So, I bookmarked it in my Reno/ Tahoe travel folder. I told hubby about it being a local bar (YESSS!! ) and they sell merch! Double whammy. Our visit finally came July 2nd after some much running around to Virginia City, and other spots. It was time for a wind down spirit. I asked Kristen if she knew what a Mexican Candy shot was. She didn't. And in true bartender mode- she was kind enough to look up the cocktail ingredients online and Voila!! Everything needed was available! Since this is an order at the bar type of place, from what I noticed- the patron sitting next to me at the bar, while I was standing watching Kristen get excited to try something new... was intrigued! I mean, I'll always have a second option (Paloma) as my other go to... But, when Kristen had all the fixins- I ordered the fellow patron his own Mexican Candy shot. Kristen did NOT disappoint the first time around! Measurements were spot on! Tasted so good- I went for a double on the second one! Hubby ordered a hoodie from their merchandise and some stickers. Locals were cool, Kristen was amazing. read more

Filthy Mcnasty's Irish Bar - Mexican Candy Shot. Thank you Kristen for making this for me!! - Irish Pub Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Filthy Mack's is a cool little neighborhood bar with a laid-back vibe and great service. The staff was friendly, attentive without hovering, and made it easy to settle in. What really stood out for me was the non-alcoholic selection. It wasn't an afterthought. There were legit NA options beyond the usual one token choice, which made it easy to hang out and still feel included. The decor is part of the fun. It leans fully into the kitschy, slightly ridiculous bar aesthetic in a way that feels intentional and self-aware. There's a lot to look at, a lot to laugh at, and it adds to the overall experience rather than distracting from it. Easy place to post up, take it all in, and enjoy the energy. read more

Went by based yelp reviews. I'm visiting from out of town. Place was interesting and had a few people inside on a Monday afternoon. A few guys playing pool and a few at the bar. Was warmly welcomed by the bartender who helped me with a beer and told me if I wanted food outside at the food trucks. Beer was great...food was very good! Regular burger was outstanding. Food truck brought it inside to me. Bartender came over and gave me napkins that I needed! read more

LOVE this place. It's a staple visit every time I'm in Reno . Such a fun dive bar with friendly staff and locals . Went here for my birthday and got a few free drinks from locals , listened to fun music and made new friends :) Because it's a smaller place any smoking outside tends to waft in ( non smoker here ) , the only reason for 4 stars . read more

If I could give this bar a negative star I would it was my birthday yesterday and a few of us went in there to have a few beer and the bar tender was drunk and rude as f*** I have been there in the past and loved it needless to say I will never go back there as long as that person is the bartender and on top of that the bartender left alcohol on TOP of the bar SMH. read more

Enjoyed a few drinks during a drag fundraiser on Sunday afternoon. Very welcoming bartender and bar owner, everyone was receiving quick and friendly service and the event was all around enjoyable. My boyfriend and I visited twice last week. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming. The staff remembered our names. One huge selling point for my boyfriends is the Spacedust IPA they have on tap. We got schooled by some local pool sharks but had a blast doing so. It's doggo friendly so we made many new pupper friends too. read more

We were in from Phoenix for an Aces game and had our list of dive bars to go to. I am very happy we stopped ....and stayed longer than we were planning! The bar has a great vibe, the patrons were friendly, and the bartender was friendly and sassy....very important for a bar. I can only imagine what this place is like on St Patrick's Day. If you can only go to one Irish / dive bar in Reno, this is the one to drink at. read more

Filthy McNasty's was where my sister and all of our friends went all through our 20's. Every now and then, when the place was packed, I backed the bar for Wolfgang or Filthy. Lots of great memories with photos to remind me of that decade (1980-1990). read more

Nice little dive bar. Been here a few times, service is always good. People smoke outside, thank God! I met Kristen the co-owner this past Friday, she's a riot! Freindly and attentive, wanted to make sure I was enjoying the establishment. Was playing pool with some youngsters, good times all around! read more

Those of us who've been boozing for awhile usually have a certain idealized version in our heads of what a dive bar is. That means we can be picky about them. (Which seems kind of counterintuitive - picky about a dive bar, yes? But it happens.) We were in Reno for St. Patrick's Day, visiting from Orange County CA, and Filthy McNasty's was on our list to visit, along with some other bars. All of them turned out to be pretty good; McNasty's, however, is the only one getting a written review from me. And that's because it was, in this drinker's estimation, the best. The owner was awesome. The staff was friendly and fun. The denizens were charismatic and approachable. The character of the place was spot-on; rough edges and sweetness in perfect balance. You can probably tell I'd be able to ramble on further, but that would take up precious cocktail time. Get over there for a beer already. read more

$5 PBR pitcher is the best thing here. Not a place I would dedicate my night going to but if I stumble in here I wouldn't be too mad.

Dude! They have a pinball machine and custom made glasses for Coors light with the Rocky Mountains DESIGNED INTO IT!! !

Awesome dive bar. Cheap drinks, cool bartenders and awesome swag. I'd visit again when in Reno.

Amazing! Get a pb and j! Never romanticized Pabst blue ribbon and a shot of Jameson so much but it went down like butter

Brass tacks: Pitchers of PBR are five bucks, Sierra Nevada pitchers are nine bucks. There's a great pool table, an internet jukebox, bartenders are friendly and I love it here. Beers on tap are Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Coors Light (yuck), Lagunitas IPA, Blue Moon, Leines Summer Shandy, Newcastle Brown Ale, Harp Lager and Guinness. Bloody Mary's are awesome and five bucks, bathrooms are clean, and that's all I know. read more

Kristen makes the best drinks in Reno! Clean mugs as well. Real Irish local bar. Fair prices. Great special.

Fricken. Love. This. Place. Seriously. I hail from the southside of Chicago, so I am prone to Irish pubs and dive bars. If that is your style as well, look no further. If you prefer a bougie atmosphere, get to steppin. The staff is down to earth and just cool as hell to talk to. They are all personable and just downright good salt of the earth people. They make great drinks, and sling some damn good beer. This pub is the only reason I am okay with going into Reno. Filthy's, you make me happy. read more

I went to this place and let me tell you, just awful. I ordered an apple-tini with an extra umbrella and they didn't even offer me an orange slice. My wife ordered a midori and peach schnapps and they served it in a pint glass. What are we? Cretins? Furthermore when we asked them to put Golden Girls on the tv they insisted on playing the superbowl instead. I've never been so offended. They're obviously racist read more
