I have been wanting to come to Ryan's for a long time! It finally felt right to go there Friday afternoon to watch the World Cup. My girlfriend and I walked in and were able to find a high top right away. You order at the counter on a tablet for food and take a number to your table. Drinks are served directly from the bartender. The whole reason I wanted to visit Ryan's was the pickle beer! It was everything I wanted. I have a feeling I'll be craving this beer often and needing to pop in to Ryan's for a visit. I love their traditional Irish menu as well which included fish and chips, shepherds pie, Rueben sandwich and more. This was hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Everything is made so fresh to order. They have a list of specialty cocktails as well. We shared the Irish martini which was perfect for an afternoon pick me up after our big meal.

Honestly my favorite kind of restaurant: low key, good vibes, no fuss, great food. The burgers are juicy and delicious and you get to see them made right in front of you. It's a bar so it comes with a bar vibe, but the service is great.

Ryan's Saloon for a burger? Yes! Just do it! Small bar filled with locals that like to hang out and have a drinks amongst friends but don't sleep on the burgers here. Came on a recommendation from our friends at Karajillo & Co. and I must say the burgers were delicious. Sure it's "dive bar" vibes but if you order their world famous burger or the junior as well, you will not go wrong. Grilled to perfection and just the right size with a side of steak fries. If you're in the area and want a great tasting burger, don't pass this one up.

The vibes were so fun in this bar! Felt very dive-y. Definitely a good place to meet for drinks at the bar or play pool. The burgers were surprisingly tasty! Got to try one with the added pastrami and it actually went really well together. Their fries are not my favorite in town but still good. Would come back for sure.

Let's see what we got here.......

Now hear me out... when your mama said don't judge a book by its cover. She was definitely talking about this place. Now on the outside it looks like the last place you would want to go to. On the inside ... again the last place you want to go to. But LET ME TELL YOU!!!! Hats to the damn pregnant chef who through down on the grill!!! Ughhkkkk my heart. So if you know me, imma carnivore to the core! Gimmie a good burger or steak and I'm happy. You can't mess those up at all. So when I asked everyone around a good place for a burger , they told me Ryan's saloon . So I made the commute and when I saw the place I was like helllllllll no. This is not it! But I said well since I'm here.... Let's give it a go. Now you'll see old pictures and memories and the locals which were majority vets. Just talking and having convo. The bartender who was a younger pregnant lady was behind the counter. Pretty nice and she gave us the run down. So I said well either imma get food poisoning or imma be in for a shocker and let's just say mannnnnnnnn they were not wrong about this place. So I got the "Nevada burger" ZOOOOOOMYYYGAWWWDDDDD!!! When I say meat sweats! This was definitely it! Don't count your calories, do not take your time, DEVOUR this! I mean so much meat and bacon and cheese and thousand island and whatever else was all in hereeeeeeeee! But mannnnnnn itis. Definitely the itis afterwards. Hands down I haven't had a burger like this in so long and I love mom and pop establishments cause this is what you get when you come in here. And I love it! You definitely gotta come here for the food and the dive atmosphere ! Kudos to the pregnant chef!

Awesome staff, and the food is EXCEPTIONAL. So fresh and tastes amazing. Great music also. Definitely recommend coming in. I got the burger and the prime rib sandwich and both were incredible. Definitely stop by!

THE best spot in town for a Guinness and a burger! Ryan's is still the same Ryan's we all know and love. Just no gaming. (At least when I dropped by today)

Ryan's is back in 2026! Went in last night to see what the reboot looked like. The dusty bottles are gone, as well as the slot machines. The bar has keep to its classic vibe, but with a solid cleaning. The new food menu looks good, and next time I will try the Ryan's world famous burger. They had the best burger in town once upon a time, and I hope the reboot version meets that expectation. I did have the "cold heaven", it was very good. It was slightly sweet, but not over sweet. Everything about the cocktail was well balanced, and the crushed ice fit perfectly. It's a summer porch sipper kinda drink.

One of the best, (possibly the best) burgers in Reno. Been here a few times in just a couple months, to make sure I wasn't over exaggerating my reactions. Grill masters were on point, service on point. Go get a burger HERE! Their house ranch for those the fries was delicious.

The burger was really good! They have cheap beers and the bartender Matt was really nice. It's a cool, older, dive bar with gambling and a pool table.

Lots of fans including mist fan outside to fight the heat. Bus feels spacious but seating is a bit cramped with tiny metal bench seats. Service was great but the place wasn't busy at all on a weekday mid afternoon after the typical lunch period. I noticed quite a few reviews mentioned the prices were high. And when I got the bill for $60 for two people with tax and tip I might have agreed, at first, especially if my main repeat burger joints were In-n-out/Wendy's/Jack-n-Box. But comparing to those places is not apples-to-apples. It's 1/3 lbs patties here (70% more than the just below 1/4 lbs of meat you get on a Double Double) and quite a step up in meat quality from those chains. About $16+ for single patty burger and $20+ for double, but that also includes fries and a drink. I get the feeling people complaining about the prices have to be burger addicts with the review perspective of a frequent In-n-Out patron which allows getting your "fix" more frequently on the average budget. Burger is high quality all around and they cooked them actually medium rare as ordered. Many places don't give a cook temp option or still overcook. Fries were great, better than the freezer burnt airy texture of In-n-Out. My only criticism is both the fries and the patty had too much salt but not to an inedible point. A common occurrence though given the cook's and/or typical frequent fast food eater's salt-desensitized palate. So Beefy's ties at #2 with The Parlor sitting between my #1 Royce and #3 Archie's, then #4 Juicy's. Armando & Sons and Barrio Burger are next.

For starters, the food is decent…read more With that said, if you advertise Happy Hour prices, they should be honored. I went specifically for the Happy Hour wings, and when I received the check, the price didn't reflect the amount stated on the menu. I asked to speak with the owner, and instead of correcting it, she told me she gave me a quarter off and, with a smug smile, said, "Thank you very much." Sorry, lady, but your food isn't that great for you to be so confidently rude. In addition, this was my second visit this week. I only returned because my sister loves chicken wings, and because of the advertised "Happy Hour" price, I decided to give them another try. We also ordered a plain burger to go with just cheese, and when I got home, it was loaded with all the fixings, including sauce. I called several times to have the issue addressed, but no one answered. When I told the servers about the situation during this visit, instead of trying to make it right, they gave me a half-hearted apology. So yes, the food might be diner decent, but the owner's attitude and the poor service make the entire experience worse. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years, and not once have I treated a paying customer the way I was just treated. And if they want to respond to this review to justify their shitty service, great. Go for it. I was polite the entire time. All I asked was to be heard, for their advertised pricing to be honored, and for some basic appreciation for my business by simply making things right. Instead, the owner insultingly put two quarters on the table, as if 50 cents somehow made up for the $8-$9 difference we were being overcharged. It didn't. If anything, it made an already frustrating situation feel even more dismissive. And it really was an easy fix. If they couldn't adjust the Happy Hour pricing for whatever reason, she could have easily taken the $18 pastrami sandwich off the bill to make up for both the pricing discrepancy and the incorrect order we received during our previous visit just two days earlier. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was asking for an owner to recognize that her restaurant had made mistakes on two separate visits and make a genuine effort to correct them. In a city full of burger options, she had an opportunity to turn a negative experience into a positive one and potentially make lasting customers out of my family and me. Instead, she chose to be dismissive, smug, and rude over something that could have been resolved in a matter of minutes. That tells me everything I need to know about how she values her customers.

We ordered the Imperial Japanese Chicken Wings, the Frenchified Burger, and an order of poutine. The star of the meal was the chicken wings with the wasabi ranch dipping sauce. The seasoned shoestring fries served alongside were also excellent. The burger was very good, but it was essentially meat, sauce, and cheese. I like a little freshness on my burgers, so I was missing some lettuce and tomato. Fortunately, I substituted a salad for the fries and ended up piling most of it onto the burger. Next time, I'll just ask for those toppings to be added. The poutine, however, didn't quite live up to the versions I've had elsewhere. I'm not sure if they used white cheddar curds, but they were almost completely melted instead of retaining that signature squeaky texture. The gravy was just okay, and I don't think shoestring fries are the best choice for poutine since they don't hold up as well under the toppings. Overall, I'd definitely come back--especially for the wings and another burger.

The owner of Ruby Shake Shop routinely parks his Audi in the limited public street parking spaces along South Virginia Street directly in front of Raising Cane's, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and the surrounding businesses. Anyone familiar with this area knows parking can already be difficult, especially during peak hours when people are trying to grab lunch, pick up an order, or make a quick stop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these spaces appear to be occupied for extended periods of time, often throughout the day, by someone who owns and operates a nearby business. Public street parking in a busy commercial corridor is a shared resource intended to serve customers and visitors, not to function as a personal parking space for a single business owner. This review is not a reflection of the products or service at Ruby Shake Shop. Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.
